This is one of the few places I know in which the The owner actively engages to ensure the fulfillment of customer needs and provides exceptional customer service. I consistently enjoy visiting this establishment because, despite numerous visits, we have yet to encounter a negative experience. The cuisine is consistently exceptional, and the opportunity to share dishes with others allows us to savor a diverse range of flavors during a single meal. The waitstaff is highly skilled and attentive, contributing to the overall positive dining experience. I strongly recommend this establishment, and the prices are reasonable. Oh and not to mention, they have a piano player, which just brings everything together and makes the ambiance more pleasant and enjoyable.

DO NOT EAT HERE. Food is horrible. What you pay, is NOT what you are gonna get. This place looks nice…but the food is absolutely disgusting. Save yourself the money & the headache. Sesame chicken is the worse I’ve ever tasted, lots of it was all batter with no chicken …actually threw it all away. The wonton soup is more like cabbage soup, egg rolls are more like chille rellenos & are not good at all. We also asked for sweet & sour sauce but they just stuck ketchup in our bags instead. Someone on Yelp said this place is absolutely trash….& I wish I would have had my poor husband check the reviews before he went to get us take out. $89 wasted. We will NEVER go back there again.

Google
I was very impressed as soon as we walked in. The tables are covered with white tablecloths, the white cloth napkins are perfectly shaped on top of the plates, and the silverware is placed on both sides of the plates. Very elegant. The waiter was very patient. We couldn't decide on what to order. I chose the cashew chicken with steamed white rice. It was plenty of food. The prices were reasonable considering the amount of food. Unfortunately, it was bland. The pieces of chicken were dry and uneven. I had small and large pieces. Size really doesn't matter, but the flavor wasn't there.

Google
Almond chicken was a bit too salty. The wings were crispy, just right. I had the egg drop soup and that was good. Friendly service. Bilingual staff.

Date night with my beautiful wife. We arrived and immediately thought what a beautiful atmosphere. I loved the warriors in the front along with the other memorabilia. There was a live gentleman playing the piano which just added to the ambiance. Great start but it started to go downhill from there. We waited out front for about five minutes until the host greeted us. He took us to a nice booth and we really appreciate the nice linen napkins and tablecloths. The waitress came by and took our drink orders, Jasmine Tea with honey and a beer. The drinks came, without the honey, which we reminder our waitress about. She came back several minutes later, without the honey, and took our order. She answered some questions about the menu and we ordered the Empress Dinner. The dinner came with one appetizer, soup, three main dishes and desert. I reminded her about the honey and she promised to bring some. After several minutes I asked a different waiter for the honey. Finally our honey arrived so my wife could enjoy her hot tea. Our soup and egg roll arrived. The egg drop soup was excellent, with tiney chunks of meat in it. The egg roll was mushy in the middle and just average. Our wings, fried rice, broccoli and beef, sweet and sour chicken and shrimp arrived. Starting with the wings, that was the best dish of the night. We loved the crispy outside and juicy inside, this is a must order! Secondly, the broccoli beef in brown sauce was very tasty, the sauce was delicious. We also enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken the crust on the chicken was nice and light and the sauce was thick and not too sweet. The shrimp dish was loaded with good sized shrimp in a nice sauce, but had way too many peppers. The ice cream for desert was pretty good. Overall the food was good, not great. The server was slow, inattentive and lacked at enthusiasm to help us. She had to be asked several times for honey, she didn't pre-bus the dirty dishes, she never came by to refill our waters without being asked. The restaurant was not busy and she only had 3 tables she was working. I loved the wings, but I'm not sure we would every go back.

Google
Egg rolls were great. Wonton soup great. Orange chicken chewy, dry and flavorless. Sesame tofu good not great. Noodles not great. Overall won't return. Lunch for three with two entrees - $60. If the food would have matched the atmosphere it would have been worth the money. Waiter disappeared and we had to ask the hostess to find him. She couldn't....

First time me and my girlfriend went to this restaurant. At first, we didn't know what to order nor how they served the food. Alicia took the time to explain to us how the process is. Also she, very patient, suggested us what to eat. I don't like chicken wings, but at this place, they are beyond delicious. The price is excellent. I loved this restaurant

Google
Had not been here in years and leery due to the bad reviews. Food, service, atmosphere were all exceptional. Sesame chicken, Almond duck, egg rolls and crab wonton. Live piano music Friday and Saturday.

Yelp
It's been our favorite restaurant for many years, the flavor and service are always very good. Every dish always has an exceptional taste and is served at the right temperature Higly recommended !!

Yelp
All the hype I hear - turned out to be just static noise. Our lunch was awful! Sent back the fried wontons (they were cold and tasted like old frying oil. The new ones were over fried and tips were burnt. Orange chicken was swimming in orange juice - not a sauce - just plain orange juice, which made the fried chicken pieces so soggy and it was cold!!! NOT RECOMMENDING OR GOING BACK! And very pricey $$$ for crappy food and service. Wishing you Good luck on your dinning experience

Yelp
The food was amazing, and the service was very good. The wait was long due to the Thanksgiving holiday, but well worth it! Recommended! 5/5

Yelp
Paco Wong's Chinese restaurant is on Mesa Street. I had never heard of the restaurant, and I decided to eat there because I was hungry, I was passing by, and the restaurant had beautiful architecture. Inside, the restaurant is immaculate and beautifully decorated. I experienced terrific customer service, but then the food was served. We ordered the chicken curry and the Lobster in oyster sauce. I enjoyed the oyster sauce, but the lobster came out of its shell and was mixed with the vegetables. The lobster was chewy. The lobster plate was $45. The chicken curry was not good. I enjoyed the fried rice, but the white rice was cold. For dessert, we ordered crème brûlée, and it was good. Sadly, the restaurant is so beautiful, and the staff goes out and beyond to give you an outstanding experience, but the food is not good. The food rating is a one out of five but I rated the restaurant two out of five because of the good service. I will not come back.

Yelp
I reserved for my daughter's graduation dinner party. There was a bit of a hickup, with the timeline and a table of karens were still at the room we had reserved. Anywho, Mr. Wong and the outstanding crew he has took care of it. As always, food was greeeeeat!!! Service was the best and the ambiance really pleaseant. Thank you guys for the service and avsilability you always bring for outlr pleasure. Dont hesitate to visit an experience this restaurant. I have for 30 years and counting. Dismiss the haters leaving bad reviews on yelp. Mr. Wong and his crew always go out of the way to make you feel like family at his establishment.

Yelp
DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! We were charged $89.85 for the most HORRIBLE food. Ordered Sesame chicken, beef & broccoli, fried rice, wonton soups, & egg rolls. Nothing tasted like Chinese food. The egg rolls are more like chile rellenos, the rice was supposed to have chicken & pork but there was no chicken, and very little pork. The batter for the sesame chicken was soooo gross ....we just couldn't believe it & ended up just throwing it in the trash. We also asked for sweet & sour sauce but were given ketchup! Had not been to this restaurant in years....now we will NEVER EVER go back. Save your money! This place is sooooo NOT worth it!!!

Kara M.

Yelp
Slow! Staff greeting folks coming in was unfriendly, followed by extremely disappointing food! Ext expensive with quality of Dollar Tree food! Very bland, very expensive!Waitress was nice though.

Vivian P.

Yelp
We ordered the pineapple chicken. The chicken tasted like frozen chicken nuggets, the sauce lacked flavor. Service was okay ambiance was excellent

April N.

Yelp
This is objectively the worse food I've ever tried in El Paso. Idk how you can possibly mess up Chinese food this bad

Claudia B.

Yelp
Good food usually, although there have been a couple of times where food had no flavor. Guess it just depends on who's cooking as some days really good, others okay and then sometimes no flavor. This time around was delicious and wish it was like this always, more consistency.

Abraham A.

Yelp
I ordered my lunch from here and I was disappointed by how the food was prepared. The egg drop soup was disgusting, and had too much salt in it. The kung pow chicken was like soup and barely edible.
google avatar

Chef I.

Yelp
The food here was exceptional. The pot stickers were excellent and so were the wings. Also the shrimp and beef meal was really good, with the sauce being the highlight. The pineapple chicken was also a great balance between sweet and tart. Waiter was a bit of a d*** but the food made up for it.

Linda A.

Yelp
Ordered a dish with shrimp chicken and beef! The shrimp were so tiny I think they may have come from A can. Panda has better shrimp! I use to have dinner here all the time! I wonder what happened? Service was so slow!

Yelp
Former owners of Chopsticks, delicious! Not a buffet, nice atmosphere and great customer service. Definitely returning...and patiently awaiting one to be built on Eastside!

Yelp
The food reminds me of food from local Chinese takeout in New Jersey. It was a bit bland from the appetizer to entree. The stir fried rice was delicious. The egg roll was not what I expected as I anticipated a traditional egg roll. We ended up taking off the batter and ate the inside. The sauce of horseradish was too strong which made my nostril flare literally. Desert crème brûlée was adequate. Drinks: vodka tonic came in a shot glass not a short glass. If the business is charging full prices for a drink then it should be in an average size short glass. As my boyfriend held the glass he appeared to be holding a miniature glass; same for my wine glass. Don't cut corners to make more profit on a customers account. We are there to spend money regardless. We are drinkers! Our waitress Laura had a fantastic genuine demeanor. She was truly attentive, informative about the menu, and a great server. She definitely made our first time experience there worth it. The ambiance was sophisticated and calming due to decor and pianist. Definitely would had loved to dress up for this place. Overdress! Yes, yes.. Lastly the price did not match the quality of the food. A dinner for two with 20% tip came out to approximately $160. Also, the menu was too long with many food choices. I prefer a shorter menu as long menu's overwhelm me personally. My intent is to help improve business overall. We enjoy dining out.

Yelp
At first glance the restaurant seemed legit. Nice atmosphere, it was packed and the hostess seemed very helpful: oh how that would change. We were assured the wait was going to be less than 30 min, that turned into 50 min. We were sat next to the wall by the kitchen door. I scooted the table closer to the wall so that the waiters zooming by wouldn't bump my son and immediately the male host/manager told me I had to move the table back out so my chair wouldn't scratch the wall. I noticed from a distance that about 4 booths were available, I then asked the host/manager if he could move us over there and he flat out said no. I said "excuse me"? And boy how everything went downhill from there. The server took about 10 more minutes before she even acknowledged us. We ordered drinks and my ice tea was minus the ice and she didn't leave straws I also had to have my son walk over to an empty table to grab the sweetener dish for me. We ordered our food and the server made sure to let me know ordering fried rice was a $2 up-charge. When the food came the fried rice was a tiny cup literally have the size of the white rice and again we were up-charged $2 more. When i asked the server about it she smirked and said that's the size it is. Most of the food was Luke warm to cold and definitely did not taste good. This was so frustrating since people spoke so highly of this place. Definitely will not recommend and wait it doesn't end there, just as we were walking out my son asked the guy that was so worried about the wall if he could change a dollar for quarters to buy a gumball from the machine INSIDE the restaurant and responded, "hold on I'll be right with you!" At that point I said F@ck this place and that joker of a manager. Not once did a manager pass by our table and ask how things were going. I definitely do NOT recommend a joke of a restaurant. Save money and go down the street to panda. This place is trash. Do not go and expect the best because you will be disappointed with the worst. Bill came out to $90 for 3 adults and 1 toddler. Absolute trash.

Yelp
Great Service !!! Great Food!!! Really enjoy coming to eat here because of the ambience as well. The servers are VERY kind and always very hospitable. Marcos y Domingo are great servers . When you come and visit , ask for them .

Kenneth B.

Yelp
The service was okay. But the food.... Was like a 3/10. It had not seasoning at all. But it look fancy on the outside and inside.

Patti T.

Yelp
I had the Cashew Chicken and my friend had the Kung Pao chicken. The fried rice was also charged separately, which is ridiculous. Don't waste your money on overpriced and bland Chinese food.

Yelp
We were greeted by the hostess Anna and she took care of us right away. We really appreciate her swift handling of getting us a table ready. She does such a great job. Our waiter Sergio was very quick and although they were super busy, he brought the order out quickly and did not leave us unattended at all. Thank you Mr. Wong for the great experience at your restaurant.

Yelp
Sorry Paco Wongs was kinda disillusioned that it wasn't even 7pm yet and was not seated because you would be closing soon...
google avatar

Amanda O.

Yelp
I tried once, and would just rather go to a Chinese buffet. They're prices don't reflect the quality of food they serve. Food wasn't awful, but I will kindly take my business elsewhere.

Sylvié L.

Yelp
This food is disgusting! Not at all what it use to once be! fried rice looks old and is tasteless. Sweet n Sour chicken is horrible, and eggrolls are soggy. Only good thing was the packaging. Over priced disgusting food. Couldn't even eat a fourth of it. My dogs had a little piece of the chicken... regretting that too.... Hoping they don't get sick!!! Do yourself a favor and don't go to Paco Wong's on the basis of memories! It's nowhere near what it use to be. Not worth my drive to pick this up! YUK.... Oh ... only one of my little Daschunds ate the chicken ... the finicky one spat it out! That says everything! Not even the dog will eat it!!!

Jessica B.

Yelp
The food was mediocre at best, the service was terrible, and the restaurant was dated and too loud. The rice seemed like minute rice, not steamed. I steam my rice at home and the rice here came out of a pot. The chicken was way overcooked and very chewy. They have a large menu, so it seems like they pre-cook the chicken and just toss it together with the corresponding veggies and sauce. I'm certain they do the same for the many other dishes. My son's beef dish had a raw piece of meat sitting at the bottom of his serving dish, while other pieces of beef were overdone. We also got potstickers that were toasted on one side yet the dough was raw in others. I'm just surprised this place maintains in business. Service was also terrible and we took a long time for the food while other patrons received theirs. Also, I asked for a refill for my son when we were served the appetizer - my son was almost done with his dinner when his refill finally came. We will not be coming back. Curiosity satiated about this place, but not our tummies.

Yelp
Wife and I are still searching for good Chinese food in our area. Paco Wongs is a very attractive restaurant, but food was average and price above average. Our egg rolls were good, but 2 for $6? My beef and broccoli was forgettable. Beef was chewy and broccoli slightly undercooked. Her tofu and vegetables were good. Restaurant interior is very nice and wait staff professional. Kitchen staff holds this place back. Search continues!

J D.

Yelp
Great food. And the customer service was amazing. Originally from California. Best Chinese food spot in El Paso

Manuel R.

Yelp
Excellent Chinese Food Restaurant in El Paso Tx Highly recommended with a rating of 10/10

Brianna F.

Yelp
Never disappoints. Beautiful place, good service, and delicious. Would def recommend, even worth the drive from the east side for some great Chinese!

Yelp
Food was cold bro? WHO DOES THAT!! y el mozo! Horripilante servicio. Muy ogro. Eso no se hace ni al peor de tus enemigos.

Yelp
Love this place for Chinese food, their almond duck is my go to anytime I am in El Paso. This is the only place I will order duck from.

Yelp
Three family members went to PW's for lunch. The "food" arrived and was inedible. For reasons that elude me, instead of declining the meal and the almost $100 bill, they packed it up in styrofoam containers and brought it home to me.....saying nothing about their awful experience. I, naive fool that I am, anxiously heated up the contents for dinner, and quickly became repulsed by the appearance and taste. I have never, in over 70 years of eating, ever tasted worse restaurant food. From the grisly, greasy "chicken", to the strangely-textured red-ink "pork", to the tasteless sliced "beef" and undercooked broccoli.....honestly, no words can convey just how disgusting they were. As my humanitarian gesture for the day, I am warning all potential customers to avoid this restaurant at all costs.....and believe me, their cost is far, far higher than their quality.

Yelp
This rating is almost fully a staff issue. The restaurant has QR codes on the table, but my phone was nearly dead, so we asked for physical menus. The server was very casual as he brought the menus "Sorry, everyone uses those..." We thanked him and moved on to choose items. I wanted the beef and Chinese cabbage dish, but wanted to substitute tofu (something that is a regular option at Paco Wong's and one that I've done multiple times. This caused an issue where the server was trying to make up a new dish instead of just ordering the substitution. He remarked that the (physical menus) aren't accurate and that's why people use the online version. I changed my order but was annoyed at menu issues. I scanned the QR code and saw that the beef and chinese cabbage was absolutely still on the Digital menu as well. I think he knew I was annoyed because late in the meal, he arrived with a random cup of soup saying that since he knew I liked tofu, this was the only soup they served with tofu. Further, that the kitchen was closing, so it was just going to be thrown out otherwise. Weird flex, but ok... Then he asked my friend if he wanted some too... And brought a cup of hot and sour soup. Then said, in a very conspiratorial voice - just tell anyone! Frankly, he already told us that it was getting tossed. I get the idea of building rapport with clusters but that isn't it. My dish was fine - nothing die is, but totally fine. My friend's Szechwan dish was bizarre with a really unappetizing sauce that tasted like ketchup and BBQ sauce. I try to support local places and will patronize them again in the future, but this was the least "good" experience I've had in months and months.

Yelp
Ambiance nice, food terrible. Way overpriced for quality. If the food was good the price may be fair, however, the food is bland and tasteless. This restaurant reminds me of the terrible Chinese food in Las Cruces. It's disappointing. You should not eat here.
google avatar

Victoria M.

Yelp
excellent food , been going for years , great service too . classy and elegant place for a good date night

Michael G.

Yelp
Menu items expensive as hell. Wife and I ordered a cup of hot and sour soup, got a cup of mushrooms with a funky taste, told the server about it and he remarked it was hot and sour soup and that it was going to be hot, it was not the hot part that I was complaining about. He was like 'oh well' and walked away. Shared an appetizer $11.00 dollars a person, four items each on the plate, when he set the hot mustard down he sarcastically informed us it was hot mustard and that it was going to be hot, Service was crappy, staff only spoke Spanish server did not go to check on us unless we waved him down. At the end had to let him know we were not paying for the soup, had to get the manager to remove it from the ticket. should have stuck to Red Wok across the street.
google avatar

Charlotte L.

Yelp
It was my first visit to this restaurant, the place is nicely decorated. The food is the usual Chinese fare, their menu is quite extensive so if you're craving mandarin duck (which we ordered) you can definitely have it here. The portions are huge so be prepared to share. This was the perfect spot for a romantic lunch date. I only wished they had plum wine. The service is exceptional, but unfortunately our nice waiter did not know English so it was tricky at times. We enjoyed the hot jasmine tea, egg drop soup, chicken with snow peas & Mandarin duck. If you're on the west side of town give this place a try. The art, interior design and food will take you away from the hustle and bustle at least for a short while. I'll end the review by saying yes, Chopsticks should return. Maybe this time to the Fountains.
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
Not sure why the ratings are so bad. Great food every time I have been here. Paco wong wings are and all of the food is good in my opinion.
google avatar

Adri K.

Yelp
Please, for the love of God, bring back Chopsticks!!!! Everyone I know wants it back!!! PLEASEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

George G.

Yelp
Paco Wong was highly recommended by different friends so we decided to try it today Sunday 03/06/22. What a disappointed! Great ambiance and presentation though, but the food was terrible. No flavor and way too greasy. One of the items was depicted as deep fried chicken breast with sesame oil and sesame sauce, but it was just breaded legs and tights with no flavor. We ordered several items and after the first bite we realized we made a big mistake. We ended up throwing away all food to go. The service was impeccable, and our waiter was friendly and courteous. We will never come back.
google avatar

Beatrice S.

Yelp
Love Reminds me of juárez at the Shangri-La. Not too many good restaurants here in El Paso that sell pressed duck with almonds my favorite. I recommend combinations will be back

Ekaterini K.

Yelp
Food is great!!!! Chile Amor is my favorite salad in the world, crispy wings are so good and the shrimp rice is 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone who wants delicious chinese food !

Isaac A.

Yelp
Food was great, ambiance is lovely, but the service was terribly slow. Waiter would take 20 minutes to come with our drinks and then took another 20 minutes to take our order, it was very slow at the restaurant so I'm not sure what's going on.

Paula K.

Yelp
Everything was so delicious and cane out fast! The staff was so polite and always checked in on us.

Daniel C.

Yelp
Food is great, but most importantly, it's consistently great. Id recommend the crispy chicken wings and the sweet and sour chicken with a chile amor.
google avatar

Da B.

Yelp
Great food. Service was slow. Our sweet and sour chicken is usually fresh and hot...today.. it was cold! :( Pressed almond duck is the BEST AROUND!! Family of 6 ate for $112.00 awesome! Definitely gonna be back for more!!
google avatar

Victor R.

Yelp
Little less than a 30 minute wait. Tried to flag down various waiters. We weren't able to get any help. We got no food, no drinks and no service, not even a menu the entire time.

Carol T.

Yelp
Worst Chinese food ever and SUPER expensive. Paid 20 dollars for 8 pieces of shrimp that were the size of a penny. Tiniest shrimp I've ever seen. My husband and I went to Panda Express after which was so much better
