I went to shoot pool and was told I have to drink in order to play. But, she was accommodating. (The bartender, mean.) She said I didn't have to buy the drink right that second. Understandable, but here is my 'hang-up' with this:
Since the only money I had on me was the $10 roll of quarters I had hoped to dump in their pool table, I asked a sweetheart pal of mine who happened to be there if he could spot me the beer. (I've tried paying/tipping with my quarters meant for pool and turns out they don't like that at various establishments. )
I'm not much of a drinker; I prefer the organic inhalation intake process myself. I like to hit bars with pool tables and will normally not drink anything stronger than a stiff Roy Rogers. (Cherry Coke) While bars typically do not charge for soda pop, I always tip a few bucks for the service. Then, pour my quarters into the pool table.
That day, I'd have spent more money on pool than what my buddy paid for that beer.
