"What's the vibe of this place?Paia is a funky, bohemian little town on Maui’s North Shore and the Paia Inn, a small, cream-colored building, is right in the middle of it all. Where are we on the scale of chain to independent boutique? The inn is independently owned. What's the vibe? The decor embraces Paia's low-key, mellow vibe. Rooms start on the very small side—just under 300 square feet—and many have street views, meaning you might hear the traffic and noise below. The larger suites tend to be quieter. Creature comforts include good A/C, mini-fridges, and daily maid service. Is there a charge for WiFi?Wi-Fi is included in the inn's $30 amenity fee. Food & drink, what are we looking  at?The inn's Vana Restaurant is a local favorite. You're also within steps of several other places to eat, most of which serve organic, locally sourced fare. Be sure to visit the Paia Fish Market. Who are your fellow guests? The crowd is typically laid-back and easy-going—lots of backpackers, too. What about the neighborhood? Is there a hotel scene?Paia doesn't have much in the way of hotels—it's really a local's town, and that's part of the draw. Are there any downsides? Some guests might find the street noise irksome. Thoughts on the beach? The beach is just a few steps away; although it's technically a public beach, it feels private compared to the touristy beaches in Wailea and Kaanapali. Borrow beach chairs and boogie boards from the hotel. Bottom line: Why should we stay here?Paia Inn offers a singular experience in Maui: the ability to feel like a local."

One of the most disappointing stays at the Paia Inn. The photos on the website do NOT represent the condition of the rooms or the property. They most likely were taken when the inn was remodeled but obviously nothing has been maintained and the entire property is showing considerable wear and tear. Our patio had dry rotted flooring and ceiling with poorly maintained furniture. The screen slider on the main door was rusted and had holes in it. The curtains looked like they had not been cleaned and did not fit the windows. The windows looked to have not been cleaned in quite some time. Patched ceiling with unmatched paint, musty smell throughout the room. The "private beach" has not been taken care of and has wooden chaises that you would not want to lie on. The lobby is clean and inviting but once you pass thru the lobby you enter a very different environment. Had we been able to check out early and move to another property we would have, but full payment is due 7 days in advance of arrival with no refunds. Bottom line....stay somewhere else if you are looking for a quaint, well maintained property!

My husband and I ended up stranded on Maui for a few days due to a flight cancellation. I really like the town of Paia and was looking for something on that side of the island to be closer to the airport then where we had previously been staying. The reviews for Paia Inn were all over the place but we went for it given the location. I can honestly say I do not regret staying here! If you are looking for a large, fancy hotel this is not your place. If you are seeking a cute little older boutique hotel in the perfect location in Paia, you have found your accommodations. The staff were very nice and the room was as described. Not fancy but cute and functional. There is daily coffee waiting for you in a nice little common area. The restaurant was under construction and not open, but you could see it was a good venue that we are looking forward to returning to when it reopens. The two options to go to the beach were awesome! The first one goes down a pretty walkway alley and ends at a nice ocean overlook area with plenty of seating. The entry to the beach here has lost a lot of sand due to the ocean doing its thing. You can go down to the water but it is rocky without the sand. Due to this, the Inn provides another access point a short walk down the street at their Surf Club location. This has a very easy access to the beach from a lawn area. If your expectations are as described above I highly recommend staying here. If you are seeking a fancy resort, maybe staying in Paia area is not for you and a day visit is more what you are seeking (smile).

Google
Paia Inn always has beautiful photos of beautiful girls on their Facebook page but none of the hotel, perhaps because you cannot take any pretty pictures of a rundown property. The owner seems to have lost all interest in the place and it just looks neglected and unloved. No mention about restaurant and bar being closed on the web site and in truth that space now looks like a dump. All buildings and gardens look like nobody cares, just lots of rubbish and 'things' that require repairs. Web site mentions a safe in each room - could not find one. Web site still mentions on site dining even if it does not exist. But the big information missing is the Amenity Fee of $30 per night that you only get told once the booking is confirmed! Confirmation also tells you about amount due on arrival but hotel will charge your card 1 week early so no chance to change card. 12 years ago Paia Inn was a beautiful place with with a lovely relaxed vibe but not now in 2025, it is just grossly overpriced for what you get. We were extremely disappointed and will not return.

Spent two nights exploring Pa’ia! Love the bed and breakfast feel but privacy of a hotel and inn! Service and cleanliness - fantastic! Two cats roam the property to greet you! Private beach access and amenities to take care of you during your stay.

Google
This place a hidden gem. Don’t judge by the exterior. It feels like a home away from home. Little things like the welcome scents in the lobby, complimentary beach towels, good quality coffee and tea. The room I stayed in was perfect. Sun shining through the windows, looking out into the trees, nice size for 1-2 people, clean bathrooms and good air conditioning. The common areas feel like you are at a friends house with welcoming sofas and friendly people. Doesn’t feel like a hotel at all which is what you want if you are staying at north shore Maui. The location can’t be beat. Barely used my rental car at all. Right next door to flatbread pizza and across the street from Paia fish market, two of the best restaurants on the island. Last but not least, the staff is so accommodating. Especially grateful to Rhea, whose sincerity and warmth really does make the place. Thank you! I will be back again soon.

Google
Writing a review to validate a handful of things that others have said that I chose to ignore! Also writing because this place (like all of Maui- is not cheap! I would be ok spending what I did to stay at Paia Inn if it made sense in terms of the value of what you get. I was looking to stay in Paia and the accommodations options are slim, but honestly should have just went with the hostel down the street. I was apprehensive based on reviews of this place but I had high hopes because it looked charming. The too long didn’t read is that this place seems like it was probably a very cool spot 7-10 years ago. It’s just honestly tired now. I get the rustic vibe but this place is just run down/neglected. The restaurant bar below is closed and those spaces look like they just have become storage for the place. You are charged a resort fee for some very sad amenity spaces. Outdoor furniture and decor that looks poorly maintained/broken. They provided access a few addresses down on Hana Hwy to access the beach through a “better way” where they “host weddings but just don’t have any reservations at the moment”. The place also looks like it hasn’t been touched in years and just feels neglected. Also just fyi, the walls are paper thin. Can literally hear people coughing in the next room. I really didn’t care about that because I sleep with earplugs but I’m sure a lot of people would mind that. The shower was also chipping pretty badly and needs a replacement. It’s a glorified hostel with resort prices. A couple positive things are the service. The front desk staff did assist me in opening up another parking spot when they were all full at night. The location is also nice being in Paia.

Google
Poorly maintained. Disappointing experience to the point of feeling misrepresented and deceptive. We had a gross badly stained mattress, mold on the ceiling, damaged coffee maker, and dirty sinks and walls. Our $900/night room was nowhere near the luxury boutique hotel experience promised. The pictures on the website may be from the remodel years ago as the room did not match our expectations. Upkeep is unreasonably poor; this hotel needs significantly higher spending on cleaning and maintenance. Not recommended in its current condition.

Google
The hotel is a nice looking boutique hotel right in the middle of Paia. I also had access to the beach (all good). The room we had was very very small and very expensive. It faced the street side and the window shades did not block the street lights. I am glad we stayed there, but we will unlikely be going back.

Yelp
Perfect inn nestled in a quiet-ish area of Maui. The front desk situation is easy to find. Upon arrival, the receptionist wasn't very helpful. But the later shift receptionist offered great recommendations and assistance. We would have definitely paid extra for a little more space, had we been educated on the difference. The waterfront space at the back of the property is so private and perfect. The restaurant was also so amazing. I would definitely return now knowing what I do. Can be a great value for what they have to offer.

Julie S.

Yelp
I'm a local, I live in Honolulu and I have family in Maui. I am well aware of what things cost and what to expect. I often do staycations on other islands. First off, you will be charged up front (when you book). This should have been my first red flag. Other places will hold your reservation and charge you upon check-out. Second, there is a 30-day cancellation policy. Once I arrived, I was stuck. I was so unhappy with my $900+/night room that I left early and took a loss. They still charged me for my entire stay, even though I checked out. I don't want to list every undesirable feature about this place. Despite the dirtiness and run down facility, the staff was friendly. They have an excellent website and pictures posted. In my humble opinion, that is not what I received.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! Paia Inn offers access to a private beach complete with a fire pit and chairs. Room was quaint, simple and just what we needed for a 1 night stay.

Leslie F.

Yelp
Pictures on website are deceiving. This is not plush or fancy. Stayed in the 2BR room. Decent amount of room for basically somewhere to sleep. Beds were OK, toiletries were wonderful. There are ants in the kitchen so make sure all food is in refrigerator. It is not safe to swim on the Inn's beach, a lot of rocks. Might be better down the beach a way but rolling waves aren't safe for kids. All in all not worth the money for a place to sleep in a town with mostly tourist-y shops.

Shelean F.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised at how cool this town is and absolutely loved this quaint little boutique hotel. We got room #10 and had our own private sitting area and tropical oasis with our room. The woman at the front desk was very helpful and took us to our room and had great recommendations on things to see and do, we really appreciated that, she was a doll! Loved the beach access and amenities they offer here. Can't wait to return and spend at least two nights here next time.

Yelp
I am BEYOND grateful to have found this incredible hidden gem. The absolute MOST genuine, beautifully kind, personable, and generous people EVER in life. Just one night into the next day & I immediately feel that shiny new penny feeling that you get from great eats, good people, and a warm & comfy nights rest. Thank you Flo for coming out to get me. As far as first impressions, above and beyond. So kind of you. Thank you Jocelyn for being SO gracious & generous with your time & excellent navigation shares/skills, your enthusiasm is much appreciated. Lucky to have had a moment with you. Tim, Thank you for your warm regards and fun convo upon my departure. You all made me feel like FAM!!!

Yelp
My secret garden! Too good to share. Let's just keep it between you and me. Shhhhhhhh!

Yelp
Such an elegant little piece of paradise. The Paia inn is fantastic. Nestled right on the beach. The amenities are amazing, and the beach is beautiful. It's a very little quaint area and part of town. I absolutely recommend staying here. The best feature about this hotel is the hospitality and the welcoming feeling we received when we arrived. I just want to say thank you for a very special trip and we can't wait to come back. Thanks again!!!!

Yelp
Surprise Your Senses This boutique Inn has the most customer service practices in place so you feel surrounded in luxury. Great staff anticipating your needs. The shabby chic decors is fresh, clean and crisp. There are top of the line product choices in the baths. Outside the beach area is private and the ocean's roar thunderously loud and simply gorgeous. Cannot wait to return and stay longer.

Katherine M.

Yelp
This place is a joke. We booked it because our flight was delayed and this was closest to the airport. We payed 650 bucks to basically just sleep there a few hours. I was excited for the private beach and when we went to ask for beach towels, they said they had 1 towel. What? We just payed 650 dollars... and you cannot give us 2 towels?! The rooms are muggy and there are more bugs on this side of the island so be ready for that. There is a nice restaurant nearby to the hotel for breakfast, but I did not try the actual hotel restaurant (prices were ridiculous).

Heidi S.

Yelp
Honestly, this is about double the cost of other places around. You pay for the hipster vibe, location and proximity to both beach and local shops. Paia is one of the coolest beach towns I've stayed, so what the heck. The bed was a full and felt extra firm like a futon. My hubs loved it. For me, a bit too firm. Although the room was small, it had a communal living room right outside our door with unlimited espresso bar, teas, and they keep everything clean and picked up. Our room fees included parking, beach chairs and towels. Since we really wanted to enjoy the beach town, this was a perfect choice for us. It is right across from Paia Fish Market and Nextdoor to delicious "pizzaria"/flatbread, along with a host of gift shops, Hawaiian ice, gelato, live music, just to name a few. I'm happy we did it, although it was pricey -- it was worth it for the experience this time.

Nh 2.

Yelp
For the right traveler, this is a great option. It is a little more dated than recent photos indicate, but the low key vibe is truly special. We even had a neighborhood cat visit our lanai each morning to say hello! Our one bedroom unit had a kitchen, living area, and large lanai - all of which were great. The areas were clean and inviting, although the windows were really dirty so the view was impaired. The kitchen was short a few utensils (only one teaspoon, as an example) and needs to be restocked. Also - We could not get local news on the TV, I don't think they had cable (although they had streaming services). We aways enjoy hearing about local events and news so this was a negative.

Charles R.

Yelp
This hotel is tucked into the little town of Paia. We stayed here our first night in Maui, so we could take the Haleakala Bike Tour the following morning. The rooms are basic. Our AC unit seemed to be malfunctioning.

Denise D.

Yelp
Stayed here several years ago and LOVED it, this time not so much. It's tired and in need of maintenance and upgrades. The pictures are from years ago. Vana was really good. Parking is super tight and someone hit our car, with security cameras everywhere, I was assured by staff I would be contacted with the person who hit us info. They never got back to me. So, with that and the deterioration of the inn, we won't be back.

Jess R.

Yelp
Staying at The Paia Inn , was such a pleasant experience. We traveled each coast of the island of Maui, and this hotel really gave a sense of relaxation, comfort and cleanliness. Our king room was very stylish and very comfortable. The Resturant downstairs was excellent and they deliver to the room.

Jai S.

Yelp
Lovely inn at the center of a vibrant, lively town near the ocean. The inn is very clean and comforting with an excellent restaurant - Vana Paia - right through the back. I highly recommend the restaurant as well which made a lovely last-night-dinner before I left Maui. Come visit. There is fun stuff going on in town almost every night if the week and the ocean is always beautiful. Thanks staff, for your help.

Adam B.

Yelp
Very cool, distinctive place to stay near the Maui airport in Kahului. First of all, just be aware that this is probably not the place you want to make home base for a week-long trip to Maui or anything. It makes an excellent lodge for one or two nights while you explore Paia, Haiku, and possibly the Road to Hana. But it's a small property and the rooms in the Inn itself are pretty tight. (They also act as a leasing agent for some beach homes on the back side of the Inn, which would probably be better for longer stays.) I stayed here my first night on Maui since it was close to the airport (about ten minutes away) and also about ten minutes from Mama's Fish House down the road. The Inn rooms are on the second floor around a common area with computer and couches. They're small, but very well thought-out, with comfortable beds, a mini fridge, dresser with several drawers, ceiling fan, glassware, and a white noise machine. Counter space is tight for toiletries, but the shower is an adequate size. The room has a great Hawaiian feel and rooms overlook the charming main block of Paia. There are six parking spaces out back (three tandem pairs) and more parking a short distance away. I never had trouble accessing a spot. I'll let you in on a little discovery I made--there's a rooftop area one level up from the guest rooms that has stunning sunrise views. I woke up early since my body clock was all confused and went exploring and found the stairs up to the top. From there, you can see Haleakala, the West Maui mountains, the ocean, and the town and watch the sun gradually light all of them. It was one of the magic moments of the trip. Across the street is the Paia Fish Market, where you should have lunch and get one of their charbroiled fish selections with the Cajun rice. It's a fun spot. Mana Foods is also neat to check out, and the galleries across from the Inn are also worth a stop. The staff members at the Inn are all wonderful and make you feel welcome and valued.

Ima T.

Yelp
Charming hotel in downtown Paia! Beware all restaurants and the gas station Minit Stop close at 9 so plan for an earlier arrival or bring your own food for late night snacking. Only a $20-30 cab ride to this beautiful beach town with the hotel having direct access to beach with a gorgeous beach lounge! 1 minute walk to delicious food and they have an on site sushi restaurant. Adorable swimsuits and nice gifts in lobby. Their beach house is so beautiful also, we will plan in that next time! Thank you Paia Inn for letting us rest our heads there on our last night.

Meg K.

Yelp
I could write a novel detailing all the things I loved about Paia Inn. I've never stayed somewhere so special, and I've never felt more heartbroken to leave a place. When I said I was going to Maui and spending 5 of my 6 nights in Paia, everyone looked at me like I was crazy. "Five nights in Paia? Oh you won't need that much time. One, maybe two is plenty." NO. Don't listen to these people! If you're coming through Paia on a power tour and want to cram in seeing as much of the island as possible, sure, you can "see" Paia in a day. But instead, I'd encourage you to book a lengthy stay at the Paia Inn to really experience the magic of this place instead of just checking it off your list. I wasn't bored for a minute of my stay and it was truly the most relaxing, magical vacation I've ever had. Every detail of Paia Inn is thoughtful: the hand crafted teak furniture in the rooms, the mirrors in the beach walk, the way the lights chosen for the breezeway clink together like wind chimes. Michael, the owner, has put so much care into the guest experience. When I was there, he was surveying various widths of wood strips to decorate a wall and deeply debating if they should be the same width all the way down or if it made more sense to the eye to have slightly wider pieces at the bottom? I mean, wow. I'm serious when I tell you every inch of this place has been carefully curated. I had the pleasure of staying in one of the short term stay accommodations, which came with its own little patio. I didn't even want to leave my patio for the beach-- until I saw the beach. The experience of walking through this little maze, not sure what you'll find, then emerging to this bursting vista of impossibly teal water and graham cracker sand. The Inn has beach towels and chairs for guests, so I set up on the beach under a palm tree (and pinched myself to make sure this was real life). The beach is nearly empty since it's private access, so it was mostly just me, and the two locals next door who came out every evening to fish. It was So. Peaceful. The beach was also a favorite spot for massive sea turtles. Surreal: Me and my book, ten yards away from two incredible sea turtles, all just hanging out together in the most beautiful place on earth. Watching the sun dip behind the west Maui mountains each night, I was so grateful for the beauty each day brought. I genuinely can't wait until I have another vacation so I can return to what feels like home.

Yelp
Overrated and management is spotty. While visiting this town we were told not to stay here. Was disappointing location. Disappointing options. Not worth the price. Lots of homeless in the area. Stay elsewhere.

Steve K.

Yelp
Great location (close to the airport and on the beach) and cute small feel. Route to the beach is a bit confusing and the neighbors are not pleasant about it. Restaurant looked amazing but was dark the days we stayed there unfortunately. Small town shopping and dining options are plentiful. Spa is no longer on-site due to Covid but recommended a place nearby that was perfect. Petite Room is a bit small even for a petite. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

William A.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. It deserves the good reviews. I think it's great for anyone, but for the right kind of traveler it will be magical. Staff (including owner), restaurant/bar, town, and the beach were perfect. We will be back.

Audrey W.

Yelp
What a lovely hotel! I can't say enough good about this place. It's charming and offers a lot of conveniences such as a hot/cold water dispenser near the coffee station and wonderfully smelling, full sized bottles of health and beauty products. But the best thing about this hotel is the staff. Everyone I interacted with, especially Melody and GM Chuy were kindness personified. I felt like a person, not a number. I enjoyed it while it lasted. My husband had to attend a conference so we moved to the Grand Wailea. I wish I could say we got good service there but they could take lessons from the folks at Paia Inn. I hope to return.

Diana R.

Yelp
The boutique inn was adorable and cute. Friendly staff and in a great location literally steps from their own private entrance to the beach and right in the heart of paia. BUT...not worth the price. The rooms are tiny, equivalent to my small bedroom at home. Free Beach rental equipment was not clean. Private beach access is great and all, but there's so many better beaches. It's a 3 star inn to put it plainly. Anywhere else you'd pay half the price. For about just $100 more we got a full suite 5x the size, a pool, and many other amenities when we stayed in Wailea. Unless you need to be in downtown paia, suggest staying elsewhere.

L C.

Yelp
Wow! We booked a night here last minute so we could explore Paia before our flight the next day, and I could not be happier that we did. There was some traffic on the way in, but the inn has some specially reserved parking spaces that helped streamline the check-in process. We arrived a couple hours early but were able to check-in with no problem! Paia Inn is like no other hotel i've stayed at before- there are apparently only a few (10?) rooms and the interior is a very hip setup. there's a communal space with a fridge and coffee, and an upstairs "lounge" area. There are a few bathrooms spread out and couches everywhere, and the space seems very clean. Our room was small but had space for our 2 suitcases and a few other bags. We were especially impressed by the fully tiled bathroom! but this may have been influenced by our unfortunate experience at our previous BnB guests are charged a nightly $15 amenity fee which we were initially annoyed by, but we actually ended up being really happy with the beach access provided through the hotel! there's a really nice space that connects directly to the beach, and we were able to eat a really peaceful dinner by the ocean. we even saw a couple of turtles close up, which was a highlight!! i'm so glad we booked a room here. I don't think it would be a good "base" for a longer vacation, but it's the perfect place to spend a couple days while you're in maui. be sure to stop by the paia fish market down the road!

Hana M.

Yelp
I'm sorry but this place is way over-priced & rated. Very disappointed by noise as every move people upstairs make with mosquitos, lizard and roaches roaming around the room...

Ray C.

Yelp
We stayed at the Paia Inn after a few days at the Sheraton at Kaanapali. We definitely got a more local vibe and charm staying in this town. A great starting point for Road to Hana. The hotel itself is pretty bare bones in regards to the layout and the rooms. We stayed in 2 city rooms, 2 and 4. Room 2 is super small and faces the main Hana Highway street so you definitely get the street noise (though it's not too bad, it's a small town, not Manhattan). Room 4 is much bigger and has a separate sitting room. There's apple tvs and cable in the rooms though our apple tv in room 2 didn't work. There's a small beach near by the property, maybe a 3-4 minute walk and was super cool. The restaurant wasn't open when we were there so no comment there. But the Paia Fish House is nearby and is awesome. Mana foods is close by for market goods. The front desk staff are very helpful and can lend you a picnic basket for the road to Hana. There's coffee and tea in the morning, though the coffee isn't always refilled. It's a bit pricey, especially as the rooms themselves are a bit worn down (some moldy looking spots in the bathroom). There was a random tripadvisor review posted on the wall in Room 4 (why do i need to see a review, since i'm already there?). But the beds themselves and linens are super comfortable, way more comfortable than at the Sheraton. There's a mini fridge in each room with expensive waters. I would definitely come stay again. It's probably one of the only spots to stay in Paia, and most likely the nicest. There's plenty to do around there and the front desk can give you good recommendations. The town is literally the best!!!

Skyellen B.

Yelp
This cute little hotel is in a great location. I loved starting my morning by walking down the little private bath to the beach where I could sit and watch the ocean and drink my coffee. What keeps me from giving it 5 stars was that I found the front desk staff to be a bit cool, and there really weren't any vegan options at the onsite restaurant or good mocktails either. It didn't feel like the staff was interested in trying to accommodate us on these. However the location was ideal and it met our needs for our stay.

Paper S.

Yelp
Had a wonderful stay here and an excellent breakfast! The owner Micheal was very kind and showed us his new project "Surf Club" which he is working on opening soon. Its a beautiful space with an amazing beach view. We look forward to coming back for a visit. Back to the delicious breakfast though. We had the Salmon sandwich and the Eggs Benedict. Bothe were mouth watering. Also the beach access is so quaint and delightful. Big thanks to Candy also who was super sweet and accommodating. Definitely coming back sometime soon ;)

Orun B.

Yelp
Really charming little Inn in Paia, so you're close to Kahului and the airport, but also fairly centrally located. Direct access to the beach and nice rooms (albeit there aren't a lot of them) with good A/C. Quality, clean and while not inexpensive in itself, a lot cheaper than most of the other options on the island.

Michelle B.

Yelp
Arrived in Maui a night before our condo would be ready so we decided to spend a night in Paia. So glad we did! This hotel is small and quaint. The garden rooms are private and secluded. We upgraded to a larger room based on reviews and found it to be one of the finest hotels we have ever stayed. A beautiful room with a large comfortable bed. The bathroom was incredible. Steps to the beach, though the step down could be concerning. Parking was easy. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating to all request. Great location to check out the town.

Yelp
We were super excited for our stay at Paia Inn, given the rave reviews and glamour shots. Upon check in, however, we were a bit disappointed with the accommodations. Our room was tiny, with no closet and a sink in the bedroom since the bathroom was too small. We could barely fit our suitcases on the floor between the bed and the wall. The Inn itself is fine, but again, lacking in comforts that you'd expect for $300/night. Though the staff were all lovely and helpful, it sort of felt like this place is "playing" hotel, without standard amenities and services - everything felt a little makeshift. I think we would have been pleased with our experience at half the price we paid, but ultimately, a 100sqft room above a busy road wasn't worth what we paid.

Yelp
Frankly this place is about 50% overpriced for what you get. I stayed here on my honeymoon and they put us in a bedroom without any windows in. Who does that? Parking is tight immediately outside and inconveniently located off property, the rooms were drab looking, (again) no windows, poorly layed out and not even close to the standard they should be. Including the shared amenities and outdoor equipment, everything reminded me of that youth hostel I stayed in 10 years ago or frankly shouldn't be there (the beach equipment was ew) On our trip we paid about 25% ($100) a night more in Wailea for a real high end experience, similar to what is offered here - we got so much more.

Yelp
I had booked this for our 10th year anniversary in March 2020. Unfortunately it canceled due to COVID-19. They couldn't refund but they gave us credit (never expire) for a night but later on I called to rebook it for this month (July 2022) the price skyrocketed. (3 times the price) They agreed to go ahead giving me a room what I had paid for even though there was some misunderstandings. Besides all that - The check in was breezy, the room was small and tiny but beautiful and very clean. It had an access to the beach in the back. It was a beautiful stay.

Yelp
Unless you are booking a garden or ocean room, I wouldn't recommend staying here. We booked a standard room (which was NOT cheap by any means) and it was a glorified hostel feel at best. Our room was one of two rooms facing the street, which is one of the busiest streets on the island and I'm a super light sleeper--woke up to construction trucks and cars blasting music through out the night. We did not come to Maui for that. We were unable to control our own air and sleeping with the windows open was not an option because of noise. AND this hotel knew it was our honeymoon-yet they put us in the worst location. The rooms were clean, I'll give it that but there is very limited (non-existent for us) parking and it was super stressful to navigate with the staff coming back from our dinner at mamas. For me, this place is absolutely not worth the money and while I love Paia, next time I'm in Maui I'll be staying else where for a little more money and enjoying Paia for the day. Also, the beach at the back of the hotel is nice but super unsafe access--not hard to fix and make more safe lol. Would not recommend this place unless you are a boutique hotel enthusiast.

Yelp
So, we were on our plane just about to take off (5 hours earlier time difference)...it's about 10am Maui time and it's the Paia Inn extending their apologies for an unforeseen city Road building project right outside our scheduled room that they had just heard from the city that was going to happen that evening. They were very apologetic and understood if we needed to reschedule or however we chose to handle it. We decided to continue our reservation and when we arrived(they stayed up after 10:15pm for us) they were very accommodating and provided earplugs and were very apologetic. We really do feel they did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible and it was an adorable swanky charming Inn with every amenity you could think of! Upper end body/shower products in our room, beach accessories, and just all the amenities from upper end hotels etc. They provided complimentary breakfast the following morning and it was absolutely incredible! Crabcake Benedict with sliced avocado on top with delicious seasoned potatoes on the side. We had just gotten back from a walk on the gorgeous beach just prior that was just a short walk off the back door...it was just perfect for our first morning in Maui! Paia Inn, We can't wait for our next visit!

Yelp
The best Customer Service my husband and I have ever had. We arrived with one of my favorite bottles of wine in our room with a welcome note. We got a bigger room on the street and it was very nice. Very comfortable bed, cute decor. My only complaint was the street noise that woke me up in the night. I'm a very light sleeper but my husband never heard the noise. We plan on coming back and getting a room closer to the beach. But again the ladies that work there are beyond kind, genuine and very down to earth. We can't wait to come back next year.

Yelp
HELLO YELP. my review was removed. and it wasn't even in the "filter". that upsets me. i don't think i gave a bad review. the service was very good. but the hotel room was very very small. is that why my review got removed?!?!? i wrote a good review...and now it's gone. what's the point in spending time and energy to review places if it's going to be removed?!? seriously. i'm noticing that another review has mysteriously disappeared also... why? why? that was a good review!! i said good things...WTH. from what i can remember, the room is VERY VERY SMALL. there was literally 2-3 feet from the bed to the wall. the sink is in the room so you have to come out of the bathroom to wash your hands. the staff is friendly and helpful...moreso that other places. however, i feel like i'm the only one who will say this... they have limited parking. if you park in their small spaces, you need to leave your keys in case someone else needs to get their car out. it is not a 24 hour service desk. i remember coming back to the hotel at night glad that we found parking elsewhere cuz basically, they LEAVE YOUR KEYS OUT IN THE OPEN. surprised that no one's car has been stolen. you could easily take a set of keys and drive off. no one would know about it until the owner of the car asks the staff the next morning about the keys. car theft waiting to happen...

Yelp
**BEST BOUTIQUE HOTEL IN PAIA** Paia was such an ideal beach town. Hawt surfer babes, fantastic cafes, and a clean and isolated beach. We had an early check-in at noon (instead of 3PM), thanks to Nina, one of the best hotel staff members we have ever encountered. She personally showed us the private beach access and made sure we were happy with our stay. She also answered all of our questions regarding nearby activities. LOVED her. We opted for a Junior Suite, room #10, a beautiful beach bungalow room with modern amenities and Hawaiian accents. LIKES: *Continental Breakfast *Gym membership to Upcountry Fitness (free yoga and pilate classes there) *Free Wi-Fi (excellent signal) *Free use of snorkel equipment, boogie boards, lawn chairs, etc. *Private Beach Access (most excellent) *Free Ice Chests *Free Parking *Big flat screen tv :) *Fantastic customer service (went above and beyond for my bday) DISLIKES: *A bit pricey ($300+ a night for the Junior Suite), but oh so worth it *Mosquitoes (bring some repellent) *Electricity went out on us 3x (but the front desk responded promptly) We absolutely loved this hotel. Best place we've stayed so far on Maui. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Yelp
Wonderful experience! We stayed many places for our wedding and honeymoon on Maui. No complaints with any, but definitely would make sure Paia Inn is the one we'd come back to. Gorgeous location and property! We were really happy with the restaurant too. We had cocktails one night and breakfast the next morning.

Yelp
We had booked the Paia Inn for our second Honeymoon trip to Maui, but Alas due to the virus we had to cancel our trip. Even though we asked to cancel our reservation within the required time frame outlined on their website, they advised us that we would not be getting a refund. Every other Hotel & lodging accomations we had made for our trip refunded us & empathised with us, NOT THE PAIA INN. I can't beleive that they would take advantage of us during this time of crisis. Needless to say we will not be rebooking here when we do evnetually make it out to Maui. Shame on these people, spend your money somewhere else.

Yelp
My mom and I stayed at Paia Inn for two nights and absolutely loved it! Initially we had a smaller room booked but I guess because of the ongoing construction and noise, they upgraded us to a bigger room so that we wouldn't have to deal with the noise. The room was amazing. Very clean and modern, updated and stylish. I loved the bathroom. The room comes with a kitchenette so you can cook if you want to. The staffs are very nice and they showed us around the property, explained and left us a note in the room with a bottle of white wine. You have a private access to the beach in the back and they have all the beach gears for you. They have a parking lot located near the hotel literally like 15 steps away. It if a little pricier and all but I think this place beats anywhere else around.

Yelp
This is the place. Low key, very helpful people working here that took great care of us on our honeymoon. Such a clean and friendly place. Not the Ritz but it is very tastefully decorated and has all you could need for a nice restful visit. We saw turtles sunning themselves on the beach three days in a row. Also has a very good Cafe on site and right in the middle of the cute town of Paia. Centrally located and a 10 minute drive from the airport (OGG). They say they are a three star property but I feel they deserve 5 stars and earn it daily.

Yelp
The Paia Inn is where it's AT- SO CUTE, right in the middle of downtown Paia which is the cutest little surfer town ever and a must-see. The Inn itself was such a gem - we checked in a little early and while our room wasn't quite ready we were able to drop our luggage with the sweet ladies at reception and park our car so we could get exploring. The ladies upgraded from a room with a Queen sized bed to one with a King sized bed and a town view with a little more space than we originally bargained for which was so appreciated. The ladies that run the Inn are amazing and had the best recommendations in town (Cafe de Amis for Lilikoi Margaritas, A MUST) - genuine service really goes a long way. The Inn itself is an architectural boutique paradise- it is so well laid out and smart- a complex with not only an Inn but private beach houses, well crafted walkways, and a perfect color palette. The beach that is on the property is gorgeous- soothing waves, white sand, and generally empty as it is only accessible thru private entry (including one at the Inn). The Inn has beach towels, chairs, boogie boards- all you could need to make your beach experience ideal. We cancelled our dinner reservation while we there just to watch the sunset and see the sea turtles come onto the beach after bobbing around for hours near the rocks- so sweet and special. We also had breakfast at the Paia Inn Cafe which was super cute and yummy- definitely recommend. We started the trip to Hana from Paia Inn and it was so nice to already be a leg up on lots of travelers. Our biggest regret is that we didn't book more time at the Paia Inn- one night did not cut it!

Yelp
Paia Inn was absolutely grotesque. Two thumbs down. The walls were filthy, the door had so many handprints and dirt smudges you could barely see the paint near the handle through the grime. Our room smelled of urine. The blinds were also very dirty, so dirty our hands became dirty after trying to fix them as they were tangled and somewhat broken. The blinds in the shower were also broken and could not close at all, the shower curtain was about a foot too long making it drag in the water - that too was filthy and grime covered. The Front Desk person told us it hadn't been broken into recently but had many times before. She also told us to watch out for the homeless/drug addict who sleep in the parking lot where we were told was the Paia Inn Parking lot and to make sure we locked the door because they will also come to the back unit to loiter. We stayed in the back unit so it was a bit odd she put us there. When I mentioned the filth to the morning desk person he rolled his eyes and said "how much discount do you want, this happens all the time". He wasn't friendly even when I told him we don't need a discount as we just wanted to leave. He told me he would tell the owner/manager but we never heard from him after that. Overall, we paid $1000.00 for one night. It was absolutely not worth it. I would say most definitely stay somewhere else especially for the price they are asking. I never like to write reviews but will gladly this time. We do not recommend staying here at all.

Yelp
So much to say about this cute little bed and breakfast. The rooms are so cute and the beach is so beautiful. We will definitely be back and will be getting a bigger room so we can bring back family. I will never stay at a resort again, the staff here are all so sweet and the owner is so nice and gave us lots of places to check out . They also have a place to eat right downstairs and I will say it's the best meal we had. The breakfast was so yummy and the servers were so friendly. Guess from my review you know you have to try this place.

Yelp
Overprice boutique hotel. We were in room 2, which was beyond small. No where to open suitcases or sit down, get dressed without bumping into furniture. Shower small and not a pleasure to use. Couldn't control AC in the room. Things were pretty but not functional. Shower leaked onto bathroom floor because curtain didn't go to floor. For the money I'd rather try another place. The good points were they had a beach, chairs/towels/boogie boards to borrow for free.

Yelp
A gem of a place! The vibe is great, really trendy. Staff were nice, the restaurant they have is fab and I also really liked the surf shack they own down the street. Good location too!

Yelp
Beautiful inn. Staying in room 5. Perfect for single traveler. Fantastic front desk, great service. This is not a chain type hotel, this is a very upscale secluded inn private beach, several lounge areas, lots of privacy. I will definitely stay here next time I'm in Maui. So much cozier than the other, busier side of the island.

Yelp
We spent 4 nights here on our honeymoon after a resort in Wailea and a VRBO in Lahaina. It was lovely and exactly what we'd expected-- a modest, clean, hospitable, conveniently located inn with good beach access. The rooms are on the smaller side and not all have views, but they are well equipped and cozy, the bed is comfortable, and there are plenty of thoughtful details (like a mini fridge, high quality toiletries, massages available on site, a good restaurant, fresh fruit (lilikoi) and coffee and tea readily available). They allowed us to rent a Day Room for the last part of our visit so that we could maximize our time before a 10 pm flight, and were very helpful with baggage and such. The only hitch is that the Wi-Fi was down the entire time, making it impossible to use the Apple TV, but we were on vacation so really didn't care. Enjoy that private beach with plenty of surfing to watch and even the occasional hanu!
