Food here is amazing! We ordered shareable plates, initially we were skeptical, but once the food came out, we were very pleased. We started with chicken and ham croquettes, which was amazing. Then we had the chicken cannelloni, which is more like enchiladas stuffed with very well seasoned pulled chicken and lots of cheesy sauce on top, it was excellent. Then the fried prawns in garlic sauce, and this was the highlight!! It is expensive (€36 for 6 small prawns!!), but worth the price. Followed by the tomato burrata and tomato cheese, and it was great! I recommend booking reservations as it is very full! If you don’t have reservation, you may either not get admitted or they let you sit on the bar, but unlikely to find a table. Ambience is very nice, most staff can communicate in English. I loved the experience here

Google
An AMAZING spot that you must dine at during your time in Barcelona. The food was absolutely incredible. My husband and I couldn’t stop talking about the food at this restaurant, and still dream about it. We ordered several tapas and savored each one. We sat at the bar and loved the vibe of the restaurant, and were well taken care of by the staff. Do not hesitate to eat here! You won’t be disappointed!

Google
Great ambience, but the tapas didn’t steal the show. The potato with hot sauce was divine. The seafood wasn't the freshest, and the Crab Brioche just tasted like onions. Lots of servers around, but are only attentive to locals Pleasantries seemed more like a formality. Michelin guide vibes, but overall, underwhelming.

Zahra AlQatari

Google
If you’re alone or just two people, you probably won’t need a reservation, they can usually seat you at the bar. I went during a busy time and was able to get a spot there without any issues. The staff may not speak perfect English, but they were absolutely wonderful, super helpful with recommendations and attentive throughout my visit. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a great vibe. Definitely worth a visit!

Google
High quality and fresh seafood and tapas. Easily some of the most delicious red prawns I've eaten! So sweet and juicy! I ordered a lot of expensive ingredients and solely protein so this was not a cheap meal.

Google
Visited from Toronto, Canada Had a phenomenal food experience here. They have a great selection of tapas from seafood, to meat and beyond. Everything was delicious and fresh. Especially the oysters and octopus! Highly recommend this restaurant!

Felix Winkler

Google
The tapas were underwhelming, especially given the Michelin Guide recommendation. The meatballs and croquettes were just okay. The rabbit ribs were very tasty but had barely any meat. The ceviche was overly sour, and the fish too firm — especially disappointing at €25. Not ideal for a food-focused visit, but fine for casual snacks with drinks. Service was quick.

Google
The place is small and very cramped. High uncomfortable bar chairs, with no back rest. The food is ok, not bad but overpriced. The cod fritter is very tasty but was a bit oily. Some dishes too sweet, some too salty, only extremes that cover up the flavours. Nothing special or worth mentioning. The drinks are microscopic!! Beware! There’s no mention to it on the menu, but the drinks come on the size of a shot glass, we were very disappointed about it. The tiramisu used to be better but this time there was no liquor on the cookie. The service is good.

Yelp
Amazing spot in the Eixample neighborhood, packed with locals and tourists alike. Make a reservation as it gets packed quickly (or alternatively show up "early" at 7pm and get a spot). The restaurant specializes in seafood and has Spanish / fusion dishes which are all absolutely amazing. We came twice during our 2 week trip because we quickly fell in love with the food and ambience. Our favorites were the "Obama" croquettes, razor clams, octopus and tuna with nori. The seafood here is so fresh but can be a bit pricey for the simple dishes (eg., razor clams). Worth it if you love the seafood cooked to perfection, but not if you're looking for something more. Their fancier dishes (eg., octopus or tuna with nori) are an explosion of flavors. I was hesitant to get the tuna as it sounds like a typical fusion dish you'd get in a Japanese restaurant in the states but it's a combination of flavors with a slight kick at the end that are absolutely mindblowing. The only part of my meal that I didn't enjoy was the end, but only because that meant there was no more food! Will definitely be back next time I'm in Barcelona.

Yelp
I forgot where I found out about this restaurant but I was so glad I made my way here! I was a solo diner but the waiter took good care of me. The Obama croquette is filled with cuttlefish stuffing and it was so good! I ordered one but I can easily eat another one, but there were so many other things I wanted to try on the menu. The beef tartare was standard, doesn't really standout but it was good nevertheless. The foie gras came with some nuts and it was a good balance, very delicious as well. And I still wanted to try one more dish but the waiter told me the item I wanted to order was too much for myself, so he recommend me to order another smaller item. Which I didn't really enjoy because I thought it was a meatball but it ended up being a fried fritter as well. And he underestimated my appetite because I definitely could've ate more. I will be back for the Obama and their other items!

Yelp
Paco Meralgo was our first meal upon landing in Barcelona, and I'm so glad it was because it really set the tone for our trip. We had a reservation, thankfully, because the place filled up real quick after opening. And they noted that my partner has a gluten intolerance, providing an allergens menu so we could be sure of which dishes he could and could not have; always super appreciated, especially when traveling! Additionally, all of the staff were so friendly and helpful, happy to make recommendations as far as the most popular/their favorite dishes, and the amount of food we were ordering. As chronic over-orderers, this was extremely helpful for us. We ended up getting oysters, patatas bravas (not safe for gluten intolerance, but I inhaled these babies myself), seasonal vegetables with romesco, grilled razor clams, and grilled octopus. Everything was excellent, but the octopus in particular was absolutely incredible. One of the best-cooked octopuses I've ever consumed, and the thin piece of iberico lardo on top added an amazing flavor. My partner says that the octopus is in conversation for the single best bite we ate on our whole two-week trip across Europe. The space itself is very nice; definitely a bit cramped, but that's not too uncommon throughout Barcelona, we found. It's pretty casual with a very lively ambience to it. Everyone was happily chatting away and seemingly enjoying their experience! Would definitely recommend hitting Paco Meralgo if you're in the area, and a reservation would probably be a good idea.

Yelp
Found this restaurant on Michelin Guide and they have a Michelin Bib Gourmand rating - I filtered by lowest cost in the app btw. I got a reservation for the communal table and we shared the table with another family from out of town. The food was amazing and the staff was courteous. The menu was divided into cold/hot tapas, specialties, and meat - there might be one or two more sections but I forgot to take a picture of the menu. We ordered the beef tenderloin chunks with garlic (5 stars), razor clams (5 stars), courgette blossoms (5 stars), bread with tomato (4 stars), tuna tartar (3 stars), Russian salad (3 stars), octopus with seaweed and ham (3 stars), the bomba (3 stars), frozen truffle (3 stars), and Catalan custard (4 stars). I want to be clear that 3 stars isn't bad, it's decent but not what I was expecting. If you're from California and frequent sushi bars, stay away from all tuna tar tar in general. The octopus was a bit on the salty side and there are Korean influences and California is full of these kinds of dishes. So stay away from fusion food in general when in Spain. I now realize I'm more satisfied with the traditional tapas because we don't get that at home. It does not mean that the fusion dishes were no good here. Everything rated 5 star is freaking delicious. We actually got two orders of the beef tenderloin. Also the Russian salad is more like a potato salad with crab, tuna, and eggs - no veggies.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to Paco Meralgo. We came in on a Thursday night and it wasn't quite packed yet, but does get more full later on at night. So I'd say get an early reservation to beat the crowds. Every worker we encountered was great. Gave us great options to try as we were indecisive. I like the layout of the restaurant because the seating is spread out and in different parts of the restaurant. I also like that the restroom are upstairs. I have to say their food is a bit on the pricey side for tapas BUT for the quality you are getting it's worth it. First, their drink menu is great and they don't skimp on the alcohol. I had a bottle of wine which paired well with our meal. Now the food. Hands down the best patata bravas we've had in Spain so far (and we've had them with each meal). The sauce that they use is what makes amazing. Don't miss out on them. We got the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly! Now the dessert. This had to be one of the best desserts I've had. We had the French toast and I wasn't sure what would come out but let me tell you get this. It was the best thing I've had - it's so hard to describe. So go in and try it lol. The tiramisu was also great. This is a great treat yourself meal!

Yelp
Came as a solo walk in on a Friday night. The place was booming. There's two floors and most seats had groups enjoying the company over some tasty cuisine. They were able to seat me fairly quickly which was nice considering how busy it was. The food: please do yourself a favor and get the tuna tartare. This came as a recommendation and did not disappoint. I was offered tomato bread with it, which was a solid paring. Also got the patatas bravas which came with this delicious hot sauce pairing. Portions are reasonable. If you come with a group, pick up a few items and some wine. You'll be golden. Service and food was very quick. Will be back when I'm in Barcelona again!

Yelp
This tapas bar was recommended by our hotel, and we are so glad we went! Waited for about 30 minutes outside with no reservation, but they offer you drink service while you wait. Victor was our waiter, and he was great. Service is excellent. We started with Potatas bravas, that comes with spicy mayo and hot sauce, which came out at the same time as the big spicy meatball. Which I don't believe actually has meat in it but it was delicious. Tomato bread was great. Scallops were good, but the tuna tataki was the star of the meal. The steak bites are served sizzling hot and cooked to perfection. Restaurant is upbeat, fast paced and worth your time. Tiramisu was amazing! Wish we had more time to go back again and try more of the menu.

Yelp
Paco Meralgo shows up with some frequency in travel publications as an excellent option for tapas in the neighborhood, so my wife, brother in law, and I decided to eat lunch here our first day in Barcelona. The atmosphere feels bright and open with large windows looking out onto the street and clean white tile punctuating both sides of the dining room. The crowd comprised mostly locals and we were the only tourists in the restaurant. Our waiter spoke English fluently and helped us with ordering. He also coursed out the meal at a comfortable pace, which prevented us from over ordering and over eating. The tapas here tasted excellent. Highlights included the black squid ink croquettes, the surprisingly spicy patatas bravas, the fresh red tuna tartar, rustic pan con tomate, and the creamy crab brioche. The only tapa of the 6ish we ordered that fell flat was the doughy and bland cuttlefish meatball. Prices here run slightly more expensive than the typical tapas restaurant, but the quality is high and overall we felt good value. If you are staying in this part of Eixample, Paco Meralgo is a worthy option for a leisurely tapas meal.

Yelp
We had some of the best tapas in Barcelona. Refresh, anchovies, lightly battered and fried with just a little lemon juice were amazing. We also had the tuna belly and tomato salad with marinated garlic and onion vinaigrette. Mind blowing highly recommend this place.

Yelp
If you have to pick one place to eat tapas and you're visiting, this should be the one. They have a wide variety of options, you will definitely find something you like. Their wine list is extensive and delectable sangrias! We ate all possible croquettes, meat all, fresh salmon and Tuna tartar (must try), scallops, carn brioche and everything was delicious.

K W.

Yelp
Wide selection of interesting tapas, lively atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Don't miss the stuffed eggplant blossoms, the croquettes and the octopus
google avatar

Yelp
The 30 minute wait was well worth it. From the waiter to the food , all excellent. Tapas were out of this world. The pan con tomate, was "the real thing." Beer selection and each tapa was delicious. The croquettes and the albóndiga (meatball) outstanding. Service was top notch even though it was a busy Monday lunch crowd. Prices were mid range and ambiance was more than comfortable. If you're in Barcelona, stop by. You won't be disappointed. Hope to return!

Yelp
An amazing place in Example that I keep on going back to now that l'm living here part time. It has a lively ambiance, joie de vivre, elevated and classic dishes. Enjoy(ed): Jamon Iberico de bellota Vaca vieja croquetas negras obama patatas bravas camarones al ajillo tiradito/sashimi whatever is on the specials chalkboard Cava, Txakolina, Red Make a reservation and bring your friends or come solo and make new ones.

Yelp
My brother who has been to Barcelona many times recommended this place. Fantastic! The Cuttlefish Obama croquettes are to die for. I also had the cod fritters, tuna carpaccio and veal carpaccio and they were all fantastic! Went there twice while in Barcelona! I highly recommend this place. It gets busy so if you have a party of more than one make reservations.
google avatar

Emi B.

Yelp
It's a pricier corner restaurant. Obama was very very good indeed and set them different from other croquette. Bomba was not bad but La Cova Fumada was the best. Crab something - probably can pass nothin social and overpowering with sauces Catalan Custard - delicious! French Toast - I don't like cinnamon. Overall it was okay, a bit too targeting for tourists for me it seems. Staffs have great energy.
google avatar

Kiora B.

Yelp
We enjoyed sitting at the bar. The tuna tataki was great...so savory and amazing. Everything else was good, very fresh. Nice wine! I'd say go for the seafood here - it was all on ice at the bar, and lovely to look at (and taste).
google avatar

Sarah A.

Yelp
Food was incredible and exceptional. We went there as a party of 3 and tried many tapas. One better than the next. The tuna tartar is great. Don't miss the beef chunks with garlic . Mushrooms were good too. Chocolate truffle desserts were amazing too. Tiramisu was good, but in all fairness I'm not a huge tiramisu fan in general. Bottle of wine was good. Overall, highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Everything we ate here was pretty much amazing. Our server kept the good stuff coming. I usually prefer my beef cooked well done, and this is the first time where it didn't even seem to matter. Delicious tapas and just a fun place for dinner.

Yelp
10/10 - wayyy above and beyond service (even when we messed up our order). And our fave meal in Barcelona. Must visit :)
google avatar

Gina P.

Yelp
Hands down, this place is my favorite restaurant in Barcelona. I went here for a nice dinner during my first trip to Barcelona about 6 months ago and had to come back again during my second trip that I took about 2 1/2 weeks ago. The venue itself is very cozy and interactive and the waiters are always pleasant. The food here is beyond amazing. Between the first and second experiences, here are all the dishes we ordered (since we ordered some of same ones the second time): both types of croquettes, salmon tartar, steak tartar, foie gras and octopus in sauce. The fois was SO good that we had to get two orders of it both time, but the octopus dish is definitely my favorite. The wine is very reasonably priced as well. I would recommend this place to anyone in Barcelona because they really give you a five star experience with the food at such a great price. A must-go!!
google avatar

Gabby R.

Yelp
Another one of my favorite spots for tapas in Barcelona, the only reason I gave Paco Meralgo a 4 instead of a 5 is that their winter menu / experience is really lacking compared to their summer menu. I came here a few years ago in March with high expectations because I had heard great things, but thought it was a bit overrated. I came back the next year in June and was completely blown away. My friend also told the host that it was my birthday so they put on a big celebration and sang to me - so fun! Great experience and I can't wait to come back when I am able to visit Barcelona next.
google avatar

Alexandra L.

Yelp
This was a lovely dinner experience - we definitely made a reservation in advance. We got several tapas which were all very good, but the waitress was a little short with us and they were out of 3-4 items that we tried to order which was really frustrating. I loved the "Obama" cuttlefish croquettes and the real standout was the veal sandwich which was incredible. I would recommend this place for the food but the vibe is definitely a little stuffier and the prices are higher than some of the other nicer tapas restaurants we had tried.
google avatar

Melanie L.

Yelp
The food was wonderful. However, the service was the worst we've had in Europe over several weeks. Our server's name was Jaume, pronounced "Yoma". He didn't like us from the start because we were tourists, frequently ignoring us, and getting sharp with us when we had any questions. The locals who sat next to us at the bar were much more helpful and nice, offering suggestions on the menu etc. Our server forgot to put in a tapa order, and when we reminded him very patiently, he didn't apologize, and seemed upset. (This was an order he recommended to us initially!) We tried to be very patient and accommodating through the whole experience, as we realize this is a busy time of day. By at the end of the order we realized he overcharged us for a glass of sangria. 18.50euro!!! When we asked him about it multiple times, he said it was correct. He then continued to avoid eye contact. We had to ask the manager, who said it was a mistake, and changed it to 5euro. No apology from the server!! I attached a picture of him. Please AVOID him at all costs! This is our last day in Barcelona and it really left a bad taste in our mouths. :(
google avatar

Josh S.

Yelp
Best meal of trip so far. Great tapas and great location that isn't filled w tourists drinking sangria. Pan con tomate was my favorite in Barcelona. Fried artichokes were good. Iberico ham and cheese sandwich was awesome. Beef tartar was even better. Sardine sandwich was not good. Cod fritters were ok and the "Obama" fritter (seems racist) was ok. Garlic sizzling steak was so good. (Even better to dip pan con tomate in) Oxtail was the best. Must order. Dessert was crema Catalana which was very good and a fried French toast which was ok. Great spot. You need a reservation.

Yelp
Making the midday drive from Valencia to Barcelona, a 3.5 hour trek up the coast that costs about €45 without accounting for gas, it was just past 21h00 that a party of two set out looking for dinner, almost every reputable Tapas Bar in town unfortunately packed with several "reserved" tables sitting empty, the eventual decision to wait it out at Alta Taberna Paco Meralgo based on a quoted wait of "a few minutes" that actually stretched on for just under an hour. Without doubt a well established favorite of locals as well as tourists, the double-sided bar and ever-evolving menu scrawled in the window seeing lines from 20h00 opening until a post-midnight close every day of the year save for Christmas since 2002, Alta Taberna is part of the Grup Olivé Restaurant Group, their holdings entailing five spaces with the one on Carrer de Muntaner easily the most popular. Proposed as a Spanish menu with Mediterranean and Catalan influences, the kitchen-centered room constantly in motion with guests in-wait given the choice of being constantly bumped into indoors or standing in streets full of cigarette smoke, those who either have the foresight to make reservations or who are willing to wait are eventually granted seating at either the bar or one of several high-tops, the menu available in both English and Spanish a sprawling list of Meats, Cheeses, Sandwiches, Vegetables and Desserts. Minimal in its decoration, chalkboard specials, painted brick walls and mirrors the only thing to distract diners from a bounty of ingredients on display amidst a room whose decibel level occasionally reaches alarming values, it was just past 22h10 that seats were allocated at the bar in front of a young bilingual Female, the decision to order in courses encouraged and eventually entailing fourteen plates served over the course of nearly two hours. Truly a sight to behold, the multitude of stations all working at a rapid pace to churn out plates for what must easily be seventy guests at peak times, it was not long after ordering that the first round of food arrived, a plate of Spain's famous Acorn-fed Iberico Ham and Bread brushed in Tomatoes simple and pristine while three types of Croquettas were all creamy and delicious, though one does wonder about the naming of a Squid Ink-packed version after America's 44th President... Heavily focused on fried bites, the Tempura Vegetables with Teriyaki an out of place dish that was both unimpressive and overpriced at €8.10, those choosing to stick to Spanish classics will be well-rewarded by the crispy Potatoes in spicy Mayonnaise while the Omelette of tiny shrimp is served as a delicate net containing only enough Egg and Flour to hold it all together. Offering items on Bread as "Montaditos," the Steak Tartare a bit too finely chopped and thus mushy amidst Yolk and Herbs, another great three-bites was found in the seared slice of Duck Liver served atop Nut Bread with poached Apple, the flavors sweet and unctuous and a great lead-in to the tender Octopus served in the cooking liquid of Paprika and Onions. Rounding out savories with Goat Cutlets in Onions and Carrots, the plate appearing to be little more than Bone actually hiding several ounces of lean and nutty Flesh, it was with the a la minute Mille-Feuille sold out that dessert instead included a tender Sponge Cake completely soaked in Chocolate and Booze alongside hot Crema Catalana and an unattractive but outstanding slice of Torrejas that was golden on the surface and sweet with the texture of Condensed Milk within.

Yelp
Paid about ~15 euros per tapas but the seafood was fresh and the food came out pretty quick. We ate dinner at 8ish and by 9-10pm this place was packed (there was a line). We tried the 1) Pepper beef fillets tapas (amazing!), 2) Razor clams (a bit on the rare side), 3) Shrimp omelette (the shrimps were very sweet!), 4) Tomato baguette (tomato juice, olive oil and tomato seeds on a toasted baguette. The juice ran the risk of turning the bread soggy but thankfully it didn't. Good bread can be found all over Europe so nothing special really.)

Yelp
Underwhelming and quality has dropped since I last ate here 2 years ago. Paco Meralgo is a very witty play on words - if you split the two words up, it's Pa Comer Algo meaning to eat something in Spanish. The restaurant is beautiful, really homey yet modern interior with a lot of light. Unfortunately, the food just isn't as good as before. Must get: Navajas, cuttlefish croquets, cod fritters Don't get: pan con tomate (too soggy, not as good as many other restaurants in Barcelona...and pricy too), gambas al ajillo (the shrimps were tiny and you only get 5 for 20 euros) When to go: Nice place to go for lunch since the sunlight really lights the place up. Make sure to make a reservation though, it gets really packed especially on weekends. Other tips: If you want to get pan con tomate, ask for a smaller portion first. For 4 people ask for a 2 persons portion. When I went the first time, their prawns from palamos were really good (if in season) and their grilled scallops. I didn't try them this time around though.

Yelp
Fun , fun and great spot to discover Barcelona locals mixed with visitors. Small cozy Taberna with great food selection and Cava Wines etc. If you get Lucky . Perfect combination for Tapas, drinks and friendship, extra lucky if you get Victor as your Server!!!

Yelp
Stopped by and decided to wait for a table. Before we get to the food....it seems that everyone knows everyone who walked through the door...except us...treated a little differently because we were not recognized by the staff. Great if you are a frequent guest, but... They serve great sparkling and the wine was good. We tried the tuna teriyaki and baby scallops. The tuna was great Four baby scallops served in there shells. Great taste, but a little light on the volume. Two drinks, two tapas...40 euros

Yelp
The best tapas I had -- by far -- over my week in town. I had gone to very good places recommended by others I trusted. Then, well into the week, I find out a foodie friend in Manilla has extended family in the area. This is the recommendation. Great one. Yes, there are a lot of tourists, but not all. That doesn't automatically make it bad either. I made sure I had a reservation. I was placed at the far end of the bar. It was between a couple from Florida and a French Canadian ex-pat. It didn't take long before we were talking. The ex-pat led me through some of the menu. She had eaten here many times. At one point, not only did we share thoughts on the favorite dishes, but we did some sharing too. The tomato bread was the best I had. The garlic shrimp was excellent. The breaded and fried anchovies perfect. The razor clams very nice. Some of the best steak tartar I've had. Even though the seafood was generally the way to go, the steak with seared foie gras was a highlight. They matched wines with the food as well. All in all, a meal to remember.

John R.

Yelp
Pretty disappointing tapas. Sat at the bar and the service was good, but the food was not so great. Fresh tuna with apple vinaigrette and teriyaki: very fishy. Didn't eat it Fresh salmon tartar with soya sauce: pretty good, but tasted straight out of a Japanese restaurant. Grilled red prawn from Palamós: tasted fishy and was undercooked. "Bomba Paco Meralgo" Big Spicy Meatball: there was no meat. It was a fried potato filled ball. "Burratina" with tomato and pesto: very good and tasted really fresh. This was very good. "Italóibérica" bellota ham and cheese sandwhich: pretty good. It was pretty greasy, but the mozzerella and ham went well together on the flat bread. Pan y tomate: oily and no taste. Rabbits cutlets with garlic and parsley: came out sizzling in oil. Just tasted like garlic and was heavily fried. Left the meal with a garlic aftertaste and a heavy stomach.

Yelp
Very pleasant staff, very friendly. Accomodated us even though no reservation. We had mixture of tapas, all very pleasant. Not on the tourist route, mainly locals. Very good atmosphere. Lots of choice mainly seafood bias but all very good. Good range of drinks. Generally not expensive. Highly recommended. Appreciate your feedback.

Yelp
For me one of the best tapas bar I have ever tasted in BCN The atmosphere, the advises, the care for the customer, the fresh products everything you are looking for will be available here. It is a small place but we have had almost immediately our table for two in front of the bar. We have had a very good experience and receive some good advises about the choices.

Yelp
The energy of this place is extraordinary. Their tapas are a great way to learn and taste the Spanish cousin. One of the must in Barcelona

Yelp
Amazing seafood are aplenty in Barcelona. We were on a mission to find the best and ATPM came highly recommended by a local. We came early for dinner without reservations and were seated at the bar. Spacious restaurant with a modern flair. Friendly staff. We tried the following tapas: -Bacalao- codfish drenched in olive oil, topped with tomatoes, and olives. Fresh seafood that just melts in your mouth. -Fried oyster- sweet, delicate, creamy -Anchovies- drenched in olive oil with some lemon zest, simply delicious and not too salty. They were perfect with the house (tomato) bread. -Langostinos hervidos- grilled sweet, succulent prawns -The dessert was an almond sponge cake soaked in a creamy rum broth Well worth the price given the premium quality of the seafood. ATPM is also a supporter of the Slow Food movement in the EU. 4.5 stars.

Yelp
I think reservations are recommended here. I say, "I think" because it was pretty packed when we arrived at 2:00pm on a Monday and we were barely seated. This was our first meal of the day and we were starving so we went a little crazy with ordering. We ordered the following: pan con tomate (1.85 euros per unit) like everyone here mentioned, their pan con tomate is some of the best found in the city. The bread pieces are huge and it's drowning in tomate, just the way I like it. It's not too oily and it isn't as soggy as it's found at most places. encenalls carxofes (4.90 euros) fried artichokes. these are found all over Spain and whenever you see it on the menu, order it! patates braves (3.90 euros) some of the best patates braves we've had. The potatoes were cooked all the way through, crispy, and we all loved that it was a bit spicy. croquetes pollo (1.40 euros per unit) The croquetes are not to be missed. My favorite! Perfectly crisp and fried and the insides are delicious. croquetes de sip (1.50 euros per unit) if I remember correctly, I think this was squid. It's black inside and rolled up into a ball. It's creamy and really good. montadito salmon (3.10 euros per unit) montadito are like crostinis, crusty bread topped with something. In this case, it was smoked salmon and because the salmon was of high quality, this was delectable. montadito brie (2.95 euros per unit) It's brie. You can't go wrong with a thick piece of melted brie. xipirons (11.90 euros) Fried baby squid. I really enjoyed this but my friends didn't. I don't think many people enjoy eating whole baby squids. trufes gelades (1.05 euros per unit) We ordered this as a desert. It's really small, not too sweet, and to be honest, probably wouldn't order it again. Overall, this is a must visit tapas restaurant. They have most of all the traditional Spanish tapas here and they do an excellent job. The restaurant is clean, customer service is good, and bottles of wine are cheap. What's to hate?

Yelp
Got a recommendation to go here from a local resident and it was a great choice! First the hours of the restaurant were excellent. Since we were often having happy hour food and drinks in our hotel we often were not ready to eat until the late evening and this place was open and serving food until 12-12:30am on the Sunday night that we went. The restaurant itself was clean which is always important in a foreign, unfamiliar country. Our waiter was oh so nice and helpful! He made so many helpful recommendations on what to order and basically picked out our tapas for us which were all excellent choices. My absolute favorite were the anchovies in oil which are apparently salted for 6 months. It was my first time having anchovies, and I absolutely didn't expect it to be so delightful! I had one piece by itself and another on the tomato bread, and I still can imagine (and wish to re-experience!) the wonderful flavor in my mouth!!! Other favorites included the cuttlefish Obama croquettes, Russian salad, tomato bread, fresh tuna with apple vinaigrette and teriyaki, and the foie gras with a tasty apple sauce that complemented it so well. It was all a heavenly food experience and such a great price for $40 for two people! Loved it and would love to go back!

Yelp
This was our favorite dining spot in Barcelona. Found it on a list of local recommendations from a friend studying abroad. We ordered most of the waitress' recommendations as to their most popular dishes. The "Obama Croquettes" were DELICIOUS, we got a second helping after trying them. Other: The asparagus was good (found myself severely lacking in vegetable consumption during our Italian stops of the vacation, so was trying wherever possible to eat some greens). Shrimp with Soya. Tomato Bread. We tried to order the Veal with Foie Gras but it was out for the night. We got another veal dish to substitute, as well as a dessert. I don't remember what they were but we enjoyed everything. Would have come here a second night and scrapped the place we hastily stopped by (which was from Yelp, but more of a pub than a dinner place) on night 1 of our stay. This is listed as $$$ Euro per person (my keyboard does not make the Euro symbol, but you catch my drift), but I think it could also be on the higher end of $$ Euro per person. I believe our bill came to about 40 Euros for 2 people, though we did not order alcohol with our meal. FAVORITE SPOT.

Yelp
YUM!!! Made a visit here after getting a recommendation from a restaurant owner in Nice - and wow, are we glad we went! Didn't make reservations, so had to wait maybe 15-20 minutes, but with drinks in hand, that's not too bad! As a tapas (and lover of everything 'mini' food) I was so excited to try lots of things and literally everything we had was wonderful! Our favorites were the local mushrooms, the steak tartare, the --- oh, who am I kidding - we loved everything! The Brie, the sausage, the croquets, the spicy meatball, the mussels - literally everything we just went on and on about! Wine prices were actually really good and the bottle we had was wonderful! Didn't feel touristy at all, which we loved! Possibly my favorite meal on this trip to Europe - if you're in Barcelona - GO!

Yelp
Excellent place to eat after visiting La Pedrera/Casa Battlo area. The servers are a bit cocky but don't take it too personally, it is just comes with the "flavor" of any trendy restaurant. The food quality is very good. I really enjoyed their patatas bravas, pan con tomato and anything done with salmon. We ordered about 4 different salmon tapas and they all were excellent. The chipirones fritos are also good. Paco Meralgo has a great wine selection and the suggestions from the server were appropriate for our meal. Keep calm and eat away.

Yelp
This was absolutely the best restaurant I visited while vacationing in Barcelona! We loved it so much we went again on our last night there. You must, must try the Chunks of garlic-fried fillet. This was the last tapas we ordered on our first night and I am so happy we did. The meat was so tender and juicy and it melts in your mouth. We loved it so much we ordered two of them on our last night there. Another favorite was the Patatas bravas. I tried Patatas bravas at every other tapas place we went to in Barcelona and Paco's was the best. Love the spicy sauce that it was marinated in. The other dishes we tried were also excellent including the Pan Con Tomate, Cod Fritters, Croquettes, and Fried Baby Squids. The Cava was also good. Not only did they have the best food, but the best prices. We paid reasonably lower prices here than other tapas places we visited and it was ten times better. If you are going to Barcelona, Paco Meralgo is a must! Make sure to make reservations. We didn't both times, but we luckily got a table.

Yelp
The BEST food in all of Barcelona. This is as good as it gets. Great service and even better food. Definitely check this place out if you are in Barcelona.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Barcelona. This is where local Chefs and other hospitality pros go to eat. The food, the service and the ambiance are all amazing. I have eaten everywhere from Tickets to Tapas 24 and this place is hands down my favorite.

Yelp
This place is one of few restaurants opens Sunday afternoon. Packed with locals: A very GOOD sign to start with :) We seated AGAINST the counter that we could see no fresh, beautiful seafood. Menu, of course, was either in Spanish or Catalan... The plates we ordered was disappointing :( "Help us out!" but our waiter said, "Everything is good here!" (Sure--Sigh...) Again, be sure to bring a local or seat at the counter! I am sure this restaurant is good...

Yelp
We stumbled in here, after my husband took me on a forced march of Barcelona, and I was ready to eat at a premade food place in which you microwaved your own food in plastic boxes. Desperate I was! Then my husband made fun of me and we found this place. I loved everything we ate- and I'll add pictures when I'm back home. For me, the best best best thing, was the foie on "nut toast"- wow- completely and totally delicious. I "accidentally" ate the first one before I could photograph it, so I had to order it again. It was perfectly cooked on a delicious toast (with hazelnuts) and a pear compote. Just amazing flavors. Wonderful. 6 euros per small arrangement. Another standout was the wild asparagus with a poached egg (10 euros). Wow. So flavorful and delicious. We also had the spicy meatball ( it WAS spicy- too spicy for me, really- but delicious (3 euro?). I just am a baby. My husband loved being able to eat the whole thing.) And we also tried croquettes (2 euro? each)- because we're addicted to those- I had the ham and my husband had the fish. My husband had wine (and liked it) and I have Vichy Catalan- the whole bill came to 35 euros. Service was helpful and friendly- even though we do not speak Spanish. They were very nice to us. We must have looked a mess- since we'd walked up from the waterfront (forced march, remember). I hope I have time to go back. There are many many MANY other things I would like to try.

Yelp
Amazing! Highly recommend the spicy meatball, burrata, and croquettes. Misses were the prawns in garlic and the rabbit ( too bony) but overall amazing spot! Highly recommended

Yelp
This place is packed with locals - 0 tourists. My favorite was probably the veal carpaccio with the foie gras shavings and marinated anchovies, although the Croquetas and Bomba Meatballs are also really good. Beware of the Duck cutlets though - they're more ribs than cutlets. Nice lager on tap although a lot of people ordered wine. I was craving egg and ordered their take on scrambled eggs and sausage that they actually scramble at the table!

Yelp
We had a truly amazing dinner at Paco Meralgo on our first night in Barcelona. Without reservations we arrived precisely at 8:00 pm hoping to grab two seats at the bar. Lucky for us they had two seats open and we began a fantastic meal with dishes that relentlessly pleased and inspired. We started with a bottle of Luis Canas Rioja, which was one of the recommended house wines. For 26€ I thought it was an incredible value. Our first course was the tomato bread and Iberico ham, which were both superb. The tomato bread was actually better than the bread we had had at Tickets the next evening. Our next course was the stuffed meatball, which topped with a wonderfully creamy sauce. This was one of our favorite dishes of the evening and if we weren't so full at the end we would have definitely ordered another serving. The fried asparagus was very good. Lightly battered and fried crispy, they were like eating chips. The anchovy bruschetta was a bit of a challenge for my wife to like with very bold flavors, but I found it a unique dish that was a welcome departure from the typical foods we consume in America. The shrimp was by far the best dish we ate all night. When you walk in you can see the colorful shrimp sitting in a huge bowl on the counter. They actually grab these shrimp throughout the night and sauteed ours in garlic. A simple dish, but sensationally fresh and tasty shrimp. Just a wonderful dish. The porcini mushrooms were my wife's favorite. Sauteed in a rich sauce, the mushrooms were cooked beautifully and displayed a firm and slightly chewy texture. We couldn't stop eating these mushrooms! We ended our evening with the Catalonian french toast, which I highly recommend. Just the right amount of cinnamon and a light, fluffy and slightly crunchy texture. A perfect way to end the meal. Overall we had an amazing dinner at Paco Meralgo and would have loved to return for another visit had we had a few more days in Barcelona.

Yelp
A truly fantastic food experience! You can't go wrong with the patatas bravas or the pan con tomate! Some of the best food I have had in a great while! We liked it so much we went back for another memorable dinner!
