Once Again, Goa’s Taverns Are the Place to Be | Eater

"In Assagao I visited a taverna the owners opened after taking over the 1968 Vijay Bar, where they kept defining features like the window for handing drinks to people sitting outside, a small balcão, and a low roof that creates a homey atmosphere; they sourced decor from family homes and scrapyards and initially had their mothers cook homestyle dishes such as mutton xacuti and beef croquettes. Today the food has shifted toward popular bar bites, but the drinks are Pablo’s real showcase: an extensive selection including a passionfruit paloma and inventive off-menu concoctions like Liquid Curd Rice (white rum, pineapple, mustard, curry leaves, chile, and curd) and Pastel De Nata (whiskey, custard, vanilla, and cinnamon), and the space hosts events from brand takeovers to Diwali parties." - Joanna Lobo

Visited last night and absolutely loved it! The cocktails were balanced and flavorful, the food was fresh and full of taste, and the whole atmosphere was warm and lively. Great place to unwind and enjoy good company

A cozy spot — more of a chill-out café/bar than a proper dinner place. Perfect for spending a relaxed evening with friends over a small beer and some short eats. The food menu isn’t very wide, but the items we tried were decent. The Pork Cocktail Sausage was good with enough quantity for one person, and the Burnt Garlic Broccoli was okay, though nothing exceptional. Portion sizes overall felt a little small for the price. What I really enjoyed was the beer on tap. The Susegado Dortmund Lager was light, crisp, and super refreshing — perfect for an easy drink. If you like vanilla notes, the Vanilla Porter is worth trying too. Overall: Food ⭐4/5, Ambience ⭐4.5/5.

Pablo’s Bar is the perfect place to enjoy real Goan vibes. They have a good variety of drinks, and the surprising part is how tasty the food is! We ordered Hot Chicken Chilly and Korean Chicken Wings — both were really delicious. The flavors were spot on. It’s a great spot whether you’re with family or friends. If you’re looking for a local bar with good vibes, this place is a must-try. Definitely planning to visit again!

Recommended to me by a friend and it does give a proper bar vibes, not fancy, not too much decoration, very mininaly beautiful. The cocktails have variety and are amazing, especially the local Goan cocktails. Food menu isn't vast but that's a bar for you. Do approach the bartender for recommendations and he will definitely be able to awe you
