Upbeat parlor with a quaint patio serving inventive pizzas, pastas & other hearty Italian eats.
"You know Pace, that excellent old-school Italian place in Laurel Canyon? They have a far more casual second location right at Sunset and Fairfax now, and it’s time you start taking advantage of it. The menu is exactly the same as the original location, there’s an awesome little back patio, and it’s open all-day if you’re in the area looking for a quick lunch situation (you order at the front counter). Oh, and they deliver as well." - Brant Cox
"Pace Joint opened on Sunset Blvd. as a more fast-casual version of Pace, the popular Laurel Canyon Italian restaurant up the road. Most people just order their food as takeout and leave, making their back patio quite the secret. That's where you’ll find a bubbling tiled fountain, comfortable banquettes, and a lot of trees. It’s also open all day starting at 11:30am, making it a great option when you’re with a big group of people who need pizza immediately." - brant cox
"This is a really special one. It's a tiny hole in the wall pizzeria and Italian place next door to my boyfriend's old apartment. When we started dating, we would order from Pace Joint constantly. I would order the hot Italian, not the cold one. This is not a famous restaurant by any means. It's mostly teenagers working there, in my experience, yet this sandwich is one of my favorite things to get because I associate it with the early days of dating my boyfriend, which are really wonderful. The current days are also wonderful of course. It's just that this is the sandwich that I fell in love with him over. We were getting to know each other and we would just sit and eat the sandwich and talk about how wonderful it is. It's perfect bread, hot Italian sausage, and mozzarella. The first time we ordered it, it was an accident. I wanted the cold Italian sandwich, but they gave us the hot. I've never had anything like it." - brennan carley
"The more casual sibling to Pace, Laurel Canyon’s classic Italian spot, Pace Joint serves affordable wood-fired pizzas that you’ll be extremely happy about. Go for the Mamma G’s (pork sausage and caramelized fennel) or the meatball - both are well-balanced, and loaded with toppings. The pizzas also usually arrive quickly, which makes them perfect for when you need to feed a screaming child (or a screaming significant other). Takeout and delivery available." - brett keating
"Everybody knows Pace, the classic Italian restaurant in Laurel Canyon, because everybody’s taken their boss there in the hopes of getting a raise. Not that many people realize, however, there’s a second location down on Sunset with the same menu of solid pizza and pasta, and a far more convenient address if you want quick delivery. And when you’re on your 10th hour of free associating character dialogue, you’re going to need that pizza to arrive as fast as possible." - brant cox, brett keating
