Paddy Wok - Review - London - The Infatuation

"Hidden down Creekside—the kind of grey Deptford lane that wouldn’t look amiss in a moody Sarah Lancashire drama—is Paddy Wok. This Irish-Chinese spot serves London’s best spice bag out of a Tardis-blue, (lightly) banged-up shipping container." - Sinéad Cranna

The staff were really friendly. I came by myself and I was unsure what sauce I wanted to get with my 4 in 1- they let me try both the Satay and Curry sauce. I still couldn’t decide so they offered me smaller size pots so that I could have both sauces which was so sweet. Both sauces are incredible. The Satay sauce you can tell is homemade, the flavour is strong but compliments everything well, mixing it with the curry sauce is nice too. Satay sauces typically can be a bit mediocre or lack the peanut flavour but Paddy Wok’s had the perfect amount. The chicken was better than I expected sometimes crispy breaded chicken can be a bit bland, this was lightly seasoned but really delicious by itself and with the sauce. The flavours of the chips and egg fried rice were perfect as the sauce is so flavourful so anything more would have been overkill. I can’t wait to return and try the spice bag and the sweet & sour sauce. My only note to improve a little bit of music, nothing too loud would be nice for the sake of atmosphere. Otherwise great place to go alone or with friends.

I don’t usually write reviews cause I’m too lazy to log into my google. But this place is deserving of it. After a very long walk to get here. We ordered the spice bag, spring rolls, chicken balls and curry sauce. Had to order another curry sauce cause I refused to share with my girlfriend. The food is banging! We got 8 spring rolls which makes me so happy 😂 I’ve not found a good curry sauce since my chip shop closed but this sauce is so friggin good. This is my first time trying a spice bag and it’s not disappointed me at all. If you are ever in London. This is one place that’s a must to add to your food adventures list. The staff are lovely as well which is always a bonus. My belly and heart are happy lol 🤣

I had heard alot about 'The Spice Bag' from friends and was told I had to try this. It certainly lived up to expectations. The photos don't do it justice, every bite was just a burst of flavours. So tasty, I was still thinking about how good it was the next day! The portion size is generous, the staff are super friendly and the restaurant itself has a cool vibe. What a great find! Would definitely recommend.

Good value, great service and friendly staff. Best spice bag I’ve had in the UK, just like in Ireland. I will definitely be back. Thanks guys

I can’t comment on the authenticity of the spice bag but as a person coming from another culture where we love piles of stuff on fries this was great! Everything was nicely spiced and the sauces were delicious. The outdoor seating is nice and service was pretty quick.

Tried the spice bag with chicken and veggies, flavours were good but it was quite a wet bag rather than crispy and dry which is what I would have expected. Was told carrots, onions and peppers was included in the bag but unfortunately there wasn’t enough of them and not a single carrot was to be seen. Great for sharing and great drinking spot but very expensive! Wouldn’t come again

About time the spice bag landed in London! Delighted with taste of home - I could drink that pot of thick curry sauce until it kills me. I haven't comfort food like this in over a decade. It's in a while different level! Everything was crispy and fresh - nothing soggy and no over cooked veg either. And flavour enough to make your mouth burst!

Unbelievably nice food and hard to get Irish-style Chinese food in London. Stuffing in the chicken balls was a revelation. Drinks available from bar at venue too with a wide variety of beers. Friendly service and pretty good value too (portions decent).
