A Boise staple since 2002, still family-run and spice-faithful. Recognized by Idaho Statesman readers; locals return for pad prik king, yakisoba, and properly fiery spice levels.

Service was great, called in to make a “to go order” guy over the phone was very nice and helpful with helping me make a decision from the menu. Ordered Spicy noodles and beef pad Thai. With the cream cheese wontons. Ordered a bit spicier than I wanted at a level four for both dishes. Still tasted great. Such a homie atmosphere when you walk in. Like you’re walking into your friends moms Thai house. Price might be a bit much for the amount you get. I paid about $45 for all these items which is a bit much.

Pad Thai House has been a go-to for Thai food in Meridian for years, and the newer location makes it even better with a big dining room and plenty of parking. The staff are always warm, welcoming, and quick to help. We kicked things off with the fresh rolls and Thai rolls, both packed with flavor and paired with dipping sauces that are the real star. The Pad Thai is the dish everyone comes for, and it never disappoints. I usually order it with shrimp or pork, and it always hits the spot. I go for the four pepper “authentic hot.” It brings some heat, but it is more like a solid four-star American spicy than true Thai fire. Service is consistently excellent, and the vibe is casual and comfortable whether you are eating in or grabbing takeout. This place has been a long-time favorite and still delivers every time. Highly recommended.

I started with the fresh rolls (spring rolls) as an appetizer. They were good—pretty standard compared to others I’ve tried. The Thai chili sauce that came with them was sweet and light, which complemented the rolls well, though I would have preferred a thick peanut sauce instead. For my main dish, I had the chicken Pad Thai, ordered at a hot spice level. It was delicious and full of flavor. I especially enjoyed the crushed peanuts, which added a nice extra layer of peanut flavor. The large green onions were a great touch, adding both texture and freshness. The sauce had a darker, savory profile, which worked well, but I do wish it included a richer, thicker peanut sauce for that classic Pad Thai experience.

Second visit, the food is still great! Tried the roast duck for the first time.

I had the pork pad woon sen, which is my favorite Thai dish. It was excellent. The fried prawns were delicious as well.

Food was good. We came at dinner time on a weekday. They were not very busy. We were seated immediately. Waitress was very nice and quick to bring out drinks/take order. The medium spiciness was hot and an addicting type of spice. Challenge anyone to an "authentic" level of spice, but i think if I need id be drinking more fluids than eating!

Google
Love their green curry. Everybody in my office wants it all the time! Problem being they never answer their phones and service can usually be spotty. So disappointing when they have good food. Oh well. We'll have to find somewhere else. Edit: Unfortunately there is not a way to order your green curry on your online ordering portal? If this is updated and we can start ordering online, that would alleviate the headache and I would be willing to change my review! :)

Honestly we used to like going here but the last few times have not been a good and off-putting experiences to the point we probably won't be back. The latest time was our take-out order. Today we ordered chicken fried rice which states it has meat, egg, carrots, peas, onions, and cilantro. We only marked no carrots. We were glad we opened it in the car before we got far because it looked like just rice and chicken. This wouldn't have been a problem if the staff was friendly or helpful in correcting it. Instead they were unhelpful and didn't take any ownership to apologize or want to correct it. Instead I was told by a younger lady in the back in monotone- "they were out of peas and carrots and if I look closely I can see onion" and "They never add cilantro on their dishes" Okay all that would be fine if you didn't advertise those toppings on your dish. People should know before paying for an order what's on their dish no? and if half the things described don't actually come on it they should know before paying for it. So not worth the money, hassle, or rude service. Too many other quality places to choose to eat from and also with this economy more aware where to spend your money and not waste it.

Yelp
Ugh I love this place I could live in their curry And everything is so clean and the staff is so sweet Thank you for everything

Yelp
Ordered take out on a rainy Monday and was very happy with my choice. Food was fresh, hot and the spice level was perfect! Look forward to returning on my next business trip to the Boise area- Thank You!

Yelp
Came for lunch today and boy was this place poppin! It was so busy! Nothing makes me happier than seeing local businesses thrive! A couple of my co workers showed up before I did. They got some cold rolls started. I got to look over the menu and decided on a couple things. We were going to share some apps and then we would get our own dish. For starters I got the fried shrimp and for lunch I grabbed the Pad Thai with fried tofu. The fried shrimp was decent. There was a lot of breading to the shrimp. The texture of the breading was a little hard but edible. The dipping sauce helped. The cold rolls were good. I used to hate mint in my cold rolls but with age I'm starting to like it. I love the sauce that it's paired with. The cold rolls tasted really clean. We also had cha yar as a starter. It came with a good chunk of lettuce and cucumber. The flavor of the cha yar was tasty! The wrapping of it was rather hard. Again, once dipped in the sauce it helped the texture not to be tough. My pad Thai looked beautiful! There was so much fried tofu! It was a great amount for a lunch portion. I was so surprised. But sometimes quality it better than quantity. The flavor didn't quite hit for me today. It lacked in the flavor department. I did add some lime to it but it still didn't give me the normal flavors that I wanted. I was really hoping that my pad Thai was going to knock me out of my socks. This is probably the first time I wasn't impressed with my dish. I have had the birds nest and yellow curry here. Both have been fabulous. I just know with it being so busy that maybe they prepared it quickly to push it out. Either way, maybe it just wasn't my day. I know I will be back. Looking forward to a potential good meal here.

Yelp
Quick seating lots of tables, quick service with plenty of room and the pad Thai was delicious at very reasonable prices.

Yelp
We come here whenever I come to town and the food tonight was especially good! String beans (medium spice) were a new order but that was definitely the best dish tonight. Pad thai with shrimp (medium spice) was my favorite of the night Yellow curry with chicken (medium spice) was yummy but we probably should have gotten it spicier to balance the sweetness better Thai hot wings (medium spice) were a new dish for me but it was decent -- the chicken skin was delicious but the sauce was kind of lackluster for me.

Yelp
Good food, fast service. Loved their garlic shrimp. Very tasty sauce. Large seating area so there is usually an open table even when the parking lot looks full.

Yelp
Picked up my order today 11/16/2025. I was at the front of the register for my pick up. The person working the register was busy. The elderly Asian lady, who just finished wiping some tables, blatantly walked right across in front of me while looking at the White couple behind me, and asked them, "You're here for pick up", then told the person working the register that there was someone here for pick up. Im Asian myself, but this crusty old hag treated me as if I was invisible.

Yelp
The main complaint I have is if you're in a wheelchair or use a walker you wouldn't be able to enter the restaurant without help. The service is prompt and friendly. The background music is just loud enough to hear but not interfere with conversation. The food came out quickly the Kung Pow chicken was a little under done for my companion. My Pad Prik King was perfect and the right amount of heat.

Yelp
As I sit here during the lunch hour, I'm delightfully amazed and appreciate the extreme speed of service and taste of the food. I ordered the spicy noodles (D) with hot spice. It was out within 5 minutes. The taste was excellent, and their excessive use of garlic is perfect! My only complaint would be the use of a lot of oil. So much that it was difficult to keep the noodles on my fork. Other than that, I'm in and out within 20-25 minutes. Perfection.

Yelp
Came back a second time because I saw a top Thai food ranking in a local publication. Clearly the readers have never tasted Thai food. We had Pad Thai and Pad Kra Pao Moo Sab and they were bland. We had chicken satay and the sauce was closer to american bbq sauce then a real peanut satay sauce. If you want real Thai food there are two other options I have reviewed that are excellent. The only good thing I can say is that they had Singha beer. This place is a total miss. Sorry

Cool J.

Yelp
Nice Ambiance and service I ordered take out. Sweet and sour chicken, chicken satay, chicken chow mein and spicy noodles (which was supposed to be the drunken noodles or Pak Ke Mow). Portion were good. Unfortunately the one Thai dish was disappointing as far as traditional flavor. My wife enjoyed the satay and chow mein.

Katherine M.

Yelp
I have an egg allergy. I told my server that I have an extreme egg allergy and if they could make my dish without egg or cross contamination. He said yes. When he brought out my food, it obviously had egg. I told him I couldn't eat that because of my egg allergy and to take it back. He rolled his eyes at me, then took it back to the kitchen. Less than 5 minutes, he was back and said they had remade it. I took 3 bites and it tasted off and had black bits. It tasted burned. I stopped eating and requested they box it up. Within 10 minutes hives started to pop up and my throat began to close. I believe they just picked out the obvious egg and slapped it back on the grill instead of making me a new dish. If I would have eaten the entire dish, it could have been life threatening. If you can't or won't accommodate a food allergy, I respect that. I could have eaten somewhere else, or I could have ordered something else. I am totally okay in respecting your right to cook the food as you like, just be HONEST. However, you don't say you can then ignore the request. Your establishment could have put me in the hospital. Anyone who has gluten issues, celiac or food allergies should NOT trust this establishment.

Yelp
The Pad Thai was good but unfortunately it took over 30 mins for my food. I came alone and though they were busy it wasn't packed. I would guess they were short staffed because everyone around me had to wait a while and I could hear people getting frustrated. There were also customers who walked out after not being helped on the "to go" side. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated and spacious though and my waiter did apologize for the wait. I just hope this was one of those one off days in terms of service!

Yelp
Decent place and spacious. Food was good and had a good time with the friends we were with. The atmosphere at the place felt clean and comfortable, your not very close to other groups or tables. Like other Thai places, they seem to be removing some veggies and just putting thr protein.
google avatar

Yelp
Still the best Thai in the Treasure Valley. Tom Kha is not too lemony. Good curries. Fried ice cream is delicious.

Yelp
We've been to Pad Thai House many times in the past years and keep coming back for great food and service. Friday this week was a total disappointment- I ordered their signature dish- Pad Thai. What was delivered to the table was most certainly not Pad Thai. It was a gooey, tangled clump of vermicelli noodle - a few badly overcooked bean sprouts and a couple tiny pieces of chicken. Pad Thai is traditionally made with flat, dried rice noodles known as sen lek- what they served resembled a rice vermicelli noodle more commonly used in Chinese Bee Hoon. They are not the same and not interchangeable. I could not detect the fish sauce or tamarind in the food and I sent it back. My wife had the Kung Pao (which is not Thai food) and it was just ok... overall the visit was a huge disappointment and hopefully an outlier.

Yelp
First time here, found it on Yelp. Thanks to all who did previous ratings to draw me in. Very nice place, well decorated, clean bathroom, comfortable seating. We went in at about 2:00PM and there were only a few other peeps in the place. We ordered off the lunch menu and the meals were very good sized for $9.95. I had the Pad Prik King at the 3 pepper Hot level. I should have opted for 4, but I wasn't sure how hot it was going to be. I am sure they have pepper sauce, but I didn't ask for it. The dish had plenty of pork and veggies, and the fried rice was on the plate. Be warned that there is a firm leaf used as a spice and it isn't to be eaten. I did taste it and it had a very strong flavor, but again, it's too tough to chew up. The rice was cooked perfectly. I am not rating the main squeeze's dish since she is doing her own Yelp now. She did have the same item but with chicken. We also had the Fresh Rolls which come with a little sauce that really opens up the flavor of the rolls. Our server did a fine job. We will be back.

Yelp
Their food is always amazing! My hubby and I love this place. We have always had great service at the front desk and from the wait staff. The outside and inside of the restaurant is nice and welcoming. We try to try different things on the menu when we go in. Their Pad Thai is amazing! I also love their spring rolls! I wish I had more photos to share!
google avatar

Jennifer J.

Yelp
My prik king was excellent! Plus, they had Thai tea with coconut milk for vegans, which was very yummy. The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly too. Great lunch spot!

Yelp
Chefs kiss to it all! The service. The food. The price. The amount of food. The taste of food. The drinks. All so good! We will be coming back.

Yelp
Food is amazing. Love the yellow curry and the generals chicken. Very on point with service and drinks. Never had an issue and will continue to return
google avatar

Clyde W.

Yelp
The fresh rolls were the best I've ever had. Pad Thai was the best Pad Thai I've ever had, a lot of Pad Thai has a lot of over powering peanut flavor but this didn't at all. I loved it. I rarely leave reviews but I had to just because this place was awesome. Super fast service and super friendly staff, it was pretty busy too and they got everything out way quicker than I expected. Really fair prices, especially for the portion sizes.
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
Great red or yellow thai coconut curry, always! The pad thai is great too and almost everyone I was with ordered that good ol' reliable. The helpings seem to have grown a bit that you will for sure have leftovers for later and everything is priced fairly! I really like their new location. Service is always superb. If you're looking for some good Thai food in the area with a quick turnover, this is a good place to enjoy it!
google avatar

Jacqueline M.

Yelp
Delicious for Boise area. Coming from the Bay Area which has the best Thai food around, Pad Thai House is quite good. Very accommodating, friendly, clean Thai restaurant.
google avatar

Brianna B.

Yelp
I would say I was way less than impressed with the Pad Thai dish. I absolutely love Thai food and was excited when I saw all of the amazing reviews. The Pad See Ew was delicious and the yellow curry. We got the sweet and sour chicken which was good too. The Pad Thai was a 2/10 for me. I am not picky either and was let down. The Thai iced tea is loaded with sugar and made all of us sick. Overall it was really good but not completely impressed to go again.
google avatar

Mikey S.

Yelp
OH MY GOD!!! I am so sad that I just found this place after living here for 3 years. Hands down overall best restaurant in the Boise area. Order the Pad Thai and you won't be disappointed
google avatar

Ryan J.

Yelp
Such good food, super affordable as well. Best Thai place I've had so far in the valley
google avatar

Helene D.

Yelp
Been here more times than I can count. I feel like since they moved to the new location, some of their dishes have been a hit or miss, but majority of the time, it still is a great place to get some Thai food! I got the beef yakisoba during lunch time and it was great. The Pad Thai noodles were super yummy and they cooked the noodles perfectly. I also Highly recommend their coconuts fried ice cream. I always get one when I visit. Currently drooling as I write and think about it. Also please be patient at this time as they are short staff as well, so make sure you have some room for any wait time.

Yelp
We have been wanting to try this place since moving to the area because of some the great reviews and also any food of this kind or Chinese is non-existent in the Boise area. So this past Thursday we treated our oldest daughter to dinner and came here to give it a try. Inside very bright and clean with lots of seating both tables and booths. Forewarning this place can get busy and even on a Thursday night it is as very busy. We needed having to wait for maybe 5 mins before we got sat. We weren't even aware for 1 min before our waitress Carina came over and helped us. I have to pause and I hope the owners read this because the difference for me in this being 3.5 stars and more of a 4.5 stars is because of Carina. We ordered drinks and a couple appetizers to start. I will review in order. Appetizers: Fried chicken egg rolls= 4 star great flavor and peanut dipping sauce was delicious. Chicken lettuce wraps= 5 star great flavors as well and I would come back just for these. Dinner: Chicken pad Thai= 5 star and what they are known for and yes I know it's cliche because this is such a staple but to me this cannot be messed up. Generals Chicken = 4 star solid flavors a little to saucy for me but the chicken was moist. Wanted it spicy and unfortunately it wasn't. Pineapple fried rice with pork and shrimp = 2 stars was my least favorite item. The rice was so over cooked and somewhat mushy. The pork was ok and the shrimp were way overdone. Mongolian beef = 3 star while nice and spicy the meat was was over cooked but did have great overall flavor. Overall very good 1st experience and will for sure be back. This is hands down the best tasting Thai/Chinese restaurant you are going to find in the Boise area. I have tried and I would highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Portions have shrunk considerably, especially for lunch. Sweet and sour chicken had a few pieces of chicken spread over a plate with a few vegetables. Fresh rolls small and mostly noodles. People behind us watching Asian soap opera- painful to try to eat while listening to that. Let the server know but nothing was done. Slow service, very few people in the restaurant. This used to be our favorite but not so excited about it now, we have been coming here since they were at their last location and have always loved it but the last 3-4 times we have come in, it's been the sa. The Thai place across from Whole Foods is much higher quality - it's a northern Thai restaurant not sure the name.

Bill M.

Yelp
Not your usual where they give you spice rack with dry and wet spicy sauces. Here you get plastic package of Sriracha. Server kept disappearing and mine and three other tables were frustrated. Server disappears many times and the sweet and sour chicken was not cooked to order it ruined all of our dinner time. Waited 15 min for check as server disappeared when we said let's go after two bites. Worst food, worst service. Terrible condiments. Never to return.

Sheila B.

Yelp
Love this place. The Cho jou is delicious. Carina is a gem...always try to ask for her table. They were a bit short on staff last time, but everyone was hustling, so it wasn't too bad. Atmosphere is pleasant enough
google avatar

Joanne S.

Yelp
Went there many times. Food has always had a lot of Thai flavor. Tonight we ordered Kung Pao chicken, the roasted duck and Mongolian beef. These dishes had no flavor what so ever. Bland. Tasted like plain unflavored chicken, the Mongolian beef tasted like boiled beef, and the duck was tasteless. Won't be back.

Yelp
Oct 2021 Update: First time back after the pandemic. We did a lot of take out from here during the pandemic. No staff wearing masks, no customers wearing masks. The food was delicious. I had the green papaya salad spice level 5 which is very different than spice levels of curry due to fresh hot peppers. It was truly spicy (what I wanted). My husband had the beef panang and fried shrimp and liked both dishes a lot. I had the green curry, spice level 20 and it was not spicy enough but was very delicious!! Service was great; they had a sign that they're low staff but it wasn't too bad. The place was packed for lunch! Best Thai food in town.
google avatar

Andromeda H.

Yelp
Ordered a chicken noodle dish, picked up and went to work. The noodles have a burnt aroma and taste terrible (also it's almost all noodles and barely any chicken) and now they just closed so there is no correcting it. Won't be eating here again ever.
google avatar

Taylor W.

Yelp
Pad Thai house was amazing! My husband has been to Thailand and he says this is the closest place he's found to authentic Thai food. We went for lunch and they had incredible lunch specials. All of their lunch plates were $7.99 and they had huge portions. The lunch menu is a steal for high quality food! My favorite dish that I tried was the pad Thai. I got it with the medium spice level and it was prefect! It had a little kick but nothing too crazy. I absolutely loved this restaurant and will be frequenting on the weekends to hit up their lunch specials!
google avatar

Michele C.

Yelp
I have never posted a negative review. But I feel this one is warranted. We visited Pad Thai House last weekend and ordered chicken Satay and Cashew Chicken. Chicken Satay was sliced so thin. I would guess we got one oz of chicken total for $12.95. The Cashew Chicken was all veggies with about 6 cashews an about 1 oz of chicken sprinkled throughout. This was disappointing. But what caused me to write this review is the disgust I felt when a saw the staff broom off a table with the same broom they used on the floor! I will not be returning
google avatar

Jane Z.

Yelp
A good Americanized Thai restaurant, still good for Thai cuisine. My favorite is the spicy noodle dish, ask for authentic spicy.

A N.

Yelp
Host was rude and didn't smile once when I was asking for a table. My server was also rude and had a tone, shocker! Must be how they train their employees. Food is okay, and the seating area is odd. I won't be coming back.
google avatar

Blake C.

Yelp
Disgusting and over priced. The portions of chicken with the entrees were sparse and my wife's chicken didn't taste like chicken...
google avatar

Kristy B.

Yelp
Love Pad Thai for some yummy Thai food and drinks. Good service. Family friendly and we all had a good time.
google avatar

Rachelle R.

Yelp
Loved my sweet and sour chicken! Service was good too!!! yummy!!! That's all I wanted to say but this review requires 85 characters or something. Now I am rambling.

Christine W.

Yelp
SO amazing. Best restaurant in Boise hands down. We ordered the chicken pad Thai and the spicy noodles. But they live up to their name- so spicy!

Cathy B.

Yelp
We have missed our favorite Thai restaurant from where we used to live, and have been in search of something comparable. Finally stopped at Pad Thai House and were thrilled to discover that it just what we were looking for! The restaurant is nice and clean, and the service has been great!

Isidro O.

Yelp
Awesome atmosphere, great food and service. Always consistent in portions and quality. Takeout is quick as well.

Heidi G.

Yelp
Just celebrated my birthday here with my mom. I have been coming here for years and it's still one of my favorite spots in town. The food and service is amazing and they're consistent too which is nice. Go to order is cha yor and pad thai chicken, the pad see ew is good too! Portions are big enough to have leftovers and appetizers are great size to share. Only thing is sometimes the food isn't spicy enough but no need to fear just ask the server for some extra chili oil to up the heat, perfection! This is great for lunch or dinner and is pretty casual, getting to go orders is super easy too.
google avatar

Yasmin I.

Yelp
Super bland food. Ordered oolong tea and they only put in one tea bag in the kettle for 2 people. Super disappointing.

Lynn E.

Yelp
The food is very good, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was very comfortable.
