Notable Seattle Restaurants That Opened (or Reopened) Recently - Eater Seattle

"After remaining dormant since March, beloved Lower Queen Anne dive bar Ozzie's has reopened for business again with limited dine-in service upstairs and downstairs. There’s a new barbecue menu featured, with baby back ribs, pulled pork, and roast chicken, along with sides such as cornbread and coleslaw." - Gabe Guarente

Google
Traveling from Portland to Bellingham looking for karaoke places and this place kept coming up in conversation. I finally made it last night. I simply loved this place. Multi level fun. The best part was the two different karaoke zones! I will most definitely be back. My new favorite karaoke spot!

EJ Levinson

Google
Ozzie’s has always been a great place for drinks and karaoke in lower Queen Anne but the food in the last year has been so good! I had a huge burger, sweet potato fries! Everything was a great value considering the area! Plus the staff were chill and the bartenders too. Also had a cool makers market happening upstairs!

Google
The ruben is not to be missed. I could swear that when I took my first bite, the earth stood still and the angels sang. It was quite possibly the best ruben I have ever had. Piled with high quality corned beef, sauerkraut and 1000 Island, the taste and consistency was perfect.

Google
Food is great. Dive Bar action is decent. Music is mediocre. Overall, we had a great night on a Friday. But these security guards at the front are always on power trips for absolutely no reason. If you’re looking for good music/dance, take the trip down to monkey loft in sodo.

I stopped for breakfast after a long workout and I was famished. I took the pan cake platter with a black coffee. The place was not too busy on a Saturday morning. The service was good and pretty quick. The platter had a good portion size. The pancakes were okay. The platter had sausages, bacon and came with eggs which I asked to be scrambled. I felt the eggs lacked salt for flavor but if u eat it with the other proteins it kind of balances out. Overall it was nice.

Google
This spot takes "5-Star Dive Bar" very seriously, and we loved it! Our server was the sweetest person, always checking in to make sure the food was good and our beers were full. The food was surprisingly great, everything came out hot and well seasoned. For Seattle, the food portion-to-price ratio felt good, cannot recommend this casual spot more!

Beth Richardson

Google
First time here. We came on a Thursday afternoon at the end of April and it wasn’t busy at all. There is some parking on the side of the street. Make sure and check out the daily specials. The food was good. The atmosphere was good at this time too.

Google
Best dive bar karaoke experience in the greater Seattle area. Eclectic. Young and old alike. Always fun. Always great singers and fun people up on the stage. Andrea is the greatest waitress in the world. Of course I love all the other wait staff as well. They treat me well there's always a good time to be had there. Security guys are strong smart and they keep things cooking with good oil. I've been going there about 10 years and I have pretty good taste....

Yelp
This place is great! Went to Monday night bingo and won a $25 gift card! Used that toward husband and I for Friday night $15.99 each prime rib with salad and a baked potato. Considering the price, we didn't have high expectations. We were wrong! The food was delicious and the portions were ample. I strongly recommend the Friday night special! Keep in mind, this place is more bar than anything else so the atmosphere is a little loud and busy.

Yelp
It seems everyone has heard of this Seattle staple. They offer a full bar, entertainment, and a classic bar setting. We had 2 drinks, a BLT club sandwich, and the Mac n cheese. $80. Which is a bit expensive for bar food, so consider your budget when dining here.

Renee Z.

Yelp
Wish I could rate a 0, the staff thinks they own a 5 star club in Miami. The karaoke staff thinks they are the hottest DJ in Vegas. This place is a joke. They like regulars who are 45+, and don't really tend to anyone else. I have tried going here a handful of times....each time is a huge let down.

Yelp
There's a number of small yet important things I notice in the event of my dining experience. At lunch the other day, I simply walked here from work hoping for the best. Bartender, Woody, was quick to greet me and tell me specials and some things to notice off of the menu. Got me my drink quickly and kept coming over, despite having lots of customers, to see if I had any questions or was ready to order. Upon ordering the burger, which was amazing by the way, without me asking he brought me a glass of water because he said he knows the burgers are salty. Those are the small things that show the true pros at what they do and enhance a dining experience. Good food, cool place, and really good service.

Yelp
I have so many feelings about this place. I'm usually here drinking with my friends on the weekend so food isn't really on the top of our list haha. It's very different here on the weekend then the random week day we decided to stop in for dinner. I lied we've had wings here and that's what brought us in because the wings are pretty decent. Anywho it was a monday when we stopped in. Got a pitcher of modelo since it was Modelo Monday and steak haha. Wings are always so good here, my friend ordered the nacho and that was huge when it came out. Me and another decided to try the NY steak special and that was not bad at all. Surprising a lot better than I had expected. For $15 it came out with two sides and garlic bread. Id say that's a win because I had lunch the next day haha. It's still a bar so dont assume from my review this is top notch food quality, it's just a lot better than all the other food I've ever had at dive bars.

Yelp
Great food, excellent service and the perfect dive bar atmosphere! Our group of six shared 3 appetizers and each had an entree/sandwich. Food was hot, well prepared and tasty after a day of travel. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Great place, nice afternoon!

Yesenia M.

Yelp
Staff has no problem touching you here Don't come don't support lack of consent. Overpriced and very plain vibe

Yelp
What used to be a cool place has now gone downhill. The remodel leaves me wishing for the days of Dana and the mini bar. Dancing is awkward and can't seem to get a critical mass. Ah well. To all good things and all that jazz!

Yelp
Disclaimer: Rating Ozzie's as a bar to visit in the event there's a big sports game or it's past 10pm. I've been here past 10pm and my recent visit was during the College Football Championship game. We ordered food during the game, and the food was below average. The onion rings were surprisingly good (albeit, the crunchy-ness was missing). The service was okay during the game, they messed up getting my friend Honey Mustard and Waffle Fries, instead giving regular fries and Ketchup. They never changed it. But it had friendly energy during the game, every table was taken, but not too crowded! If you're looking for a meal, I recommend visiting other places. If you're looking for a drink during the game or at night with friends, it's worth a visit if you're nearby (sometimes they have karaoke nights).

Yelp
What. Terrible place to be, we were just arriving at the bar and all of the sudden the security refuse service to people. That is not how customer should be treated
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
This is a giant sports bar. The menu is very lengthy. Street parking is only available. They have a great happy hour. They have pool tables and other activities to do. The service there was absolutely dismal. The bartender took our order for drinks and never came back. We had to go chase her down, and when we asked about our drinks, she gave us attitude. I would like to try this place again, to try the food. I just hope the service gets a lot better.

Declan T.

Yelp
Food is decent... people not even close. Politely asked a question, was hung up on... then when calling back was hung up on.. given yall a ton of business and that ends now
google avatar

Steven Z.

Yelp
Definitely deserves higher than 3 stars, unless you're judging solely on food alone. I came here a few times for trivia but there's karaoke too. The bartender makes a mean piña colada (it's on the sweet side). I had their PB&J burger, to which they say "Don't knock it till you try it!". The combination is neither amazing nor terrible. Think of it like this -- people eat turkey with cranberry sauce, and Thai food often uses peanut sauce. Came with a hefty side of salad. I would ask for dressing on the side as they're pretty generous with the ranch.

Zoe R.

Yelp
Hosted a 120 person pre-baseball event for a client of mine and it went amazing! The staff were lovely, security was incredibly helpful, and the owners Kathy & Joe were super stars throughout the event and beforehand. We will definitely be coming back again!

Yelp
Husband brought me here to hang out. What a nice resort and food was great. We played pool and listened to music and people watched.

Yelp
TLDR; this place has an employee who puts his hands on and pushes patrons when the situation does not call for physical contact, and staff has stated that their policy is to specifically target people of color and only pat them down before they enter the bar. Do not recommend. Went here with my boyfriend and 2 friends who were in town for the night. Both of the guys in our group were patted down at the door, us females were not. Pretty typical at some bars, no biggie. After entering the bar, I watched door security let 4 white males, not all in the same group, enter without patting them down. I walked back out and asked the door security why my group was patted down (all of us being people of color) but the white guys were not. I was told only males were patted down to avoid a lawsuit. Still doesn't explain why 4 males were just let in that we're not patted down if that's the procedure. A second employee (the one pictured) came out at that point and said they can pat down whoever they want and pushed me aside by my arm. There was absolutely no reason for the employee to touch me, let alone push me. Later that night as my group was leaving because it was closing time, the same employee in the photo, grabbed my boyfriend and pushed him stating everyone needed to leave because the bar was closing. We were already walking to the front door just like everyone else in the bar who was filing out. This employee is on a power trip and puts his hands on patrons when it's unwarranted and uncalled for which is a lawsuit waiting to happen. After exiting and standing on the sidewalk waiting for our Uber, I asked another employee why they were only patting down people of color all night. The employee told me that's their procedure because historically it's been people of color who bring weapons into places. I asked him if he was saying they blatantly target black and brown people coming into the bar and he said yes. I asked why it was ok to let patrons in and have them get high out out of their minds on cocaine in the bathroom (our table was next to the men's room and the door was open a majority of the time and I watched this happen the entire time we were there) knowing that drugs and alcohol isn't the best combination and can lead to bad choices, but these patrons were not patted down for weapons and he said it's their choice on who they choose to identify as a problem coming in the door. I have this entire conversation in audio recording. Zero stars. Would not recommend.

Yelp
Never go here. minors are being served to the point they are throwing up outside and passed out. the bouncers also are touching girls inappropriately. GROSS should be shut down.

Tony G.

Yelp
Checked this out a couple of time. Friday DJ was cool. Good hangout but bouncers? Ouch

Arianna A.

Yelp
Horrible first experience there. Just bad vibes all around. The bartenders were creepy and I didn't feel safe. The drinks were mediocre and I won't be back for sure

Yelp
Ozzie's presents a solid night out in seattle. The food is definitely not part of the draw, but it has a youthful and energetic environment and fairly priced drinks by seattle standards. It has two floors, with a Karaoke setup on both floors. The back right section of the bar turns into a live DJ/dance floor, while the upstairs is mostly dedicated to the karaoke with a large area for hanging around chatting with people with a bunch of hightops set up. It can be extremely difficult to get a drink on a Friday or a Saturday night, but be patient and don't be egregious in your attempts to get the bartenders attention (people forget this one), and you'll be served before long. As I mentioned it has two floors, both with a bar, so it might be in your best interest to check and see if the other floor is shorter. The Bouncers, as some other reviews mentioned, aren't super nice, but it's a pretty chaotic bar and I'm not surprised by their behavior particularly late at night.

Linnea B.

Yelp
I had my birthday at Ozzie's and aaron was a great karaoke host. Our server, Carl, took great care of us and was super warm and friendly. Amazing experience
google avatar

Austin S.

Yelp
I eat here very often for my lunch breaks, their service is kind, their food is good (I ALWAYS get the biscuits and gravy) and I will be probably going there again for lunch today!

Joshua C.

Yelp
Best experience ever! I'm visiting Seattle and wo what true 5 star Dive Bar! Loved the food, the place and the karaoke. Ok now to the best part. The experience wouldn't have been the same without Karl. Karl was the absolute best. She is amazing and provided most amazing service. She made Ozzie's the best experience with my entire trip. When you go ask for Karl!
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
If you love a good dive bar, then Ozzie's is the place for you! Was there this past weekend for karaoke and had an absolutely fantastic time. The music, food and service were all fantastic. I'll be a repeat customer for sure.

Luke S.

Yelp
The food was good, and the staff was friendly. It's a casual diner style restaurant. I will definitely go back.

Ayako I.

Yelp
I got my drink spiked here and I was passed out on the floor and nobody helped me. The bouncer also did not help me at all and did not try and catch the guy who tried to get at me. As a girls girl I would not go here unless u want something bad to happen

Anna L.

Yelp
My drink got spiked and the bouncer was sus. People were mean and they thought our real Ids were underage and called me a cunt
google avatar

Tina T.

Yelp
The service was amazing, the food was so good! Our server was taking care of the entire place alone but including the bar but she was so friendly and patient. She gave us great suggestions and some other helpful info about the area. Try this place definitely you will be glad you did!

Glenn Y.

Yelp
Don't try & sing karaoke unless you have 20 buck bribe money. Waited hour to sing but dj said that's what it takes
google avatar

Kristina B.

Yelp
Not fancy, but the service was great, karaoke a bit nerve wrecking but all part of the "fun". Highly affordable drinks with a good variety of options!
google avatar

Pratima M.

Yelp
A happening spot tucked into the lower Queen Anne area -- they have two levels and I stopped by for a bar trivia quiz (located upstairs) on a Wednesday. The bar was surprisingly packed and karaoke was in full swing by the time we were heading out. The food here is pretty basic bar food -- I got fries to share. The beers are reasonably priced and there's a decent selection. Overall, a fun place to hang with friends!
google avatar

Zac A.

Yelp
Oh man is there a lot to say about Ozzie's... If you're looking for food please DO NOT. The food here is your traditional American bar food, but a half step down. They used to have prime rib night and the thought of having a prime rib from this place is incredibly incomprehensible. Save your stomach the pain of eating here. While I personally have never viewed Ozzie's as a food establishment, the night life here is a solid OK. If you decide to come after hours, expect long waits for drinks, but a friendly staff. Ozzie's excels in that young UNDERAGE college kid vibe. It's great if you want to party with a bunch of 18 year olds...but lacks the decency of an adult establishment. If you're looking for a young karaoke party, this is the place for you. If not, PLEASE, look elsewhere. Karaoke if you arrive after 9:30pm, your song will not be played unless you tip. They use an app, but the DJ seems to disregard it. Geriatric DJ's cater to young women unfortunately. Summary: a lot of UNDERAGE(I can't emphasize this enough), immature people (weekend nights at least), crap food, a lot of room to socialize, friendly staff. If you go in to Ozzie's with these expectations, it'll be a decent time but there are better places to go for nightlife.
google avatar

Yelp
It's a nice dive sports bar. I came here for a Kraken promo. I ended up getting some cool Kraken swag. I also got a cool discount on the nachos because of said Kraken promo. The nachos were good but not amazing. It's kind of inconvienent to park around the area too so overall, it's an ok place to vibe and eat some decent bar food.

Danielle H.

Yelp
I asked the karaoke person if I was next. He decided to lie to the manager on call and say i said "f you." That never happened. The manager in charge said the guy was new and he would handle it. Instead he came back and accused me of saying "f you" to the guy when I never said that. I said forget this and left. He started shouting at me "f me" again I didn't say that but at this point I was so upset I said yeah f you too cuz they refused to stop trying to put words in my mouth i never said. I'll never be back after the disrepesct I received from an employee that lied about me. I don't know if the guy was racist or just drunk. I was polite and respectful the entire time I was in the karaoke section. I left the karaoke section in tears and was treated like crap.

Jason T.

Yelp
I was here a few weeks ago and the most disturbing thing happened. I was in the bathroom when this drunk kid came out of the stall and began punching the paper towel dispenser while yelling and laughing with his friend. I could tell both guys were drunk and it was only a matter of time before something happened. Thankfully, within a few minutes one of security guards walked in. Security looks at the kids (who were still punching the towel dispenser and yelling) and asks "what are you doing pounding on that you're going to break it and I doubt you'll pay us for it." The kid stops, looks at him, proceeds to drop his drink on the ground and say, "whatever get some f****** paper towels then" the security guard told them that it was time for them to leave since they were destroying property and dropping drinks. This was not received and drunk kid #2 stepped up and began punching the towel disorder. Security got both kids out of the bathroom and escorted them to the bar and even got them water. They drank the water but refused to leave. Then it got scary. The two drunk kids began yelling at the security guard saying "you ain't shit but a b**** a**security guard. You're not the police or the owner clock off let's go outside." Security calmly said I will have you removed and the drunk kid then threatened to kill him if he touched him or had him removed. I kept my distance and watched as they all walked outside. I was nervous the security guy was still by himself. I'm not sure exactly went down outside but I saw/heard the owner scream at the security guard to go inside and kept pointing at the door. The owner then starts talking to the kids walks down the street with them and then LETS THEM BACK IN!! They go right back to the bar, order more drinks and continue harassing the same security guard. I honestly don't know how this guy didn't lose it on them. Well that was enough for me and my friends we paid our tab and left. I'm shocked that the owner let drunk 1 and drunk 2 back and into the bar and risked the lives of his employees and guests for a quick dollar. Not to mention undermining his security guard who did a great job. Ozzie's it is not a 5 star dive bar try 1 star smelly swamp pit. These kids lied on their reviews prompting me to write this and tell the full story. Also I have been coming here for years and many of these reviews are about the old security team. I haven't had any issues with the new guys just how the owner treats his employees and costumers!

Sophia V.

Yelp
This place is pretty fun for college people looking for a fun night out. It's kind of like a karaoke bar/club. It is a two-story building, the first floor is where you can find the DJ/dance floor and the second floor is where the karaoke area is. I'm only rating this as three stars because every time I go there, I feel like the bartenders are severely understaffed as you have to wait to grab a drink. Me and my friend stood at the bar for 15 minutes to get our drinks. And it wasn't even that crowded. Overall, the music is a hit or miss. Sometimes they play good stuff other times it's okay. Still a really good place to hang with friends, dance and get a good drink. One thing I love about Ozzies is there Jello syringe shots. I haven't seen that anywhere else and I think it's really unique to this bar.

David M.

Yelp
They overcharged me by $20. All I ordered was Pizza Fries, a glass of cider, and the Sex on the Beach cocktail. There's no way that all totals to $53, even with a 18% tip. Tried contacting them, said they'd forward to owners, who haven't gotten back a week later. I called again, and just a repeat.
google avatar

Stephanie E.

Yelp
While the place itself is probably visually better suited for the dark of night, the food and service are fantastic. Our server was Shay and he honestly anticipated our needs. The portions were huge and my kid said it was the best Mac and cheese ever. I'd post a pic of our food. But we ate it too fast.

Robert W.

Yelp
If it wasn't for rudeness, I'd give this bar a decent rating. My friend reached over to hug a friend and a man with a security shirt walked into her drink and proceeded to lecture her for a solid 2 minutes. Yes, she could have been more careful, but she wasn't drunk, it was a simple accident. He was furious over water on his forearm! I asked a bartender about it and he defended his coworker. As the one sober person in the bar, I found this rude and ridiculous. Had he scolded her gently and then moved on, we wouldn't have an issue. I approached him and tried to explain what happened and he yelled at me and lectured me. I finally dropped it before he either hit me or kicked me out. Beware of security with a chip on his shoulder. On top of this, they missed no my wrist and stamped my jacket, and now I can't get the stain out (The person stamping noticed this and didn't say a thing).
google avatar

Lia L.

Yelp
We came in here randomly on a Monday night. This place does karaoke every night and that night was no different. Good energy. I got the chicken strips and the server was very friendly. They celebrate birthdays so if you have one and want karaoke, this would be a great spot!

Cori S.

Yelp
My daughter and her friend were drugged here last night. They each had one drink at the bar, which was handed to them from the bartender. Not sure if it was the bartender or a guy they noticed standing by the bar. When they returned home, they were both completely out of it. Vomiting, slurring, confused, upset and considering going to the ER. They literally had one Vodka Tonic. Just beware, ladies, and don't take your eyes off your drinks.

Luke G.

Yelp
If you're here for any reason on purpose you might need to get new friends Not gonna be negative about them in a specific way. It's just a place you don't want to be in if you have good friends.

Aaron B.

Yelp
Men's bathroom upstairs stall does not lock. Otherwise it was quite fun. Cheap drinks, good times
google avatar

Dustin R.

Yelp
Awful management, awful service. Do not come here unless you want your night ruined..

Thelegendary M.

Yelp
**AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST**. The security guards here are extremely unprofessional where they are beating the crap out of a random guy outside the jurisdiction of the bar. After a different person tried splitting up the fight since the security guard had 0 to no control, he punched the other person in the face and split his lip. The guy breaking up the fight had to go to the hospital, and the guy recording the entire interaction had his new phone broken by another security guard while recording in a public street, it's his first amendment right. very unstructured and unprofessional.
google avatar

Joy H.

Yelp
Great chicken wings and local watering hole. Many food and drink options with a fun atmosphere.
google avatar

Jenny D.

Yelp
Same your time, energy, and money. It's not worth going to a place where they can't respect you nor do the bare minimum...providing quality service to their customers. The vibes are not it.

Hassan D.

Yelp
Tried to report sexual harassment (a random guy kept grabbing a girl I was with's butt), and the bartenders kicked me out. I didn't yell, didn't start anything with the guy grabbing butt, just mentioned to the bartender, "hey is there anything you guys can do about this dude who keeps sexually harassing a girl I'm with?" John (the bartender) then started yelling at me to "get the f out of his bar with that" So I guess if you like to sexually harass people, it's 5 stars. If you don't, 0 stars.
