Food and service is amazing. But too far for me, anything involving crossing the bay bridge is far considering bumping into traffic… However, we went on New Years at night wasn’t that bad (traffic). The food my brother in law ordered was very good however my personal favorites: Little piglet, Roast Duck, their vegetables dishes (got mom’s thumb up), fried rice, and noodle dish. By the way, their side dish while waiting for our food was very good. Pickled carrot and peanuts.

Wow found a really good dimsum spot in Alameda with the best view! Service is also great, everyone works together to create a great experience. The price is really good especially with the views you get and the quality of foods. I love that they have all my favorites chicken feet, tripe rice rolls etc. soooo good and much better than east ocean that charges you twice as much! Also the calamari is delicious! Definitely recommend!! You ll have to try it:)

Dec. 2025 We came for dim sum and the food was great. They didn't roll out the carts with small dishes, but brought out what we ordered. This kept the dishes hot on arrival. Dec. 2024 We had a large group and over 10 dishes were ordered including a lobster dish, tofu dish, chicken, different types of noodle dishes, soup, and hotpot. We also had black sesame dessert. The food tasted really good. They have a fish tank to keep lobsters and other fish. The staff was quick and friendly. They kept the dishes rolling out. This restaurant is available for big events and parties.

One of the many good places for Dim Sum in the East Bay with a beautiful view of the Marina in Alameda. Has varieties of Dim Sum dishes on the menu for everyone. You can order the Dim Sum from the menu or choose a dish or two from one of the servers that walk around the restaurant holding a tray of Dim Sum goodness. I've only been here a handful of times, so far the service has been excellent.

Love their Dim Sum and loved eating on the water right next to the estuary! Really loved their dim sum order menu. It shows a photo and name of each dim sum you can order! First time I’ve known the names of what I ordered!

This place has definitely gone down hill. Came for lunch dim sum. They have you mark all your preferred dim sum items but you can also wait for some items to come around. Not a good idea to wait for the mobile food because the items are usually cold by the time they get to your table. We mismarked one of the items due to confusion in the description, pan fried vs deep fried. We informed one of female service runners of the mistake and she refused to return the item to the kitchen or removed from our bill. Her response was that “it’s already made, we cannot return it.” This is BS because I’ve seen this item on trays being brought around the restaurant before to be purchased. Second thing that happened was the rice inside the steamed lotus leaf was COLD, so obviously not fully steamed. Rice was separating from each other as well as the flavor was completely off. You can immediately see something was wrong when you see the rice was completely white when you open the leaves. Usually the rice is darkened with the brown gravy which was non existent. This time we had to call the manager to take a look at the item for it to be returned AND removed from bill. This placed is already way overpriced so they should at least take an item back if it’s not what you wanted, food cooked thoroughly as well seasoned well. Not sure what to think of this place now. Try it and judge it for yourself. Personally, I don’t recommend coming for the food. Maybe for a date at night when there’s less people, other wise you will not be able to hear each other as well as yourself. Extremely noisy during lunch hours.

The seafood pieces from one of the dishes were probably expired, it tasted funny. Otherwise, all of the other dishes were pretty good. Nothing special, just your typical Dim Sum. Service was ridiculous though. 🤷‍♀️.

Horrible customer service. Begged for more tips to the whole table. Came in on a Monday morning for some Dim sum with friends and family. The restaurant was empty. The elders lady served us, she didn’t know much English, which is ok. We couldn’t understand her much. But at the end when our bill was $300. And I tipped $40 cash. The asked for more in front of the whole table. What kind of service is this? Greedy people. Please be careful coming here, also check out other people reviews on Yelp. I’m not the only victim at this place.

Great friendly service with pretty view! Although there might be a slight language barrier, the staff was patient and communicative. My favorite dish was the honey walnut shrimp! The salt and pepper chicken wings too. I think the Tai Style Lobster and Abalone with e-food noodle could've had a bit more seasoning but it was decent. The place was also clean when my family went. Overall had a good experience :)

I've been to Pacific Lighthouse maybe 6 or 7 times previously for lunch and dinner events. This time, my husband and I were having dinner with 8 friends (4 couples). We pre-ordered our 10 dishes with the restaurant. However, there were lots of traffic issues going on in the Bay Area. The big one for us was that the Alameda tube was closed down (Webster Street entrance) due to an accident in the tunnel. We had to re-route to get to 23rd Street to get to Alameda...along with everyone else so the traffic just crawled. It took 1 hour 40 minutes from Oakland Chinatown Webster Street to arrive at the restaurant. All of us do not live in Alameda. So while we were waiting for everyone to arrive, we were asked if we'd like to have the house soup. We said yes. Afterwards, a few friends said the soup was not complimentary the way it is at other Chinese restaurants. It turned out that the soup cost us $30. I feel the waiter should have told us up front that the house soup was not complimentary as I'm sure he knows most Chinese restaurants don't charge for the house soup so most customers would assume it was free. Otherwise, we might have wanted to order a different soup from the menu. Out of the dishes we ordered, I liked the Peking duck, salt & pepper chicken wings, salted fish with pork patty, pea sprouts with garlic, dry saute string beans, pan fried noodles with pork, mushrooms, and bean sprouts, cod fish with black bean sauce, and beef cubes with XO sauce. I didn't eat the saute oysters with ginger/scallion as I don't like oysters. I also didn't care for the salted eggs pumpkin. The pumpkin is okay. I just don't like the salted eggs that coated the pumpkin. Regarding the salted fish pork patty, it was delicious but the pork patty was on the tough side instead of being tender. Our group felt there should have been more cod fish in the dish. They also felt the same way about the oysters which they said had too much onions. Otherwise, the food portion of the other dishes fed all 10 of us. The dishes were all single order. The price was $75 per couple which included tax and tip. It would have been $70 if the soup wasn't added. We all felt the price of dinner was reasonable. Considering the size of the restaurant, there weren't very many patrons for a Friday night. There were maybe 10 tables filled at most. The restaurant has maybe up to 60 tables in the 2 main rooms.

3.5 stars Pacific Lighthouse occupies a waterfront in Alameda overlooking downtown Oakland, and the restaurant offers Cantonese cooking in a dated dining room. My experience was a ten-course Cantonese banquet, and we started with cold appetizers of seaweed salad, char siu, roast pork, and vegetarian goose. Next came a viscous shredded chicken soup; fried shrimp balls with sweet and sour sauce; stir-fried scallops with celery and pea pods; abalone, shiitake mushrooms, and Chinese mustard greens; roast duck with lotus leaf buns, scallions, and hoisin; and a whole lobster chopped and stir-fried with seafood sauce. My favorite course was the luxurious honey-glazed sea bass, an absolutely gigantic fillet of fatty, decadent, flaky bass with a red, caramelized exterior, served with mayonnaise on the side for dipping. The last main course was egg white fried rice topped with crispy shredded dried scallops, before each diner ended with a bowl of red bean soup for dessert. Overall, this was a delicious meal featuring luxurious celebratory ingredients. However, the execution and presentation of the dishes were rather average, though there were a few standouts including the abalone, lobster, and bass!

With a need to find a venue for an upcoming res egg and ginger party, the hubby and I ventured here on a rainy day. Despite the weather, we were able to fully enjoy the view of the water way and downtown Oakland. We arrived after 1pm and the place was pretty empty. It was also Thursday so no problem with seating. The room felt cavernous but the view is really nice. We ordered chrysanthemum tea, dry beef chow fun, har gow, beef noodle, special pork bun and filled bean curd. The chow fun came out first and the smell caught me! The "wok hay" was evident along with the vibrant green onions, bean sprouts and chives. The taste was good! All of the other items were good as well. The beef noodle is a surprisingly big portion which is always nice. The har gow had a nice size shrimp in them and pretty much nothing else in there. Hubby's favorite is always the crunchy topped pork buns which he enjoyed. Good proportion of filling. As we entered the 2 o'clock hour, the waiter brought out a tray with buns and tarts to offer at BOGO. I can't turn down a deal so we got the custard filled buns and black sesame buns. Each one had a nice crispy topping. Very good! Parking was easy and the bill was pretty high for the two of us but we did get extra to share with our kids. Definitely a nice place to revisit. No problem with the restroom cleanliness. I appreciate that they have several stalls and the room is spacious. Could the carpet stand a cleaning? Sure but this is what happens when people come in from the outside and walk on carpet people. Please support this local business.

Update: - Went for Dim Sum - Excellent Wait Service and Dim Sum Carrier Service - Watch for tea service overcharges, make sure they get the head count right - Pricy but unique dim sum as they specialize in Dim Sum from Zhongshan, Guangdong area (steamed sticky rice options both savory and sweet) - Liked the Sea Snails, French Style Baked Pork Buns, Beef Stew Fun in Clay Pot, Three Types of Mushroom Dumpling, Fried Taro Cubes, Black Sesame Mochi, Beef Cheong Fun - Nice view of the Oakland Alameda Estuary with sailboats, motorboats, kayakers, etc.... - Plenty of Parking - Maitre D is not too friendly - Restrooms are dirty Overall: Tasty food, pricier than other places but has unique Dim Sum dishes, nice view, parking lot, dirty restrooms.

Ambiance: let me start with what's amazing about this restaurant. This restaurant is directly right by the San Leandro Bay, and some of the seats in this restaurant really give you the best view of the bay full with sailboats, which is a view you don't often see. The restaurant also looks regal, in a classic Chinese banquet-style type of way. I loved it. Service: The service was also great - friendly staff and quick service. Food: The food unfortunately didn't quite meet my expectations though. - Steamed Rice Noodle with Pork Ribs: I really enjoyed this a lot. Basically, it was plain chang fen (rice noodle rolls) topped with ribs in black bean sauce. Delicious and I would order this again. - Beed Rice Noodle Rolls: pretty good and the filling was generous. I generally would stay away from any steamed beef type of dim sum, but I enjoyed this because it had a lot of beef filling. - Steamed Bbq Pork Bun: pretty standard with fluffy warm bun but the ratio of meat to bun was a little off; it could use some more filling. - Steamed Egg Custard Bun: it was creamier than it looked. Decent as well. - House Special Shrimp Dumpling: it tasted good, but the skin fell apart almost immediately as soon as I picked it up. Not sure why the integrity of the skin was very fragile. It made a messy eating. - Steamed Siu Mai: I didn't enjoy their pork siu may as the meat was too hard it was almost "crunchy". The texture to me was either off or way different than pork siu may from other places I've tried. - Baked Portuguese Custard Tart: amazing and I would order this again. The crust was super buttery and flaky, and it created a good texture balance with the sweet creamy filling in the middle.

Wonderful and authentic Chinese food featuring Cantonese style cuisine. Amazing and friendly service. Have been here many times for different occasions and always enjoyed the food here.

Service was very good. They were very diligent on removing empty dishes. I never had more than one on my table. Food was pretty good except mango pudding. I like the bay view.

WHEN: Sat @12pm TLDR: Service is great, so is the food. Never a wait. My favorite local Dim Sum spot. I had my sis come early to help reserve a table for our party of 10 since Dim Sum places tend to be busy and there can be a wait, but to our surprise, there was a good amount of open tables! Parking was a bit tricky though even though they have their own lot, which was like 95% packed by the time we got there. It was okay there we just parked on the street right as your enter/exit the. Lot. Not that far. I've been here twice before and absolutely enjoyed it, so I was excited to bring my family here. Everything here was good except for the SOUP DUMPLINGS (Xiao Long Bao), which was hardly soupy. Perhaps they were punctured during the steaming? But everything else was good. So the set up is there are 2 ways you can get food: 1. Fill out a form and hand it to your server. 2. Accept the food that other servers would come around with (mostly no carts) the way traditional dim sum is served. My only slight complaint is that this is where it gets confusing because most servers do not speak/understand English well. So when one of them comes by with dishes that I've already placed an order of, I thought it was the food I had ordered from the form. So additional dishes would be added to the bill without realizing. So here's a tip: Designate one person who filled out the form to order and have them sit on the outside where the servers would approach to help keep track of what is expected to come, and which is obviously add-ones. Anyway, food was great and I appreciate how the CUSTARD PINEAPPLE BUNS had a generous amount of filling. Other highlights were the PORTUGUESE EGG TARTS, CHICKEN FEET, BEEF RICE ROLLS. The thing other thing about the Xiao Long Bao was when we asked how many are in one order, they told us 4. So that helped us determined how many sets to order. But turns out there are 5 so we ordered too many, which ended up also not being good. It seems this place is hit or miss for most people Know, but so far it's been a hit for me, except for the soup dumplings haha. I'm still going to rec this place and continue to come back. I missed it so much during the Pandemic.

If you're lucky, you get to seat by the estuary. Food is delicious and served in generous portions. We'll be back again for sure.

The view at the port was nice, the menu is large, the wait for food wasn't unusually long for weekday lunch, and there is free parking in their lot. Those are the positives. Mediocre, bland dim sum at ok prices but high for such bad dim sum that was was bland and overcooked causing the dim sum to stick to basket and paper, and to eachother, so they they fell apart before reaching your plate. There was no soup at all in the soup dumplings, so they were dry. I was invited here by someone from out of townd, We were shocked at how many Asians ate there, but we suspect that Alameda doen't have much competition for dumplings. It was big disappointment for us, as we have so many cheaper delicious options in San Francisco. It was definitely not worth the congested drive of that Alameda "island" in the afternoon.

This is probably the first place I've been where I didn't expect it to be good due to the Yelp review aggravate of 2.5 stars. The only reason why I decided to come is because I saw this place on the list of tasty buns in an old article posted at a Walnut Creek Dim Sum place. I decided to visit all the places listed in the article as a new goal. Firstly, there was plenty of parking. the place is situated within neighborhoods of condos and apartments. It's right next to the water with a view of the harbor, plenty of boats. Coming in around 11:30 on a Saturday (near open hours), I noticed that there were plenty of Asians sitting in the tables near the window view. By the time I finished my meal, the place was well packed. The food selection was great. The servers come by with dim sum dish options. The dishes were big and plentiful. I got to choose what I want to eat... as opposed to some Dim Sum places nowadays where I just order from a menu. There is also a menu and I used that to order the veggies I didn't see available with the servers. I would give this place a 5 stars... but I ordered #69 (coconut osmanthus pudding) and what came out was just a regular osmanthus jelly. Obviously, I was disappointed that the place didn't know the difference between a pudding and a jelly. Additionally, there was no coconut whatsover

We came here for my mom-in law birthday. we got here a little after 10am. One star knocked down because we wanted to sit by the window but the manager there said all the tables were reserved which was only 4 tables. Food here was ok depends on what you like to eat. The staff here works hard and is always refilling our waters and our teas. by 11am this place was packed already.

Why does place have such low ratings? Probably because of a bunch of haters with unrealistic expectations. Go here for the delicious food but as for any Asian restaurant, don't expect great service (even though service was excellent today). It's all about the food and view here. I just finished dining here and loved everything about it; the food, the service, the panoramic view, and location. Its nostalgic 90's decor brought me back to my childhood when the trends were brass fixtures, track lights, and carpet with elaborate prints. Must have dishes: Braised pork belly Braised duck (Hoisan specialty, unavailable elsewhere) Stir fried steak with green beans I don't give 5 stars often but this gem truly deserves it.

The island city of Alameda has a number of solid options for traditional Cantonese options whether for a dim sum brunch or traditional family style dining, Pacific Lighthouse Restaurant may be the most unassuming of the lot and through my own experience was surprisingly good. Located in the Marina Village district on the north side of the island next to the Oakland Yacht Club, Pacific Lighthouse Restaurant has been open since 2016 taking over a massive space along the Oakland Estuary that clearly was never intended to be a home to banquet-style Chinese dining but has certainly made their home its own. With seaside views of the water and sailboats in the foreground and downtown Oakland in the distance, Pacific Lighthouse Restaurant's greatest claim is its stunning views. In addition to their wondrous view, Pacific Lighthouse Restaurant has an ample private parking lot, which even in Alameda is quite hard to come by. We have heard of the food and view being served up at Pacific Lighthouse Restaurant ever since they opened seven years ago, but never got the chance to until a recent weekday afternoon, when a group of two friends and I chose to dine here for a dim sum brunch. The service at Pacific Lighthouse Restaurant can be a bit inattentive at best, as this is exemplified by the fact there is no host or hostess to greet you at their main area. Customers just walk in and by chance if they can flag down a server or their main manager he'll ask how many are in your party and seat you. Luckily they were not busy with such an abundance of customers on the day we went for lunch. Here at Pacific Lighthouse Restaurant, it is traditional Hong Kong style dim sum ordering and dining as they give you a paper menu that is in both English and Chinese and you mark which menu items that you want to order with either a check mark or a number, if you choose to order more than one item. Since we came for dim sum, we tend to bring our own tea bag, which is allowed but here at Pacific Lighthouse Restaurant they do charge $1.25 per person for hot water regardless if you bring your own accompaniment. The lunchtime menu at Pacific Lighthouse Restaurant is broken up into sections including Steamed, Bun, Baked, Rice Noodle Roll, Pan-Fried & Deep-Fried, Dessert, BBQ Oven and Chef's Recommendations. Although we were here for dim sum, which tends to involve steamed and deep-fried sharable small dishes, we appreciated the totality of the menu being offered at Pacific Lighthouse Restaurant. We opted to put our number "1" next to Steamed Beef Balls, Steamed Siu Mai, House Special Shrimp Dumplings, Baked Custard Buns, Beef Rice Noodle Rolls, and for an entrée, we ordered their Dried Beef Chow Fun. The order of our food being brought out was unique to say the least, as the Beef Balls were followed by our Chow Fun, and then our Custard Bun dessert, concluding with our Siu Mai, Beef Noodle Rolls and Har Gow. It was a unique progression of our meal to say the least, as we tend to enjoy our Chow Fun at the end of our meal to be followed by any desserts, as they tend to cool off before we can enjoy them. Of the food that we did enjoy at Pacific Lighthouse Restaurant, their Beef Chow Fun was a real star, as it was a hearty dish complete with an abundance of sliced yellow onions and bean sprouts, not to mention a plethora of grilled sliced beef. All our dim sim dishes were more than satisfactory, as the best aspect of dining at Pacific Lighthouse Restaurant are the portion sizes of all of their plates from entrées to dim sum, these were some of the largest plates that I have enjoyed for Chinese food in quite some time. From the beef filling in the Beef Rice Noodle Roll to the Custard filling in their Buns, the totality of everything made us full beyond belief, so much so I had enough for not one but two lunchtime meals in the future. Obviously we were pleased enough that return visits will be in our future, because if we could get this much food at such a reasonable price, their dinners must be as plentiful as well, and we would definitely like to compare it with their competitors on the island. Traditional Cantonese dining for lunch and dinner might be easy to come by in Alameda, just not as heartily cooked as it is at Pacific Lighthouse Restaurant.

Me personally I don't like the food here, it's cool inside and it's right by the water, but I wouldn't come here for dim sum. There's other options, but good dim sum is hard to find in these parts. Eh.

Mold inside the dim sum steamer tray. Eat at your own risk. Absolutely abhorrent attitude by the owners, who claimed that they are not the owners in order to dodge the escalation. Nice way to do business. It is too bad because we are long time customers but this will be our last time.

I choose to dine here because They are normally not very busy. Seats and tables are not places too very close to each other. Unlike other dim sum places, the tables are so crowded where one can barely get by. Their comfortable seating and nice harbor views compensated for their food. As for food goes, it mediocre. I forgot to take a picture of the menu. How we, we got one of the set lunch menu for $110. It canes with 1) live fish porridge 2) fish chow fun 3) whole peaking duck 4) two medium dim sum 5) two small dim sum 6) one large and one Specialty dim sum from menu. It was plenty for four adults two kids. Porridge and chow fun was pretty decent. I don't like chow fun with too much oil, their chow fun was pretty on point. But as for the rest of the dishes...mediocre. Another reason I chose this place was that they have parking on site. Restrooms are nice and clean. For the female restrooms, there were 5-6 stalls with a few sinks. They were al cleaned and no odor as I walked in. Cleanliness is important to me. I normally check out the restroom of the place to judge how clean of the place is.

We came for a special occasion meal not dim sum so I'm only talking about fancy weekday lunch: Pros: parking was easy Location is beautiful Interior lovely Walnut shrimp YUM Soup ( tofu & meat) Lobster Tofu veggie dish - all delicious Checked our tea often Good portions, people took items home . Could improve: the frequent of cold water refills & offer forks to kids, restroom not bad but not great. Service is best if you speak Cantonese. For those complaining about prices...I think it's quite reasonable given the sky high costs for rent & running a business these days.

Went there with my wife, we both got really sick (stomach pains) after our meal. Probably due to lot of msg, etc. Service was ok. Not coming back.

The owner and cashier are really rude, the waiters and busboys are cool tho, and the only dish that I enjoyed was the roast duck, everything else wasn't up to par

Hidden gem tucked away in the middle of Alameda. Food is really tasty and lots of variety, portions are generous, prices are reasonable. Nice views, big place, and generous room between tables. Reservations usually not necessary unless it's a very large group. Service is quick and efficient. So glad to have it nearby! Note there are very few carts and they don't have people running around the tables like other dim sum places; instead you order from a menu. They don't make this very clear so I dinged one star for not making it a little easier for newbies to understand how their system works, but once you learn, you're golden.

Food is good here but something sketchy happened us when paying the bill. My mom provided a credit card to pay for the lunch and we waited longer than normal to get the receipt and CC slip to sign. She waived down the headwaiter to finish the bill and he came back to us and simply handed us the credit card and walked off. We all scratched our head for a second. We waived him down to get the bill and he dropped off a receipt with the total and 15% tip, the final total was written down exactly $100 over what the total should be. It wasn't the credit card slip to sign but the receipt total. What is going on. We pointed out that the total is definitely not correct. So, my mom went back to the register with him to make sure it's corrected. Another waiter came by and we told him what was going on and that the slip was completely filled out by someone else with an extra $100 added to the grand total. Shortly, the headwaiter came back with the receipt and the slip to sign. Another thing odd is that they tallied the total with the tip versus allowing us to enter our own tip amount. So, we really hope they didn't charge our card twice...

I don't understand the poor reviews or why business is slow. The food and service were great and they gave us a free lobster!

How does this place have 2.5 stars? The view of the marina is lovely, boats bobbing in the estuary through floor to ceiling windows right out of a 1950's Look Magazine. It is a beautiful place to dine with easy parking. The menu is big and varied, and while there is the occasional miss, the food is very good. It's not Yank Sing but neither are the prices. This place is a gem, and the fact that is is rated below the average McDonald's is a travesty.

The only good thing about this place is the view. I'm Cantonese and Im very disappointed in this dim sum restaurant. The dim sum was not fresh and the quality was not good.

This is another great Asian restaurant. Their menu is different from the other restaurants in town. The service is polite and accommodating. The food is tasty and delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant is large. They have a wall of windows that overlooks the estuary where you can look out and watch the boats go by as you are eating. They are located next door to the Oakland Yacht Club. (Yes, Oakland's Yacht club is in Alameda.) There is plenty of tables and parking spots in the lot. You won't be disappointed.

Monday dimsum is best time to go. No waiting and plenty parking. Located right off the marina. We got seated by window. Beautiful view Attentive and friendly service. - 1 star ...tables was too close together. Nice restroom with 5 stalls. Mark your order on menu. Shrimp dumpling Pork siu mai Lotus leaves sticky rice Spare ribs in black bean sauce Fried turnip cake Shrimp rice roll Black sesame bun Egg tart Cilantro shrimp dumpling Stuff eggplants Custard bun Chicken feet Beef rice roll Every thing was so good and reasonable prices. 13 items under $90.

7/10 I thought this place was a solid dim sum place with a decent view if you're into boats. The big standoutsfor me was the shrimp wrapped in fried bean curd skins, which had a nice crunchy exterior and shrimp paste type interior that tasted really good. The sweet chinese donuts were also pretty good - the donuts had a sweet eggy interior that can be hard to find, but were served cold. If these were hot, they would have been a big standout as well. Everything else was meh to okay and pretty much what you'd expect to get at a dim sum place. We had jellyfish, shrimp noodle rolls, shu mai, har gow, cubed turnip cakes with XO sauce, and others. Parking was pretty easy and the restaurant didn't get too full even on a Saturday. To sum, decent dim sum and would come back, but wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

The dim sum here is meh at best. You order from a paper menu where you mark the items you would like. The dishes came out quickly however steamed items like sui mai and har gow were barely warmed. The food was bland and the fried items tasted like they were fried in old oil. Yuck. The service was ok but the worse experience was with the elderly man in a suit that acted like he was in charge. He was extremely rude when we asked for water. He barked at us in Cantonese and when our billed came, he threw it on the table which brushed my sisters forehead. He walked away without apologizing or acknowledging what he did. I could live with bland food but the rude service is unacceptable. I will make it a point to tell everyone to stay away from this place. I will definitely not return.

This crap is so horrible I expected something so delicious for a fancy place but this place is bullcrap

We haven't came here for a while and decided to give it a try for our "Foodie Thursday ". They were running a dim sum special for $69.99 and it included choice of 2 (S), 2 (M), 1(L), 1 (K), a crispy pigs feet, and a lobster noodle. It was quite a bit of food for just the two of us, plenty of leftovers. The atmosphere was great as we were sat next to their large window overlooking the Alameda estuary. Food and service were good with one exception. Our Siu Mai was raw in the middle. I notified the head waiter and he immediately took it away and ordered a new one for us. I would come back again and hopefully my next visit will have no mishaps.

American Express cardholder beware! I had lunch today with my parents for a total of $90 and tried to pay with my American Express Platinum Card. The waiter took it, turned around and literally tossed it on the table in front of me, demanding a Visa or Master Card, saying AmEx changes too much of fees. Feeling embarrassed I had to dig through my wallet for my spare Visa Card. I was dumbfounded with the feeling that I was being looked down for using an AmEx Platinum or what. They clearly have the American Express Welcome sign posted at their front door.

Gonna review about the food and then the service. The food: 1) Look at the picture and see how terrible the seafood pan fried noodles is. Sauce for it was poured on the noodles but isn't enough to even cover the pan fried noodles. And as you can see, how sad looking it is with the 6 pieces of seafood provided. This is unacceptable. 2) Peking style was alright. But not something to rave about and not something that would bring me there. 3) Roast duck was so so. There's better duck in Oakland Chinatown or Chef Wok. Wasn't flavorful but at least it was tender and juicy. The service: 1) Tried placing an order online through their website for pick up but order kept failing and cancelled. Decided to call in to order. But when arrived to pick up, could not find order and so had to wait for about 40 minutes from initial scheduled pick up time. 2) When they brought the food out, the gravy for the pan fried noodle already spilled in the take away bag (haven't even move once received the bag). Asked them to replace it but they said no as can't make it again. Wow - you made a mistake and you put it on the customer? 3) Service was rude throughout the encounter. I think it's time for us to bring our business elsewhere.

I wish to give "0" star. Today August 20,2023 was very humiliated. I came out crying from the restaurant. I should read all these reviews first. It's true that the food is not worth "the price on the menu" we pay $69.20 for 5 of the cheapest items. When I pay the POS comeback to demand 15 percent of the tip. She erase my lest than 15 percent tip and write it by herself the 15 percent and forcing me to sign. I speak also with the old man(POS) too and again full me up with all his saliva English accent so rude. They told us the tip in there is mandatory. Only because I don't have money and the time to sue them this place. But the best thing I can do is never comeback and let you know how rude and demanding they're acting. I thought tip is up to you. ...depending on the service.

Came here for Father's Day. Didn't have to wait long, but the rest, went downhill from there. The food didn't come out fast, waited the whole meal and still didn't get all our food. We've been sitting for more than 25 minutes just waiting for the tab. We tried to cancel our last item but they insist that they give it to us. We asked multiple times and they said it's coming. At this point, I'm thinking it's a donut starting from start to finish. I won't be coming back for dimsum. We've seen people come and go before us and we're just waiting. We even had to walk up to take care of the bill. If you know you have a holiday, please bring in more people. This wait is ridiculous.

We have lived in the area for only 60 days and this place is one of our absolute favorites!!! The food is Outstanding and the staff and management are AMAZING!!! We will be eating here as often as our budget allows

This place charges you a difference price than what is on the menu. What a scam are they running? We finished our entire meal when we see the final bill and nearly every item is a higher price than what we agreed upon. Their explanation was that it was a 7 year old menu, but every menu they placed on the tables was this menu. They then came and placed a paper menu with the "new prices." This should had been what we ordered from, not the old menu that you continue to use. When confronted, they said they have been doing this for 7 years and people understand. No, that is false advertising and a violation of fair trade. They eventually reduced the item prices to the original menu, but they added a $20 corkage fee which their initially said they would not charge. Wow, you really just need to "get us?" Avoid this place if you want to pay for what you agreed to when you ordered the food.

Visited on 06/29/21. Came to visit my sister who recommended this place, so why not try it out. We ordered 3 dishes. On their website, each plate was "$13". However when we went to order in person each plate was actually $18! I even received their menu in person and it also states "$18". Disappointed that they do not have their updated menu online. Food was delicious but will not come back because of the price. I also paid in cash and HIGHLY recommend to ONLY pay in cash. I was a little skeptical on the workers there and lost a bit of trust once I stepped foot inside so did not want to risk using my credit card. I also did not receive a receipt, another reason to just pay in cash.

The food and service are pretty tasty and authentic. The price is good and portions better.

This is the first one-star review I've ever given. I love supporting smaller, local businesses and I will pretty much eat anything (as long as it's edible, I'll give it 3-4 stars), but I will never return to this restaurant and I encourage others not to eat here. There was a fly in the bottom of one of our take-out trays. I was eating in the car outside the restaurant in the parking lot with my family since we planned on going hiking afterwards. We were almost done with our meal and I was just cleaning up the leftovers when I lifted up a piece of pickled radish and found a fly underneath. The fly was obviously dead and looked like it had been marinating in the food's liquids for a while. There weren't *any* flies in the car -- the windows had been rolled up, the doors were closed, we opened the take-out boxes and took them out of the bags only *after* we had gotten back into the car. It's also winter, which means there aren't many insects flying around anyways. We took the tray back to the restaurant hoping to get a refund. No big deal, because things happen sometimes, but it took 20 minutes of arguing to get a refund. The manager and server we spoke to accused of planting the fly there and said the fly had gotten into our food after we had opened the box, stating we had already eaten most of the food. Yes, we *had* already eaten most of the food. We didn't see the fly until the end of our meal because it was at the bottom of the tray, underneath the food they piled on top. We suspect the fly had somehow gotten into their pickled vegetables stored in the kitchen. Since the dish had layered vegetables on the bottom and layers of meat + cilantro on the top, we only noticed it when we had reached the bottom layer of pickled vegetables. The food wasn't the problem. The customer service is the problem. I would have given this place a 3-4 star rating based on the food alone (a little pricy but pretty good), but the fact they accused us of planting the fly and accused us of purposely trying to make the restaurant look bad, this place and it's management deserves a 1 star rating. If they had just given us the refund for the dish, my family and I *and* the restaurant could have quickly moved on with our day. But we had to argue and defend ourselves for 20 minutes. I love food and I pride myself on supporting my community. I know how much 1 star ratings can hurt restaurants, which is why I'm always so generous with my reviews and why this is the first 1 star rating I've ever had to give. My family has frequented this restaurant since it first opened but we won't be returning. We've been here for birthday dinners, Chinese New Year dinners, pre-Black Friday shopping breakfast -- but we won't be returning.

I had an invitation to Pacific Lighthouse Restaurant for a birthday party on a Sunday evening. When I arrived to the restaurant, it had plenty of parking and was located in the Marina Village area of Alameda. It was located next to a yacht harbor and the Estuary with view into Downtown Oakland. Inside, the restaurant was large and spacious, a place that would accommodate large parties and banquets. They also have private rooms, which the host of the party, had the gathering for our 70 people. The hosts and honorees made their speeches before the dinner party started. As with most Chinese banquets, the first course was the cold plate, which had beef and pig's feet, jellyfish salad, bean curd, and bbq pork. Dishes that followed included honey walnut prawns, steak cube and choy sum, seafood tofu egg drop soup, poached chicken, abalone and vegetables, ginger and scallions lobster, tea smoked Chilean sea bass, longevity noodles and longevity peach steamed buns. Overall, most of the dishes were good, but nothing really stood out as I've had more memorable dishes at other restaurants for regular meals and banquet meals.

COVID PICK UP (1 star) -Very unorganized -prices online doesn't reflect prices on menu at pick up -estimated time when delivery is ready is an additional 20. I did a call in and they still took 20 mins longer than estimated and it's not even busy. -had to ring the bell twice to get any help -was sent to different parts of the building to pick up my order. Worst pick up experience during covid.

good food. food comes out fast and hot. plenty of space. bright ambience. no prob getting server's attention.

The food actually is pretty good. We tried dim sum before COVID. Recently tried dishes from menu. Happy with the food and services was decent except the waitress was trying to have us order more. A bit annoying. But what was worst at the end when I did the check. The waitress looked at the tip immediately and requested me to give more. I said that was how much I am willing to give. She would not let go and requested me to change amount. I disagreed and she went ahead to wrote the amount. My husband just didn't want to make a scene and we left. but will never come back. I cannot believe it.

This place is open for outdoor dining in the back of their restaurant right by the water! They don't have many tables - about 10 tables. I came on a Monday a little before 12pm and the food came out relatively fast. Most of the food was good but nothing amazing, just satisfied my dimsum cravings. Some of the deep fried dishes were undercooked so they had to be taken back and taken off my bill. A lot of items on their dimsum menu are also unavailable but the staples are. Nothing I ate today really stood out, it was just good. I was pretty satisfied with the meal but the service at the end was just baffling to me. I grew up going to Chinese restaurants so I'm used to mediocre service. I gave a waiter my credit card to pay the bill, waited over 10 minutes, asked another waiter where my credit card and bill was, and they said he's working on it. Meanwhile, the same server I gave my credit card to was giving back receipts to other tables so where was mine?? So we asked him then a couple minutes later, he just gives me my credit card back, with no receipt nothing for me to sign. Then he comes back saying he never charged my card and it fell out... This whole process to pay the bill took 20 minutes which is ridiculous. The owner said he's new so hopefully he won't make that mistake again but I won't be back anytime soon.

Dim sum is decent. We came on a weekend and were seated right away in one of the rooms. There was a party happening in the main room, but that didn't bother us. Food is pretty good. Definitely a nice place to get Sunday brunch with family. Parking can be tough though. The lot nearby is not for restaurant parking, but folks park there anyway. It's also right next to the ocean, so the view is nice! Definitely worth a visit.

Beware! The prices are listed on a paper menu but when you get your bill it's totally different, much higher! During service we only asked our waitress for three forks, she didn't even serve us our food other ladies gave us our food. At billing, the same waitress notice we put a custom tip and pointed out the suggested tip listed on the receipt at 15%, 20%, 25%. She pointed and said we need to change it to 15%. She told us it's mandatory we pay at least 15%. Spoke to the manager, a tall Asian man wearing an ill fitting suite told us we should pay 15% when we go out to eat. I told him tipping is not mandatory in California and it's a gratuity based on service. He acted like he didn't care and was not going to do anything for us. We left, vowing never to come back and get cheated from this bad practice Restaurant. Go somewhere else. Save yourself from getting angry and cheated. Plenty of good Dim Sum elsewhere. You've been warned! Beware!!
