Per a press release, this Mexico City-inspired taqueria is the second location for owner-operator Elias Pacheco. The 2,400-square-feet restaurant designed by Gensler Architects will include an indoor-outdoor bar and a menu stocked with street tacos, margaritas, micheladas, and ceviche." - Adele Chapin

My daughter wanted me to have a good lunch a few days after surgery so we tried Pacheco. It was easy to order for pickup as this was a few blocks from my place. My daughter went and picked up for me. She said the gentlemen that handed her the order was nice and asked if we liked to please return. I had 3 birria tacos with no sides that cost about $16. They were lacking in meat is my biggest complaint. Now, I’m not a big meat person but when I’m looking for birria I need a good ratio of meat to cheese. This was about a tablespoon of meat spread with lots of cheese. I will say that the tacos were really good. Looking at previous reviews the meat portions may be inconsistent 🤷🏽‍♀️ I did warm leftovers in my air fryer which made it better with the salsa. I won’t rush back but I might try again in the future

Order whatever you want in the menu, then add the Ramen Elote. This Taco Bar is a favorite of ours when we're in Irving visiting the Convention Center or Toyota Music Factory. The employees are friendly and our food is always fresh and fast. Our family will get the four Street Taco deal and mix and match all the delicious options. You can't miss on this one....... And don't forget the Ramen Elote!!

Google
Overall, this restaurant was just okay. The location is a definite highlight, conveniently situated right next to the Toyota Music Factory, making it an easy stop after a show. However, the food fell short of expectations. The wet burrito was decent, but the loaded baked potato and beef quesadilla were disappointing. The baked potato lacked flavor, and the quesadilla was sparsely filled, leaving it feeling incomplete. Unfortunately, neither dish justified their price tag. While the convenience of the location is a plus, the food quality left something to be desired.

Stayed at the Marriot and walked over here. Server suggested some street tacos when i was being indecisive. Pretty Chill place. Food was good, I should’ve ordered more.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. It was not busy at all. You order at a counter and seat yourself. Walking in you could smell strong chemicals as if they had sprayed fragrance. I can’t speak for everyone but I try to avoid toxic fragrances. The food was brought to our table with missing sides but they quickly brought us what we needed. As I went to the restroom to wash my hands there was a random fork in the sink and water all over the floor. Strange! But the food was great! Very authentic and beautiful decor in the restaurant

Google
I really love this spot. It’s so close to my home. The staff is always so kind and welcoming, and they always greet you with a smile. The way they’ve decorated the place is beautiful. It makes me happy to see so many parts our culture displayed. This place was decorated with lots of love and you can tell. My only issue is with the carnitas. I just don’t like how shredded they are, and they don’t have much flavor, which is disappointing compared to everything else. Other than that, I love this place and will definitely keep coming back. The atmosphere, the people, and the location make it such a great place.

Google
I would NOT recommend this place. We walked in and my young daughter needed to use the bathroom before we ordered. This man with glasses abruptly stopped us and said “you can’t use the bathroom unless you’re a customer” I said of course we are going to use the bathroom and then come order. Well he insisted we order first then use the bathroom ??? I said oh that’s not friendly at all… we changed our mind and we didn’t eat there. Kind of glad honestly because the place was completely empty and I can see why with that kind of attitude from their staff who knows what the food must be like 😬 Oh well. Found a welcoming place called Gloria’s who allowed us to use their restroom first lol :) Great food at Gloria’s!!!

Google
It was my first time there and I tried the fried shrimp tacos and they were delicious!!! Wow this place is such a great vibe, from the music, the staff, the food. It felt as if I was at a family party! I will be coming back for sure!

Yelp
Very clean place. Plenty of seating. We sat at the bar. I think the bartender must've been new, because it took him probably 10 mins to make a bourbon on the rocks and a vodka soda. I didn't try their food, but it looked good. $35 for two doubles.

Yelp
This is a good choice if you're staying in the area at a hotel, it's walking distance from the Marriot Las Colinas. Almost all the other choices for dining are expensive suburban places that are very nice in terms of ambiance, but mediocre in terms of food. Among the choices with Latin cuisine, this is the only one I found with Spanish speaking clientele. Judging from the other reviews, this might not be the place for you if you were just at a music event next door and already a little inebriated. Although also a little overpriced, that does seem to be the norm for the area, and the food quality and service were quite good. Friendly, clean, bilingual, I enjoyed my two taco dinner, one was fish, the other shrimp. Portion sizes were small, unlike back home but this isn't a fair comparison and no one can finish the Milwaukee area Mexican family dinner plates. The churros dessert was pretty good too. On the negative side, the churros comes in Styrofoam with lots of plastic. It's hard to get them to not serve plastic straws. Lots of plastic waste here.

Yelp
PRICE GOUGING and outright DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES. I caught them overcharging me, and then the cashier outright lied about the $13.99 charge vs. the $11.99 advertised price. Claimed it was because of taxes when the screen clearly showed the additional tax charge. Some older man came by (edit: the OWNER) and acted like he didn't know why there was an issue. He said prices are adjusted due to special events "like many places." Are you serious?? He asked if I had already paid, and I told him no because I was leaving anyway. He got an attitude as if I was in the wrong for not accepting his "generosity" of charging me the actual price for the food. Said he was going to adjust the price but if I was "dissatisfied" I could just leave. I cannot imagine how many of you have been cheated. Out of money by this shady business. People are already paying for concert tickets, $35-60 for parking, just so that a restaurant can turn around and take advantage, too? It's abhorrent!!! Do NOT give this place your business. Not only will they cheat you, but they'll treat you like trash for speaking out.

Yelp
Food was horrible. I really tried to like it but had to throw it out. If the bar was open, it would be nice to just go have a drink, but other than that food is horrible.

Crystal P.

Yelp
Something funny is going on with the pricing tacos listed at 10.99 charged at 17.99 on a random Sunday night when no events and restaurant was empty. I was going to request a charge back, but since they have to steal they must be desperate. I went to get cheese cake and spent triple here for a nasty taco plate then what I actually came for which was the cheesecake next door.

Yelp
Pacheo taco bar benefits from its location near the Toyota Music Factory and Irving convention center. Its worth checking out if you are looking for a more casual bite before a concert or during a convention. You can order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. Service was just ok, I got ran up for quac when I ordered queso but that's ok. There was slight confusion when I mentioned it at the counter but taken care of fairly quickly. Food wise it was decent enough for what I would expect from this kind of shop near major event centers. I went with the 3 tacos, which I had hoped I would be able to try 3 different kinds, but when ordering tacos they have you order 3 of the same. Which can work out if you have more than one person that is willing to trade tacos with you, so everyone can try a different one, but not so much if you are by yourself. I will keep them in rotation when I'm up here for events, but with event traffic I don't know if I would fight it for the food places in this center.

Jamie T.

Yelp
The chicken bowl is not worth it price wise but it is pretty decent tasting. I just feel like you could get better quality at your local chipotle with a better price tag attached to it as well. The tacos combos are pretty worth it so I would recommend those in terms of pricing. Includes a side!

Anita H.

Yelp
We ordered the Shrimp and Glazed Pecan salad and told 2 different workers that there weren't any pecans in the salad. Neither person brought pecans to us. I will NOT visit this restaurant AGAIN! Also the bar area wasn't clean...dirty glasses were everywhere.

Nika'la D.

Yelp
From the moment we walked in we were greeted by the lady taking our order. She was very patient and helped us find what we wanted and were looking for. She then recommended the drinks and she was ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY correct that they were strong. Everything tasted homemade and was appetizing and we loved that the cheese melted in our mouth. The restroom was clean. We will definitely be back. 10/10 highly recommend!!

Ali L.

Yelp
Service was slow and people that walked up behind me were served first. Menu said draft imports were $6 but we were charge over $7.50 for each beer. We didn't eat so I can say anything about the food. Right outside Toyota Music Pavilion so would be a good place to grab a bit before a show.

Devon W.

Yelp
The tacos are bomb! I'm scared to get into the guacamole because why would you put chunks of cheese in guacamole but maybe one day......

Jason J.

Yelp
I would like to start off the review by stating this is not about the food or the service but more specific to my interaction with the cashier/manager and another manager. This incident was when I ordered my dinner -- the cashier/manager didn't read back my order nor was there an itemized list of my order on the payment terminal -- it was one of those moments when there was a line behind me, and I didn't think too much of it before paying. As I was making my way to the table, I thought my bill was a little more expensive than expected and proceeded to check my email receipt - that's when I realized I was charged for two entrees when I had ordered just one. Went back to the cashier/manager immediately to let him know the mistake - instead of helping me, he insisted that was what I ordered and refused to rectify the mistake. I asked to speak to the manager and another "manager" came over to also insist that was I ordered, and they will not do anything about it. I think I know what I ordered but seeing the reaction of the cashier/manager and the other "manager"... it was pointless to debate this any further. This is a one-star experience in my book, and I will not be returning. But hey... I have some leftovers now.

Yelp
Rarely post. EVER. But we came over at 2 pm on a SATURDAY. Super excited to try this place. I remind you they open at 11am. I opened the door and the crew was all sitting down appeared to be eating and yelled out they were closed. At 2pm????? On a Saturday??? What? So onto the next. Not interested in trying it anymore.

Carla A.

Yelp
Stopped by here while in Dallas for my sisters birthday. I ordered the Michelada with Tequila, Lime juice, and a Chamoy/ Tajin dipped rim added a salty spicy flavor with each sip! Beyond delicious. My friend ordered the Michelada with shrimp. I tried some of hers too and it was so good. We're going back today to get food!

Yelp
Ok so this review is hard for me to write because not only did I want this place to be good but so did my daughter. We as well as 100's of others were attending a concert & wanted to grab a bite to eat before going in. So I must emphasize the place was crowded & both of us realized, completely understood, & empathized with employees & other patrons (it was packed). I tell my daughter what I would like to eat & then I go to get us a table. She stays to order. She finds me & we are #18. I then go to the bar & get a mangolado for us to share from a very nice & patient man working at the bar. When I return we both try it & chit chat for about 15-20 minutes & then a woman brings out chips & queso that my daughter ordered, the woman grabs our #18 & takes it with her. My daughter asks "if she took our # how will they know who to bring the rest of the food to?" (Good question considering the woman put the # back into rotation by the register again) my daughter gets up & goes to ask about the rest of our food & they tell her about 5 minutes they are very busy tonight? (Head scratch) We have finished our queso & the woman brings out my daughters plate. (We have now been here a total of 1hr & 15 minutes) I go up to where the food comes out & ask how much longer for the rest of the order? They ask what was the rest? I tell them a quesadilla. They look at each other go to the register then come back to me & say it will be another 15 minutes. (The concert has already started by now). I tell them it's ok can I just have all of my money back. The young woman proceeds to go back & forth with me they are making the food?? I am explaining to her I've already been waiting over an hour & I can't take food in the venue. She refunds me only for the quesadilla? I explain to her no I want a refund for the whole meal bcz I have been waiting etc. As she is arguing with me a man holding a #18 is standing behind me. She puts her arm out & pushes me to the side & says she needs to help him. My daughter then walks up with her plate & says these are the wrong tacos!! I told the young lady there you go now I need a full refund they are the wrong tacos. She said I can't she already took a bite out of them. I asked her for the manager she said she was busy making food for other customers. Then the man holding #18 says I think she got my tacos. Yup! I took the plate of tacos & went to where everyone was making the food. The very nice man that made our drink (which was delicious) asked if he could help me? I explained the whole scenario, he told her to give me the refund she still was going back & forth with him. He had to go to the register himself to do it. I told him I wanted to really try this place but her attitude is so bad. She started laughing. I said wow your laughing?? This isn't funny. I've worked in customer service for 30 yrs & this isn't how you treat people. I will try this place again when I'm back over there but hopefully they put their employees through some sort of training. I know what it's like to be busy, to be so stressed out but still have to keep your cool or I would lose my job. You can't touch your customers even to move them out of the way & you can't argue with a customer.

Nancy P.

Yelp
Flat Squirt, excessive oj. Drink was horrible. Asked if I could get reimbursed or just have another drink. Cost of 1 drink, $31.13! This employee was rude, said"I can't do anything, either drink it or throw it, can't give you money back" again I expressed the cost, I would take a beer or margarita, something to equal the cost or even simply to enjoy a drink, again he got more rude. What a way to treat customers. That's a shame. No need to have been such an ass. Didn't offer to even remake a decent drink! Needless to say after reading reviews this is an ongoing issue! Wish we would've read reviews!

Ashley B.

Yelp
Birria tacos are so good!! Pick up for take out pretty often and never disappointed. I wish their process to order to go was easier

Lou T.

Yelp
Habanero sauce is a delish. Tacos plates are so so - size is too small, they are crunchy ones only. I had better ones in Dallas downtown. But crunchy nachos with corns (and what appears like coconut shreds?) are just so enjoyable. I don't recall the name, but it was suggested by the guy behind cashier. Great service. It's a bit walk from the parking garage, but outdoor parking is available right next to one of the entrances.

Steven S.

Yelp
Stopped in Pacheco Taco Bar before a concert and it did. Not disappoint. I had a four street taco plate with beef tacos, rice and beans and it was under $10 and was delicious. Great flavors, nice atmosphere with multiple different sitting and lounge areas. We will return!

Duane O.

Yelp
Today I find myself in Dallas TX. I decided to stop in at Pacheco taco bar. The food was good. I had the steak Street tacos. Nothing exciting just lunch. The place is bland with Mexican music playing in the background. A bit pricey for a Mexican restaurant, but the location must factor in. The service was not exceptional but not bad either.

Emily S.

Yelp
Pretty good tacos and nice ambiance! The place is very clean and service was great. The only thing that sucks is parking when there are events at the Music Factory, they need to do something to improve parking for the restaurants because traffic from the event disrupts parking and if it's raining like when I went it's a pain to walk from the garage, and then it's another pain to validate your parking with their dumb website app thing. But that's not the restaurant's fault.

Shooboxx S.

Yelp
The service was great. However, the portions are very small for the price. But I guess we can chalk that up to Airport pricing. The burrito that I had was obviously pre-made and tasted like it was sitting for quite a while.

-Marvin W.

Yelp
First of two stops on football Sunday. My cousin and I, wanted to watch some games and grab a bite. This place did not disappoint, as it had both games on (Fox and CBS). We bellied up to the bar. Had a couple of margaritas, which were fine. I had a fish taco which was excellent and my cousin had the Vegatarian bowl with Veggies. Also very good. Would recommend and look forward to visiting again.

Maria Z.

Yelp
Service was great! Staff was friendly and were so welcoming, it was my friends 21st bday and they sang happy bday for and lit her a candle and all, definitely recommend great vibes !!

Andrew C.

Yelp
Nope. Tried to do take-out online and this place had no idea how to handle their online orders. We received notification that the restaurant had received our order, but then shortly thereafter we were instructed to call as the order had not been accepted. The person who answered the phone had no idea how to work with the system, and thus we were forced to cancel and go elsewhere. Sad that the staff can't handle online orders, particularly as this is touted as a way to "skip the lines".

Brittany M.

Yelp
Quesabirra tacos, chips and homemade guacamole are amazing! Service was quick and staff is very friendly. So happy we found this place

Annie K.

Yelp
Pretty good place, never ate at this restaurant before. Saw they had ramen and birria and I HAD to try it. Overall the elote was so delicious and the ramen and birria was a great combo. I should have asked for more red hot sauce they give with the elote, would have gave it a spicy kick. I'm happy and full.

Sherry P.

Yelp
Margaritas to die for. Best personal service around. Family owned. Great atmosphere and food.

Michelle H.

Yelp
Okay - if you are expecting Tex-Mex - move on. One of the only places I can get great street tacos & a bangin' Michelada! We frequent this place often & I've taken a friend there - never had bad service...lunch or dinner! As far as pricing goes - everything is this expensive, especially for fresh food, so I'm not sure what all the complaints are about? It's a casual dining place but it's not taco cabana lol Yes, like everyone else, they are short staffed at times -but if you are nice, they are just as nice back. Please ignore the useless reviews & try it - you won't be sorry! Recommend: burritos, pastor tacos, chorizo tacos, chips & queso, Michelada!

John S.

Yelp
Food was cold, to the touch. The ice cream ordered with churros was melted. And all the food ordered left a bad taste in my mouth. If it wasn't next to the music factory. This place would be open any more. When I asked for a refund the servers refused and said that it wasn't their problem.

Mykie D.

Yelp
I went here looking for the flavor that other reviews rave about and didn't find it. I think I went on the wrong day. The chicken and beef fajita meat in the street tacos were completely flavorless as was the rice. You can tell the tortillas are store bought and the beans-they tasted canned to me but I'm not sure. They weren't very good either. The corn is missing so much and is too basic. A few good things: the salsas are delicious and very spicy which is great! The customer service is good. The decor and location are great. I will try them again, but this time around a lot was missing. I like to support my local and independently own businesses so will give another shot. 3 stars for salsa, location and ambiance

Jamie P.

Yelp
If I could give no stars I would. Restaurant seemed to be out of food lol and agree with all other reviews staff is horribly rude. I will never come back here. Food could be 5 star Michelin rating and I wouldn't come back here.

Lovelyn L.

Yelp
I placed a to-go order for Carne Asada fries, a fish taco and a shrimp tostada. The fries were sad. Very very sad. First, the ingredients list from Grub hub did not match what the store actually makes so I had to go after picking up my order and have them replace it based on the Grub hub description. What I didn't realize till I got home was they they just added items to the old fries instead of making it fresh. So my food was ice cold after going back and forth. Plus there was still sour cream missing even after the redo. We threw it out. The shrimp tostada was okay. Not a lot of acid flavor. Pretty bland overall. The fish taco was very good. That is the only thing I would get again from this place. I'm sure the place is better when you dine in. I liked the shop and since it's so close I would try it again but only for fish tacos and maybe a drink. Last comment is that I think this place could be really good if they told more pride in their food. Overall it was lack luster.

Richard H.

Yelp
Great food, especially the birria tacos. The service could have been better as some food was incorrectly served. Overall very good. Good location in Toyota Music Factory.

Kenzie D.

Yelp
Just moved to texas from fresno california and this is the only place we've found so far that has good tacos. so good truly

Iselaabella C.

Yelp
This place is soooo good the food and the drinks . I usually get me a michelada and it's huge it's like a whole meal lol the staff is super friendly and the owner is very nice and socialable . Definitely a spot where you always feel welcomed

Gabriel R.

Yelp
Worst place to eat wouldn't recommend it , tried couple things and I just has a nasty aftertaste drinks are overpriced

Ashley V.

Yelp
My husband and I tried giving them several opportunities and today was my last day paying for their horrible service. 1. The food portions and price ratio don't match. The tiniest tacos I've ever seen and I paid $15 for 3 tacos... 2. HORRIBLE service and this is coming from a business owner. There is no reason as to why the owner herself should be at the front and giving a terrible attitude. I asked her what type of alcohol beverages they have and she told me to read the menu myself. Then she continues to roll her eyes and give us horrible service. I've personally tried giving them the benefit of the doubt but today was it.

Ema P.

Yelp
This place was pretty delicious! I had the beef street tacos... 3. So flavorful. Small, of course, but flavorful. The ambiance is not much to look at and the furniture is EXTREMELY small and uncomfortable, but the people were nice... So I endured. Next time I'm in town I would visit... Wouldn't be a first choice but more of a "yeah, I remember that place, we can stop by before we go to the hotel... Let's order To-go"

Brandon K.

Yelp
Can I tell you how much I love Tacos? So much so that when people ask if I want a hot body, I respond by saying, nah, I love tacos. While working in Irving on a project I stumbled across Pacheco Taco bar for lunch. Next to the music factory, this taco mecca offers up some freshly made, large tacos that taste just like tacos from home in Baja. Their Al Pastor tacos taste like they came off the spit, with crispy edges and that perfect flavor. The tortillas are not those hard cold ones you are used to getting elsewhere, these have been slightly toasted on the grill and add perfect texture to the experience. Their fish taco is loaded with crispy, thick pieces of fish and a perfect dressing. I'm telling you, you can't go wrong here. You will pay a premium $ for these tacos, but as long as you go in knowing it will be worth it, it will be worth it ;0)

Junior C.

Yelp
Back again, never disappoints! You gotta try la Cecina!!! 10/10 fresh made corn tortilla! Fresh beef and cheese What are you waiting for !

penne s.

Yelp
The guacamole was a day old, the shrimp on taco was not cooked it was from freezer bag (cold). The beverage area needed service. The workers were eating while taking my order.

Erasmo H.

Yelp
I've lived in the area for years and been wanting to try this place, and finally did. The service was HORRIBLE!!!! From the lady taking our order to the lady bring out the food had major attitude. Also I ordered corn in a cup and it was only half way filled, when asked if this was right got even more attitude. But other folks had corn all the way to the top, especially all the customers in uniform. Anyway, I had hoped for better food and service since I like to support the restaurants where I live. I don't recommend.

Katie W.

Yelp
The owner was our server, Pacheco, he was great! The art on the walls are very eye catching and fit the vibe of the place. The drinks were very good, every thing was homemade. COME AND GET SOMETHING WITH THEIR CHAMOY!!! We both got street tacos, mixed and matched & all were good. Get the habanero hot sauce for the extra kick and green one for more of a mild. 10/10 will be coming again to try their paleta "Mexican candy" shots!!

Mary G.

Yelp
This food was soooo good! It is authentic Mexican food and so tasty! My favorite was the tacos de barbacoa. One of the best I ever tasted! I love the environment, and everyone who worked there was so kind! I have lived in walking distance for a while, and I can't believe I never tried it until yesterday. I will definitely be back!! Also, my daughter got a Michelada (she is very picky about her Miche's) and she was very impressed!

Theresa P.

Yelp
Delicious! Well priced! Loved the option for street taco as well as more gourmet tacos! Loved the healthy size of the fish for my fish taco!

Alberto Vidal G.

Yelp
First time and last time, we went with some friends that recommended this place we order 4 jarritos , despite not being good they charge us 140 dollars for them thats 35 dollars each! They increase the price without letting anyone know just because there was a concert going on in the Toyota music factory. We asked for the receipt and they told us that they will send us the recipe to our phone which it never arrived and after asking again for the recipe they got upset. I'll never go to this place again knowing that they can change their prices as they wish.

Dwarak R.

Yelp
Poor Customer Service. Its not only about taste and flavors. If you dont know how to treat customers, you are in the wrong industry.

Mnu D.

Yelp
Amazing amazing food!!!! From the tacos to the bowls to the drinks, everything was absolutely amazing. I moved here 2 years ago from California and have had trouble finding good authentic Mexican food and Pacheco definitely takes the win. Coming back soon
