We came here because the wait at Sally’s was over an hour. The pizza is great! We ordered 4 pies and the toppings were all fresh and delicious, no canned mushrooms like some other places. Loved the thin crust and sauce too! Next time I will ask for a light bake, but if you like the New Haven charred crust they do it really well. Staff were super friendly and helpful too!

Google
If you love thin crust brick oven pizza without it being excessively charred definitely go here. Sauce is good and so is the cheese! We added Mike’s Hot Honey it was a bit overwhelming for us but we should have specified just a drizzle! But we will definitely come back. Staff was nice, they could have been a little more friendly but everyone doesn’t have an explosive personality.

Located right inside East Rock Market. This is my first time going to Ozzy’s and it definitely won’t be my last. Pizza and service is great. Pizza was made in an orderly and fast fashion. Great atmosphere and people!

I was craving pepperoni pizza with mikes honey hot and ozzys delivered. Everything was amazing. Also the staff was super friendly and great with my kids. The pizza is like a mixture of colony and Sally’s. The cheese and crust were cooked well but not burnt. Also the food hall itself was awesome. I cannot wait to go back.

This is my new favorite pizza spot. Great prices and even better pizza. The cheese pizza is probably the most flavorful cheese pizza around (thanks to their killer sauce) and the pepperoni, bacon and garlic was just phenomenal. They only do 14” pies (think medium sized) and it’s only $15 for a cheese or a 10” personal pies Monday through Friday during lunch hours. Great service, great ingredients and cooked to perfection. Can’t say enough good things about it and they have a ton of specials I’m looking forward to trying like the Gene Parmesan. I only wish they were closer to where I live so I could get them more often.

Google
Ozzy’s apizza was excellent. I’m so glad I found this place bc of other great reviews on my way back to NY. My son and I both agreed it’s way better than Pepe’s. So fresh and crispy it’s really top notch! Deserves a lot more credit.

Google
Unfortunately I have to knock this place down a rung. Pizza was not bad by any means, but we had Atticus pizza at the same time and there was no comparison. As someone who holds the word “apizza” in high regard this missed the mark. Sally’s, Frank Pepe, De Legna (and now Atticus I guess) in a separate category.

We were coming back from Madison CT with two young kids and it was an amazing place to take a pit stop for incredible pizza with fast and friendly service. Craig was helpful behind the counter and the pizzaiola (didn’t catch her name) even sliced some of the pizza smaller to accommodate the kids without us asking. It was easy to park and fair priced. A great experience all around. I am wishing them much success. I would recommend to anyone with a mouth.

Yelp
The best pizza we've had in a while! The pizza is not greasy, the dough is so yummy. I enjoyed the salad as well. We will def be back. My husband loved it as well.

Yelp
Ozzy's Apizza is a fantastic new addition to East rock market. Their flagship restaurant is in California and I know it caused even me an initial concern that somebody would be claiming apizza. We tried three different pies; The Mikey rabbit. Buffalo chicken, and pepperoni. The Mikey rabbit and the white rabbit are their fundraising pies currently to support the LA wildfire relief. All the pies were amazing. They focus on quality like creating their own cheese and making their own buffalo sauce and ricotta cream sauce. Lou has been making pizzas in New Haven for many years and it definitely transferred to a great pie at Ozzy's!

Yelp
This may be one of the weirder reasons ever for ordering a pizza. I was on my way from Hartford County to an event in East Haven, and I needed to break a $50. LOL. That's not exactly the whole story. I like to try all the New Haven Ahbeetz spots and Ozzy's, located in East Rock Market, is probably the newest in the game. There's seating if you want to stay in the Market, You can also take your pizza next door to East Rock Beer. Or you can just take it out. I ordered a Zack Attack. Extra Sausage (ground Spicy Italian). Classic pizza Mozzarella. Red sauce. I had two slices as soon as the pizza cooled a bit. The crust was very thin, but held up pretty well on the crust fold flop test. There was some char in the crispy outer crust ring. The rest of the crust was relatively char-free, and a mix of crispy with a good slight chewiness. The cheese was melted well and married with the red sauce. The sauce got a bit lost among the other ingredients, but when I was able to isolate it, I could tell it was well executed. The crumbled sausage was tasty. The pizza was very good on Night 1. And I have to make a weird claim. At least this Ozzy's pizza, yielded some of the best leftover cold slices I can remember eating this year. The crust held up really well to refrigeration. The flavors stayed and relaxed. This makes Ozzy's a great grab and stash pizza in the colder months as you're doing things around New Haven. 4.5 Stars

Yelp
Superb pizza...thin crispy crust...love it! It's located in a converted warehouse with other food vendors. Very relaxing, neighborhood place!

Yelp
Home delivery only for me so far. The pizza quality is very good. I've ordered a few times and the pizza tastes almost like Modern. The pizza at Ozzy's is well done in Modern language just FYI and that's how I usually like it. Home delivery option is a real plus and I don't have to remember to place my order hours in advance to pick up. My favorite pie is the Zack Attack with sausage.

Yelp
Pizza was delicious. Service was great. Owner was there and was very personable and you can tell he has a passion for his food. The pizza was top notch!

Yelp
Ozzy's was great! The service was incredibly friendly, the pizza was delicious (as was the Caesar salad), and it's located in a complex with a few other shops and a beer garden. We were able to take our food to the beer garden to eat, but you're also able to eat at the restaurant. Very cute and clean. We'll definitely come back if we're in the area!

Yelp
Opening an apizza place in New Haven takes guts. Ozzy's is in a food hall called East Rock Market (park on Nicoll St.- we had trouble finding it from GPS directions). There is outdoor seating on a parklet outside but we sat inside at tables that are shared with a coffee shop and a sushi restaurant (and a bar that might not be open yet). The person at the counter told us we had the option to eat there or take buzzers and go next door to the brewery. The best part of this apizza is the New Haven thin crust. It's made in a brick oven and has the authentic burned edges. It's best when it's fresh out of the oven-- that first bite when the cheese has just stopped bubbling is fantastic. Another reviewer mentioned the sauce was too in-your-face: the sauce on the pizza I ate was applied sparingly which gave it the right amount of tomato acid, not too much. The only thing I would change is the mozzarella: I wanted it to taste fresher. With our pizza, we had locally made soda (birch beer-yum) and locallly baked cookies from Cookie39 which is also in New Haven. Overall, it was in a great location, good thin-crust New Haven apizza, with nice extras. Also it's named after a dog.

Yelp
To open a new pizza place in New Haven is gutsy. But these New Haven natives have pulled it off. Their spinach ricotta pie was so well spiced and baked. Also tried the meat special pie and I'm impressed. Their crust was thin and crispy, just like apizza should be. The sauce was super tasty. A very welcome addition to the New Haven scene - and perfectly located next to East Rock Brewery.

Yelp
I really want to like Ozzy's, but I just didn't think it was very good. The crust is pretty decent, but the sauce is overwhelming with oregano. It tastes like Elio's frozen pizza. It's hard to comment on anything about the pizza because the sauce was just so overwhelming, I couldn't taste much else. The staff were friendly, but the East Rock Market space continues to feel very empty. There was no one at the bar and the sushi counter is now vacant. I hoped Ozzy's would be the spot to liven it all up, but I don't think their pizza is going to attract much attention with so many heavy hitters in the area (e.g., Atticus, Modern, Next Door, all within walking distance).

Yelp
We were fortunate enough to stumble into the grand opening weekend of Ozzy's Apizza Sunday night. We'd traveled from Vermont earlier in the day and were weighing our New Haven dining options--friends and family had weighed in with their favorite apizza joints in the area, but Ozzy's caught our eye mainly since we, like owner Chris Wallace, have a pup by the same name (yes, we laughed, we also call him "Ozzy Pawsborn" in homage to Black Sabbath... but I digress). Admittedly, this was our first New Haven apizza experience, so we ordered both a cheese and a Mikey Rabbit to compare and contrast two different pies. The crew at the counter were so genial and friendly and guided us toward the second pie (which had been the one I was eyeing anyway), saying they'd all eaten it earlier for dinner themselves. We headed over to the East Rock Brewery with our dinner and were blown away with both pies, but especially the Mikey Rabbit--the ricotta cream provided a rich, buttery base, the sausage was perfection, and the spinach was to die for. Chris came over and checked on us; he *may* have referred to the pie as their "secret weapon" and I completely agree. We joked that our dog Ozzy always loves to get our pizza crusts, but there was no way we would have shared these with him--it was too damn good. It was a memorable evening out, and I wish we didn't live so far away! So glad fate led us to Ozzy's Apizza--through a harrowing thunder storm, I might add--and we wish them much success in their new venture.

Yelp
Best pizza I've had in a long time. It was thin, crispy and delicious. Cannot wait to order again. And they're on door dash, so convenient.

Yelp
Just ordered on DoorDash yesterday it was soo good pizza still hot, crust was thin and cooked to perfection the pizza was amazingly good all the flavors totally connected. I ordered the Swanson and my daughter and son loved the Philly cheese steak egg rolls everything were great. Only thing that can be even more amazing is if y'all had more soda or juice options but everything else was on point thank you !

Yelp
Great new spot for authentic New Haven pies. Sauce was not too overpowering, crust was crispy but not burnt to a rock. Beautiful undercarriage. Delicious to the last bite. The place is small but has a lot to offer. Among other things, inside you can find a brewery where you can wait for your apizza, or you can hang with the delightful staff. Overall a great stop for anyone close to East rock market. Check it out if you have the chance.

Yelp
i would say this is probably the best pizza place in new haven after pepe's, and i really appreciate that they basically just make pizza. a lot of my local pizza places have gotten into those sprawling menus with 200 items, and as a result their pizza is just okay. this is /excellent/ pizza, you just have to buy pizza. definitely gonna take my cousin from LA here, and ask him to try the cali location to see if it's as good.

Julia M.

Yelp
My friends LOVED the pizza! Nice thin crust! Great atmosphere and had delicious tacos and guacamole next door at the other restaurant in the place.

Molly P.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible pie and experience! When you walk up to place your order, you're treated with the kindness and respect you'll only get from New Haven's finest- Craig and Lou, thank you for the best meal I could have on one of my worst days. I felt the love in every bite of the delicious pie. As an Elm City gal, I know my apizza and this spot hits it! A billion thanks!

Ethan B.

Yelp
Great apizza! Easily on par (maybe even better) with its New Haven apizza peers. Perfect flop on the crust, great sauce and high quality mozz. I really like how it's conveniently located in the East Rock Market. Very convenient getting to order pizza while drinking at East Rock brewing. Much better than waiting outside in-line at Sally's or Pepe's. I also love how they're on InKind!

Randall T.

Yelp
Nothing but great things to say about Ozzys Apizza. Staff always amazing. Location was great plenty of parking. Cool little hall with many options other than pizza. Of course had to get the plain cheese to truly she just how good this pizza was. AMAZING! And got the Mikey rabbit also because who dosent love some fresh garlic! The vibe was awesome and the wrestling themed logos on the shirts were great! Only negative is that Chris guy wasn't there for me to say hi too. He was off opening his 3rd location. Will definitely make the hour drive again.

James K.

Yelp
I had the Mikey rabbit this afternoon, what could I say this pie was awesome. I ordered the Mega powers pie to take home for dinner. I can't wait to sample this pie. I sure I'll be very satisfied. I will be returning with family and friends to show off Ozzy's.

Yelp
Great pizza! Service was top notch! Probably one of the best cheese pizza I've had in along time. Sauce was amazing. Can't wait to swing through again. This gonna be my new spot for pizza when I come back to visit CT!

Yelp
Delicious pizza, friendly staff, and a great location. We ordered pizza and walked it next door to the brewery and enjoyed it with some beer. The White Rabbit pizza was outstanding. Highly recommend!

Nicholas J.

Yelp
Greasy pizza that is not on par for New Haven. Maybe this passes as good pizza in LA, and maybe it satisfies the drunk munchies after you have been at East Rock Brewery for a few hours, but this is not pizza to write home about. Walk down the street a block to 163 for significantly better pies, or drive a few blocks to Modern for the top of the top.

Michael M.

Yelp
I love Chris and what he has done is incredible! This is the best pizza LITERALLY in the United States. Ambiance is priceless and the staff is as kind as your grandmother. This is your new REGULAR spot.

Tom D.

Yelp
Posted on Google as well: Move over New Haven icons....Tried this thru DD delivery this week and it was excellent in every way.

Take D.

Yelp
The kind of "New Haven"'style pizza you'r expect to find anywhere but New Haven/Connecticut.

Ethan F.

Yelp
Quality pizza! The sauce is delicious and it complimented the crust very well. The hint of oregano was perfect.
