The Best Korean Restaurants in Santa Clara | Eater SF

"Also known as Hong Kong Banjum, this Korean chain, connected to the celebrity chef Jong-Won Baek, is known for its tasty versions of jajangmyeon (thick, chewy noodles in black bean sauce), jjampong (a spicy noodle soup), and other Korean-Chinese dishes, all served up lightning fast and at a reasonable price. Slick branding notwithstanding, this is pure comfort food. Make sure to get some gun-mandu (pan-fried dumplings) with your order — they’re especially good here." - Luke Tsai

Google
This is a decent restaurant that meets expectations. Jajangmyun was a little too sweet and they most likely used machines to make their noodles (as opposed to making their own). However, this isn’t a place where you dine to get the best Korean Chinese dishes. Their prices are highly competitive and you get exactly that. Fast service, adequate quality food and smaller portions. It’s an attractive place to dine for a value play.

Google
This is one of my favorite spots for Korean noodles. The menu is simple and clear, so it’s easy to decide what to order without overthinking. The noodles are always on point, and the service is consistently friendly and attentive. The only downside is the parking situation. Half of the parking lot is shared with the laundry next door, which can make finding a spot tricky, especially during busy hours. It's a minor inconvenience, but it can be a bit annoying. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone craving Korean noodles.

Google
Really enjoyed the jajangmyeon here! Probably the best jajangmyeon I’ve tried in the States! The portion size is generous for the price, and the flavors are spot on. The black bean sauce is lighter than the traditional version, which I actually prefer—it feels less heavy but still very flavorful. The noodles have a great chewy texture, just the way they should be. Meat is tender and flavourful as well! The sweet and sour pork was crispy and served in a very generous portion. The jjamppong and Gunmandu (deep fried pork dumplings) were a hit and miss.

Google
Talk about a small menu! If these types of Korean noodle soup are what you wanna eat, you're in luck - they'll good, especially the spicy noodles! But just know there isn't much else going on. Still, we enjoyed thede noodles.

Honestly we dropped right in, got a table, were served and on our merry way with our bellies full. One entree is more than enough for two! Definitely will be back to try out more dishes, but a great affordable lunch to split!

Google
Affordable and delectable. Been here about three times and every time has been great! Noodles are a treat. Love love the jjajameyeon and Mayo shrimp. However, I highly do NOT recommend the tang syuk (sweet and sour pork), it lacks depth and flavor. But I recommend coming here if you're in the area. Parking is tough to find most days but if you find parking, come eat.

Came here for lunchtime and waited about 10 mins on Saturday. Free parking, but not easy to find the parking spots during weekends. Of course will be come back to try other dishes on their menu next time.

Very hectic place so expect a wait in line. Service was wonderful and friendly despite the craziness. Loved the food especially the creamy shrimp. It was to die for.

Yelp
Paik's Noodle - My Go-To for Jia Jang Myeon and Crispy Shrimp I freakin' love this place. Ever since the jiajangmyeon spot on Stevens Creek closed and HMart's food court stopped serving it, I didn't know where to go for my fix. Then DoorDash led me to Paik's Noodle, and it was a total game changer. I had it delivered to my Korean hair perm appointment just three minutes away. For $15, the portion was impressively large and absolutely delicious. They were also super generous with the pickled radish, which I appreciated. Since that first experience, I've visited the restaurant three times. I always order the jia jang myeon and the crispy shrimp, which tastes just like honey walnut shrimp--except it's a huge portion for only $20ish. Such a great value. On top of that, the staff is always kind and welcoming. I'm so excited they're expanding to South San Jose soon. This place is a gem.

Yelp
I've been to Paik's Noodle a few times and I noticed that the taste of the jajangmyeon can vary. Sometimes it's a bit bland and watery but other times it has a perfect balance of flavor in the sauce. This time, it was average. Not the worst nor the best that I've had. This location is definitely better than the Dublin location though. I also miss the cucumbers. They used to give cucumbers instead of peas. Parking in this plaza is also not the best. There's limited parking due to the laundromat next door, but you can park on the street.

Yelp
Blazing fast service, great taste, cheap prices, large portions. Lot to like about this place. The wait wasn't even that bad either -- there were only two small parties ahead of us and we were seated within 5 minutes. Love this place for a nice quick and hearty bowl of noodles! Pickled radish is provided at the table and is a great palate cleanser afterward since some of the dishes can be a bit on the oily side.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon with a friend. Although there was a short wait, it went by quickly. Once we were seated, our food arrived quickly after ordering. We ended up ordering the Tangsuyuk and the stir-fried noodles with shrimp. The Tangsuyuk was perfectly fried, and the sweet sauce on the side went nicely with the fried pork. The noodles were chewy and flavorful, and the shrimp in it was delicious. The inside of the restaurant was also nice and vibrant! Overall, the staff were friendly, service was quick, and everything tasted really great. I would highly recommend, especially if you're in the mood for noodles and fried pork!

Yelp
Probably like a lot of other people, we saw Chef Paik on Netflix and then had to try this spot. Honestly, it's really good for a casual chain spot. We're not super educated or familiar with these Korean dishes, so not a lot to compare to. But we tried the signature dish Jajangmyeon with extra pork. We attempted to order the spicy version, and the server warned us that it is VERY spicy (even for Koreans, and even if you love spicy food). So he offered to bring the spices on the side and we're glad he did- because it was REALLY spicy. But I liked it and added some to the dish...but would recommend this option if you aren't familiar with it. Noodles were great texture, pork was tender, and the sauce was delicious. Very rich and large portion size- you can def share. We also tried the chili shrimp which were good but not as flavorful as the noodles. Def will be back.

Yelp
Located on El Camino, parking spaces are limited and difficult to find. The interior has plenty of seating. During peak hours, you can most definitely expect a wait. Jajangmyeon (5/5): so delicious. The noodles had the perfect texture. They were chewy but also not too firm or soft. The flavor was impeccable. Food came shockingly quickly. Tap to pay is accepted. Overall, Paik's Noodle is an awesome place for some delicious korean noodles. I would come back.

Yelp
I love this place. It's been a while since I last ate here because it's a little out of the way for me but the food is always excellent. The service is also top notch, so efficient and polite. My go-to will also be the Jaengban-Jjajang. It's soo good! Highly recommend but it is a bit spicy. It used to be a lot more spicy but I think they toned it down in recent years. The only bad thing about this place is the parking. We used to be able to park in the back area but now there are signs that say "No parking for Paik's customers." Luckily, when I went, there weren't too many people and I was able to get a parking spot. Most people order to-go because of the limited parking so just wait a bit and someone will leave. Three cars left right after I parked my car in the only available spot I saw. There was a paper waitlist at the entrance and they call out your name when your table is ready. I only had to wait 10 minutes for a party of 3 on Saturday evening around 6:30pm. If you haven't tried this place, it's a worth a visit.

Yelp
Came by for lunch - arrived just at opening because I know how busy this place can get. Restaurant is in a small plaza with limited parking. There is street parking available nearby though. Got three items: Jjampong, Tangsuyuk and Bokkeumyeon. Jjampong- broth was delicous, spiciness just right and noodles cooked perfectly Tangsuyuk- delicious fresh out of the kitchen, pork was crispy and sauce on point Bokkeumyeon- noodles tasted fresh and bouncy, sauce tasted more chinese style imo but still delicious. Price a bit up there. Service friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Basically, there's two places I recommend Jajangmyeon in the South Bay: This place, and Beijing Restaurant in Santa Clara. I used to come here after work several years ago, and during a time where they had a different name? Not sure if they got bought out or just renamed. Apparently this is a well known chain, and the owner/CEO was featured in some Korean Netflix culinary show? If you never had Jajangmyeon, it's black bean noodles. The black bean sauce is very savory, doesn't really taste much like black beans in the traditional/western style use of black beans. Their noodles are great. I have a feeling it's a nice mixture of egg/flour/tapioca starch because it's firm but still bouncy chewy as well. The restaurant setting is nice, menu is simplistic, and service is great. Overall the food is really good, noodles are al dente/QQ, but negative stars because there was some charcoal sendiment left in the food and the parking situation massively sucks. You may as well skip trying to find parking in the parking lot and go right to the residential area next door instead.

Yelp
DoorDash order, so only comment on the food. We tried a lot more dishes because there's a bigger group. I love the noodle as they are chewy but cooked to perfection in texture! The jajang is also nicely made and can be a bits picky to have a kick in it. The one going into omelette rice dish is not spicy. The fried shrimp and fried pork are also nice, I'm not into the sauce though but the sauce is flavorful. So overall good food.

Yelp
First time having fresh black bean noodles and it was not a disappointment. The price and the amount they give is definitely worth it! The noodle texture is soft but not to the point that it was overcooked. The sauce itself was not salty whatsoever, it was paired nicely with the daikon on the side. A little crunch with a mixture of sweet and savory. This is worth it for $10! The fried dumplings is your typical gyoza. It was fried all the way with a nice crunch every bite. The seafood noodle was new to me as well. Although it was different, it was still yummy! Nothing was overly salted and the amount of toppings and meat they give was very generous. Overall Paik's is worth it and I would recommend going early to beat the lines. The service is fast and attentive. A restaurant worth your buck!

Yelp
This is my second time trying this restaurant. At least I gave it a second chance. I wish it had more flavor especially for Korean a restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Flavor explosion is all I have to say! The food came out so fast and everything was delicious. The noodles, the omelette and the soup. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Came here without knowing it's the Chef from the Korean black versus white chef Netflix show. The black bean noodles are the main dish here and are very good. Chewy and the right texture. The sauce is good with the onions and pork. I like that you can add white vinegar if you like it more sour. The pickled radish is as very good and the server gave us more without us asking. Food came out really super fast and the service was friendly and good. Nice air conditioning for a hot July 4th holiday too. Business was bustling. Kid friendly spot.

Yelp
Just Noodling Around One of 29 US locations** for famed Korean chef and entrepreneur Jong-Won Paik that's been in business for nearly ten years (ca. 2016). I first visited back in 2017, and was impressed but haven't returned since, as most restaurants get lost in the shuffle once I've visited them once. It wasn't until we recently watched the Korean cooking competition "Culinary Class Wars" (Netflix), where Chef Paik served as a judge, that my desire to visit Chef Paik's restaurant was renewed, as I didn't really know much about him on my first visit. The Good: *Menu had expanded since my first visit, but not by much. They still keep it pretty simple, which is a bonus in my book. *Complimentary pickled Daikon radish were delicious. They're probably not for everyone, but if you like funky, sweet pickled things then they'll be your jam. *The Jajangmyeon (noodles w/ fermented black bean sauce w/ pork & veggies) is probably our favorite dish here, as we ordered it on both our visits. It starts out a little funky but it's definitely one of those dishes that the more you eat, the more you want. *Prices are fantastic, as the large Jajangmyeon was $15 and plenty of food for two people. *Chili Shrimp were tasty and had a nice sweet-chili sauce that could've used more heat imo. Otherwise, they were quite tasty. *The Tangsuyuk (sweet & sour pork), which we ordered on our first visit, was delicious and seemed like a very popular dish at neighboring tables. The crisp rice flour coating is pretty phenomenal, if memory serves. *Service was friendly and fast The Meh: *Fried dumplings were a touch dry for my liking and needed a sauce. *Stir-fried Noodle dish was a bit too fishy for my son's liking, and I have to say I kinda agreed. It must be the type/brand of oyster sauce they use that's just a bit too heavy-handed with the funk. *As usual, we're always the only non-Asians at these places. Kinda sad that so many people are missing out on great food because it's "different." ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Ugly: *Parking is real mayhem if you arrive around the busy periods. They have a shared lot with several other businesses, including a laundromat, which claims several spots for their customers only. The surrounding neighbor lots have signs specifically forbidding Paik's customer parking, so you can take your chances there. There is some street parking, which is how we lucked out. Conclusion: Good Korean-Chinese food with speedy service and a great price point. **There's eight more slated to me opened this year (2025), including one in South SJ!

Yelp
Paik's noodles lives up to the hype !! Came on a Friday night so there was a little bit of a wait (maybe 20 minutes?) they let you look at a menu beforehand so you know what the order as soon as you sit down! As soon as you're seated, order is taken and in about less than 10 minutes, your food is ready to serve: hot and steamy ! The black bean noodles were delicious and were just the right amount of jajang sauce ( I love mine hella saucy ) I love that the sweet and sour pork is also separate from the sauce so the sauce doesn't make the pork soggy!! The pork was delish and airy. Paired with the sauce it was to die for! Only thing I would change is I wish I got cucumber on top of my black bean noodles! Would've loved to have that extra crunch. The place itself is tiny and compacted but clean and busy! I love seeing people converse and eat good food!

Yelp
Their jajang bap is the best in the bay and probably their best dish. We used to get the myeon and the seafood jampong, but the rice in the jajang bap really is able to absorb all the flavours of the sauce and the egg is amazing. We also love the sweet and sour pork - it's a must get! We tried the new cream shrimp they had, but wasn't really impressed, so I wouldn't recommend that. This location is often very busy so be prepared to wait around 20 minutes to get a seat! Staff is great and very friendly!

Yelp
Yuuuumm was craving some Korean Chinese after watching my fav mukbanger eat this so needed to come here for dinner! There was pleasantly no wait around 7:20pm Wed but when we finished a line formed and the place was packed. Ordered the jjajang & tang su yuk to share with the small soup of Jjangpong. I love that the have the small bowl bc the actual noodle soup is too much for me. The jjajang was delicious and fresh, the pork tang su yuk came out so quickly with it and all just fried hot and fresh. I love the sauce with all the veggies inside. The soup is nice and spicy and adds good kick and flavor. Service was so quick and ample napkins and surprisingly our bill was $35 which is very good these days with inflated restaurant prices. Really enjoyed our meal and will def be back soon.

Yelp
I can't believe it took me 5+ years to finally try this place! My friends and I tried to go many years ago but the parking was so bad and the line was long that we ate somewhere else. After that I never tried again. Also I was scared of jajangmyeon after trying champaghetti instant noodles. We came here an hour before closing on a weekday and luckily there was a couple parking spots and few tables opened. We ordered jajangmyeon, sweet & sour pork, jjamppong, and fried dumplings. Standouts were definitely the noodles, pork, and soup! Absolutely blew my expectations out of the water and can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Anna H.

Yelp
My friend didn't like how sweet everything was but the tangsuyuk was so perfectly crispy even if it was a little saucy, but thankfully the sauce came on the side. Noodles were chewy and not as salty as I expected. There was a bit of a wait to get inside, though.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for years, so I'm glad I was finally able to try it out! My party came on a Thursday evening for dinner, and it was still quite busy. Service was fast and simple. The Stir-fried Jjajangmyeon was definitely the highlight for me. The jjajangmyeon being stir-fried added a nice smokey, wok hei flavor! The chili shrimp was sweet and savory, and the jjamppong was savory and had a nice seafood flavor. The noodles on both the jjangmyeon and jjampong had a really nice texture as well! The fried mandu was okay, but it definitely did not stand out compared to the other items tried. Overall, quick service and yummy food! The only downside we experienced was the lack of parking. We had such a hard time finding parking in the little plaza Paik's Noodles is situated in.

Emily W.

Yelp
Yummy Korean spot! We got there around ~12:30pm on a Saturday and there were 4 parties in front of us, but everyone got seated quite fast. We only waited 15-20min. We ordered the jjajangmyeon and the tangsuyuk (sweet & sour pork) to share between 2 people, and they also give you free radishes as a side dish. Noodles were chewy and savory and the pork was hot, fresh, and crispy. Jjajangmyeon is also a great price ($10.95)! Atmosphere is also quite nice, friendly workers, and they play K-pop inside!

Yelp
I'm rarely in the San Jose area, but we were craving some well-known Asian food and found Paik's Noodle. I totally missed that this was THE korean chef Baek Jong-won's restaurant. Located in a small plaza slightly passed the corner of the block on the far inside. Tons of ppl lined up outside and a very tiny parking lot. We ordered the jjajangmyeon and jjampong to-go, food ready in 20min. After 1hr+ drive, the noodles were still chewy and warm. The packaging places the noodles on the bottom and the sauces are separated on top, then the radishes are on the side. HUGE portions! ** The jjajangmyeon was sweeter than the Chinese style "zha jiang mian" and had a slightly burnt flavor. The noodles were so chewy, almost with an udon-like texture, but slightly thinner. 100% recommend ** The jjampong was flavorful and had a strong seafood flavor. It wasn't spicy at all! Also 100% recommend. I think the same noodles were used. Also 100% recommend. Definitely recommend for a Korean-Chinese classic, I wish there was one closer as the soup base and noodles were so high quality. Wasn't too salty or too sweet and didn't feel oily or MSG heavy. Plan ahead for parking! PRO TIP: do NOT park in the neighboring lot separated by the fence, it's apparently notorious for Paik's customers improperly using it. Since we opted for takeout, our order was ready in under 20 minutes.

Yelp
Paik's is always absolutely fire. Their jjajiangmian is delicious, had huge portions, and is super affordable!

Yelp
I love coming here for their consistent top quality food and amazing service. I'll start off by saying that their noodles are homemade and have amazing texture; you know it's homemade when they give you scissors to eat with. Their jajang is just phenomenal. Anything you order that has either the jajang or their noodles is amazing, and it's basically their entire menu! Their Jajangbap - sauce is amazing, omelette is always perfectly made and fluffy. Such a simple yet so delicious dish. Jaengban Jajang here is so addicting. I love that I can customize my spice level with this dish because my tolerance of spice is low even though I love this dish spicy! Always filled with the breadth of wok with plenty of seafood and pork! Cream Saeu - Paik's Noodle's take on Honey Walnut Shrimp, but made much better and more addicting!? The shrimp is always fresh and crispy crunchy, the creaminess is perfect; it's sweet and vinegary with the shrimps placed on top of a bed of lettuce soaked with the mayo sauce. Nothing gets left from the plate of cream saeu! I'd take the sauce home even if I didn't feel awkward about that. The service here is super friendly. We couldn't finish our meal this time and had some pickled radish left... I wanted to pack home the remaining radish so nothing is wasted and the server actually packed my togo container full with additional radish! Much appreciation for the staff and consistent quality/service here over the years. I'll keep coming back :)

Yelp
Excellent portion sizes and prices! It is super affordable. One regular bowl of Jajangmyeon is so filling and can be shared if you want to order a second entree. Their Sweet and Sour Pork was delicious and flavorful. The batter was definitely crispy and did not taste oily. They also do not put the sauce in so you have the option to mix it or use it as a dipping sauce. Service was so-so, seating is a little cramp but with how affordable it is, I can live with it.
google avatar

Alfred L.

Yelp
We ordered the stir-fried jajangmyeon, fried dumplings, and sweet and sour pork. The dumplings were the first to arrive and they were c.o.l.d. Not even room temperature, but colder than that. It's as if they served us an order that was made on accident and just left sitting on the counter. This put me in a bad mood and affected how I viewed the rest of the dishes. Despite serving the sauce separately, the sweet and sour pork wasn't crispy at all, it was more chewy than anything else. The sauce was alright. Not sure why everyone is raving about it, I've had better from the frozen aisle at the grocery store. Jajangmyeon was nothing special either. Just a nice carbo-loading dish.
google avatar

Mai S.

Yelp
If you're craving for Korean Chinese food, this would be great choice. Reasonably priced and fast service, but it was very busy on weekday lunch so might be long wait on weekend. Regular size is a bit small to fill you up for jajangmyeon so recommend ordering large if not ordering anything else. Noodle is nice and chewy, cooked fresh. The flavor is also good. We also ordered fried pork with sweet and sour sauce, but sauce was like sugar sauce. Not sour/savory at all.. It was disappointing cuz pork was crispy and good but sauce ruined the flavor.. overall good cheap food, but always busy and hard to find parking. So it's a hassle to dine in here. I would p order to go if I wanted to come again.
google avatar

Vanny K.

Yelp
Love the noodles at this place! One of the best - perfect chewy texture! The Jjamppong / Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup was delicious and with generous ingredients. The Jajangmyeon / Blackbean Sauce Noodle sauce was well-balanced, not too sweet like some other places. Staff was very efficient, and we didn't have too long for our food. A great spot when craving good noodles! Parking would be a little challenging, but you may be able to park your car in the next property lot. Just read the signs. People are in/out quickly, so dont get discouraged by the long line.
google avatar

Eunice T.

Yelp
Very solid place if you are hungry. Large portions at affordable pricing point. They're known for their noodle, but I was in the mood for something new so I ordered the rice dish. I did not like their rice (the egg was good, sauce was good, but rice could be better). Their noodle texture is much better than the rice. There's always a wait whenever I visited. The last time I came before this most recent visit was at least 5 years ago though. The parking lot is kinda small considering the traffic they bring in, but there are other parking lots in walking distance.

Yelp
Paik's is my go-to place for Korean food! Not only is it cheap, but serving sizes are always perfect to share! My partner and I love their spicy jaengban jajang and their tangsuyuk! You can definitely share this with 2 people. Maybe three if you add an additional order of noodles or even dumplings! The jaengban jajang isn't so spicy, and has a good blend of veggies and seafood~ I just like how each noodle is coated in sauce and has a good chew. I don't know how they make their noodles, but I'd totally come back just to buy their noodles to eat. It's so chewy and tasty lol. As for the tangsuyuk, it reminds me of popcorn chicken, but pork form and is nice and chewy with a tangy sweet and sour sauce. Definitely not healthy, but the addition of cabbage and carrots in the sauce makes me feel *slightly* less guilty for getting this indulgent dish. Service is always incredibly fast here! Servers are attentive when water cups are low and food comes out piping hot, always. No matter rush hour or slow days. As far as ambiance goes, you'll see folks of all ages. Young folks who crave a good cheap eat and then business ahjussis and sweet ahjummas treating their grandchildren and kids to a meal. Paik's is definitely worth a try if you want to get good Korean food!
google avatar

Jess N.

Yelp
This restaurant is always crowded, at least on the weekend! We went for a late lunch around 2pm and still had to wait around 30 mins for a table. Food is solid as always, though prices definitely have been increased over the years due to inflation. My goto's are the spicy seafood noodles and the black bean noodles. We also tried the fried shrimp in sweet and sour sauce this past time and enjoyed it! Portion was huge, and it got a bit heavy at the end but still glad we tried it. We liked it better than the fried pork here.
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
When I think of jajangmyeon, I always picture Paik's Noodle. Been coming here for years and there's always a wait for a reason. Their noodles are great, dishes are generously portioned, and it's affordable. My go-to order is the jajangmyeon. They give a lot of noodles so the bowl is already super filling by itself. I really enjoy the texture and bounce of the noodles! You can also customize your bowl with the sauces and spices at your table. The stir-fried black bean noodle (jaengban-jjajang) is also a great option if you're looking to share with 2-3 others. Their fried pork with sweet & sour sauce (tangsuyuk) is also a crowd favorite. The pork is super crispy and you have the option to ask for the sauce on the side if the mix is too sweet and/or saucy for your liking. Despite the wait, our dishes came out immediately after we placed our order. Service was quick and efficient too.

Yelp
Great food and fast service. Portion sizes are great for the price. The stir fry was one of my favorites

Yelp
I've tried this place a couple times now, they always have really big portions and I feel the dishes are better for sharing! Food(3/5): their food is good, I wouldn't wait if there was a long wait list but if the line isn't too long then it's good to get a quick bite. Their Jjamppong is good but I wasn't a big fan of the meat jajangmyeon, it has more onions than even noodles and shrimp so it's a bit underwhelming. Service(5/5): service is always good and attentive. They notice when you finish the radish and bring a new one. Ambiance(5/5): it's a good place to chat with friends and eat.

Yelp
Paik's is not the best black bean noodle shop out there but it does hit the spot every once in a while. Last time I was here was a year ago so while waiting to be seated, I was telling a friend that a spicy jajangmyeon sounds good without knowing that they had it on the menu. I turned around to look at the menu and voila they had a spicy option! I was super excited to try it. We ordered 3 portions of jajangmyeon and a sweet & sour pork (tangsuyuk). The spicy jajangmyeon was a hit! Really good amount of heat and I feel like the spice definitely elevated the flavor of the sauce. I loved the fresh chilies on top as well. It added a nice crunch and some extra heat. If you can't handle spice, I wouldn't recommend it. The tangsuyuk here is just okay but you can't have black bean noodles without it so we got it anyway. The service definitely stood out! All the workers on this day were so ecstatic and funny. They were packing up our leftovers with some special moves which got a laugh out of us! Will definitely be back for spicy jajangmyeon! As always, parking is a nightmare so try to avoid the dinner rush before 5 pm. There's also usually a wait outside but luckily we came right before the rush and were seated almost immediately.

Yelp
We came here for lunch on Presidents' Day with a table for 5. This place was packed. There were people waiting outside. We got our table fairly quickly because we came a little early. Fair warning though, this place is located with a very small parking lot. Street parking is available but it is on a busy street. There are many tables inside, but they're a little too close next to each other. Food was good! The amount was worth the price. It was all very tasty. The fried pork was one of my favorite dishes along with the jajjangmyeon. If you come early enough, you could avoid the lunch or dinner rush.

Yelp
Paik's is known for all sorts of black bean noodles, but I'm personally a BIG fan of their stir fried black bean noodles. Super consistent taste, textures and flavors whether dined in or taken out. It gets busy, but the wait is worth it. Quick and attentive service! I've never tried the simple jjajangmyeon here (sweeter, not as savory) because friends recommended the jaengban jajang, and I just can't be bothered to try anything different. JAENGBAN JAJANG: 5/5 ($19.95) + MUST try! The sauce is stir fried in vs. being mixed in, so it's way more incorporated. Soooo much flavor and has a nice kick of spice + Noodle texture is amazing and perfectly chewy + Feeds 2 hungry people or 3-4 people trying different items together TANGSUYUK: 4/5 ($15.95) + Sweet and sour pork with a fun, chewy exterior! Good and flavorful, but not something I'd go out of my way to get GUNMANDU: 4/5 ($5.49/4 pcs) + Yummy, crunchy, and juicy! Nothing special though, it really is just fried mandu

Yelp
Whenever someone asks where to get jjajangmyeon, Paik's Noodle is always the first place that comes to mind. Although, there are other places Paik's Noodle delivers whether it's jjajangmyeon, jjampong or Tang Su Yuk. It's a small but bustling restaurant usually with a wait time but so worth it, they have a pretty good turn around so never had to wait too long to dine here. The menu is simple and pricing is great for portion size. Service is quick, efficient and thoughtful. From ordering to even packing up take out, I've had on many occasions had the server pack extra pickled radish to enjoy at home. Their Jjajangmyeon, black bean noodles, are made to order. Noodles are perfectly chewy and the sauce is rich and savory. Delicious! Their Jjamppong, spicy seafood noodle soup is perfect for cold weather and has a good amount of seafood in it. Tang Su Yuk, is crisp to the bite and the sweet and sour sauce coats the chewy pork perfectly. Chili Shrimp is a good side dish to share with big and juice shrimp, lightly coated and fried, tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce. Think Yangnyeom or gochujang based sauce with a bit of sweetness and tang. The servings are more than enough to share here and to take home. Definitely a must try here if you ever crave black bean noodles or want take out to enjoy for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
One of my favorite Korean restaurants ever! I swear by the comfort food here, good quality + tasty food with large portion sizes and affordable pricing. Jajangmyeon - Love this since the noodles always have a good, chewy texture and the black bean sauce has perfect flavor; I do wish there was a bit more pork in it though. Sweet and sour pork (not pictured) - It's nice and crispy with a good balance of that sweet and tangy flavor. This location has awful parking! The lot is small and cramped. So normally, I don't dine in because they're always busy and crowded. Even when I order for pickup, there's no place to park so...

Yelp
Always a long wait, but for good reason! Paik's Noodle is known for jjajangmyeon, but also boasts an extensive array of options. Service is efficient and the small interior can surprisingly seat many parties. Parking lot is very small and fills up quickly during peak times. Jjajangmyeon and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) are 5/5 -- the noodles are delightfully chewy, the sauce is divinely oily, and the tangsuyuk is perfectly crunchy. The jjamppong is also quite good, but watch out if you're wearing white clothing!

Yelp
Another solid restaurant always in my rotation especially when craving jajangmyeon and it has never decreased in quality over the years! The amount of noodles you get for the price is a steal! So tasty but you always have to keep in mind the wait, especially at the Santa Clara location. I suggest to also try their seafood dishes and the Tangsuyuk which is this fried pork dish paired with sweet&sour sauce. It's airy and light, with pretty big portions.

Yelp
We came in close to closing time on a Monday night, and it was still quite busy. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Definitely worth the visit!

Yelp
Black bean noodles, fried pork, amazing shrimp... yes please! I've been here a few times and always order the same things. The black bean noodles are so yummy and fill a hungry spot in my soul. The fried pork with separate sauce is spot on! I'm sure I'm doing it wrong, but I dip the pork in the sauce instead of pouring it on top. The shrimp is really good. They are large, crispy and coated in a sauce that make you want to keep eating them even after you're full! Pro tip: park in the first space that you see as the parking lot fills up quickly. Even street parking could be challenging.

Yelp
I am not of this culture nor have a lot of experience with these types of noodles but the reviews of this place had me curious and I love Asian food. I got the black bean meat noodles, and was really surprised with the bouncy chewy nature of the noodles. I don't know what they are coated with, but nothing sticks to them, all of the meat and ingredients just tend to slide to the bottom of the bowl. Even though i got the regular size, I was still able to eat this all myself. At the end, I got to spoon out all of the ingredients and meat and eat all the toppings that fell through. I wish I could have had more of that flavor and texture as I ate the noodles like chow mein or pad thai. The color obviously isn't the most attractive looking, but the flavor is a mix of savory and sweet. You can add hot sauce to balance that out. I love sweetness in my food though, so I found it rather delicious. I got potstickers on the side, but I think I'd skip them next time.

Yelp
Fantastic noodles - I ordered the Jajangmyeon black bean sauce noodle that came with pickled radish. The noodles were chewy and the sauce tasted light and sweet like a pork stew with lots of onions. The food came out quickly. The servers were really nice. I arrived about 30 min from closing so there was no wait. They gave me a free black bean sauce to take home. The restaurant was clean. There's a window that allow you to see inside the kitchen. They did a really thorough cleaning after the kitchen closed by washing the walls. I can imagine when the restaurant is full, it can be loud. At half capacity, it was peaceful.

Yelp
Been back a couple of times with different friends. Food 4/5 The meat black bean noodles and the sweet and sour crispy pork tasted amazing. The chili black bean noodles had a lot of green chili peppers just sprinkled on top, which I didn't like as much. Not as big of a fan of the spicy seafood noodle soup. Parking 3/5 Very small parking lot shared with the laundromat next door. There is occasionally some side street parking available.

Yelp
Service: excellent! They are fast and helpful. They even packed our extra noodles for us and gave us more pickled radishes with our to go container. Ambiance: Feels like an upscale Asian fast food chain. It's bustling and busy but very efficient. You don't order at the counter they do come to take your order so that is the more upscale reference, upscale fast food. Food: I think generally this is not my taste profile so I will say take the following with that in mind. Note: I couldn't eat spicy at the time of eating here due to pregnancy. The noodle texture itself was firm but easy to chew, perfectly adente. We found it hard to eat both the noodles and the toppings together and ended up eating noodles then the toppings. Jajangmyeon with meat: not my taste preference. I felt like the sauce was a little bland and didn't add much to the noodles. Seafood stir-fry with noodles: I liked this better than Jajangmyeon but found it a little oily and heavy. Seafood was plentiful and tasty. Overall probably would not come back unless I was really craving stirfry noodles or to try the spicy soup. If you like noodles and Jajangmyeon it's definitely worth a try. Also my friends raved about this place so maybe I am missing something or it's just not my thing.
