"Orange County bakeshop Paderia is on the lookout for two people who managed to team up and walk away with a pretty full tip jar recently, though they did catch the whole thing on video." - Farley Elliott

Cute shop decorated for the Chinese new year! Croissants were some of the best I ever had, the caramelized bits melt in your mouth. Triple Chocolate cookie was my second favorite. Chocolate chip with sea salt was a solid ok. Malasada was soft and delicious. Vietnamese ice coffee was delicious. Service was sufficient.

I bought a $40 e gift card 2 hours before I arrived- but when I got there they said their system was broken for a few days and could not process my e gift card-no cash - BUT credit card was fine. And said they could not refund my e gift card- I am visiting from Texas and am leaving in 2days. Egg tart crust is very flaky. Egg tart part not as firm as I would like. Nutella Malasada didn’t take like Nutella at all- bread part was fluffy. Unfortunately it’s not fair but I am comparing it to Leonard’s malasada in Honolulu.

This is a small shop. It’s great for pick up. However, there’s not a lot of seating or tables to hang out and eat the goodies. The croissants were delicious! Egg tarts were on point and not greasy. Will be back to get more!

Love this little shop! Everything i have tried is a 10/10 Banana pudding, cheesecake, cookies and lattes YUM

Google
Paderia in Fountain Valley was a surprise to find, as I was looking for a new coffee spot to try in the area. I was pleasantly surprised that they offered Malasadas almost as fresh and tasty as those I go back to Maui for again and again. The banana pudding and Portugese Egg Tart are also a must-try along with any of their coffee items. I ordered the Mazapan iced coffee, and it was smooth and flavorful, but most importantly, not overly sweet. I will come back to try other menu items that struck my interest. The staff is friendly and makes your order feel special!

Google
Cute little cookie shop, the cookies are delicious, and huge, although I highly recommend this place, I also highly recommend placing your order online, as they sell out fast of their items unless you're ok with waiting for fresh cookies to come out. But there's no guarantee you'll get the ones you want, as they may be fully sold out for the day. But other than that, really good cookies all around, the salted caramel and triple chocolate became my favorite. And the matcha cheesecake was delicious, super creamy.

I just had the most amazing experience! 🤩 The service was so friendly and welcoming, I felt right at home. And the food? Absolutely delicious! 😋 Every bite was a burst of flavor. I can't wait to go back again soon. Highly recommend checking this place out! #GreatService #DeliciousFood #Foodie

Google
Confession... I’m absolutely addicted to their cookies and I hardly eat cookies! My go to flavors are chocolate walnuts and triple chocolate. I’ve been driving out here just to stock them in my fridge for later. That’s an hour drive and I’d think I’m crazy too if I hadn’t taken the first bite! Each cookie is $4 but it’s a good size (6oz). They are like cookie mounds. It’s crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. Not exactly undercooked but the texture is buttery and soft almost like a chewy brownie. It has a lot of butter but who cares! It’s compared to Levain bakery a lot. However, I actually prefer Paderia more! I like them especially when they are freshly toasted! (I keep them in individual zip lock bags and microwave them for 20-30 seconds before popping them into the toaster oven for 5 minutes. I’m very extra ... I am aware! Lol) I’ve also tried their Portuguese egg tarts and masalada. The egg tarts have a very flaky shell and the custard is rich and creamy. It’s alot thicker than most asian egg tarts, almost like a creme brûlée custard. Their masalada has many filling options. The dough is very airy and sells out in hours! If it’s your first time, definitely check the store hours! You can call to check availability or preorder 3 days in advance if you’re planning to stop by! I’m hoping to see them expand closer to LA!

Yelp
Paderia Bakehouse is a modern and trendy bakery with locations in Fountain Valley, Irvine, and Santa Monica. They are known for the egg tarts and also offer coffee, tea, and other drinks. We ordered the portuguese egg tarts, malasadas, and sea salt chocolate chip cookies. The egg tarts were deliciously flakey with lots of layers, the cookies were soft and huge, and the malasadas were just okay and I thought they could've had more filling. We popped them into the oven to warm them up and I think it made the pastries more tasty. They are "open until sold out" so they will continue selling their products until they are all gone. When we got here at around 2pm a lot of their items were already sold out so if you want them fresh and have more options I'd recommend coming earlier.

Yelp
Paderia is the place to go if you want delicious sweet treats. The inside is beautifully modern and clean with the front display showing their delicious offerings. There is only a few bar seats inside so I would say this is definitely a grab and go spot. The cookies are my favorite item to get here; they are large New York style cookies that have that crisp on the outside but still are moist and chewy in the inside; the best of both worlds! There are seasonal flavors so I tried the blackberry corn and it was delicious- not too sweet but still had that savory corn flavor and tart blackberries between each bite. You can't go wrong with the other classic cookie flavors. The Portuguese egg tarts are heavenly. The crust is so flaky and buttery, and paired with the custardy filling is perfection. The malasadas remind me of the ones I had in Hawaii and give me that satisfaction here in the States; never oily and the filling flavors are delicious and not overly artificial tasting. The tiramisu and the banana pudding are also one of the desserts I often get and both are deliciously decadent and keep well in the fridge! The drinks here aren't my favorite as they are either too watery or way too sweet in my opinion. Some people may complain about the prices but I think they're fair considering how the pastries seem made in house. Paderia is the place I go to if I want a sweet treat for myself or to a gathering since I know it will be a crowd pleaser.

Yelp
Raspberry matcha latte - raspberry purée is perfectly sweetened, with none of the artificial aftertaste. matcha is bold and robust, balancing the sweetness well. loved how the chia seeds add a nice texture to drink. Staff friendly and quick. Came at 1PM on a Sunday and they were out of majority of their pastries and specialty drinks, just had the OG lattes, egg tarts, and cookies available.

Yelp
I want to say it's been over a year I've visited Paderia Bakery since it's not local to mee. Somewhat glad it ain't cause omg I'd be here almost everyday and become fatter than i am already. Lol I had the Honor to be the 1st of idk handfuls to try Paderia Bakery new item Croissant b4 it gets release to the Public. Launching date 10.26 ~ Croissant is huge buttery crispy flaky goodness. I'd be back to grab this especially if you love croissants. ~ Pistachio Latte is good. Has the crunchy pistachio nut bits mixed into the drink. ~ Ube coconut Latte is really good. A new fav drink of mine here. The coconut is subtle and not strong at all along w the ube. Definitely and highly recommended. Their caffeine is legit n has a kick to it. Got both drinks half 50% sweetness and it's still sweet. ~ Banana pudding is scrumptious yummy. Filled w a good amount of banana along w the sweetness fluffy pudding. Is on the sweeter side dessert. Service is always great here and associate is really friendly and offers good advice on what drinks to choose from. Still the nice bakery filled w greenery. Love the vibe of the gold touch of the decor. Very modern and classy.

Yelp
Ensaymada - buttery sweet - soft and warm - tasty Plain Malasada - warm and fluffy - lightly sweet Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookie - sea salt is very concentrated and salty - just okay Cinnamon Sugar Malasada - warm and fluffy - good amount of cinnamon sugar

Katie B.

Yelp
I'm one of the few people who can appreciate a simple cookie for $6 but I'd say the cookies here might not be worth the price. Don't get me wrong, these cookies are bomb dot com but there are a couple things that were subpar on my last visit. Customer service here was meh, the girl that was helping me was not very friendly. I mean I don't need much, but a simple "hey happy new year how can I be of service to you today" with a little smile goes a long way. LMAO. It was around 3pm and they've already ran out of the malasadas and ensaymada . But I always go for the peanut butter chip cookie any day. And it never disappoints. EXCEPT that she didn't even bother to ask if I wanted it to be warmed up and literally just gave me the cookie in a napkin. Their hours are weird too, they close at like 2:30pm on weekdays, like who can afford to battle traffic to eat overpriced cookies on their lunch break?!! Decor is cute, they have ~5 bar stools for you to sit on while waiting. Parking is usually ok.

Mylinda T.

Yelp
Came on afternoon on sunday and almost everything expect for cookies were sold out quite unfortunate. we ended up only getting drinks. the matcha horchata was incredible. I'm rarely in the area but when i am I always stop by and they're always low stock or out of stock seems like a constant problem

Tania H.

Yelp
Love this place, not the first one I go to but glad I have one closer to me. The banana pudding is 20/10, Amazing!!!!!!

Minh V.

Yelp
The thing that I appreciate the most is when I walk into an establishment and people actually greet me. Good job Paderia. The space was super small but functional. We were able to sit inside and enjoy our matcha and goodies. We enjoyed everything we've ordered. We'll be back.

Yelp
Stopped by here on a Saturday afternoon and it was sooooo good! If you're looking for elevated baked treats from different cultures, this is the place to visit! This is a very small shop with little seating but a super cool aesthetic. There's a great variety of drinks and desserts to choose from! You order at the counter and they call your name and show you your order to make sure everything's correct. Service has always been very friendly here too! What I ordered: -Sea Salt Chocolate Cookie: This always hits, it's the perfect cookie. It's sweet and salty and a pretty large size! If you can't decide on what to get here, you can't go wrong with this one! 5/5 -Salted Caramel Latte: This was amazing as well! The sweetness of the caramel and the slight saltiness were in perfect balance, it's definitely a dessert kind of drink. There was some kind of whipped cream on the top that I wasn't a huge fan of but it was an overall delicious latte. 4/5 Overall, this is a cute, trendy kind of bakery with top quality goods! It is kind of pricey but I think it's worth it due to the taste, quality, and uniqueness of the desserts. I always enjoy the treats that I get here so I will definitely be returning!

Yelp
I've been meaning to check this place out every time I'm at Shabuya I get reminded. It is the best egg tart that I've had and must be tried. The quality is so good, but I do wish the price was a little lower. Half a dozen was $21 before tax :'( The worker was super friendly and engaging. The store is super clean and a good size! ig: @cravingswithcat

Yelp
I have been to Portugal, the Azores and Spain so I have a knowledge to rate these delicacies The ensaïmada is a pastry product from Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain. Malassada is a Portuguese fried pastry from the Azores. It is a type of doughnut, made of flattened rounds of yeasteddough, coated with sugar and cinnamon or accompanied with molasses. As much as I love them, I only buy these maybe once a year as it's very rich n a little too sweet but really delicious. My husband came back from the doctor probably looking forlorn as he had to fast n got up early n he had to wait in line. The server noticed that n gave him an extra Malassada. Every donut was delicious, the ultimate best was the flaky custard the Portuguese delicacy are famous for. All of the donuts could be less sweet but I'm sure every European bakery adjusts the taste to match what Americans like. One thing that was not good was the coffee, a waste of $3.75. It was flavored w either an artificial vanilla n or chocolate. I hate flavored coffee as coffee is the flavor you want why compromise that? That said I still rate this 5 stars for both value (as compared to the $6 German donuts called Berliner) n taste, it's a great way to get up to an amazing espresso I made with the Swiss Nespresso coffee maker n delicious Paderia!

Yelp
Finally stopped by Paderia Bakehouse for some sweat treats. I've been dying to go here. We picked up 3 cookies, an egg tart, an ensenada, cup of cold brew, and sampled the oatmeal raisin cookie. Everyone in the group loved a different cookie. - Triple chocolate chip Shefali loved - Sea salt chocolate chip Jen loved - Walnut chocolate chip Helen loved The egg tarts were delicious, oatmeal raisin cookie was so delicious, and the cold brew wasn't bad! We are all excited to return!

Alex N.

Yelp
The cookies are quite good. But if you decide to order a drink it usually takes quite awhile. They put a lot of attention into the drinks. Although I do wish that the coffee flavor were prone in the drinks I can appreciate the quality of the rich froth of the lattes. The cookies themselves are fresh but room temperature and very thick and weighty with a beautiful crusty outside. If you nuke them for 20 - 25 seconds the outside remains crusty but the inside becomes soft and gooey. Chocolate chip walnut is my recommendation.

Yelp
Paderia Bakehouse located in Fountain Valley with other locations in Santa Monica and Irvine. It has received a ton of praise from various publications as I am aware of , and Paderia is famous for its Portuguese Egg Tarts (often hailed as the best in Los Angeles), Malasadas (Portuguese donuts), seasonal cheesecakes, and cookies. The taste of egg tarts was incredibly similar to those I had in Macau, and also with a richer creamier taste than those sold at KFC in Taiwan. I bought six of them and they were delicious but a bit pricey at $3.25 each. The cookies come in various flavors, and they offered samples in-store. I ended up buying an Oatmeal Raisin ($5.25) and a Pistachio White Chocolate ($5.25). The cookies are large, and slightly cheaper than the famous Gideon's Bakehouse in Orlando (where cookies are sold at $6 each). I personally prefer Paderia's because they're less sweet. I also spotted the seasonal Ube Cheesecake ($6) was available. It looked healthier and since it was recommended by a lot of foodies, so I picked up two to for my in-laws. In total, I spent $42 without even realizing it! Honestly, they all tasted pretty good and are a good gift choice for friends and family - the packaging is stylish with black-and-white boxes that match the store's aesthetic and website design. The only downside? I would say there's limited seating--Most customers grab their treats to go. Paderia Bakehouse 18279 Brookhurst St #1, Fountain Valley, CA 92708 https://www.paderia.com/menu

Yelp
Ordered banana pudding, and Mexican hot chocolate cookie and a latte. Banana pudding was so good and I loved my latte, I'd like to come back and taste the horchata latte. I wasn't a fan of the cookie but that was personal taste, it had a chili powder after taste that I didn't love but the quality was great, I'd just try a different flavor next time.

Gen G.

Yelp
When I first saw and tasted the cookies, my first thought was the mouth-watering New York Levain cookies. Similar in size and certainly the next best thing here in Orange County! Totally worth it for $5 a piece. I often buy the Triple Chocolate, Peanut Butter Chocolate and the Chocolate Walnut and I savor each bite. Yes, they are humongous, but you don't have to eat it all in one sitting :) I place it in the fridge and when I have my craving I heat it for about 10 seconds. i love warm cookies as it gives off a 'freshly-baked' feel. Packaging is elegant, perfect for gifting. The place is small and easily packed when there's a line, and the staff are really friendly and nice.

Eunice T.

Yelp
I had high expectation for this place due to the reviews, unfortunately, I cannot say I share the same sentiment as others. They're known for their Portuguese egg tarts, cookies, ensaymadas, banana pudding, and malasadas, so I went with the egg tarts, cookies, and malasadas. The custard of the egg tarts were good, but I personally didn't like their shell. The malasadas' breading was also not as fluffy as I'd like. The cookie was pretty good, except that it's too sweet for my personal preference. It's a huge cookie so it's something that'd need to be shared with multiple people unless you have a sweet tooth. I thought I could finish it myself (in 2 sittings), I was wrong. I still had leftover LOL. Overall, for the items I've tried, they're "just okay". I've definitely had better else where. And yes, there are good ones in SoCal too (except maybe the malasadas).

Gay F.

Yelp
Their tiramisu and ensaymada are good. Not much that you can stay since there are only 3 seats available.

Andrea G.

Yelp
Thought these cookies would be over ragged but every bite had me moaning like my bf does...BEST COOKIE EVER!!! Crunchy on the outside, mushy and melting on the inside; pure perfection!

grace f.

Yelp
Loved the Malasadas. So fluffy and has a nice chewy dough. Perfect amount of filling. Nutella and vanilla were both good. Kinda liked the vanilla better. Matcha horchata was nice and refreshing. I'd ask for less ice next time though. Service was friendly and loved how clean it was inside. A few seats available but it's more of a to go place.

Jasmine V.

Yelp
I love their banana bread pudding!! It's so creamy and the banana flavor is so natural. They actually have pieces of banana in it. The egg tarts are super good too. The pastry is nice and flaky and the egg cream itself if not too sweet but it's delicious. This is my go to spot for baked goods. I'll be back for the malasadas.

Bee B.

Yelp
Their ube cheesecake is scrumptious! It's not overly sweet and doesn't taste like the traditional cheesecakes out there. It has a light and fluffy, but creamy and dense texture at the same time. I usually get horchata iced coffee, but decided to get it hot and it was equally tasty. Everything I could want in my coffee. Service was pretty quick considering it wasn't too crowded on that particular day. Shop is simple in decor, but clean with wood and greenery decor. I've had their various donuts, cookies, and the custard egg tarts--can't go wrong. Have gotten them as gifts for birthdays and meetings and it always adds a nice touch!

Leilani Q.

Yelp
Easy parking, quick service, nice conversation. Got the egg tart, cheese ensaymada, and horchata latte Egg tart: delicious! But wish it was warmed like the first time I ever visited a shop. Cheese ensaymada: soft, buttery, sweet, savory. Don't forget to ask for it warmed! Was amazing with coffee Horchata latte (hot): a little too sweet for me and not enough horchata flavor, I think the iced strawberry horchata was better

Macy M.

Yelp
The cookies are so warm and I love the flavors they offered. My favorite is the chocolate chip and walnut cookie. We also ordered Nutella, vanilla, and cinnamon roll malasadas which were pretty okay. The workers are really nice and I really enjoy the aesthetic of the restaurant. I came here towards the late afternoon, and the ensaymadas were sold out. Next time for sure, I will be sure to come visit earlier to try out their ensaymadas.

Linh P.

Yelp
If you're having a sweets craving, Paderia is the way to go. I love how thick their cookies are and their banana pudding is so good too. The cream is light and refreshing, making it the perfect dessert!

Todd I.

Yelp
My new go to spot for Malasadas while on da mainland. Think of Leonard's and Penny's Malasadas on Oahu. These were light and coated with sugar. Not overly sweet either whether filled with Nutella or custard or not. Portuguese donuts are so good. They also have a display of a variety of cookies. I had a sea salt chocolate chip cookie that's got my brain and my belly wanting to try the rest. This store is on a corner location of a strip mall shopping center and is nicely adorned with a menu and a multitude of awards. Come try! You'll love it!

Kay D.

Yelp
I always come here for the cookies they are quite expensive but really good and whenever I crave banana pudding this is the spot I go to. One thing though is that the banana pudding is really sweet - a little lighter on the sugar and it would be perfect. All the other treats are also really good the egg tarts are another personal favorite. The drinks are ok nothing special but overall nice quick service, clean, and decently priced.

Will M.

Yelp
Venturing into the OC for lunch, I satisfied my post-meal sweet cravings at Paderia Bakehouse in Fountain Valley. Known for their Portuguese egg tarts, the bakery sits comfortably in a plaza with ample parking. I opted for a warm vanilla malasada--a fried donut with a creamy vanilla center. While a bit sweet and dry for my taste, it provided a simple indulgence. The real stars were the Portuguese egg tarts, known for their flaky crust and delicious custard filling. Grabbing a couple to-go, I looked forward to warming them later for an extra treat. The banana pudding, enjoyed a few days later, exceeded expectations. Perfectly balanced sweetness, layers of wafers, and an abundance of banana goodness made it a delightful surprise. Paderia Bakehouse crafts simple treats into moments of joy, creating a sweet spot worth revisiting.

Eileen A.

Yelp
Updated review. Paderia is beautifully decorated with holiday greens right now and it's giving a welcoming and clean aesthetic. I get the same thing every time and it never disappoints. - large horchata iced coffee - Horchata-Splashed Coffee. Milky, sweet-spiced with cinnamon & crème froth. - chocolate walnut cookie - Award-winning Cookie. Crispy outside & gooey inside. Baked with imported Belgian chocolate, pecans & walnuts pieces. I'll never get tired of this place!

Susie O.

Yelp
I can't emphasize it enough on how great the Malasadas are from here. I just came back from Hawaii where I had Leonard's Bakery Malasadas and boy the ones here at Paderia Bakehouse tastes just the same! Thank you Paderia! I always stop by when I'm in town to get me my Sugar Malasada, Cinnamon Malasada and Chocolate Walnut Cookie. I had their Raspberry Matcha with Oat Milk and it was good as well. Very settled and not over powering matcha.

Leslie P.

Yelp
Paderia Bakehouse specializes in Portuguese egg tarts, thick cookies, and other baked goods. I ordered online for pickup and while it says "bypass the line" when you arrive, I suggest you just wait in line. I stood on the left side (as it mentions on their site) thinking I could let them know I was there to pick up my order but was completely ignored by the cashier and the others in the back. I got in line to let them know and the cashier just said ok and then left (to tell someone to prepare it?) and came back and completely forgot she was just speaking with me and tried to take my order like a new customer. Anyways.... I tried a few of their cookies which were pretty hefty. They were thick with a crispy outer edge but chewy and moist in the middle. I loved the gooey marshmallow in the S'mores cookie but the Sea Salt Chocolate Chip and Triple Chocolate cookies did not pale in comparison! We also tried the Portuguese egg tart which had a light and crispy/flaky crust with a creamy egg custard! The Banana Bread Cheesecake was also very creamy but the banana bread didn't do too much for me. All the textures were too soft together and probably would've done better with a classic crust. I wasn't particularly impressed by the service but the baked goods aren't bad. It's a very small shop so definitely a pick up and go.

Alyssa N.

Yelp
Cookies are very delicious and thick! I recommend ordering early online to skip the wait. A few items were out of stock (including the egg tarts) so we had to wait around 20 minutes.

carol s.

Yelp
Excellent egg tarts and sea salt cookies. Free parking space in the back with dog friendly setting

Jessica W.

Yelp

Kevin O.

Yelp
If this place added more seats for people to lounge in, this place would be jam packed. Came for dessert. Wanted some cookies and egg tarts. The place looks amazing, But oooohh so tiny. The cookies are all girth. When warmed they melt in your mouth. My favorite was the strawberries and cream. The egg tarts are super flaky and can be consumed in one bite. Perfect pairing for coffee. Just wish they had more places to sit.

Monica S.

Yelp
Although the business hours are reasonable, arriving later in the afternoon means Paderia has no more malasadas nor ensaimadas, just cookies. After a day or two, I returned again with malasadas in stock, but not ensaymadas, again. If you're expecting Leonard's (on Oahu) malasadas which are light, these aren't it. Paderia's malasadas are not as light. The same is true for the egg tarts. The cookies remind of NYC's Levain.

PT H.

Yelp
Not sure if the pastries are any good but it's ridiculous that they only have 2 ladies managing the place. We had to wait over 30 minutes to get our order. Could have more place for people to sit. Service is definitely POOR

Sarah E.

Yelp
I only got cookies but I will be back to try the drinks! The cookies were so fresh and delicious! My kids loved the doughnuts too!

Shauntina S.

Yelp
Stopped in here for an afternoon break. The pineapple tea was phenomenal - I wish I had gotten a larger size! The pastries were really good as well. Staff were friendly and helpful in choosing what to order. Fun vibe and love the decor! Next time I have a TjMaxx trip I'll stop in here first for my fix!

Priscilla Y.

Yelp
Cute bakery in OC! The interior is clean and modern. Wasn't crowded on a Sunday morning so staff were able to give us the lowdown on their items. We ordered the Ensaymada - a brioche milk pastry. 4/5. A bit on the drier end for brioche for me. Vietnamese coffee - 5/5 sea salt chocolate chip cookie - 4/5. Personally not a fan of chunky cookies when chocolate chips overpower the dough ratio. horchata coffee - 4/5. Nutella malasada - 5/5. Pretty rich! Only bar top seating enough for 5-6 ppl. Plenty of parking in the lot.

Joe T.

Yelp
Don't accept cash, barrista said she never tried the different flavors of coffee they had, super quiet and no one sits down inside they just leave. Would have loved to actually get something but again it's card only, got bad vibes going inside

Kelly N.

Yelp
Wow, made a delightful trip to Paderia Bakehouse in Dec on a Sat. It was so cutely decorated with a Christmas tree. Staff were very friendly and helpful with my many questions. Due to Christmas (and sharing a lot with TJMaxx I think), parking lot was nearly full, so just had to park a short walk away. Matcha horchata was fantastic! I have not had horchata too often, but my bf who loves horchata approved this one! Although I would have liked more matcha, this drink appropriately stayed true to its name with matcha flavor complementing the ricey and cinnamony flavors. It is not overly sweet due to the matcha (comparable to 50-75% sweet for tea shop comparisons). Even better is that I think it is dairy free (forgot to confirm). My favorite are the cookies! Slightly reminiscent of Levain cookies from NY (and now LA apparently), these huge and thick beauties are worth the $5.25 price tag for a gourmet-, chip/nut/fruit- filled experience. My favorite was the seasonal cranberry white choc mac nut cookie--great flavor combos and colors for Christmas. My dad loves the chocolate peanut butter one. My mom likes the blueberry coconut one. I recall the chocolate chip walnut was delicious, but I gave it away this time. All cookies are on the sweeter side so be warned and recommend to pair with coffee or tea. The egg tart was also great even though it is not my go-to. Nice and flaky and custardy. Also is egg-tart-loving bf approved. I will say from a prior visit around 2020 the malasadas were just decent but my family is spoiled by malasadas from Leonard's in Hawaii--have not found a SoCal match. From a prior trip, I thought the sea salt choc chip was a little too salty, but I am usually a low-salt person. Still deserves a 5 esp for the most recent trip!

Yelp
Giant cookies! Honestly haven't tried many of the other things but we always stop by here on our way out of town and pick up some delicious, giant cookies. These cookies may irk some of our sweet-sensitive comrades, but overall the textures and flavor is practically ideal - you get a light crispness on the outside that gives way to a soft chewy center. Expect, even if you order ahead, at least some degree of waiting. There is always a slight crowd when we go here. Service is nice but the shop is small and tends to be understaffed.

Yelp
Did not have a pleasant experience! Went to pay for my $30.50 purchase (2 Sea salt chocolate chip cookies, 2 Plain, 2 Cinnamon. and 2 Vanilla Malasadas) and was told that they don't accept cash payment. Apparently it is now a "Cashless" establishment. Methods of payment should have various options and not be dictated. I know, I know - if I don't like it then take my business elsewhere, but I still want to put in my two cents and my opinion should not be silenced just because it's not favorable. BTW, the cookies were hard as rocks...

Yelp
This place is honestly better than crumble!! The cookies they have are so different compared to the norm chocolate chip cookies etc. They change every week, I'm assuming. They have malasadas, too never had them yet. The coffee there is also the freshest coffee I've had in a long time. Granted last time I went wasn't as great, but maybe just an off day. It's small inside. It's not exactly the place to sit down and eat since it's so small. The staff is mixed some times they're in a good mood or so so mood. This Plaza has plenty of things to do after and it's a huge parking lot just might have to park far.

Yelp
Finallllyyyy I got to try their cookies! Paderia has been on my go to list for a while now. When I got there the staff was very nice and they had mini samples of their specialty cookie. I ended up getting 2 peanut butter cookies and they were sooooo good! However, they should warm up cookies for you upon request, I feel like that would be a game changer. I would come back if I was in the area and wanted something sweet.

Yelp
Portuguese eggtart is like bite sized. Custard is smooth, nicely sweet, tart is crispy and flaky, great ratio custard to tart, and overall very yummy. Only downside is they're so small for 3.25 a piece. Ube cheesecake is also very yummy. Savory, coconutty, soft, smooth, perfectly sweet. Chocolate cookie is big, thick, chocolatey, crispy outside, soft inside, served warm, and taste pretty decadent. Cold brew coffee is pretty good. Citrus refresher drink is very refreshing. Recommend this one! Everything is pretty pricey and there is only a couple of seats inside (not great for group), but service and products are top notch.
