Nestled in a minimalist space with a chill brutalist vibe, this trendy café serves stellar egg Benedicts and remarkable coffee, perfect for work or a catch-up.
"The design, the food, and even the bike storage at this sceney London Fields brunch spot have been optimised to appeal to those with an Alohas sneaker habit. It’s walk-in-only at the weekend so come early to grab one of the gorgeous plywood booths. Coffee is a big part of the offering so get a cup and maybe a bag on your way out too. The food is excellent and creative, like miso granola with turmeric pear compote, or comforting, rich lamb mince on sourdough." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna
"Ozone Coffee is peak Scandi-minimalist coffee shop. The design, the food, even the bike storage, have been optimised to appeal to those with Alohas sneaker habits. The airy, oat-toned London Fields spot is all lofty, warehouse-like proportions and draws a crowd of young families and east London types. But this isn’t just a hot bed for scenesters. Coffee is a big part of the offering—and it’s excellent. Their own Ozone coffee bags are displayed like artworks and you should grab some on your way out. photo credit: Koray Firat If you’re planning a weekend visit, know that it’s walk-in-only, and if you arrive after 10am, you’ll probably have to wait for a seat. But if you’re very lucky—or organised—you’ll get one of the gorgeous plywood booths which are perfectly positioned, on a little raised level, for people-watching. The food is excellent and creative, like miso granola with turmeric pear compote, or comforting, rich lamb mince on sourdough. And the care that goes into every part of Ozone—from the regal flower selection to the ‘house blend’ milk and half-caff options—makes it a special place to start your day. photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat Food Rundown photo credit: Sinéad Cranna Kent Lamb Mince, Shallot Pickle, Alma Mill Ciabatta & Feta This menu item is more than just a name-dropper, it’s delicious too. The ciabatta is crisp, but not in a way that makes it unpleasant on the roof of your mouth, and the single slice is a nice balance—things don’t get too bready and heavy. The lamb mince is gently spiced and saucy. You get the option of a fried egg, and you should take it. Big Brekkie With Belly Bacon, Chipolatas, Hash Browns, Roast Tomato & Eggs It reads like a lot of food, but as far as big breakfasts go, you could definitely still hop on a bike and cycle home after eating this. We’re big fans of the jammy, caramelised roast tomatoes, something we usually ignore, but always eat at Ozone. The bacon tastes good but could be a little crispier, ditto the chipolatas. And we like going for scrambled eggs here, they’re always creamy and well-seasoned." - Sinéad Cranna
"Ozone is a bright and faintly Scandi-feeling space with just the right mix of people working on laptops and those avoiding working on laptops. Its Emma Street location is a pleasant place to spend an hour or two during the day. Both the weekday and weekend menus are brunch-focused, with creative flourishes like smoked fish nasi goreng or miso granola. Still, the crunchy bubble ‘n’ squeak cakes are our favourites and coming here for some solo decompression time or for a Sunday morning catch-up work just as well thanks to Ozone’s laid-back atmosphere." - jake missing, tome morrissy swan
"We don’t know if we can, in good conscience, send someone to Ozone Coffee in Bethnal Green and not tell them to get the smoked fish kedgeree. So yes, head to this spot to drink some of the best coffee in London, but also, get an extremely tasty breakfast too. Snag a space at one of the alfresco benches when the sun is out." - oliver feldman, rianne shlebak
"Ozone is less a coffee shop and more of a breakfast emporium. Creative dishes at this Emma Street outpost range from miso granola with labneh to a smoked fish nasi goreng. During the week you’ll be sitting among people pitching up with their laptops and catching up over miso granola. Expect to fight for seats at the counter if you’re someone who chooses violence in the morning, or get to know your neighbours on one of the massive shared tables." - heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna
