Yelp
Visited this establishment for the first time during Seattle Restaurant Week. Their located in Hollywood Vineyards with shared parking with other restaurants.
Casual, family friendly place. They're located by the round about so if you're facing outside, you can easily people/traffic watch.
Not your typical Mexican restaurant where dishes are served with rice and beans.
We ordered from their Seattle Restaurant Week menu -- 3 course meal for $35
Starters:
I had the Shrimp tostada - mango salsa, poblano peppers, jalapeño, red onion, cilantro, coconut, hot sauce, avocado crema. Fresh ingredients, but a bit on the bland side for me.
My companion had the Carnitas spareribs - chilies, pepitas, sesame seed, habanero honey. WOW! Ok, so maybe I thought the Shrimp tostada was bland because I had a taste of this. At every bite, this dish is so flavorful! Just the right amount of heat to entice you to have some more. We were told that this is a special dish for SRW, so don't expect this to be on their regular menu. Although we were told that this dish show up occasionally. So, we are hopeful.
Entrees:
I had the Chicken Tamale - creamy tomatillo salsa, radish, red onions, cotija, crema, cilantro. I'm a sucker for a good tamale! The chicken-tamale ratio is good (just the right amount of tamale). Flavorful and had a nice heat to it.
My companion had the Green chile pork enchilada - smoky red chile salsa, oaxaca and jack cheese, queso fresco, cilantro, sour cream, radish, serrano. Another delicious dish! This dish had a sweet taste (compared to my slightly spicy tamale) and both our entrees complemented each other.
Dessert:
I had the Churro bites with xocalatl chocolate. The churro itself is bland (Costco churro has more taste), but dipped in the xocalatl chocolate, it was yummy!
My companion had the Chocolate tamale - vanilla ice cream, coronado caramel, sea salt. Not your typical dessert yet it was delicious. I would order this again over the Churro bites.
Both dessert weren't too sweet which we liked.
My companion had the Cadillac Margarita, but had it double - campo bravo reposado, grand marnier, lime, salt rim $23 (for double); $16 (regular).
Service was good. Our server was friendly. Will definitely come back to try the other dishes on the menu.
