Paco Tapas

"Start with either a fine Spanish wine or a chilled sherry straight from the cask while sitting on the terrace of this buzzy tapas bar. Dishes are skilfully prepared, packed with flavour and include all the favourites, from jamón croquetas to tortillas where the rich, golden egg just oozes out. Those unfamiliar with the Spanish way need not fret, as the knowledgeable team will guide you through the menu from start to finish." - Michelin Inspector

Awesome dining experience with friendly & attentive staff who looked after us. The food was wonderfully presented, bursting with flavour and plates were expertly paired to complement each other. The Seared Tuna was the star of the evening and was 'melt in the mouth' brilliance. Overall an excellent evening and will definitely be coming back!

Really amazing experience, a few years before we had gone to Casamia and this was a beautiful reminder of the exceptional food, atmosphere and service that is offered at both restaurants. After a booking system failure they promptly made contact and rebooked my valentines day reservation. Really happy about that.

Amazing Spanish tapas with fresh food and some interesting twists on classics. Nice wine menu and staff are knowledgable on the wine. The highlight was certainly the tuna and the bread was certainly a pleasant surprise.

Enjoyed the experience at Paco's Tapas, end September 2024 - we had the set menu on a Friday night - a very busy night, late reservation and we were sat at the bar, looking into the actual cooking area... Fascinating! Not only the food was amazing, but the kitchen is a brilliant show of synchronicity and perfection... The chefs run a tight show, the souchefs are excellent and the quality shows in every move and every form...mesmezing! BRAVO!! 👌🏻 We definitely will be back next time we're down in Bristol visiting our family. 💯

Very tasty food and especially the meat! Definitely worth trying. However, the seats were not comfortable. All the tables were high with stool and no back support. The plates and portions were small and expensive even for tapas!

Google
We visited with such high expectations. These were definitely met by the service and atmosphere, however the food was a little disappointing. Portions were tiny for the amount they charged. No matter how amazing the flavour (although there was nothing mind-blowing) or the quality, when you leave a restaurant thinking you need to stop at McDonald's to feel satisfied, something's gone amiss 😅 especially when you've spent £75 on the chefs menu!

Google
Music was chill and good volume, service was excellent and the food is the best tapas I've eaten and I've been to Spain so think about that. Big ups to the Spanish tortilla and cabbage dish. Definitely come.

We expected to pay more with it being a Michelin Star restaurant but the prices were really high when compared to the portion size of some of the dishes which was disappointing. Regardless the food was delicious all round but it felt like there was never enough for the price. Our waiter was exceptional, amazing knowledge of the dishes, the wine on offer and his personality really added to the overall experience. His upselling skills really paid off 😉 Overall a special once off experience but not sure we will be back.

Yelp
We booked a table for a Saturday night at 830pm, arrived at about 815pm...the restaurant was packed but after about 10-ish minutes a table was cleaned and set and we were seated so cannot complain at all since we did arrive early. The lady who seated us as if we wanted water, we ordered a bottle of still for the table. While looking over the menu about 5mins after being seated a waitress came by asked if she could take our drink order, the other lady had clearly forgotten our bottle of still. This waitress apologized and quickly brought our water and cocktails. My margarita was fantastic. Once ordering our food I had a chance to look around, it was fairly busy and you could hear chatter from the tables around us but it was quiet enough you could easily speak to those at your table, I loved the industrial look they had going on lots of wood grain and metal with low warm lights and a single tea light candle on each table, gave the place a relaxed and welcoming vibe. To start we ordered their sourdough with olive oil (delicious but I wish the olive oil was on the side so you could dip it yourself instead of covering the bread in it, you will end up with olive oil on your hands with this dish), iberico and manchego drizzled with honey (the cheese with honey was amazing...creamy nutty slightly sweet) next out was the seared tuna (by far my favorite of the night, you could taste the quality of the tuna it was simple highlighting the natural flavor, so good!) then came the cauliflower manchego (the cauliflower was so good basted in a brown butter!) patata bravas (this was my least favorite dish of the night, the potatoes themselves were good nicely seasoned and crispy but they served them in a sauce that made all the bottom potatoes in the dish soggy and the taste of the sauce was overpowering) our last savory item of the night was the chateaubriand (fantastic, I perfectly cooked, tender and tasty)...to finish off the evening we had flan (sweet custardy traditional) and chocolate mousse (rich creamy, well balanced, served with high quality evoo, sea salt, and thin crispy sourdough). Overall it was a fantastic night out, slightly slow service, but the food more than made up for it. Will absolutely be back again!

Yelp
Did live in the city for over 10 years though a very long time ago. Bristol is now a vibrant city with many fantastic restaurants. Paco Tapas, in my opinion, ranks as one of the best outside Spain, that I have ever tasted. Service is impeccable. Location is grand. Menu is sumptuous with a wine list (nothing but Spanish ones-of course) to die for. Will return to eat in a heartbeat.

Yelp
A Michelin started tapas spot near the water! I'll start out by saying I'm not sure tapas are the genre of food I enjoy the most. The quality of the dishes was excellent- the tuna and cheese especially were fresh and tasty! The overall flavorings of some of the dishes weren't out of this world for me. The cheese was by far our favorite dish. The honey was so flavorful and delicious! The tuna was quite expensive (good quality) but lacking some flavor. The lomo iberico was like butter- very delicious! The rest of the dishes were okay for me. I would recommend if you enjoy Spanish tapas. They had great quality ingredients, wonderful service and not too bad of pricing!

Yelp
Tucked away on a quiet corner of Redcliffe, Paco Tapas is a Spanish Michelin star restaurant bringing modern tapas to Bristol. My friend and I, both fans of tapas, stayed in Bristol for a weekend and decided we had to come here for dinner. We made a reservation for 9:30PM and the restaurant was still packed at the time. The food served here was outstanding. From the presentation to flavors, to wine pairing, everything was thoroughly and carefully thought out, giving the restaurant an energetic and bold character. The menu changes from time to time and specials were sold out by the time we got there. My friend and I started with some appetizers including the jamon iberico, jamon croquettes and the Tortilla Espanola. We also got a glass of white and red wine each after getting some pairing recommendations from the really helpful waiter. Everything was delicious. If you're a fan of melt-in-your-mouth meats, the jamon iberico is for you. The Tortilla Espanola blew me away. It's basically a fancy omelette with potatoes but it's so fluffy on the inside and tastes so sophisticated. I wish I could have this for breakfast everyday. For mains, we shared the Gambas Al Ajillo, Hake, Presa Iberica and some patata bravas. Because it was late and the restaurant doesn't open on Sundays and Mondays, they gave us an extra portion of patata bravas for free! The patatas bravas go really well with the flavors of the presa Iberica (pork shoulder), which was so juicy and flavorful and cooked perfectly. The Gambas tastes like it came straight from the ocean and we both loved the charred flavors and the sauce that came with it. The Hake was my favorite. It was succulent and cooked perfectly with a crispy skin. The home made aioli really complimented the fluffy texture and subtle flavors. Overall, an outstanding place for casual yet Michelin quality tapas at a really decent price. A must when visiting Bristol!

Yelp
Exceptional food and sherry's. It has become my favourite place. A bit pricy but it is definitely worth it!
