Best Filipino Restaurants in Austin | Eater Austin

"In southern Kyle, this food truck offers a taste of Southeast Asia to counter the steadily growing barbecue scene. Expect all the classics like pork adobo, lumpia rolls, fried rice, and even a traditional Filipino breakfast, complete with spam. With a side of rolls and rice, Pabern’s plates are an ideal way to sample more of its menu with a selection of pancit (chicken noodles), pork adobo, pork BBQ skewers, and Filipino spaghetti, a sweeter version of Italian bolognese. While there are a few picnic tables with umbrellas, you can also get your order to-go and sip on a taro boba smoothie as you wait to take home some adobo to your abode." - Clara Wang

Absolutely delicious! Pabern’s Kitchen in Kyle, TX is a hidden gem! The food was fresh, flavorful, and made with real care; you can taste it in every bite. What really made the experience stand out was the owner. So friendly and welcoming she took the time to chat with us, made sure everything was perfect, and you could tell they’re passionate about what they do. It felt more like visiting a friend’s kitchen than just stopping by a food truck. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and craving something truly satisfying!

I can’t eat pork and I think there was a communication issue because the owner insisted I order the combo A- even after I told her I can only eat chicken. Normally I could ignore the pork rolls but my noodles came with NO chicken at all just veggies and noodles. She was nice but for how much I paid I should be getting more than seasoned noodles and rice. 😞

Wow, what a treat! I dove into the Pork Adobo and sipped on a Taro Boba drink, and let me tell you, my taste buds are still dancing! The Pork Adobo? Pure magic—tender, juicy, and packed with bold, savory flavors that hit all the right spots. Paired with the creamy, perfectly sweet Taro Boba, it was a match made in foodie heaven. This place is an absolute gem, and I’m counting down the days until my next visit! Trust me, you need to eat here—your stomach will thank you!

Following my doctor's appointment, I decided to grab lunch at 'Pabern's Food Truck', a Filipino establishment. The food was delectable and the cooking skills of the chef were impressive. The prices were fair, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying meal. Make sure to come with an appetite, as the portions are generous. I enjoyed pork adobo with rice, eggrolls, and pancit noodles, which were all absolutely delicious and fulfilled my cravings.

I was so lucky to have stumbled upon this place by chance. I pulled in one day to get a burger from a different food truck in the same lot, and I looked to my right and found this little gem. It was closed when I arrived, but I came back the next day. I'm so happy I came back. First, the food was delicious. Masarap as my Filipino friends say. Sobrang masarap! I ordered the pork adobo plate. It comes with rice and 6 pieces of lumpia. Lumpia is small wraps similar to egg rolls pero (but) I believe these had ground pork inside and seasoning, maybe little carrot. There was also a delicious, colorful dipping sauce for the lumpia. The pork was moist and not too sweet. There was a generous serving of rice. She even poured some of the juice from the pork onto the rice. It was so good. $15 for a pork adobo plate that will fill you up. Not too mahal (expensive). I also ordered two pieces of pork barbecue for $3.50 each. One was spicy and one was original. Both were very tasty and fun to eat kasi (because) they're on a stick. I really enjoyed the authenticity. Last thing I ordered was a mango smoothie with boba for $7.50. I was not disappointed. There were real mango shavings. The boba was cooked perfectly and tasted so good in such a cold drink. The mango smoothie is a MUST order. There is also a variety of other flavors including avocado. This wouldn't be a proper review if I failed to acknowledge the woman that gave me such an amazing experience. This food truck is owned by a very kind and generous lady named Bernice. She allowed me to practice my Tagalog and tell her a little about my life and experience with her culture. She listened patiently as I spoke and she gave time to appreciate my experience with the Philippines. She made me feel welcome and she gave me advice about my plans to travel there. I'm grateful to have met her and enjoyed her food. Even her daughter was kind and complimented my tattoos. I felt welcome here. The world needs more kind people like her. I hope the Kyle community will show her a lot of love, buy her food, and support her business. It's a good investment in the future of Kyle. Just a note, call the number or message her Facebook page to check on hours before you go there. Sometimes the hours seem to vary. Better to call and make sure she is open before you go.

While browsing around Google for a new place to go to, I found this gem of a food truck. Decided to get combo B&C, as well as Taro boba. We took the order to go and the car ended up smelling so good I couldn't wait and had to eat it while driving. As a fellow Filipina I cannot wait to come back here! It was so delicious 🤤. The owner was so nice and the service was amazing.

Yelp
We stopped by looking to eat some bbq at Bloodworths, but they weren't open yet. We was hungry and didn't want to go much further. Luckily for us, Paburns kitchen was right next door. It's a little on the high side at $15 a plate. I felt that's kind of high for a low overhead food truck. Especially since they skimp on the chicken. As another stated, there was only a few pieces. Nevertheless, it was pretty good. I had the Combo A which was chicken and noodles with cabbage and a rice cake. Also included was lumpia, which was like a fried egg roll filled with chicken. To me it's a mini Philippino flauta. My wife had the pork adobo plate. She liked her plate as well. There's only a couple of tables to sit at outside.

Yelp
The food was savory and delicious at Pabern's. I got the combo #2 which was the chicken stir fry noodles, egg rolls and rice cake. My only negative was the chicken stir fry noodles only included 2.5 tiny pieces of chicken breast. At first I thought they forgot to include it but I realized it was just sparse. I hardly eat filipino food but it was really good.

Yelp
My husband and I pick up food from Pabern's several times a month. We have never been disappointed. Our favorite dish is the pork adobo. It is savory and one plate allows for plenty of leftovers. The puto cakes are to die for and reheat surprisingly well, so don't hesitate to order a few extra.
