Google
Not a fan of the empanada at all like stew in dough but I love there chicken and sides the ribs are tender fall off the bones a bit on the spicier side but full rack cleared and loved . The employees always seem on edge but the cashier today was nice and had a great personality .

Google
The food was delicious! If you love rotisserie chicken you won’t be disappointed. The spices they used elevated it without being too much. We loved it paired with the black beans! And it’s very close to the riverwalk, perfect for a weekend outing.

Google
Anything I’ve ever ordered as been delicious and unique! Today I had the bowl. It was 5/5 and the natural juice on the side was so refreshing. They have mastered the rotisserie chicken.

Jonathan S.

Google
An absolutely spectacular experience. A great new addition to Main Street that is unique and delicious. The service was excellent and the staff was very informative of the menu. The food came out quick and looked as good as it tasted, amazing. The chicken was moist and seasoned perfectly. The sauces accompanying were a nice addition ranging from mild to spicy. Lastly is was exceptionally good value for what you got. I will definitely be returning.

Google
Overall I was very disappointed as a Peruvian. The rice was hard, very greasy and had no flavor. Consider using ginger when you make the arroz chufa and don't serve it if old, not good business practice. The chicken was okay. I wouldn't recommend to fellow peruvians but someone who doesn't know real peruvian flavors, I guess it'll do, I mean it's Delaware, my expectations weren't high to begin with considering the peruvian population isn't high there.

Jennifer T.

Google
We ordered the beef empanadas, 1/2 chicken w corncake and stir fried rice. Everything is so delicious and we love the mild sauce. We came on a late Saturday afternoon toward the end of their day, they were very friendly! We will definitely be back to try the sweet potato fries and the lo mien.

Google
Excellent rotisserie chicken! So fresh and flavorful! Will definitely be back again! Very impressed how the food was displayed. Very hygienic, as well!

Google
My first bite was mouthwatering food is so good. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Little hole in the wall joint at the market in Delaware. The Peruvian chicken is juicy and flavorful. I was gonna say it wasn't too busy here. It made me wonder if it ever gets busy here. Couple different places to choose from produce all indoors. If there was any drawback, I would say being charged two dollars for extra sauce. Sometimes I get a little overzealous, I really didn't need the extra sauce. But two dollars? 4/5

Yelp
While we're not Peruvian food experts, we've tried this place a few times.. -The Guacamole: 4 stars (was freshly made & comes with a small bag of tortilla chips) -The Chicken: 3 ish stars We were a little disappointed in their chicken. Don't get us wrong, it was good, but the breast meat could have been a little more tender. Plus, $26 for a whole chicken, that basically tasted like super-market rotisserie chicken, but with a more exotic rub, seems a little over priced to us. (But they do atleast give you a huge serving of steamed veggies, a side salad, and 3 decent sized mayo-based dipping sauces. The green sauce tasted bright & herbal, the pink one was spicy, & the yellow one more neutral) - The Ribs: 2 stars We were very disappointed in their babyback ribs. The sauce was watery, with a mediocre flavor, and the rib meat was mushy yet somehow also tough. They tasted like they were boiled or just thrown in the oven. No char. No smoke. Nothing special in the least. (They tasted more like cheap ribs you'd get in some ghetto convenience store. ) Even though the full rack was only $22, we would never buy these again. -The Fries: 3-4 stars While I didn't eat the fries that came with the ribs, my husband said they were good. - The Staff: 3-4 stars Pleasant to neutral. Efficient, and our take out orders have always been ready on time, with no mistakes. - Vibes: 3-4 stars Casual, clean, and the historic Riverfront Market is mellow & charming. (While you're waiting for your food, you can go upstairs & look at large photos on the wall that show what WIlmington was like 100 yrs ago. Plus, there are plenty of tables in the food court area.)

Yelp
Stopped by the riverfront market to grab dinner and Peruvian Chicken quickly caught our eye. So much to choose from but we will get our chicken and rice meals again!

Yelp
Pachama Rotisserie Chicken doesn't actually have chicken. At least that was my experience today when I came here based on the reviews. They were out of chicken. At 1p on a Saturday. Why are you guys even open then?
google avatar

Melanie V.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in the state of Delaware! I especially loved their steak empanadas, one of the best empanadas I've ever had!! Serving sizes are plentiful so definitely come hungry.Their maracuyá drink is very delicious and fresh too. Will be my go to spot for peruvian food.
google avatar

Yelp
I just arrived in Wilmington De and wanted something delicious but not standard carb filled takeout. I got a quarter dark meat roasted chicken with steamed veggie and a side salad. So so good! Deep flavors, crispy skin and juicy meat. The veggies were fresh steamed and not frozen; and the salad was a good size and very fresh. Loved it and will go again! You should give it a try!
google avatar

Tysha S.

Yelp
Wanted some Peruvian food and searched for one nearby. Pachamama was the first to come up and they had delivery. I'm on a staycation for spring break so that was perfect. They had exactly what we wanted to eat..."chaufa". It was delicious and this will definitely be added to our restaurant list!!!! We also ordered plantains, beef empanadas and alfajores. I had never had them and really enjoyed them.
google avatar

Adam S.

Yelp
I've eaten here twice now. Once for lunch pre-COVID and recently for take out. We got the meal for 2 combo thinking it would be a nice combination of choices. The salad for 2 was about half of a side salad for 1. The lettuce rotten and clear. We threw it out. Sides were supposed to be plantains and roasted potatoes. The plantains were perfect and a decent portion. The potatoes were literally 4 tiny circles. Maybe half of a small potato. The steak was cooked properly and was the highlight of the proteins. The chicken was insanely salty. We've had a lot of Peruvian chicken, this is not how it is supposed to taste. The beef skewers were fine, nothing special. The sausage was dry as a bone. Top it all off we all had intestinal issues that night. We won't be back.

Pattie K.

Yelp
Had Lomo Saltado (beef and fries) Causa (mashed potatoes with chicken) and beef empanadas and they were all delicious- tops!!! Service very friendly and lots of tables to sit and eat. Although we live an hour away we were there at the train station and am happy I discovered it.

Yelp
Second visit here because I enjoyed the dinner so much a few months ago that I returned for brunch. It was Sunday early afternoon and we were seated immediately. Waitress was extremely friendly but she did forget my husband's order. He asked which bfast entree was recommended between the steak bowl and another steak skillet entree and she recommended the skillet. He decided against what she recommended and ordered the bowl yet she brought back the skillet. When he inquired she apologized, laughed, and said "I'm sorry I was hoping you wouldn't notice." She was sweet and did offer to bring the correct order but we were halfway through with food. Food was also cold (below room temperature). I will definitely return for dinner so I can give this restaurant another star. Note: the yucca fries are amazing :)
google avatar

Katarina S.

Yelp
Ah-mazing!!! I went with a group of friends and got chicken and fried yucca. The chicken is one of the best I've tried - cooked to perfection with a crispy and not overly salted skin. Fried yucca was delicious, so were the sauces. I got corn rice pudding for dessert; it tasted really good, but the corn was really sweet, a bit too sweet for my taste. For a drink I got passion fruit/maracuya pisco and whereas it wasn't that strong, it tasted good. Service wasn't excellent as the waitress was picking up plates while other people were eating but everything else was fine. The chicken is so delicious that it makes all these flaws nonexistent! I will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Yummy! This was the first time I tried this place and I was impressed! I got these dishes as catering items for a meeting and it was great! Tasty potatoes were definitely amazing. The smooth and flavorful potatoes with avocado and chicken! Absolutely amazing side dish! The roasted chicken was a hit. The spices were perfectly flavorful and chicken cooked to perfection. Not dry at all. Even the White rice was good. I think they cooked it with garlic oil or something, because that in itself was good with the chicken The Cuzco salad was not my favorite. While I did like the quinoa, lettuce, cheese and mint combination, I was not a big fan of the fava beans. They were so large and strong in flavor that overpowered the salad. Don't forget the sauces!!! We had a variety of sauces that I cannot remember the names for. But each was unique in spices and flavor. Goes well with the chicken and the rice. I wanted to get their churros for the meeting, but was slightly out of the budget at that point. Overall I was super satisfied and can't wait to go back to try out more!

Yelp
Just happened upon Pachamama and was so glad I did! The whole chicken and fried rice were delicious. And the potato salad was out of this world! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
This food makes me want to salsa all the way to Peru. MUST GETS: - Beef Empa-mamas - Yucca Fries - Chica Morada - Chicken (obviously) - more yucca fries (legit, to-die-for) - Pisco Sours (the real deal, apparently) Definitely a gem in the middle of Newark, DE - good vibes, good food, and good drinks, you can't beat that! 10/10 would recommend!!
google avatar

Arturo A.

Yelp
Great Peruvian healthy fast food option, strongly recommend this place! Make sure you get the chicha morada drink!

Mandy B.

Yelp
Yum! I love everything about this restaurant, we go here every time we go to Newark, the food is that delicious! Even if we aren't hungry! They have the best classic ceviche, we get it every time. It is perfectly seasoned and the portion sizes are enough to eat as a entrée or share with the table. I recommend trying the rotisserie seasoned chicken with all of their house made sauces, just that alone will keep you coming back for more. The chicken also travels well if you want to take it home and eat it later. I always order extra for leftovers! All of the food and drinks here are delicious, I recommend stopping by and giving it a try!

Yelp
Not bad food but I'm not super excited. Shrimp gumbo tasted homey and clean but didnt have a zest good taste. Quite plain Steak ok but wasn't as soft as claimed in a description.

Yelp
I miss Pachamama - really well-run restaurant that's great to eat in or take out. Usual order is quarter chicken, avocado salad, rice and beans, and sweet plantains. They have three sauces (red, green, yellow) for the chicken, but unfortunately none of them are very spicy. The ceviches are also phenomenal, especially with a side of extra corn nuts to chew on. Cocktails include Pisco Sours and great happy hour margaritas! The staff is super nice too. Please expand to Princeton, NJ.
google avatar

Ling C.

Yelp
Pros: Empanadas were amazing. Order was prepared fast. Place is spacious. Cons: Empanadas are very expensive and you only get 2. I feel ripped off when I buy it; however, it is definitely a treat for every so often. I ended up getting 3 different types of empanadas and paid $30 for 6 empanadas. If they added one more to each order I think it works be worth it for the price. Parking? Metered outside on a very busy street. Would I come back? Hesitant, but yes.
google avatar

Mercedes P.

Yelp
Pachamama is a gem , Food that looks great , smell like to die for and tastes even better, the food is full of flavors and their spicy ceviche is a great way to get to know Perú . Food is the best way to get into cultures and Pachamama is one that you don't want to miss.

Yelp
Came here for HH while in town visiting a friend. Was blown away, wish I had a place like this in KC. I love pisco sours, but never had a frozen one, so their sidewalk sign for HH drew me in, onto the lovely shaded patio. Ordered one, and also the best ceviche I ever had in my life. And I've been to Mexico several times. The nutty toasted corn, white beans, and sweet potato was a symphony of flavor in my mouth. I asked for some tortillas chips, and while they were very good, weren't needed. This was super filling, and so glad I got it. Wish I had time to try the chicken. Will be back next time I'm in town.
google avatar

Gallegos S.

Yelp
Well, I am Peruvian so my standards are high, we ordered jalea was a small portion for the price and the flavor wasn't good , arroz con mariscos was ok but will not blow your mind as a real arroz con mariscos will do, also we ordered parrillada for two , was awful the anticuchos were cold! And the flavor was too acid , The pieces of steak were very bland and cold , I did not try the chicken because I was disappointed at that point, but my husband said that it was ok. Service was ok not great . I think that they have to research more their recipes or train better their cookers .

Victoria G.

Yelp
Service borders between average and subpar. Food is a hit or miss. I liked their pulled pork sandwich a lottt especially with the green sauce. On the other hand, I was served some extremely strange sour tasting guac, more of a spoiled taste versus too much lime or something. Soft opening is no longer an excuse, they need to really train their staff to get it together. I know it's tough with college kids but it can make or break an experience. Once I waited 30 mins for apps because server completely forgot to put order in, other time I came for happy hour because of their outdoor sign and my server was oblivious that it was happy hour. Also happy hour guac was advertised to be served with plantain chips but it was served with tortilla chips, no explanation.

Helen C.

Yelp
Major key restaurant. I would match with this restaurant on tinder. Juicy chicken, delicious apps and fun drinks at a very reasonable price. Felt like a baller in Peru.
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
Nice Chicken well roasted- fried chicken pieces are also good- really good sweet potato fries, wish they gave more sauce out to match their large food portions. i always run out of sauce when i go here.. the other sides ive had were so so-- i mainly go here for the chicken and fries-- ive had the empanadas, they were decent, slightly soupy, and the chicken inside was lukewarm so now i stay away from the empanadas
google avatar

Becca R.

Yelp
We have ordered take out from here a few times now. The grilled chicken is always moist and well cooked. The sauces are fantastic. Double check your order before you leave as we've had a few things missing, but they're quick to remedy any mistakes.
google avatar

Nikita F.

Yelp
Had an awesome first experience! Got seated outside right away, and the food came out way sooner than expected! Ordered the Piruchis (frozen strawberry lemonade) as well as the seasoned chicken sandwich which came with regular french fries. Reasonably priced, friendly service, delicious and received perfectly hot. Definitely recommend giving this place a try if you are in Newark!!! I hope to try the guacamole appetizer next time
google avatar

Billy G.

Yelp
"Wow. So good." That's all we were saying as we had our first dinner here. Had to order due to the Covid quarantine. AND THEY DELIVERED!! And everything was magnificent. Shrimp fried rice, BBQ dinner for two, steak empanadas, fried yucca, fried plantains. Wow. All the side sauces. Delicious. Definitely coming in, once this stay home order is finished. Simply amazing.
google avatar

Eric A.

Yelp
First visit, pleasantly surprised with a very tasty lomo saltado, as good as I have had anywhere. Wife's chicken was very tasty. Pisco sour was perfectly prepared. (A pisco sour is not a whiskey sour!) Looking forward to my next visit and I'll have a shrimp chaufa Odd, no Peruvian beer..... Cusqueña, Cristal
google avatar

Bradley H.

Yelp
This has absolutely the best chicken in DE. The sauces are fantastic, the head chef is super nice and the environment is just great. Get the whole chicken and fries with all the additions, it is simply the best
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
Food was very good - I had lomo saltado, anticuchos de corazon (beef heart meat kabobs), and tried the ceviche. The lomo saltado was one of the better ones I've had, good flavor, good portion, and the right texture on the fries. Better than other Peruvian places around here and very authentic. The antichuchos de corazon were amazing, best I've had outside of Peru, and one of my favorite Peruvian dishes. Atmosphere was fine, casual dining, order and pay up front, and a bar in the back. Owner seemed very friendly and nice.
google avatar

Jackie S.

Yelp
Food was DELICIOUS. we stopped here on our way down to Maryland and were very pleased with the food. Everything was super tasty- highly recommend!

Lourdes R.

Yelp
Wow one of the best placed I Had been in which it has very good tasty Peruvian food love their chicken, their rice wow and the plátanos love it. I would definitely going back. I would highly recommended it. Nice place next to the boardwalk by the river.
google avatar

Xiaojing N.

Yelp
Good flavor. We two ordered the chef's bbq for two. Everything taste good. I especially love the chicken and sausage. Great food and great place to hangout. Must try if you nearby.
google avatar

Connor D.

Yelp
I have been to Pachamama a few times and I really like their food. I was going to make this place my weekly go-to, because of their Wednesday special. However, they have gone through a price increase, so it is no longer an awesome deal. It was explained to me that the price increase was due to people wanting soda refills and to account for other specials. Overall, I like the place, but I do not like that they raised prices without telling us customers. 3 stars.
google avatar

Zhicong Z.

Yelp
We've ordered the Pacha's BBQ for two. If you are opening on trying south American food or simply just a meat lover, I would recommend you try this! This comb comes with a lot of tasty dishes. I will list some of my favorites here. The beef heart skewers are really tender and juicy; the fried banana is sweet a little sticky. Plus, the half fried chicken with three special sauces: spicy mayo, mustard and salsa is amazing. Every single sauce is great and worth to have a try. My mouth is watering while I am typing those words on the phone.
google avatar

Carlos M.

Yelp
Food is excellent. My first experience here deserved 4 stars, however, last night, the service was pretty bad. While it was busy, that is no excuse for the wait staff to walk past me for 10 minutes before offering anything to drink. When I finally ordered a beer it took a while. The tall blinde waitress was clueless. Ordered classic ceviche, got the wrong ceviche and did not think to bring plates and then disappeared. The chicken came out and she forgot to bring the hot sauces and also disappeared. Another waitress spent half her time talking to her friends who were eating at the next table. Please train your waitstaff on proper service

Youya A.

Yelp
This was our first time at this restaurant..Ordered the chicken fried rice, the paella and a whole chicken with a side of fries. The food and service was okay. Didn't appreciate the fact that we asked the waitress which would be the better choice ordering the whole chicken combo with the 2 sides and churros, or the roasted chicken alone with a side of fries. She told us that ordering the chicken alone was definitely cheaper... they charged us 22$ for the chicken and 4$ for the side of fries. When other restaurants in the same caliber charge 14$ for a whole chicken. It would have made more sense to get the combo. For 26$, a dollar more. When we brought that to the attention of the waitress, her answer was " yeah". Well, we gave her less tip, then we would have, and it will be our last time at this place.
google avatar

Yelp
A great addition to Newark. The thoroughly marinated rotisserie chicken is juicy and flavorful. Pisco Sours are authentic and refreshing. First visit was very impressive - can't wait to try many of the other menu items.
google avatar

Q B.

Yelp
Everything was just amazing at this restaurant. The whole rotisserie chicken was so juicy and soft. The rice wasn't dry! It was flavorful and tasty. The aroma was nice and so was the music. The 3 dipping sauces were nice too but what they call the red / hottest sauce wasn't hot at all, but everyone's taste buds are different.

Sebastian C.

Yelp
I never really liked the food from Pachamama. Even back when they had their location over by the University of Delaware and had to be dragged to eat their food. However, after my latest experience with food poisoning, I knew I had to write this review. The service is quick and efficient regardless of whether you want to dine in or want to do take-out. However, it seems that the restaurant has sacrificed quality for speed. Whenever I would take a bite out of their food, any food, for that matter of fact, the food would be tasteless. Even their sauces lacked flavor and all you could taste was heat; it was like spicy water, tasteless. It's as if the chefs are allergic to salt! If the restaurant would have head salt shakers at the tables, I wouldn't be complaining. However, this is not the case considering that the restaurant serves you the food as is. So you can't add salt to anything. On top of that, the rotisserie chicken they provided reeked as of it had been cooked using bacon fat. I had to endure eating ONE PIECE of rotisserie chicken, and suffered intestinal trouble, followed by constant sulfuric burps, which only made me more sick to my stomach. Stay away from this place if you want to avoid food poisoning!
google avatar

Karen G.

Yelp
Yummy chicken and very large portions! The sauces are delicious and unusual. The sides were good. Service was very good, if not a little too attentive (it wasn't busy when we went, so the server was probably just trying to do her very best.) The seats near the door are very cold in winter. New decor is much brighter than previous. Margarita was great and a nice size.
google avatar

Elli H.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. The food was amazing, so many things on the menu that sound amazing so we will definitely be back. I highly recommend the sampler of tacos. The woman who made our food took the time to come over and talk to us. She told us the detail that goes into picking ingredients for the dishes and how they import certain things from Peru to give the food such a wonderful taste. I loved hearing about the passion the owners have for their restaurant. The staff was very friendly. Good date night, group or family place. Wonderful experience!

N P.

Yelp
Disaster Lomo Saltado. Not even close and flavorless meat. As a South American native I'm very disappointed to have payed $17 plus for a dish that I was raised eating. Un desastre el lomo saltado. La carne parecía exprimida sin jugo y sin gusto a nada.
google avatar

Robert S.

Yelp
Didn't want to cook and wanted something out of the ordinary. My daughter suggested Pachamama. My takeout order was ready when I arrived. She gave me extra sauce as well. The chicken was amazingly tender and flavorful. Salad was fresh/crispy. Sweet potato fries were a bit soft/mushy (they never travel well). Overall would highly recommend would. Suggest trying something other than sweet potato fries.

Karla F.

Yelp
This is my second time getting Pachamama. First time it was okay, got the lomo saltado (steak and fries dish) wasn't the most flavorful. Second time I went in for just an order of chicken empanadas (this was the last thing I ate for the day, around dinner time). Got super sick, I've seen a couple other posts regarding food poisoning or sickness after eating here, please BEWARE. I think they should have a better system in contamination control if this is a repeating issue.
google avatar

Joe T.

Yelp
1 Star for customer service. I placed an order on Grubhub and got a call stating that one item (ribs) would take 40 mins. I said ok, but 40 mins later they called and said it would be 40 more mins- I decided to sub out for something else. When I picked up they made up the difference in cash, apologized but nothing else. This was all compounded when I got home and the chicken I ordered was cold. Not in the least warm. Taste was good but experience not so much. I'm guessing a new restaurant would want to make sure customers were going to return. This place not so much.
google avatar

Jenna S.

Yelp
Great Peruvian food! I highly recommend the Yucca fries and the Piruchis drink! They also have the Impossible Burger available which is a great vegan option.
google avatar

Arlene G.

Yelp
In town for my niece's birthday party and visiting from Northern Virginia and found this local gem. Legit Peruvian restaurant. Their rotisserie chicken was scrumptious as was their classic ceviche. Highly recommend!! Also order their from scratch margaritas and piscina sours
