When we finally had enough cell signal, we decided to take a chance on Pacifico for Dinner. It was better than we hoped. We are picky about mole and this was superb. Fish tacos were amazing. Tacos Dorados and Enchiladas also were excellent. Staff were friendly, kind, and just lovely. And after a very long day of traveling it was just what we needed.

Google
Large portions, outdoor dining and friendly service make this a solid choice for Calistoga. We had chile rellanos, tamales, fajitas, and margaritas. All tasty.

Google
It’s unfortunate that Calistoga restaurants are more focused on the tourist than the locals but at least at Pacifico’s they seem to be able to do both. The restaurant is nice and the service was excellent. The food was delicious but a little pricey for Mexican food but it was expected considering where we were. I highly recommend the Fajitas.

Google
Delicious Mexican food with lots of variety and excellent service. Not your typical menu. Tastes homemade/authentic. Definatly recommend. Casual and friendly atmosphere/service.

Great portions-4. Nice and hospitable server (waitress)-4. Reasonable pricing- 3. Overcooked prawns and meat, not tasty at all-1. Waited over 30 minutes for food when restaurant was empty-2. Overpriced compared to with quality, taste and wait time. Total of 2.

We came on a lovely 70° day in January, got lushed up at a winery and stopped by here for lunch. The empanadas were very good, especially paired with the red pickled cabbage. We also had the parradillos and guacamole, those were good too. 🥑🌮🌶️

I have eaten at this place twice when visiting Saint Helena Hospital with my mother, it is absolutely wonderful. The food is delicious and authentic. The service is good and the drinks are exceptional. The bartender is pretty pleasing to the eyes as well.😉 I imagine I will be visiting again, and I highly recommend the empanadas.

I couldn't ask for more. Best tamales I've had in a long time. Fresh food, great service and atmosphere. Prices are a little high but everything is expensive in California.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican cuisine is alive and well in wine country! Located on the busy intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Cedar Streets in the heart of downtown Calistoga, Pacifico Restaurante Mexicano is a traditional taqueria and cantina that specializes in entrees that are worthy enough to be featured at your favorite resort along the Pacific coast of Mexico, let alone along a small street in the heart of wine country. What brought us here on a recent weekend afternoon was a visit to a nearby winery that a friend happened to be a member of, and after an early afternoon of wine tasting and charcuterie and cheese pairings, we were both kind of famished for something local and affordable. After driving down Lincoln Avenue from the Silverado Trail side and evaluating our options, Pacifico Restaurante Mexicano was like a beacon of light that shined down on us, almost beaconing us to join them for some chips and salsa. It also helped that there was a parking spot along Lincoln Avenue for us to take right nearby. There are actually two entrances to Pacifico Restaurante Mexicano, as one leads visitors to their bar area, and the other leads visitors to their dining room and host station. We took the former and graciously sat in their dining room, which even though it was the lunch hour on a weekend afternoon it wasn't too busy, but by the time we left they would be bustling with customers. The menu at Pacifico Restaurante Mexicano is separated into categories including Appetizers, Salads, Mariscos, Grilled, Tradicionales, and their Beverages which include Margaritas, Cocktails, Vinos, Cervezas and Soft Drinks. Although many of their menu items sounded delicious, there was something about feasting on Enchiladas, especially when I was a smidge enlightened from the wine tasting that we had just enjoyed that sounded rather tempting. And when I found out that diners receive two enchiladas on their plate with the options of shredded beef, chicken, or cheese topped with a rich red sauce, I was sold. The fact that you could mix and match your enchilada filling at no extra cost, and the entrée comes served with sour cream, guacamole, rice, sweet corn, choice of beans, of which I chose refried, I was even more on board, as these days all of these add-ons would come at a cost at other restaurants but thankfully not here. My dining mate ordered their Burrito Supremo, which gives diners a choice of steak, carnitas, shredded chicken or beef for their filling, and too is served with choice of beans, black or refried, rice, guacamole, sour cream, and is topped with red sauce, and melted cheese. To drink with our meal my friend ordered a libation of their choice and I, needing a bit of waking up, ordered a Harvey Winehard's bottled root beer which was served chilled along with an ice filled glass. It wouldn't take too long for our meal to be prepared and presented to our table, what would help was that we were served a complimentary basket full of freshly fried tortilla chips and salsa to enjoy. Once our meal did come, my enchiladas were two perfectly warmed tortillas topped with an abundance of sauce and filled with a ton of shredded meat. It was so much food thanks to the sides of guacamole, sour cream, rice and beans that after a mere few bites, I was already full and ready to take the rest of my meal home with me, which would make for the perfect meal over the course of a few days. Our total bill would come out to be $64.65 before gratuity was added in, which was actually quite reasonable with two entrées and two beverages, and both of us had meals to take home from our trip to wine country. With solid Mexican fare and even occasional live music for diners to partake in, some of which is offered during weekdays from 4-6:30 p.m. at Happy Hour prices, Pacifico Restaurante Mexicano is a solid hearty alternative to the many other restaurants that offer more traditional fare in wine country. Here's to their longevity and success for decades to come!

Yelp
I would agree with yelp's rating of three Stars. Would l eat hear again not likely'. I love Mexican food it's an addiction! Everywhere I go I try the Mexican food Taco trucks pull me into their vortex. So it's happy hour street tacos $10 for2 ok drinks look reasonably priced. $20 burrito hmm , $20 burgers. Nothing special just average doesn't cut it for me, Service kinda slow' ok let's critique the five Dollar steak street tacos $10 for2. Well I was super hungry and still not great dry, hard, crispy, like it was sitting under a heat lamp or something opposite of excellent. Oh did I mention chips and salsa not included $6 during Happy hour. So all and all I'm not happy after having happy hour here. Adios !! Note it is Calistoga and options are limited. It is the Napa Valley and things are priced a little higher.

Yelp
We walked in on a Sunday at 1:00 pm in a Saturday in the bar area and were seated quickly. The chips were good. Crunchy, fresh, and warm, yummy! I had the homemade chili rellenos. So good. I think the sauce was best I've ever had. The fried batter was not mushy. You should definitely start eating it when the server first brings it out. Thank you for a delicious lunch!

Yelp
I am so glad to have this amazing Mexican restaurant in Calistoga. The fish tacos were absolutely fantastic, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. My friend, who does not eat meat, was thrilled with the taco salad, which was packed with fresh veggies. She mentioned it is rare to find such a satisfying veggie-filled option, and it made her day. The salsa that came with the chips was incredible too. I enjoyed it on both the chips and the fish tacos.

Yelp
Girls trip and my sister from a different mother tells me that this place is great. I was hoping to get something other than Mexican food, which we can get back home, but this place was so good that we went two days in a row! Nicely decorated restaurant on the corner downtown, they have outdoor seating, indoor seating and bar seating. Prices on the regular menu is on the pricey side, which is consistent within the area. However, they have a great budget friendly happy hour in the bar area daily from 4-6:30pm with most dishes between $8 to $11. - Tacos dorado with shredded beef had good quality meat and stuffed with both beef and cheese - Fish tacos tasted fresh and are a healthy option - Ceviche is made with shrimp and also a nice healthy option - chicken taquito's are nicely plated with what tasted like homemade mole, pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole Service was very attentive and we truly enjoyed our meals.

Yelp
Stopped in while in the area for happy hour enjoyed margaritas $8 great price and nice server will come back again when in the area .
google avatar

Millie K.

Yelp
The interior of this restaurant is divided into two dining areas and then a spacious outdoor space. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was ok, but for the price they charge, the food can be elevated with special ingredients or a new spin on a classic.
google avatar

Yelp
The worst Mexican food I've had. The rice was even terrible. Bad fish tacos. Nachos were even bad. The service was good but that's it.
google avatar

Yelp
Went to the happy hour and had some tasty food. Tacos were good. Service was good. We live in Calistoga and eat here often. Recommend you check it out!

Yelp
Give this 3 & 1/2 stars. Went for a girls trip to Calistoga and we wanted great Mexican food. The place is on a corner and decorated great. The service was ok. The waitress messed up my friends drinks and gave a non tequila drinker some tequila. It could have just been the bartender but my other friends drink was just ok. The food was good, you start off with chips and salsa. I had the fish tacos, my friends, the chimichanga and burrito.

Yelp
Lunch for a group of 9. No problem ! Good and drinks came fast and were all very tasty. The mole' was very good, 2 in our party got that. I got the chimichanga which was reportedly deep fried but was not crispy like I was expecting but it was covered under 3 kinds of sauce, kinda looked like a Mexican flag... it was tasty but we took most of it to go as we'd had the tortilla soup, which was glorified chicken soup with a few tortilla crisis in it. ( Quite yummy) The hero of lunch was the tiger shrimp wrapped in bacon and covered in cheese in a bed of rice with a warm corn salad and a chipotle aioli... OMG... it was to die for... Between that and the soup it was plenty for 2 to share... Great ambiance, soft Mexican music playing in the background so that it elevated the meal and we could all hear each other and talk at normal volume. Would totally return here again. Prices were very reasonable.

Yelp
Great enchiladas, filled with shredded beef. The beans and rice were average. Crispy chicken taco was fantastic but shell overcooked. We arrived at 6:34 for happy hour but told we were too late. No problem , we just had water instead of spending $16 for 2 margaritas. Restaurants loss ! And we have never been to a Mexican restaurant that didn't serve tortillas with the combination dinners, nor a small salad. Overall it was a good dinner

Yelp
My friends took me there yesterday as it is one of their favorite spots as they love the Margaritas. For me it's a bit too "Tex Mex" in the way dishes are prepared; covered in sauce and cheese. Not my preference but my Tamales were decent enough though I found it odd they came unwrapped and covered in sauce/cheese. My friends enjoyed their Burrito and Enchiladas and the Margaritas tasted good. Arturo the bartender and our server did an excellent job. So a solid bet if you like Tex Mex and a nice bar.

Yelp
Pacifico's is one of those places that you go to for years. The food is consistently the same and you get exactly what to expect. The bartender and many of the staff have been there for years and always greet you with a smile. The space itself is cute, nothing fancy, but a nice sit down Mexican restaurant with great outdoor seating on the street. They make some of the best margaritas you'll find.
google avatar

Yelp
Love their fish tacos, one of my favorite places to eat in Calistoga and I lived here for over 40 years

Yelp
The best carne asada chimichanga I've ever had! The ratio of the meat made it clear it was the main ingredient , so good and fresh! The guacamole is a must and the presentation of all the food was beautiful. The service was great all around , the drinks, bar, and atmosphere makes me want to go back, very welcoming and nice.

Charlene G.

Yelp
Great service and good food! Everything was fresh and tasty. Better than average chips and salsa. Rice and beans well seasoned. We will be back next time we are in Calistoga

Yelp
If you are in Calistoga STOP and eat here! What an amazing place Currently they have indoor and outdoor seating. All employees were nice but Adriana is a 5 star employee. I ordered the veggie fajitas and my husband had the shrimp fiesta. He substituted black beans for the corn. The fajitas have a great variety of veggies and the flavor is wonderful. Comes with salsa, lettuce, avocado, rice and beans. I left off the sour cream. Comes with 3 tortillas. My husband had the shrimp fiesta. He substituted the corn for black beans. The shrimp are wrapped in bacon and we're great. The star however was the chipotle aioli that came with the shrimp. OMG! I would put this on everything. Whatever you order please ask for a side of this. You will not be sorry Thank you Adriana. I could see your smile through your mask and you have a wonderful personality.

Yelp
Highly recommend the Empanadas. Very good and the service was great as well. Our server Blanca was extremely nice and came by frequently to make sure we had what we needed.

Yelp
We stopped in to watch the World Cup Mexico vs Saudi. Ordered a beer, chips, salsa, Chicken Fajitas The game was exciting. Sorry Mexico is out of the WC. We were routing for them all the way. The place was so cold we needed to our coats on, the server has a heavy jacket as well. She did her best under the circumstances of it being freezing inside. This was right after they opened so maybe it warmed up later. Pretty sure the chips came from a back, salsa nothing exciting, Fajitas average other than the bell peppers, onions cooked perfectly. Chicken tough.
google avatar

Doria M.

Yelp
We have been dining here for years. It's always good. The taco salad is huge and delicious.. as were the fajitas . The servers are always friendly, helpful and prompt .
google avatar

Ken H.

Yelp
Our group of three arrived for happy hour and sat in the bar area. Had some beers and shared a plate of nachos. We were also greeted with a basket of tortilla chips and salsa. Everything was excellent.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Wanted a convenient dinner near my B&B and this place fit the bill. Plenty of seating on a Friday night in the dining area; the adjacent bar area was a bit more crowded and, as I found out halfway through my meal, much more interestingly decorated, including a pleasant water feature. Ordered the steak fajitas, comes with complimentary fresh chips and pico de gallo salsa. I prefer my salsa a little smoother and spicier, but the pico is all they offer. The fajita was tasty, had the expected sizzle the portion size was good. No complaints about the $28 price. Couldn't decide between four and five stars, settled on four only because the experience wasn't mind blowing. But it was a very good meal.

Yelp
Good stuff, period! Highly recommended! Yummy burritos and equally yummy margaritas! Stopped here for lunch after some wine tasting! Glad we did! If you are in Napa, it is a must!

Yelp
Nearby many inns and spas. Complimentary chips and salsa. Service can be spotty for water service. Nice sized portions. Clean. Quaint. Local. Reasonably priced.

Yelp
Walked in from the rain on a cool January evening to dine at Pacifico but it felt like the a/c was running and the floors were quite slick (for reasons unknown). The menu was delivered quickly and the attendant friendly but I didn't want to sit there with my jacket on, so I left.
google avatar

ERIC M.

Yelp
I've been coming to Pacifico few times annually, food is very consistent taste wise and portion size, not like some other places I've been to where price increase and portions have become smaller, and quality down, service is friendly ambience is nice, if you're lucky you might catch some live music in the evening. I ordered the carne asada plate, wife ordered the shrimp fajitas, which both were very good, was enough to fill us both, also serve chips with salsa at no charge. Salsa is a little spicy but good

Yelp
Today, after weeks of heavy rain, my wife and I decided to venture out for a long drive up valley through Knights Valley, around Franz Valley School Road and back into Calistoga. We arrived late afternoon and decided to stop by our favorite Calistoga Mexican spot for a bite to eat. It was only 55 degrees F. outside but we still wanted to eat outside in order to enjoy the clear weather. Even though they hadn't opened their outdoor seating they were happy to set a table for us and move an outdoor heater over to warm us. They even turned on their fountain for ambiance! When the food arrived we were reminded just how delicious and consistent this place is. As usual, the chicken mole enchiladas were outstanding! They arrived on a large plate filled with enchiladas, rice, frijoles, quacamole, sour cream and a tasty scoop of some sort of sweet corn delight. My plate with 2 tamales arrived filled with all of the accompaniments as above with the exception of the sour cream. I ordered one chicken with green sauce and one beef with red sauce. They are the best I've found in the entire Napa Valley! I almost forgot to mention the huge side order of guacamole we ordered. It's also the best version we've found in the Valley! When you combine it with their freshly made salsa it will make your taste buds want to sing! Oh, and the delicious Millionaire Margarita? Well, you had better find a driver! Haha! By the time I thought of taking pictures we had already eaten about half of everything so it looked pretty decimated. Oops! I highly recommend giving Pacifico a try the next time you are in Calistoga!

Yelp
We were driving and pulled in a little randomly but looked it up before. This place was great the Ceviche was on point nice seating and ambience.

Yelp
Excellent food. Service 1st class. Ambiance like home..... recommended Highly..... Calistoga always a great place to visit.

Yelp
Great spot to pull up a chair and have some happy hour deals. This was our first time and we weren't starving but we were a tad bit hungry. I had a chicken soft taco and it was extremely good. Not too spicy. Just right. Brian had the tortilla chicken soup and wings. The soup was very good. It was a little chilly around 5 here. So hit the spot. And the BBQ wings were good too. Nice stop for something small. But they have a large menu if you are wanting authentic mexican, make this one of your stops.
google avatar

Karen F.

Yelp
Not only did I love the vibe inside this spot, the food was delicious. Live music was playing tonight (Sunday), staff was very friendly and accommodating, there is both indoor and outdoor seating, and a nice plentiful menu. Everything seemed fresh and was also very tasty. I chose tacos dorado. Something I don't see on a menu very often and loved as a kid. My husband had a taco salad and said it was very good. It was loaded with spinach, and spring salad mix with the other usuals. Definitely recommend if u are in Calistoga and craving a nice Mexican dinner.

Yelp
I would come back for the fish tacos. The bartender is super nice and the people at the bar are very friendly.

Yelp
My family and I have always experienced outstanding food and service here and this dining experience was absolutely fantastic! I'd like to thank the restaurant staff for seating us in 10 minutes without reservations on a very busy night of Calistoga's Lit Tractor Parade! We ordered drinks and empanadas for appetizers and they came right out, fast! My wife and I both ordered the chicken enchiladas and our daughter the super burrito, everything was outstanding and we had our meals served quickly! Our server was fantastic and friendly with great service! Thank you very much for a fantastic culinary experience and a great beginning to our fun night!

Yelp
I'm going to have to pass on this spot. I was in the area for a gig downtown when myself and the group I was with were craving Mexican food. Keeping in mind that I was in Calistoga, I figured my options would be limited. I browsed Yelp a little bit to find that I was correct, few options and not many places were open at that hour. Pacifico was nearby and still open so we decided to take out chances. We did an online order which was convenient, and had someone go pick it up. First impression, was a large portion, fairly big burrito. However it was $19 for a burrito which is a bit outrageous in my opinion, but I kept and open mind and dug in. Nope, not worth it at all. My burrito was very bland, little to no flavor. Some burritos came with the sour cream and guacamole on the outside, some came with it on the inside? We were confused as to why they came different and weren't sure which their usual presentation is. The others agreed, not much flavor, mostly piled with rice and beans. The veggie wasn't that exciting and the meats were nothing to get excited about. I'll stick to my usual taquerias. :(
google avatar

Judy O.

Yelp
The food here was the main thing I was concerned with after a long day of manual labor. Thankfully the food came out quick and hot. I had the chicken enchiladas which were good. The beans and rice and polenta were also good. My mom ordered the super burrito which looked awesome. The decor is very cute, very warm and charming. And the service was pretty amazing I have to say. Our server was the sweetest lady, so charming and attentive. I do recommend doing your business before you leave the house/office, especially if you sit. The bathrooms need a major overhaul. Not for aesthetic reasons, more ergonomic reasons. Can barely access the stalls, definitely not ADA compliant. And the toilet seat wasn't even attached. Yikes. If they convert the restrooms to a single ada stall, it will serve customers much better.
google avatar

Denisa C.

Yelp
Over prices but I guess for the area it's normal. Food was actually really good . I had taco salad. It was huge. Beef was fresh. Lots of avocado and source creams. The margarita was good I tired blended and it was watery so I asked if they could change it to on the rocks and that was yummy. Server was kinda rude but we were being difficult when we didn't like the blended margarita that might of put us on the wrong foot from the start. But things a got better after a few margaritas and he realized we were jerks after all.
google avatar

Serge B.

Yelp
Great food. We had grilled shrimp nachos and fish tacos were delicious. Costumer service was A+ Adrian our server was super friendly and accommodating.
google avatar

Luanna B.

Yelp
Extremely delicious food Amazing prices for the location Great service (hard to find in the Calistoga area) Colorful restaurant I highly recommend the tamales dish
google avatar

Cari N.

Yelp
I had a craving for enchiladas and Pacifico did not disappoint! Service was great, tons of outdoor and indoor seating. Guacamole was tasty, enchiladas were good, burrito was massive and tasty. If you like spicy ask for the green spicy sauce on the side, wowsa it has a kick!
google avatar

Tyler C.

Yelp
Mexican restaurant in Wine country. A menu that can make everyone happy. Kids menu available. All the standard taco, burrito, enchilada expected. Chips and restaurant salsa served complimentary as soon as you arrive. Indoor and outdoor seating options. Food was good. And service wasn't particularly fast or slow. Perfect for a break from activities of wine country (wine and beer served here too).

Michael L.

Yelp
Great service and very pleasant decor. The dinner however was below average. My carnitas chimichanga was rather bland although the sauce coverings were nice. My wife's mole poblano was close to unacceptable...the mole was bland and the chicken was tough and had a lot of gristle in it. Might be a nice place for the bar and bites, but wouldn't recommend for dinner if you like Mexican food.
google avatar

Matthew G.

Yelp
The menu has been reduced and the prices have been increased. As a local who works in town, it's possible I would come here more often, but this simply isn't affordable. A burrito is $19, and that's basically the cheapest thing on the menu. (Fajitas are over $25, for example) A bit steep for Mexican food (you can get a good burrito from Puerto Vallarta market or even Cal-Mart for less than half the price. The atmosphere here is obviously better, though, and they used to have mariachi bands on weekends, not sure if that's still the case in our current conditions.)

Sue C.

Yelp
Love this place. We come to Calistoga 3-4 times a year and always include this restaurant during our stay. Food and service is always good. We love love to eat in the bar.
google avatar

Yelp
We came here Saturday and they were practicing safety measures and had warmers for outdoor dining. We had a very polite waiter who was extremely accommodating. Always made sure my water with lemon was full and never intrusive, The margarita my husband had was very strong! We enjoyed people watching on Lincoln Ave which is the "Main Street" of Calistoga. Lots of fun shops and stuff nearby. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup as many of you know I have to have it if it is on a menu - their version is very light fresh and healthy feeling. I did ask to add salt and pepper. They obliged. We all tried it and liked it! It was definitely home made! The tortilla strips didn't go mushy either. Perfect to warm you up on a chily day, but it didn't feel heavy on the stomach, The chips and salsa are very good and never ending - the salsa is very tomatoe based not too spicy for little ones and they have crayons for kids and I love that! Kept the kids busy! My kids got the kids nachos and loved them! The refried beans had flavor and they let me try the black beans too, they could've used a tad more seasoning IMO The wet burrito my husband got came with three fun sauces! A white spicy sauce cream like which I loved - a green sauce and a red sauce! You can tell they were made fresh. Good quality ingredients here. I had a combo plate with a chili relleno - I've had a lot of these and this was a really good one! It was not over cooked into mush. The pepper was a perfect al Dente . The amount of sauce and topping /inside cheese ratio was balanced perfect. The enchilada with the shredded - beef or pork? Dang it - I cannot remember but wowie! It was so flavorful! It was like a barbacoa vibe! I loved it! The rice wasn't anything spectacular, but what I really love was the cute side of sweet ground corn! My son loved it and it is hard to find in Mexican restaurants these days - Idky ! I am glad they serve it! They even had beautiful plating and the traditional radish garnish on the plates! It was a wonderful meal we enjoyed as a family! The food didn't make me feel sluggish heavy or bloated. There is a park across the street we also enjoyed after our meal! Thank you for this great experience!
google avatar

Christine I.

Yelp
Really cute restaurant in the middle of downtown. Has a total Mexico feel. We had a nice patio spot outside for some fresh air and people watching. The chips and salsa was bland but our entrees were tasty. I ordered the chile relleno and rice and a skinny margarita, hello tequila! Nice little stop to carb up before hitting more wineries.
google avatar

Kevin B.

Yelp
Solid happy hour! After a long day of wine tasting, all I wanted was a beer and later a margarita! haha The staff was very nice and personal, same with the locals who apparently show up in force for this HH! $5 beers, $8 margaritas, $8 nachos & ceviche! All the food was good but you can't beat those prices, see you next time Pacifico!

Dorothy C.

Yelp
Great service, delicious guacamole, pozole with all the fixin's, and carnitas Michoacán. Light, yummy, fresh churros and very good flan.
