I went to Padriac's for the Monday night trivia thing. I was expecting regular bar/pub fare. Boy, was I surprised! There are two menus here, the bar fare I expected is on a "late menu." But there's another menu with a selection of slightly more "upscale" dining options on it. And that had all my attention.
It was a busy night, but that didn't stop staff from being polite, and helping our team get comfortable seats in preparation for the aforementioned trivia thing. Placing an order took some time, but staff made some really good recommendations, and looked after our every need.
I must say, everyone at the table seemed really happy with their food. The burgers looked good. My friends and I shared some of the Gouda Tots. (These do more closely resemble hush-puppies, but they were indeed tasty.) I then had a dish which instantly transported me back to New Orleans, reminding me of a Crawfish Fra Diavolo dish I once had there. Based on server recommendation, I had Padriac's Jambalaya Pasta (grilled chicken, andouille, crawfish, peppers and onions, tossed in a Cajun cream sauce). Man, they really knocked it out of the park with that dish! I can see why it's a best seller.
Or trivia team missed first place by two points. But we'll be back, both to see if we can prevail in trivia, and to enjoy some more of that delicious Jambalaya Pasta. Holler if you're coming with.
