Really well-rounded restaurant in a beautiful setting with a fine-dining approach that stays casual but also quite far below Michelin level.
The dining room and the service are great. Beautiful and comfortable decor and just the right amount of space between the tables. Really warm lighting. Friendly and attentive service (could be a bit more personal and with a nicer door-greeting, however) and a good pacing.
The menus do look interesting, especially the mezze concept is greatly executed, but lack quite a bit in choices. I hope they change the menus regularly to keep the restaurant interesting.
While the seasoning was great, quite a few ingredients on the dishes just didn't work with each other and the preparation of certain products was just slightly off, which resulted in many dishes tasting quite "average". Many courses on the menu did not impress either, since you felt like you have eaten them many times in similar establishments before. Especially the main dishes lacked creativity and complexity of flavors.
This is by no question a wonderful restaurant for a nice occasion with great food. But the setup and the prices do hint towards the wish of a Michelin star, and for that, Pageou sadly is too far away.
