Pacific Food Mart - Review - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Glendale contains a few Persian restaurants, including the famous Raffi’s Place and Nersses Vanak Restaurant, the latter of which cooks abgoosht in the dizi. “At the table, they will mash those ingredients for you,” Deravian says. While in the neighborhood, Deravian recommends also stopping at Pacific Food Mart for pirashki, a stuffed fried dough, similar to the Russian or Armenian pirozhki. “It’s another grocery store, but they make their own pirashki,” she says. “It can either be [stuffed] with ground meat, with potato and egg. You can also have sweet pirashki. And you can obviously do all your shopping there, too.” If you want to learn how to make your own pirashki, Deravian has a recipe in Bottom Of The Pot. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Google
I have been looking for a great market in the area that is clean, has fresh products, and feels like a good place to give your money too. I stopped by this store on my way to another supermarket that google maps was directing me too. I guess I could say the exterior caught my attention. I’m not sure why the ratings on this store aren’t as high as they should be. I bought the best produce I had in the past several years. The fruits and vegetables are fresh and tasteful. Also they have all kinds of bread and baked goods, I tried the baguettes that was delicious and very fresh. I highly recommend stopping by at this store to get your produce. Also, their employees are so kind, a young lady helped me find exactly what I was looking for which made shopping there so much better. You wanna make sure you’re giving your business to good people and I think if the employees are well mannered it comes from how the business is run. Keep it up!

Just moved to neighborhood and wanted to support small businesses instead of big chains. No one in here smiled or greeted me, the cashier just yanked the card out of my hand to tap the machine which I was going to do, perhaps giving some training in not taking things out of customers hands but asking for it if they wanted to do it themselves. Definitely does not give a welcoming feeling. I will consider coming by and take this as a one off and perhaps the store was not at its best, I hope I can experience what others have posted here in regards to their great experiences

Google
The best Armenian market and bakery in Glendale. I’ve been doing my grocery shopping here for over 10 years, and it never disappoints. The store is always clean, well-organized, and stocked with fresh, high-quality produce. Everything in their bakery is freshly baked daily and tastes fantastic, but the sourdough bread and oatmeal raisin cookies are on another level—they’re insanely good. The owner is very professional and consistently ensures that everything meets the highest standards. The staff is also very attentive, always around to help customers find what they need and ensuring everyone leaves happy. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality and great service.

Google
This is hands down the best market and deli in Glendale and LA! Even though I live closer to other markets, I still come here 2–3 times a week because they’re simply the best in every category. The quality is consistently superior, everything always super fresh, and the staff is friendly and proactive, making every visit quick in and out. Love this place.

I have been a loyal customer of Pacific Food Mart for many years and have consistently enjoyed exceptional experiences. Even though I have moved three times, I still make my way to Pacific Food Mart for all of my grocery needs. The store excels in food quality, customer service, and its charming bakery. I visit at least twice a week and can attest to the outstanding care and service provided. The owner's dedicated presence ensures that every customer receives the best possible experience. Whether you reside in Glendale or beyond, I highly recommend visiting this store. Moreover, if you appreciate freshly baked bread, pastries, perashki, and similar delights, Pacific Food Mart is it for you.

Google
One of the best places to stop for shopping and a quick lunch! They provide good service! This grocery store is super clean and well-stocked with fresh produce, meat, and deli options. The deli department prepares fresh deli and veggie sandwiches daily. I highly recommend the half-size sandwiches, which are not only delicious but also reasonably priced (I got a Ham and Canadian Bacon sandwich for $5.99, which makes for a satisfying full lunch for one person). Additionally, they have a separate bakery department located in the parking lot, offering a fresh variety of bread, Mediterranean-inspired healthy fast food, and sweet treats. Highly recommended to everyone!

Google
all those who complain about the prices of this store and the service and management as well, just haven't been to a big square store. I have only seen respect in this store, Gev is a very willing and conscientious person who helps everyone, even gives gifts to regular customers. I love this Store🇦🇲♥️

Yelp
It's a good store. A wide range of products. The bread is homemade and very tasty. Clean and delicious cookies

Yelp
Pacific Food Mart might be my favorite mom n pop market in the Glendale area. Friendly staff. Well organized quality market. Such wonderful selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables/herbs. Dried fruits and nuts are also impressive. They also have a variety of Milka chocolates that my family loves. Boars Head brand bacon and deli meats - the list goes on. Their in-house bakery on site can be found next to the market. Parking is easy and it's never overly crowded. People that work here are welcoming and helpful.

Yelp
Hello Glendale People. And outsiders.Ive been coming here for 27+yrs for my needs. When I make my bbq I get their seasoned filet minion and their seasoned flap and ground beef meats.Oh my god it's so delicious. These people don't hide their meat from one side like the market i.e.ralphs Vons etc.I buy deli meats.High quality roast beef and Russian ham and go try their pastry.I am limited on sugar. But I cry when I see the sweets.Their ice cream is top notch.Russian or from Iran.very expensive but high quality.and that's what matters.I buy their Dolma Very expensive but portions are huge. The Owner is one nice person.greets his regular custumers. This is a top notch store. He has different races working and that's awesome.Other people that need translation workers are there.May god bless this beautiful store the Owner and all the workers.Very clean food.good quality and more. When u eat here it's like ur eating with the world leaders.5 stars from me.If u want quantity go to the 99c store.Im blessed this store is 1/2 mile from my residence.Keep up the good work

Yelp
My favorite grocery store for many reasons, family owned and operated. Friendly staff who always make me feel like I'm at home and assist with anything I might need, even carrying my groceries to my car. Artisanal bread and pastries. Always fresh and never disappoints. The store is extremely clean and well taken care of. A true gem in the heart of Glendale.

Yelp
Wow,wow, wow, what an improvement I stopped shopping here about 2 years ago unit my friend told me how they have improved. You got my business back.....

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place on my day off (random Wednesday)... and the lady at the counter was so rude. She signed and rolled her eyes at me for no reason!! Makes me not want to come back despite how good the strawberry croissant was. Customer service is make it out break it. Left a terrible taste in my mouth that I couldn't even enjoy my croissant. Will not recommend this place to my friends.

Yelp
I always support the local Armenian stores but this review is for incompetent manager named Gevork who is yelling and trolling this supermarket employees non-stop, I am not sure if he is aware of some store and customer service etiquette or training, but seeing him ruining the store ambiance from peaceful Armenian market to bullying scenes stopped me and other people from going to this store. My non Armenian neighbors also complained about poor attitude of this store manager make them feel unwelcome since they don't understand the language but the loud screaming is enough. I hope the manager would change or atleast learn some manners before the store loses more customers.

Yelp
To start with the this is an AMAZING store. i work very close to them and i get lunch form them almost daily. Its fresh, and extremely well priced. Today i had asked the deli to make a large spicy Italian sandwich, mind you that a large here is a entire French Baggett. It came out Amazing and the whole office loved it. The Staff is always friendly, with the service being wonderful. the while ambiance feels like its a luxury mom and pop shot minus the crazy prices. i highly recommend them to anyone in the area.

Yelp
Fresh sliced deli meats and cheeses! Sandwiches made to order. Perfect to pick up for an on the go lunch!

Artak A.

Yelp
I love this store, especially their Bakery they give the best Boreks, in Los Angeles. They also make fresh sandwiches in front of you in their deli section.

Evelina T.

Yelp
Very good and clean store. Everyone who works there are polite and the prices are reasonable. Recommend to come here!
google avatar

Darrio C.

Yelp
I have been coming here since the early 1990s. The place has been remodeled since then but the service and the nice section of Armenian products are here. You don't have to be Armenian to shop or even try the breads, dips and the great selection of wine beverages.
google avatar

Vika C.

Yelp
Great small market everyone is super friendly and they got everything fresh !!! I recommend it
google avatar

Crystal G.

Yelp
My favorite place to go! Lahmaju is what we go there for and all other bread! Olive bread! Hurry go and let's buy them!
google avatar

Sara H.

Yelp
We love the custard pirashki here. Fresh, soft and the most yummy. They usually sell out by 8-9am. You can call in advance to place an order.

Mila M.

Yelp
Just got my bread for the week from the Pacific food mart If you haven't tried our in-house made Artisan Breads, then you're missing out! Traditional sourdough kneaded into perfection. Head over to one of their locations @paradisepastrycafe or @pacificfoods.market and choose your favorite; Country Bread (plain sourdough) Olive & Rosemary Multigrain French Baguette
google avatar

Annie A.

Yelp
I love the convenience of this market that has almost everything and with plenty of parking space. They have fresh fruits, vegetables, huge deli selection, and most importantly fresh bread since they bake the bread in the house. The only con: everything is overpriced compare to most markets in Glendale.
google avatar

Alen H.

Yelp
Just bought some olives !! They tasted horrible I took it back And the manager refused to take it back or give my money back. $4!!! Freaking $4. Good customer service. Smh!!! Been a 20 year old customer!!!
google avatar

Franklin M.

Yelp
I've been to a few Armenian bakeries and they are not my favorite pastries. The bread is made fresh daily here and we ordered four different pastries to try but we were not a fan of them.
google avatar

Javad T.

Yelp
What a Bad Mistake I made when I walking to pacific food mart off Pacific in Glendale and bought Hennessy XO for $256 when in other stores sale for $150 I decide to return : But read the store policy on its revived No return on liquor Now I know why That tells me we should not trust a store we shop every day for Grosery

Loreen S.

Yelp
Not a fan of the grocery store, but outside the store they have small window where you can buy fresh bread. My only place I go to when I need bread! Barbari bread amazing and always handed to me warm. Best spot in town for fresh bread
google avatar

Soroosh A.

Yelp
When I need Persian ingredients/groceries, this market is one of the places I will frequent.
google avatar

Daisy R.

Yelp
Best market In town! It's so sad to see all of these reviews full of hate! When I have experienced nothing but great customer service here and they always have the best selection of fruit and great quality meat! Their hot foods and sandwiches are AMAZING and all their baked goods are to die for! And did I mention how reasonably priced they are! I think the owners are doing an amazing job taking care of their business and their community!
google avatar

Yelp
Pacific food mart in Glendale is the grocery store to stop by in Glendale. They have everything you can want. They have liquor, fresh fruit, vegetables, and the most amazing sandwiches you can imagine. The employees are very nice and so very helpful. This place is a must try when you are in Glendale. The lavash is the most amazing bread you will ever have. They make it in store and it will melt in your mouth. You will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Meri K.

Yelp
Ridiculously expensive market, most same items are double priced compare to other stores. This is very sad, because I would want to buy from an Armenian store and support their business, however, not going to do so, because there is no explanation on why the same item is more expensive in this store, than the others.
google avatar

Joe F.

Yelp
I was trying out a burrito place across the street and saw a line here, which is always a good sign, so we had to check it out. We obviously looked like we didn't know what we were doing cause a woman in line suggested some things to try and mentioned the custard ponchiks and said it was like an Armenian donut. I had never had one before and it is truly incredible. I went the next week and got another as well as the Nutella and yeah, just as wonderful. I got so hyped on them I tried another bakery that was highly rated on yelp but they weren't nearly as good this place. The other reviews on here mentioned the employees and even customers as reasons to not go here. Maybe they were s little grumpy, but seemed nice to me. Also they could have screamed obscenities while I was ordering and I'd still come back for those ponchiks

Melan R.

Yelp
The store is so clean, customer service is very good. The products are always fresh. I really recommend this store.

Nareh A.

Yelp
First and last time buying anything from their bakery! Found a LONG BLACK hair in my ponchik...DISGUSTING!!!

Sandra B.

Yelp
Great store. Found lots of my delicious food options for my family's bbq . Will have to return soon.
google avatar

Aren K.

Yelp
Their desert or armenian foods are pretty good, but their sandwiches at the deli section are amazing. Compared to the price the quality's worth it, and especially the large, which would be a baguette sized sandwich. The workers do have bad attitudes frequently enough where its noticeable and its way to small to properly shop for groceries like you would at a ralphs. Lastly their bread always seems to lose alot of its softness immediately a day later and will harden, which is terrible. Honestly the sandwiches are the only reason I'm giving it a 3 and not a 2
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
No price tag on most of the items and if there is one it is wrong.Been shopping there for long time , I like the bread it is always fresh.
google avatar

Alyson D.

Yelp
I love this market! It's an Armenian grocer but I find my basics and more. No hassle of the Covid lines you get at larger grocers. Produce is cheaper than Ralphs and better quality. Brought some sweet beautiful peaches from here to work and everyone wanted to know where I got them. Tonight, picked up mozzarella and fresh basil for bruschetta. Great bakery for ponchik and other pastries. Staff are helpful and friendly to me who's unfamiliar with the pastry names. But their best secret is their chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies sold in sealed-resealable two packs $1.99 at the cash register. By far my favorite chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies ever. Move aside overrated boutique cookie shops, the perfect cookie is here.
google avatar

Alina K.

Yelp
Bad inventory/selection & super rude staff. Only reason we still go is for the bakery and they also have reduced a lot of their offering. Don't waste your time, go to Old Fashioned Deli up the street, they have much better selection and people treat you like a human being!
google avatar

Aneta K.

Yelp
Review is for the bakery . It's delicious !!! Sooo good and so fresh every single time . Very good prices too . Make sure to call ahead if you need a big order because they're sold out fast. Also I wish they would stay open past 4pm
google avatar

Tigran H.

Yelp
This store looks good from outside but they have some issues whit the prices on the shelf it's one price when you get to the checkout it's a different price. But when you bring to the attention of the manager she was mumbling something about barcodes no apologies just admit its was wrongly priced or employee put it in the wrong spot very confusing.i guess it's time for visit from department weights and measures.
google avatar

Raz O.

Yelp
This is review for the BBQ take out place and not the store! I called in the morning and placed order for 10 lb BBQ to be picked up at 7 pm. They gave me what I ordered covered in aluminum foil and I brought it home to open and see that 3 out of the 4 types of meat that I ordered were burned. So I call them and they apologized on the phone, no mention of bring it back for another or refund. The next day I went in to the store, spoke to the manager who took my info and a picture that I will attach to this review and promised to call back once they speak to the owner. Well it has been two weeks and I did not even get a reply so as far I am concerned I am done. I spent over $92 only to throw away most of the meat as it was to burned.

Eddy G.

Yelp
Let me add one more 1 star to pay my dues to my fellow glendale neighbors. Extremely bad service, long lines, expired product. SORRY! CANT PAY FOR YOU G WAGON LEASE MR G

Brian M.

Yelp
I like to go there because it's very clean and the staff is always nice to me. This is a great market to get your fresh meat and fruits from. They also have a bakery where you can buy delicious goodies such as baked "perashki" and fresh bread (German bianca, Armenian matnaqash, Artsakh bread). Oh almost forgot, their new oven-baked chicken is very good, recommend it.
google avatar

Hungry H.

Yelp
The bakery, a separate building sharing the same parking lot, has good choices at great prices. I got a baked roll with seasoned ground beef filling and two Nutella-filled donuts for $3 - Delicious Deal !!!!
google avatar

Vaheh O.

Yelp
The worsest place ever. Very bad customer service. Most stuff is expensive . Not fresh. Always charge extra. Backery stuff is awful.
google avatar

Yeghsik T.

Yelp
The worst employees on the planet. It doesn't matter what nationality you are they are the most disrespectful disgusting people. The employees behave like they're above you when they are workers and customers pay your pay check geniuses. We went to buy deli meats and get bread from the bakery and besides being unorganized they are rude telling me "listen to me are you listening go to the bakery" well let me tell you listen to me these employees deserve to lose their jobs to learn how to treat people. The deli has 1 person working who barely functions and the rest of the employees look like they haven't been notified that at work you need to look alive and not dead. The person who owns this store should truely consider hiring new staff that are professional. The image of the business is the employees you hire.

Ani V.

Yelp
The store itself is not bad, it also has a bakery, in the bakery there is delicious Lahmajun (Armenian pizza) and variety of breads and other Armenian stuff. But there are always a lot of people but only one cashier works and cashiers have bad attitude.
google avatar

Hovik B.

Yelp
Every one has their favorite store in Glendale as far as middle eastern groceries. This place also 3.5 stars for me. They make fresh bread and their famous lavash ( flat bread). From produce to meat and liquor.
google avatar

Chris D.

Yelp
Very Nice and clean, always with fresh produce, I just don't understand why the owners always keep changing and the signs which say pacific food mart keep changing...oh and what are the rumors about "stuff" in the cake...lol...if you know what i mean please inform me with more info please... As a child i would always make pit stops here as i lived a couple blocks away and it was on route to my school and home for about 10 years...but now that i have a car...there's no place like Costco...then again there definitely is no place like PACIFIC FOOD MART!!! TFR

Hasmik M.

Yelp
If you're looking for a great Armenian grocery store in Glendale, Pacific Food Mart is your place to be. Not only is their customer service outstanding, but all the products they carry are exceptionally delicious and incomparable with any other grocery stores in the area. When you stop by the grocery store, make sure to also give a taste to their freshly baked goods from their bakery such as bread, lavash, and much more.
google avatar

Henan J.

Yelp
I know am not Armenian by blood but my stomach most definitely has grown accustomed to the fresh produce, the deli and the bakery. Very convenient location and friendly service. Long hours and great prices.

Josh R.

Yelp
Just happen to stop by here the most unbelievable small market I have seen with specialty products from Eastern Europe and the most amazing lavash I have ever tasted in my life can't wait to come back again.
google avatar

Shawnee H.

Yelp
I went here to grab a quick coffee and snack after visiting the doctor next door. The customer service was AWEFUL. I asked the girl in the bakery the coffee prices because they weren't listed and she rolled her eyes and told me with exasperation. Then I went to pour the coffee and it was empty. I said "you're out of coffee" to a different girl behind the counter and she just shrugged and asked me what she could do about it. At this point I just gave up and grabbed a small bag of nuts and headed to check out. The cashier did not say a word to me or even look at me! If you care about customer service avoid this place! Also it's a hot mess with everything scattered all over the store in little to no order.
