I've been here a few times now and each time I have a hope that the service will get better and the food will be as good as it looks. I'll give them this, they are consistent as heck. The service is never good and the food isn't nearly as good it looks. It's unfortunate because it's a good location and they do have a cool patio. I will say their nightlife is better than any other time if you're looking to have a little fun on the town. I just wish everything else was better, true story.

We didn't have their food but I had a couple cocktails and they were really good. The bartenders were knowledgeable, skilled, and consistent. Nice rooftop area too. Beautiful interior.

Google
Rustic but charming Mexican style taco place. Food is good. Some things I liked more than others. For instance, I thought the salsa that came with the tortilla chips was a little heavy on the vinegar. Add I wasn't sure about the pork belly, onion, and pineapple chunks taco. Just a bit odd for me. The beef skirt tacos were awesome. Easily the best part of the meal was the bread pudding and ice cream dessert. Waitress staff were lovely and really friendly and helpful. So why four stars? Why would a trendy eating place in Long Beach put a person at the front door on 'meet and greet' duties who possesses less personality than my shoelace? It beggars belief. Utterly devoid of any interest in the guests. Mopes back to the front door with iPhone in hand checking social media for a better life.... Sigh

For Sunday brunch I had the Benedict, it was tasty but for $14 the portion size was too small, it should have come with potatoes or some other side. My wife had the potato chorizo tacos, they were well seasoned but unfortunately they were dry. We ordered Bloody Mary’s but they should have been called Citrus Mary’s, I think they used a citrus base that unfortunately overwhelmed the traditional Bloody Mary flavors. The food was good but the portion sizes were underwhelming and for that reason I wouldn’t return for brunch. I do however intend on visiting Padre for dinner someday because it’s a beautiful restaurant, staff were friendly and although I did have an issue with portion size the flavor profile was on point.

So good! Got there right when the opened for midday lunch. Everything was amazing. Guac and chips were out of this world good, margaritas were great, and the tacos so good!! The grilled fish were our favorite. Would definitely go again, if you are looking for good tacos then come here!

Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Parking: 2/5 Family friendly: 4/5 Stroller friendly: 4/5 Came here on Friday in middle of happy hour time ( think 400-700pm) reseeved for about 19 people in our party. Ambiance is lively, decorative and and giving off the dia de los muertos vibes. There is a huge outside patio, and a smaller private patio for those who want something a little more intimate. If you're like and me and enjoy a good mezcal, Padre doesn't disappoint. I had a couple El Citron's ( basically a mezcal old fashion), a Oaxacan mezcal cocktail, and another cocktail with some sort of coconut cream and a couple of reposado shots (La Gritona (excellent btw)). After browsing the menu on our phones we ended up with a medley of appetizers on the happy hour prices. Chips and salsa, guacamole, loaded fries, loaded nachos, yucca fries, beef and veggie empanadas. Let me tell you to just skip everything else and just go for the veggie empanadas and you won't be disappointed. I did end up sampling/ sharing some entrees. Plate presentation was on point, but flavor, overall though, the plates missed the mark for me. Especially, the lomo saltado. I know every chef has their own take on entrees, but to me the essence of a lomo saltado($19) are the fries and then the flavor savory meat. It seems like the meat here was on the sweeter side. And putting them in a bowl vs a flat plate just makes the fries soggy by the time we get them. Barbacoa plate ($15), although tender, was underwhelming. Finally, I ordered a New York chimichurri steak ($22-23?) but the chimichurri sauce didn't have that usual tarty, herbaceousness chimichurri's are known for. Lastly, of the three desserts that were ordered (churros ($12), banana chmichanga ($12), and tres leches bread pudding ($10)), I'd probably just come back for the banana chmichanga. The churros were small, slightly overcooked. Tres leches bread pudding was somewhat dense for me. Positives for Padre: cocktails, veggie empanadas, banana chmichanga, ambiance, full bar, oh and family/stroller friendly. Our server Keish (?) Was awesome! Not so positive: parking. Almost non existent, unless it's street parking or I missed a secret parking lot somewhere. I would come back to give it another try.

Google
I ordered the Aguachile, which was so good, had a strong flavor of mint which I’m not use to but I just avoided big bites if the mint. The Guacamole was good but the salsa was soooo good! I ordered birria tacos and chicken a pastor and my son ordered chicken a pastor and didn’t really like the pineapple on top but I didn’t mind. Meat was soft and marinated delicious. I did have to add salt and lime to my meat but that’s just me. The tortillas weren’t too Special. By the looks I was expecting more fresh home made taste. Overall the vibe and decor was a vibe!

Google
Great spot - from the interior aesthetic to the spacious patio and rooftop dining areas, with the best happy hour deals to boot! The cocktails are well-made and an absolute steal at $7 (from 4pm-7pm). The food is also delicious and I wish I had photos of all the ones we tried. The staff are also very welcoming and very attentive. All in all an awesome spot that I will be returning to many times.

Yelp
We came here for their happy hour! I can't recall the name of all the drinks we got but I can say I tried all my friend's drinks and every single one of them was a hit! I am assuming they are generous with their alcohol because we all got pretty buzzed after 2 drinks! For appetizers we got mac n cheese bombs & padre nachos....... They were so good and perfect to eat with our cocktails. I also got a fish taco - delicious as well. Their location both upstairs and downstairs is really nice. A really cute place to enjoy a drink outside. Food 5/5 Drinks 5/5 Ambiance 5/5

Yelp
Happy hours MONDAYS, WEDNESDAY , 4-7 pm Saturday, Sundays 3-6pm Outdoor patio seatings, Full Bar down stairs and also rooms with full bar available for rent upstairs. Out door Open space for special events and indoors events room available form private events . I don't have any complaints with the service , the gentleman was prompt and courteous. There's no private parking lot , only street parking and public parking lot . Don't forget to pay the meter when parked on the streets and be sure to check for street cleaning signs . We decided on Yuka fries, since they were out of Mac-and cheese balls . Yuka fries were delicious. Carne Nachos is a must here , it's more light and not drenched in cheese . Beef Biriria burrito was a miss for my two girls . They stated it was salty and didn't have much flavor and the meat was a tad dry for them . My pork belly tacos were okay , it was too salty and needed something tart like pickled onions or vegetables to balance the saltiness . I asked the waiter, unfortunately they only had chili sauce .

Yelp
The location is great. It's right on Atlantic Avenue in the heart of Long Beach. It's a skip away from the beach, the pike, and other locations. The restaurant is like a classical tuscan hideaway with all the foliage around it. There's mainly street parking and parking structures nearby so it may be limited. The ambiance is very party. They were playing disco-y funk music the whole time, it made me want to dance instead of eat. The bar area was showing very aesthetic videos. The service was pretty good. Our server came by multiple times to check on how we were doing. I thoroughly enjoyed the carne asada tacos. The meat tasted charcoal-y like I was at a barbecue. The flavor was strong and delicious. The chips and salsa were a cherry on top with their exquisite flavor. The tomatoes were fresh and the chips had some sort of seasoning I haven't had before. Bottom Line/TLDR: excellent food, nice music. P.S. Jay said this was bomb

Yelp
Underwhelming. Went on Tuesday for happy hour, because their instagram says "M-F" happy hour, only to find out on my bill that it doesn't include Tuesdays, lol. $13 esquite that you can finish in 4 spoonfuls. $14 chips and guac. Wack prices for the size. Tortillas seemed fresh but zero flavor. Fish taco tasted good but there was honestly a thumb size piece of fish in it. The chicken taco and birria were acceptable and good. The pork belly was just pieces of tiny pork with rice. Jackfruit taco was +$2 and needed a lot more flavor and seasoning. Margarita for $8 was actually good. I would only come here for drinks. Was hoping for a lot better but stick to your local mom and pop Mexican spot. How do people go out anymore for happy hour when it's $85 no wonder we're all broke

Yelp
This is a trendy spot with great food and service for a very reasonable price. I got the fried chicken tacos and they were super good. I don't usually like pickled anything, but it complimented the tacos very well. Also, the chips and salsa are a MUST. They put some amazing seasoning on the chips which have a little kick. They're so good and I couldn't stop eating them (even when I was full). Also, they give a generous amount too. We will be back, but all in all we are glad we tried this place out!

Yelp
The decor and vibe were good, but sadly nothing else was. Our waiter (Francisco) was definitely lower tier. He had a bothered attitude and gave off the impression he was bored and we were bothering him Another place where you have to pay ($4) for chips and salsa...I miss the days of that being complimentary. They were average. We got 3 drinks that tasted great but were small (Strawbiscus, La Jamaica, & Pepino). Tacos were just ok and $6 each! The Beef Saltado was mediocre. *most assuredly a one and done type of place for us

Yelp
Was in LB for a few days from LA and needed some tacos. Friends have been here before and looked like a good spot online. When arrived we walked through the restaurant and were seated outside (pet friendly). Honestly smelled inside like it gets lit at night and reminded me of the college bar smell so I'm glad we sat outside. The patio was very colorful and I liked how tables were sectioned off. Ordered a trio of different tacos and chips and guac. You get lots of chips with good seasoning and delicious guac. Got the Carne asada, baja and vegan gyro taco and all were pretty good. I love a baja taco and typically gravitate towards the baja whenever I go out, but unfortunately this was the only taco I was disappointed with here. It was mostly breading and couldn't even taste the fish. It was a very thin slice that was just covered in breading.

Yelp
The food was really good came here for a Christmas party and we ate and got drinks before we went upstairs to Mezcalero. The food was good, I ordered the guacamole & chips and it's very chunky and so much good flavor! I do recommend here for sure! You order the drinks and food at the bar. They had a good bartender Josh and he was pretty fast to input your order and make drinks. They have some seatings for big parties and small. With indoor and outside patio seating. I do recommend here to eat good food and drinks, then go upstairs to lounge and dance. Overall, it was nice, I just wish it they had Cognac options for those who like it! It's only street parking and it gets busy in Downtown Long Beach so it takes awhile to find parking! -Marshay D.

Yelp
Ambience: spacious with outdoor seating and outside heaters. It does get chilly. Service: Had what appeared "newbie" servers. They were cordial but forgetful with a few requests, no biggie. They'll get the hang of it soon. Food: No comp. chips/salsa - you pay for that. I compared the salsa appearance and taste to the store Pace Picante Salsa. Just eh. Chips are seasoned. We ordered 2 bowls. One Chicken al Pastor and one Birria bowl. I had eaten half of my bowl when I remembered to take a photo. It's served with black beans and rice. The rice was mushy for my preference and I don't care for black beans, though the chicken was flavorful I found the entire dish salty. My huband's birria dish was smoky and flavorful, however, over salted as well. We both left our bowls half full and took home the leftovers...but we ended up tossing them after they sat in the fridge for a couple of days.

Yelp
Padre can be described as Latin American with its colorful decor and Latin driven menu. It is certainly a hip spot with an upstairs bar that only serves drinks, an indoor dining area on the main floor, and an expansive large open-air outdoor patio area. The background music level is at a 10/10 at both the bar areas. Safe to say, you can escape the loud background music in the outdoor patio. The noise and music level in the indoor dining area is still a bit loud for my liking but a bit more manageable at 7/10. The menu is available by QIR code at the table. Honestly, the selection seemed limited. Beware that they charge for almost everything. Chips and salsa are not free. If you want more chips or salsa even after ordering it off the menu, there is an added cost. The chips were fresh and tasty. The amount of salsa and guacamole served was about average, which is probably designed for you to order more. Being a gastropub-like atmosphere, they specialize in beer and cocktails. They do have wine on their menu, but strangely enough, they "ran out" of wine on a Saturday night, so it was not available. They do have fountain drinks, but no iced tea. Similar to their crafted cocktails, their food menu items are an innovative spin on foods from Mexico and Latin America. I had the Peruvian Saltados. It was actually very good with the small sized shrimps and a fairly healthy size portion. Since we were celebrating a birthday, we brought our own cake. Beware that they charge a $3 cut cake fee per person. For that $3 fee, they provided us only with additional plates and forks by our request for our little celebration. There was no cake storage or cake cutting done for us. So service in general was fair to average. I can not give high marks for service at Padre even though the food came out fairly quickly after ordering. Maybe that's why they automatically charge an 18% gratuity for parties of 6 or more. Padre is definitely geared for the Gen Z's and singles that want to be seen. Even though the restaurant was fairly full, most of their business emphasis appears more towards the bar area and their crafted cocktails and bar food. If that is your scene, Padre is the place for you.

Yelp
Food: 4/10 Service: 6/10 Ambiance: 6/10 Went here for a quick bite to eat before a show nearby. As much as the menu and the outdoor patio looked amazing, the biggest let down was the food. It was just not good. They do have an upstairs rooftop bar that sounded like it was a good time so maybe if you're coming here for drinks only, give this place a try.

Yelp
My family and I were looking for a authentic Mexican spot in Long Beach. Unfortunately this spot did not meet our expectations. Nice vibe and our waiter was good but the food was just blah. The michelada however was not too bad... Also ! Parking was brutal. Had to circle around the restaurant a few times to find parking on the street. Good luck if you have kids or have an handicap occupant in your party.

Yelp
Still a solid place for dinner and drinks with friends. We prefer the outside patio for fresh air and space. Service is friendly. The only issue is depending on who the bartender is, some cocktails are made differently and can be a miss. They don't have any issue making corrections which is great.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious and great outdoor seating. I've frequented Padre several times both for happy hours, taco Tuesdays, and even a date. I recently had the Baja Fish Bowl (being a Catholic on a Friday during lent made seafood choices easier!) Despite a relatively chilly evening, there were heaters abound to keep us warm. Service was quick, it would be nice to have free chips and salsa, but as an appetizer it was great. Tasty margaritas too! I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Absolutely incredible Mexican food and my go-to place for Taco Tuesday. Padre serves $4 tacos all day every Tuesday and as you can see by the pictures, the tacos are a healthy size. There are plenty of options to choose from and I recommend trying at least every single taco one time, even if that means you need to make multiple visits Love the entire restaurant, but especially love the outdoor seating area. Service was elite.

Yelp
$4 taco Tuesday. Can't beat it. Homemade tortillas. Every taxi we had was on point. Fish, asada, Al pastor, fried chicken, birria. All fantastic. Not small tacos either, almost 2x a street taco. Worth $7 regular price, a steal at $4. $8 margarita was very tasty.

Yelp
This is honestly a 2 star review for brunch bumped up to three because of an apologetic server, but honestly I would not recommend this place for brunch and if the food then is any indication of the regular service, I'd pass on Padre for other meals as well. After looking at the menu online, we made a large party Brunch reservation for a Saturday in December. We assumed we'd be walking into a bumping restaurant but it was in fact dead, and we were literally the only party at 11am. It was a beautiful, brisk day and our table was in the bar area set along the large windows, which would have been fantastic except for the fact they faced the sun and there were no curtains to keep it from shining directly into the eyes of half of our party. We made do, but those affected had to sit spread out to avoid the sun. Then we found out they had no coffee. How do you have a brunch service without coffee? There's a grocery store across the street. Why not go get some when a whole table is asking for it? So we had waters and I ordered a cocktail, which was actually quite delicious but on the small side when you consider the great ice and classic collins glass. The food was just as disappointing as the rest of the experience. Sounded good on paper but didn't translate to the table at all. We ordered the french toast with a side of bacon for the kids ahead of the rest and it came out fast BUT... the bacon they serve is the low quality microwavable product you find at Subway and other fast service restaurants, and it arrived to our table raw. It also made the avocado toasts ordered by others incredibly sad, with flimsy and barely cooked pieces all over it. The French toast we got looked beautiful, but so uniform that I have a hard time believing they actually made it. That said it tasted as expected and the coffee whipped cream on the plate was the best thing we tasted the entire meal. I wanted to order the chilaquiles (hard to mess up) with their famed pork belly, but found out they were out of that too so I asked about the aguachiles (traditionally raw shrimp served marinating in a spicy salsa and other garnishes) and found out it's actually cooked shrimp dressed in a salsa, more akin to a ceviche than the name, so I went for the seasonal ceviche, which sounded so interesting. What arrived was a bowl of improperly slacked tuna with strong aroma and aftertaste and mushy texture, lots of sinew from poor trimming, and unripe watermelon and strawberries, instead of what was described on the menu. At that point I sent it back and declined a replacement and shared my wife's chilaquiles with her. Our server was the best part of this experience. He was friendly and present at the start, but as the experience went downhill, we saw him less and less. When he did come around he was apologetic and tried to find solutions to the issues presented, but didn't really go above and beyond in what he offered, only removing the items we returned for the quality issues cited above. He did try and had there been more redeeming parts of this experience I would've happily given 3 stars, but sadly I can't. Maybe lunch and dinner are better. Maybe it's the time of year we visited. I don't know but I know I can't recommend dining here for brunch based on our experience.

Yelp
Came here after the Long Beach Pride Parade. Padre didn't disappoint. We had queso & chips. The chips were fresh, crispy and nicely seasoned to go with the velvety smooth queso. We all had the cucumber margarita, I don't recall the exact name of the 'Rita. I had the 3 taco plate with barbacoa, fried chicken and pork belly. The corn tortillas of the tacos were so soft and tender but pliable enough to hold all the fillings of the tacos. All 3 were so delicious. My top favorites were the pork belly and the fried chicken. Service was friendly and attentive. We ate at the outdoor patio. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
3 stars for the service and shrimp taco. I came here with a friend for brunch and there were a few things that happened. The first thing was that there was an empty restaurant but a 20 minute wait for two people to be seated. Second, we were seated outside without being given the option to sit inside or outside. Third, the carne asada taco was not good at all. I took one bite and could barely stomach it. It's beyond me how one can mess up a carne asada taco. I ordered chips and guac, a shrimp taco, Baja fish taco and a carne asada taco. The shrimp taco was the best thing I had. I thought it odd that dried cranberries was a topping on the seafood tacos, but it worked. The service was great but I don't think I'll be back for the food.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed in this place. My one star reviews are few and far between but this place, the food and the experience sadly yells 1 star. Valentine's Day dinner. My girlfriend and I made reservations for 430 pm (the place opens at 4) so when we arrived at our reservation time it was pretty empty since it had just opened. We got seated at the worse place in the restaurant, the outside patio. Theres another outside area that is beautiful but that's not where we got seated even though the place was pretty much empty. And the hostess proceeded to tell us we had to limit our visit to 90 minutes because it was Valentine's Day and they had lots of reservations... ummmm okay thanks. Our server came in about 5 minutes took our drink orders and as soon as he left we heard a commotion up top, 2 raccoons were fighting right above where we were seated!!! I'm guessing they live there because when the server came back with our drinks we pointed up top and he said "raccoons"? I was suprised he already knew. But I'm assuming they already know they're up there because the raccoons live there yet the restaurant continues to seat people there. It's disgusting because it's directly above where people sit so if the raccoon use the restroom guess where that goes? When they move around and the leaves fall. Yup all on your food. But at that point we were committed and had our drinks and reservations so we just ordered our food. The menu by the way is contactless so you have to scan an app and look on your phone. No pictures of nothing and no description of the food. Just the name of it. I didn't like that at all. Our food came out in about 45 minutes after we ordered which was extremely annoying since we were on a time limit (right hostess?) and it was empty when we got there... the nachos I ordered were horrible. They consisted of a drizzle of nacho cheese, hardly any meat and pico de gallo. Most dry bland nachos I've ever had and they were room temperature at best. Slightly cold My girlfriend's burrito... we'll look at the picture... not very appealing & there was peas in there! Weird thing to be in a burrito. The food was pricey and it was not good at all! At this point the raccoons were in a full blown fight. It was freezing cold outside and they hadn't turned on the fire warmers they had out there and we were upset about the whole experience, so we quickly asked for our check and left. But we did tip our server pretty well... it wasn't his fault, he was decent. But it was the Worse experience we've had at any restaurant in a long time. Probably would have been better off going to Taco Bell. Our Valentine's Day date night was absolutely ruined. I will tell everyone to steer clear of this place. Watch the raccoon video. It's nuts.

Yelp
They made the 4 of us wait outside on the front steps because at least 5 (of our party of 8) were still searching for parking. That was weird...I've never been punished for having half my party ready. I mean, the standard rule-of-thumb for "How many at the table must have their meal served and waiting before it's cool to start eating?" has always been 'at least 50%'. Everyone knows that. How it does not apply to the 'ready to be seated' part? Anyhow, there we stood in front of this joint, waiting, sweating, running out of small talk. Once #5 arrived, we were briskly seated at our little outback paradise under patio umbrellas - and it all began to click. Much of this was the young and expertly cool waiter. He completed us. What we ordered: BAJA FISH TACOS - Killer! COFFEE FRENCH TOAST - Unique and spectacular...almost dessert-like. (and another with crispy good fried chicken) PADRE BENEDICT w/ CARNITAS - YES! EMPAÑADAS - cheese & beef - very good CHIPS & SALSA & GUAC - outstanding ICE COLD MODELO - mmmhmmm MEZCAL FLIGHT - dynamite! It ended up being a great dining experience, despite the off-kilter start. Good times and good food.

Yelp
Made reservations for 13 people for my 50th birthday dinner... We showed up and they were CLOSED. No one bothered to call and let us know they were going to be closed. Yeah sure, we probs should have called to confirm the reservation but the reservation was made in person with the hostess so we thought we were good to go since she put it in the iPad in front of us. Never again. -1 STARS but unfortunately I am defaulted to give them at least this one measly ass star

Yelp
I came to Padre for dinner with my cousin on a Thursday night. We ordered padre nachos & loaded fries as our entree. For protein, we had chicken for the nachos, & asada for the fries. Both were very bland and had no flavor. They had tons of tomatoes & very little meat. I ordered the strawberry hibiscus margarita. It was amazing. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered a second. The second one came 20 minutes after I ordered it. Not sure what was going on at the bar, but it wasn't that packed for them to make me wait so long. For dessert, we shared the mini churros with ice cream. It was delicious! 10/10. I wish the churros were a little more soft vs crispy, but they were good nonetheless. I'd be back for drinks and dessert. Not sure about the food though.

Yelp
Visiting Long Beach and stumbled upon this gem. They have an awesome back patio area which is really great for hanging out and drinks. Ordered: Aguachiles Baja Tacos Chilaquiles Drinks: Strawberry Lemonade Pepino Margarita Everything was good and flavorful! A bit spicy but still good. Service was good. The waiter was very attentive. Overall, this was such a great find!

Yelp
First off, I want to highlight that I believe that this business is using fake accounts to pump up their rating . If you look at the most recent five star ratings, a large majority of them are accounts without any photos or other reviews .I hope Yelp looks into this . Anywho I'm writing this review today solely due to the ex gang member big Lou who is the current manager . Came here today and drove 40 minutes from West LA only to find out that they ran out of what I had ordered a ( mixing kit) . To add insult to injury after informing me that they could not fulfill my order and that I essentially had wasted time, energy and gas. The manager big Lou was extremely aggressive and disrespectful, and told me to move my car from the back of his lot. There is no disabled parking and there is no parking really around the store however, I thought it would be OK to quickly park adjacently in his parking lot as I had put in a drink order 40 minutes ago that was supposed to be completed.. all they had to do was essentially bring out my order. It was supposed to take at most five minutes. I did not think that it would be a big deal. Any delay is actually on the restaurant and not me the customer. While walking to my car, he had notified the police and or a tow truck driver and was giving my license plate to whoever on the phone and continued to be aggressive, disrespectful and rude to me a would be paying customer. As he was again reporting my car for being on private property he I guess his confused in that eye as a customer am not trespassing as a paying customer . Again The worst customer service I have received in my entire life. If this place continues to be managed by the this guy , I'm afraid it will meet its untimely and end Like it's better sister Mezcalero in downtown LA . This is a note to upper management that this guy is going to get you guys in trouble and should be a replaced immediately. Hopefully, the fake reviews will be removed soon and the real rating of this place, which is undoubtedly lower will reflect on this page .

Yelp
The outdoor patio has a playful ambiance! It's bordered with colorful wood and warm fairy lights. Our waitress was so cute and attentive the whole night! Great customer service. Empanadas Argentinas: I like these, even though they were slightly oily. The hefty chunks of beef filling were well seasoned. The acidic garnish and microgreens made the dish feel lighter. Ceviche Peruano: This was a hearty dish with thick cuts of fish. Sweet potato added a necessary sweet contrast to the acidity. The acidity beat me though, so I couldn't finish most of the bowl. Of all the tacos I tried, the fried chicken and baja shrimp were my favorite! To begin, the tortillas alone tasted fresh and flavorful. Fried chicken tacos: The buttermilk fried chicken was crunchy and tender! The habanero ranch was creamy and mild. Baja shrimp tacos: The beer-battered shrimps were PLUMP. The dried cranberries added bites of sweetness to the chipotle aioli, yet they looked randomly sprinkled on like an afterthought. I actually wish there was more of that cranberry flavor consistent in every bite, perhaps infused into its own sauce? Pork belly: I looked forward to this taco the most! The description stated, "cooked tender in a pastor glaze with pineapple & sesame seeds," so I was hoping for unctuous meat smothered in a rich savory sauce. Unfortunately, the pork belly was oddly hard and the sauce was too salty. There was also a bed of rice (?) that didn't really add any complimentary flavor or texture to the overall taco. Pollo al pastor: Buffalo pastor seasoning? Chicken instead of the traditional pork? Sounds fun! However, it didn't actually look appetizing. The shredded chicken was smothered in a watery sauce. The chicken felt soggy and the sauce tasted underwhelming.

Yelp
Wasn't sure what we wanted to eat but always down for some Mexican food. The menu looked appealing so we gave it a shot. It was Sunday around 3:30. Lucky for us, they had happy hour. We sat inside as the breeze was already a bit chilly for me. They are still using QR menus, although when we got seated the hostess didnt tell us that. So when our waiter finally came, he thought we were ready to order and we had to ask for menus. It's pretty loud in the bar area, the music could have easily been turned down just a little bit as my hubby and I felt like we were yelling across the table. We ordered chips and salsa to start and our drinks. I ordered the Paloma (mainly cause it has Passionfruit- waiter said it was fresh) & the hubby got a margarita, they were just ok. We did not order a second round. We shared the HH nachos. They were really good. Quite flavorful. The waiter asked if we wanted more chips to finish off the salsa from our chips and salsa but sadly never returned. Will we return? Probably not, as there are SO many other restaurants near by.

Yelp
We had a pleasant experience during our visit. We were seated quickly upon arrival. Tyler was our waiter, he was very friendly and checked on us frequently. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The bar area is really nice and clean. We order chilaquiles, pork belly burrito, chicken tacos and chicken tenders. For dessert, we order mini churros. All our plates were great and brought to us quickly. I had the Oaxaca garden cocktail, which I enjoyed. Highly recommend this place if you're in the downtown area.

Yelp
Overall not really happy with our meal, some of the food didn't seem to be well put together, flavors fighting each other and overall we didn't enjoy our meal. Loved the agua chile though and that's pretty much it, didn't like the Lomo and remaining dishes that came out. Service was great and ambiance was cool too good for large groups

Yelp
Great drinks Great food Great vegan options Great environment (outdoor patio with heaters) This is a great spot overall. They have a wide variety of vegan options that don't feel like an after thought on the menu. The drinks are incredibly tasty and creative. Mostly tequila and mezcal based, but they certainly offer other options as well. The inside of the restaurant has great decor but due to COVID, they've turned the parking lot into a patio that you almost forget used to be a parking lot. With turf on the ground, decor and paint all around and tables well spaced apart, it's one of the few places I give a thumbs up for their care for the health of customers and employees. They have signs asking customers to wear masks when they are not at their tables and I'm pretty sure the employees were all wearing masks. Biggest downside is parking can be tough, but that's pretty much a given downtown. But at least the meters are free after 6!

Yelp
Came here for a graduation dinner and the hostess was super nice and let us set up our decorations no problem. The table for about 25 was already prepared which was great since we did not have to wait for them to set up. Over all experience was so so and not sure I would I go back or even recommend. Atmosphere: Super fun and cute! Music was playing and really made it felt comfy and had a great Latin feeling. Food: The food was really food besides the carne asada which was absolutely bland. I had the chile relleno that came with rice and beans. The sauce was mild but had a slight kick at the end which was really good. My husband had tacos and his favorite was the fried chicken. We ordered the carne asada fries which has 0 taste. The carne asada was so bland and the fries were soggy unfortunately. Drinks: Overall were tasty. I had the pepino margarita and highly recommend it! It had a fresh taste and our whole group ended up getting one. I also had a regular margarita and it was just ok, the lime juice was overbearing I could not tell if it was mixer or real but it was way too much. Service: Awful! The server initially was great. He took our food orders and drinks. The runner was horrendous. We had one plate coming out at a time and she had no idea who the food was going to. We had an appetizer ordered that came out after the main course! She had such a bad attitude for anyone trying to ask her for anything. There was no consistency in service and we all had meals at different times. We had a member of our party go and talk to the manager but I'm not sure what he did. The server finally came to check on us and refill water but by that time pretty much everyone was done eating.

Yelp
I gave this place 4 stars strictly for the ambiance. The greenery and plants around really make it feel like a place to be. The food was okay but the drinks were better! We ordered the empanadas and different tacos that they offered. The empanadas were bomb the tacos could have been better.

Yelp
Came for drinks and made it on time for happy hour at the bar upstairs. The decor is super cute, very instagram if that's your thing. The patio outside is great when the weather is nice and the vibe is cool and friendly. Oh and the drinks were delicious, I had the cucumber one I think it's called pepino and it was so refreshing. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Ambiance: the establishment has three major sections, upstairs with loud music for drinks only, indoor dining on ground floor and large outdoor patio with heaters, great venue for large groups, don't be too surprised if heard little animals noise, could by tiny mice in the yard Service: very friendly and provided useful recommendations, though not so fast, and it took a while to get food served Food: scan the bar code menu and then place the order with your servers PORK BELLY - **** cooked tender in a pastor glaze with pineapple & sesame seeds, rich in flavors, recommend FRIED CHICKEN - *** buttermilk fried chicken tender, mild habanero ranch & dill mango pico (dairy, lupin), served near cold and not crispy at all, the oil tasted old and chicken was very dry Price: moderate portions and ordinary quality, about $15+ per person for a fulfilling meal

Yelp
I am absolutely mortified by the experience here this past Saturday 1/13/2024. Upon our arrival and check in, the place seemed empty with a few larger parties, which it seemed to me like they prioritized larger parties than a party of 2. We sat down after 20 minutes when the patio seating was entirely empty with a few patrons. Our server came to take our order, I asked her which chilaquiles protein was better and she stated carne asada. It was a $7 up charge no big deal. We came to have a good time and spend hard earned money and enjoy the brunch and weekend. None of this occurred. The mimosa bottle which was $16 but ran out according to the manager so we ordered them by the glass $9. I'm sure they sent the bottles to the larger party. No big deal. The food came way before our $9 mimosa by the glass on brunch hours and it was nicer than it tasted. We were going to order a full on margarita pitcher at $45, but decided to leave because the vibes were absolutely off and we were not welcome. I often visit the rooftop bar called Mescalero because the vibes are much better. This left an absolutely rancid taste in my mouth. Had the manager came to our table to let us know that we cannot enjoy a mimosa bottle during brunch then that would've been a simple gesture of courtesy. It was not busy whatsoever. I understand they make a huge portion of their profits with large parties but that is no excuse to forget about your other patrons paying the same amount of money even if it's 2 patrons. Absolutely ridiculous and bad business practice. I will not be a patron at this establishment any time soon. Everyone deserves great service , no matter the size of your party or ethnicity. For a "Latin kitchen " Do better.

Yelp
Enjoyed an amazingly delicious brunch with Jared providing excellent recommendations. The day was beautiful and lovely on the patio. Thank you and be back soon!

Yelp
Oh the barbacoa taco was the taco to beat! It was so juicy and flavorful. It was hands down the best out of the carne Asada and fish taco that I had. The carne Asada wasn't seasoned as much. The taco was fried, but surprisingly not too oily. Nachos were scrumptious from the cheese to the black beans and quite a decent amount of protein. I order the hibiscus Margarita which was more on the sweeter side as for my friend who got the jicama which had a little spice to it. What disappointed me was the seating arrangement. We were seated outside, near a sewage drain and they were having plumbing issues. More than half way through our meal we started to smell a strong odor and saw the sewer water coming from the floor. At first we thought it would pass and by time we saw it we were already almost done. It wasn't until we paid when the waiter apologizes for the smell and explained the sewer problems. On our way out we noticed the ceiling was dripping a little water as well. It probably just started when we got there, but it did kinda ruin the experience. We should have been asked to move tables or aware of the situation sooner.

Yelp
10/10 From the ambience of this restaurant to the quality of the food, my friends, and I had a great time at this place. We were visiting from the Bay Area and decided to eat here. We had yelped a lot of restaurants around the area, where we were staying, as well as bars. We decided to go with this one, and I was so happy we did. When we went, it was super busy, and our wait time was about 30 to 40 minutes. While we waited, we were happy enough to be able to visit there bar that was upstairs. The bartenders were kind enough to suggest cocktails and the bar area was really nice in regards of their ambience. (By the way there cocktails are delicious!) When our table was ready, we were helped by a very nice and friendly server. We were able to order guacamole in addition to the chips and salsa they bring to you. The chips themselves, had an amazing seasoning and made them very different to the regular chips and salsa you find at other restaurants. I was able to order some tacos, which were amazing! The tortilla is handmade & the meat is cooked to perfection. Everyone else at the table was amazed with the deliciously tasting food they ordered and even wanted to come back the next day. We will definitely be back here next time we visit Long Beach ! Definitely check this place out! Its a must when you travel here to Long Beach.

Yelp
I brought my friend here for her birthday because she came another time and it was so good she wanted me to experience it as well and I'm impressed! The flavors were unique, our server, Francisco, was personable and great and I think she had a great bday outing here! Also, the patio with the lights and flowers is such a vibe. I have to come back during the evening/night to really experience the magic!!

Yelp
The food at Padre was great! We ordered the peruvian saltado, padre nachos, pork belly taco, baja fish taco, and churros. Everything was super tasty and had plentiful sauces that matched each item well. Our server Lexi was extremely attentive and routinely checked in with us. Parking was a little tough. The music was really fun and upbeat. A great place for drinks on a Saturday night out with friends!

Yelp
Every single thing we ordered was so good! Our server was so nice and recommend a nice variety of items from the menu! We had the Chile Relleno with the rice and beans! WOW! The hibiscus margaritas were right on point too. We loved that we were able to order a pitcher! We also tried the Elote off the Cobb and fried yucca was cooked to perfection! We will be back!!! Chips and guacamole were very fresh!

Yelp
Seriously they show a $2 up charge for carne asada on the tacos, the up charge is for each taco, I wonder what would have been in the taco if I didn't upgrade salsa and tortillas?? The drinks were weak and the service was sloooooowwwwwww af! It just seemed overpriced for what you got I wouldn't have completed if the service matched the service. Oh well won't be back here!

Yelp
Food was good, Service was good, waiter took care of us. A bit too dark while eating, reminds me of the blu bayou in Disneyland. You can stay and have drinks upstairs and a little music to dance.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely delicious. Went here to celebrate my husband's birthday with a group of our friends and everything was phenomenal. Chips and salsa was well flavored, octopus was extremely tasty and Smokey, the veggie taco was one of my favorites as well. So much flavor, nothing was disappointing. Service was fairly good. Our server was very kind and helpful, only downside was how long it took for the food to come out but I figured it was due to our large-ish group. I want to say it took about 35-40 minutes though. Drinks and appetizers came out fast though so that helped keep everyone fairly patient! Only wish the place wasn't so dark in the bar area! We kept pulling out our phone lights to see the menu and were in our late 20s/early 30s haha. I know it's supposed to set a vibe, but just a little extra light would have been nice We'll definitely be back though!!

Yelp
FIRE happy hour FIRE service FIRE brunch you gotta hit this place up. The service is quick and I got a table relatively quickly on a weekend but maybe I just got lucky. Not a single thing I got disappointed.

Yelp
We came here on a whim for a spontaneous date night. I was initially drawn in by the vegan-friendly menu such as tacos and burritos made with Impossible or a vegan gyro. Ultimately, I decided on the Peruvian Saltado made vegan using wild mushrooms and nixing the crema. This was such a deliciously legit dish and the portion was more than enough. What I was unable to finish made for yummy leftovers the next day. https://bit.ly/3MuXU6s Meateater Hubby had the Empanadas Argentina and really liked them. As in, he couldn't stop talking about them...lol! The large patio has a relaxed vibe, bordered by colorful pallets as fencing and string lights stretched above our heads. It was a slightly chilly night so the heat lamps provided some warmth. Our waitress was super helpful and super friendly. When we were waiting for our food, hubby started researching Padre and learned that the building has been purchased and Padre will need to close this location. We asked the waitress if she had any info on this and unfortunately, they don't know when they'll have to close. But she did say that they hope to open a new location. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's someplace with easier parking. That said, we did get lucky with free street parking caddy-corner from the restaurant on a Wednesday night. Definitely wanna come back for that Vegan Gyro and maybe a drink next time. 15% discount with Yelp check-in!
