The Best Korean Restaurants in Santa Clara | Eater SF

"Also known as Hong Kong Banjum, this Korean chain, connected to the celebrity chef Jong-Won Baek, is known for its tasty versions of jajangmyeon (thick, chewy noodles in black bean sauce), jjampong (a spicy noodle soup), and other Korean-Chinese dishes, all served up lightning fast and at a reasonable price. Slick branding notwithstanding, this is pure comfort food. Make sure to get some gun-mandu (pan-fried dumplings) with your order — they’re especially good here." - Luke Tsai

Google
Really enjoyed the jajangmyeon here! Probably the best jajangmyeon I’ve tried in the States! The portion size is generous for the price, and the flavors are spot on. The black bean sauce is lighter than the traditional version, which I actually prefer—it feels less heavy but still very flavorful. The noodles have a great chewy texture, just the way they should be. Meat is tender and flavourful as well! The sweet and sour pork was crispy and served in a very generous portion. The stir-fried noodles are satisfying with lots of ingredients. Seasoning is light and spot on! The jjamppong and Gunmandu (deep fried pork dumplings) were a hit and miss.

Google
The seafood noodle is good but not unique. The sweet and sour pork seem a popular dish, is cooked differently, crispy and chewy at the same time, the sauce is spicy, it is very good. Jjajang (black bean sauce) noodles cooked with the right tenderness . I am not into jjajang noodle but will come back for this. Worth visiting just for the Jjajang noodle .

Delicious authentic Korean food is served at this restaurant in Santa Clara. We tried the Jajangmyeon, Jjamppong, and the sweet and sour pork. The Jajangmyeon is a must-try! Although the sweet and sour pork is popular, it wasn’t my favorite. Fast and efficient service. Very small free parking lot that fills up quickly.

Google
I came in during my long lunch break at work. A bit crowded, but to be expected. Ordered the jajang rice. Order was at my table within 5 mins. Very prompt and accurate. Jajang rice is hearty, comes with an egg and shrimp omelette. Nice, savory, and gooey (yes weird to say, but it was that good). Also came with a bowl of Jjangpong soup. Doesn't taste numbingly spicy, but the heat does linger. Very generous portions. Well worth it. Was only able to finish half of my meal. Thank you to my server for hooking me up with the pickled radish and for being attentive. Will definitely come back for the Jajangmyeon and other dishes.

Google
We ordered the jajangmyeon and the jjampong and they came super quick. The noodles used in the dishes were extremely chewy, which was a noodle type I had never had before. Takes a lot of chewing so just keep that in mind. Otherwise, the jajangmyeon was savory and had lots of vegetables, the jjampong had plenty of tender seafood and the complimentary radish wasn't too sweet like the kind you usually purchase at the store. I do wish there were the traditional cucumbers on top of the jajangmyeon though, as it was a little oily and heavy after a while. Prices are great, portions are large, even for the regular size. However, the location isn't the most ideal and the parking lot is small. They were also blaring music inside which was quite overstimulating during our meal.

Google
The noodle is out of this world , especially the “Jaengban Jajang” the stir fry create a unique aroma from the sauce. If you enjoy spicy , “ Jjampping “ will be a great choice , has a kick but not too spice , definitely a restaurant worth visit. Ps: expect long wait during weekend.

Google
Extremely great value. Great noodle texture and flavorful sauce. If I really wanted to be critical, the fried pork is not as tender as I’d like, but it still gave a flavorful chew.

Ben P.

Google
This is a decent restaurant that meets expectations. Jajangmyun was a little too sweet and they most likely used machines to make their noodles (as opposed to making their own). However, this isn’t a place where you dine to get the best Korean Chinese dishes. Their prices are highly competitive and you get exactly that. Fast service, adequate quality food and smaller portions. It’s an attractive place to dine for a value play.

Yelp

Yelp
Food Portions Affordable Service Everything is just A+! I love getting the stir fried seafood jajangmyeon (10/10) it's a big heaping portion. If you don't do well with the regular jajangmyeon with black bean paste, this is an amazing alternative! Seafood jjampong (9/10) is spicy but delicious as they use the name noodles as their jajangmyeon, nice and chewy and springy. Sweet and sour pork (10/10) I love how it comes out crispy and they don't drench the sauce all over, you can dip as you like while keeping the crispiness. I love adding the spicy powder on the pork for that extra kick! Creamy Shrimp (8/10) this pairs so well with white rice, it's still crispy even with the creamy sauce, reminds me of honey walnut shrimp This is the best location for paiks so if you're craving Korean/Chinese cuisine, come here! Parking is a bit limited so you might have to park across the street

Yelp
I came here with friends. I ordered the tangsuyuk, meat jajangmyeon, and meat jjampong. It came out within 10 minutes. I enjoyed the tangsuyuk and meat jajangmyeon the most. The sweet and sour sauce with the fried pork is heavenly. The meat jajangmyeon was sweet and tasty. Wish it had more meat though. The meat jjampong I didn't like because the soup broth had a very strong seafood taste to it. This is a great place for dates, family meals, or hangout with friends! The parking lot is small though so try to find parking before meal times or parking elsewhere. I would definitely come here today just for their meat jajangmyeon and tangsuyuk!

Yelp
I wanted to try Paik's because of the show Culinary Class Wars. .We order take out via Uber Eats. Jajangmyeon is definitely spot-on in terms of flavor. The noodles are also nice and el dente. We ordered a large and it was enough to share between 3 people. Sweet and sour pork -- the pork was nice and crunchy but the meat was a bit dry. Chili Shrimp -- also deep fried with a light batter. The Chili sauce is really a sweet and sour sauce. We also tried the Jjamppong and it is filled with seafood. I love the spiciness of the broth. Jajangmyeon is definitely the tastiest item out of everything we ordered.

Yelp
Arrived around 5pm on a Friday and were seated immediately. By the time we left at 5:40, there was already a wait, so timing definitely matters. Highly recommend the stir-fried jajangmyeon, mandu, and tangsuyuk. We tried the chili shrimp this time, but we'll probably stick with our usual tangsuyuk next visit. The jajangmyeon is incredibly slurpable, rich, and flavorful--true comfort food that always hits the spot. My husband and I somehow end up coming back every time a new season of Culinary Class Wars comes out, thanks to Chef Paik. Parking can be tough during peak hours, so I'd suggest coming earlier to beat the dinner rush.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles), and I'm officially in love with this dish! The flavor was rich and savory I have to show this place to my fam! I'll be craving this for a long time. The Jajangmyeon: 10/10. Highly recommend if it's your first time here! No joke, it's soooooo goood!!!!! Sweet and Sour Pork (Tangsuyuk) We ordered this with the sauce on the side to keep the pork nice and crispy, and it was incredibly delicious. A must try!!! I also wanted to try Jjamppong but unfortunately, the spicy seafood noodle soup wasn't really for me and didn't hit the mark like the other dishes did. The service here is quick and fast. Even though they stay busy, the food comes out hot and the staff is efficient. Aside from the Jjamppong, everything else was phenomenal. If you want a fast, satisfying meal, definitely come here for the Jajangmyeon and the pork!
google avatar

Yelp
The freshly made noodles and savory black bean sauce are so good. Best Jjajangmyeon in NorCal imo. For $13, it's a high quality and perfectly portioned bowl of delicious Korean noodles that hit the spot. The chili paste is actually insanely spicy so I kind of don't recommend it; it coats your mouth in chili spice, so you cant enjoy the delicious black bean sauce. Service was great: we got our orders taken down quickly, free water refills, and our check when we were done eating. Parking lot is pretty small, but there's plenty of street parking nearby.

Yelp
12/10/2025 I feel like I come here at least once per yr. Inside are still the same old. Very friendly staff. Jajangmyeon was delicious as ever. Still a pretty good portion for the size. This time, we ordered the spicy shrimp, which was new for me. The spicy shrimp dish was decent. The sauce was pretty spicy but a good spice. I don't really like the chips in my dish but my friend liked it. The shrimp was decently sized and nicely coated. Overall a great spot to dine in and iv been recommending it to my friends who also think it's great.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
I came here with very high expectations just because many people said that this was really good minced noodles. Sadly, I was kind of disappointed the noodles didn't really have much of a bouncy bite to it. For the sauce, I think I prefer it to be slightly a little thicker and a little bit more flavor. I just felt like everything was very bland and I wish that it just had a little bit more of a kick. What helped was actually the pickled veggies I feel like that was a nice touch to kind of give it a little bit more of a kick. The service was regular, like not good not bad.

Yelp
Paik's Noodle is by far my favorite jajangmyeon spot ever. The jajangmyeon is perfectly chewy, and the sauce is sweet, rich, and absolutely delicious. You have to pair it with the tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) -- it's the perfect combo. The prices are super friendly, really affordable, which makes it even better. There are plenty of tables inside, but on weekends you might have to wait. Parking is a bit tricky, and I usually end up parking a bit far, but it's totally worth it for the food!
google avatar

Yelp
Hidden gem for some Korean food in santa clara. I recently found out they have other locations as well. The restaurant is in a small complex with limited parking. Its popularity speaks for itself with the long waiting list but the line moves fast. I came here on a weekend evening but had to wait for only 10-15 minutes. The service is pretty quick and the servers are very friendly. The menu is pretty limited here of you are looking for some variety. You definitely must try the jajangmyeon here! I liked the texture of the noodles and the flavor of the black bean sauce. I would like to try other versions of jajangmyeon. I also got their cream shrimp but it didn't hit the spot. The batter was not coated well and it wasn't crispy. The shrimp was fresh but it wasn't cooked well and the sauce wasn't that great. This dish was a big miss. I would come back to repeat the jajangmyeon and try some of their other dishes.

Yelp
They are much better when dining in or even take out, but be careful with catering. We had an office catering with them and they are so focused on delivering quality of food that the office efficiency suffered. We had a long long line as the whole setup only serves one employee at a time. After the queue, you arrive at the station first with the yellow pickled radish and a bowl of plain noodle. Naturally you open the bowl and put the pickles inside. Then the broth station where it's a spicy broth or a vegetarian one. They didn't tell me the spicy broth is seafood. And they'll ask you to pick up the radish before they put the broth into the bowl so the flavors don't mix. So I saw a coworker reached into the bowl and picked out the radish with her fingers and fidget to put them on the bowl cover. lol....so unnecessary! Anyhow, I don't want anything spicy, so I moved onto the Jjajang station, which is for dry noodle with sauce and the sauce has pork. The sauce only had 3 small pieces of meat and some chopped onions. Although it's sufficient to coat the noodle, it's really not much nutrients. The sauce tastes sweet. Moving down the line, there's prepared dry noodle for vegetarians which has more veggie ingredients and then lastly sweet soy chicken wings for people who don't eat pork or seafood. I loaded up on that and they are delicious! Later on as they started to run out, I saw that they added a garlic and tomato clam and fried chicken drum sticks. Food tasted good overall, but after lining up for 30 minutes on a busy day, it's just not as exciting.

Yelp
Dropped by on a Wednesday noon--third visit, and this place keeps scoring. We were seated immediately despite the restaurant being nearly full (about 90%). Within five minutes, piping-hot dishes arrived. The fried pork? Crisped to golden perfection, juicy on the inside, and still sizzling. The black bean noodles were just as unforgettable as before--springy noodles drenched in a rich, savory black bean sauce that hits all the right notes. Speedy service, consistent quality, and flavors that never disappoint. If you're craving legit Korean black bean noodles, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

Yelp
MENU AND FOOD: Paik's offers a list of Korean-Chinese noodle soups, stir fried noodles and other meat/shrimp dishes. SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE: Service is quick and efficient. Their indoor decor is appropriate and appealing. They have indoor seating only. PARKING: Located in a small plaza, they have a small lot with other frequented businesses as well. So, it can be tough to find a spot. Street parking is recommended! IMPRESSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS: We've had their jjamppong, stir fried noodles, sweet and sour pork and chili shrimp. All but their sweet and sour pork have great flavor and texture. This spot is always busy and we definitely understand why!
google avatar

Donna T.

Yelp
After watching Culinary Wars, I was highly motivated to try Paik's Noodle. I think I harbored too high of expectations because of that, as the quality fell a bit short. We ordered the Meat JaJangmyeon and Jjamppong. So their noodle texture is definitely impressive and unique; perfectly al dente, chewy, and glossy. It tastes like some sort of tapioca noodles. However, the flavors of both the JaJangmyeon and Jjamppong did not follow the same upwards trajectory. The JaJangmyeon needed a bit more salt to me. I've had a better tasting one at a local Korean mom and pop joint. I liked the Jjamppong better than the JaJangmyeon, but I felt as if it just tasted like a spicy Korean noodle soup with a hint of seafood; nothing extremely distinctive. Not to mention, the seafood inside the Jjamppong was minimal and the mussels were really tough. We came at an off hour so there wasn't a wait nor was it hard to find parking, but I can definitely see how it could be problematic. There were also a lot of flies flying around. I do still want to try their stir-fried JaJangmyeon and tangsuyuk, but having tried the two classics already and not being super awed by them does kind of set the precedent.

Yelp
Loveeee going here with friends! The service is always quick and attentive. The restaurant itself is a bit small, with a very small parking lot. However, the food is so good! I usually get the Jajangmyeon. Despite being the regular size, it is still a lot and I tend to bring some leftovers home. It is a total comfort meal, and is so good! There's also some dessert places nearby, making it a well-rounded dinner with friends.
google avatar

Lynette T.

Yelp
A really solid place if you're looking for some jajangmyeon and tangsuyuk! The staff had really quick and efficient service and the portion sizes are really generous. For two people, a regular sized jajangmyeon was perfect and it was fresh and hot for a chilly day. I would be interested to come back and try other things on their menu!
google avatar

Vi T.

Yelp
I have been coming to Paik's Noodle for years, and to me, this is hand down the best Korean cheap eat in the Bay Area. Great price, greater portion, quick service, and consistent quality. Always have so much leftovers to bring home and the bill won't break your bank.

Yelp
Visited right at opening on a Saturday so it wasnt too busy yet when we arrived. Tangsuyuk and jjajangmyekn were cooked to perfection! Prices are affordable and fair! Staff were kind and efficient.

Yelp
I came here at night, here is my first experience: 1. Ambience (4/5): The restaurant is not too large. There's an open kitchen, and in front of it is the cashier counter. The tables are set close to each other, so it feels a bit packed. 2. Service (5/5): I came at night when it was very crowded. There was a waiting list, but I didn't have to wait too long for a table for one inside, just around 5-10 minutes. The servers here are very attentive, often refilling water and helping me pack my food to go. Food (4/5): Here's what I ordered: Meat Jjamppong (3/5): This is a spicy noodle dish with pork, squid, mussels, and vegetables. I liked the wood ear mushrooms they added, and the pork was tender and fresh. The noodles were round and chewy, but the squid was too chewy, maybe overcooked. There were two mussels in my bowl, and they were very fresh. However, the broth lacked depth of flavor, so it didn't impress me much. Fried Pork with Sweet and Sour Sauce (4/5): It was served very quickly, just in a few minutes. The portion was huge with plenty of meat and it was very hot when it was served to me. The shredded pork was wrapped in a crispy coating and came with a bowl of sweet & sour sauce to dip or pour over. The sauce had some vegetables like cabbage, mushrooms, beans, and carrots. I've tried a similar Chinese dish: sweet and sour short ribs, and personally, I prefer the Chinese version because this sauce lacked flavor. Overall: The two dishes I tried didn't impress me too much, but I'll come back with my friends to try other dishes, especially the Jajangmyeon.

Yelp
We came on a Saturday night, there was a small wait time of 15 minutes before we got seated. The parking was brutal. The parking lot was really small so we had to camp for parking. We ordered the jajangmyeon and the sweet and sour pork, the portions are really generous and were able to feed my partner and I. We even took some of the pork home because we were not able to finish everything. Food was delicious, really enjoyed both of the items we ordered. Would definitely recommend to try if you are craving some Korean comfort food.
google avatar

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
it's sheep it's fast it's tasty, what more could you want! The menu here is relatively small, but that's not a bad thing, they do what they do very well. Portions are very generous and you are sure to leave full or with many leftovers. Maybe I have had better JJM in my life (i think it's a little too sweet for me) but the accessibility and affordability of this place can't be beat. It does get a little crowded sometimes and the parking lot can be a nightmare. But the line always seems to move fast and once you get in, they bring you the food real quick.

Yelp
Jajangmyeon - Noodles are very chewy. May not be for everyone. Thought the sauce was a bit too sweet but it was still pretty good. 3.5/5 Sweet and Sour Pork (tangsuyuk) - This was just okay. I've had better. 3/5 Bokkeummyeon (stir fried noodle with oyster sauce - It had good wok hei (iykyk) and flavor. 4/5 Overall, decent spot for quick take out. Everything was packaged thoughtfully well.
google avatar

Nancy L.

Yelp
Omg the first time I've been here and the black bean noodle was amazing! So chewy, so flavorful and one of the best black bean noodles I've had. I love the spicy seafood noodle soup too. There were a lot of jalapeños in it and it was spicy. I love spice wish it was more hot, but the seafood tasted really fresh. The crispy sweet and sour fried pork was really good! I enjoyed the batter cooked with the pork and the dipping sauce went really well with it. The service was nice and the food came pretty quick. We sat at a booth inside and it was pretty casual. I'd recommend this place!

Yelp
One of my favorite Korean restaurants in South Bay. Jjajangmen 5/5 - we really like the texture of the noddles here. And the sauce is really good. Portion size is pretty good for the price Jampong 5/5 - this is my favorite. The peppers can be a bit spicy for some but I really like the spice and flavor of this dish. Good amount of seafood too and prices are great Tongsuyuk 4/5 - this was good but I wish the pork was a bit crispier. We came on a Wednesday night and waited 15 mins. It's always crowded here

Yelp
Came here with a party of 9! We didn't all come at the same time, but the staff set up a large table quickly and allowed us to sit down even though the entire party wasn't present. There are complimentary picked veggies that were served. We ordered (to all share together): 2 portions of stir fried jajangmyeon 1 large portion of jjampong 1 large portion of beef jjampong 1 sweet and sour pork 1 chili shrimp This was a good portion for all of us, but we did have leftovers so maybe it would have been better if we ordered one less dish. I would definitely recommend to come here with a large party so that you can try a variety of dishes since each portion is honestly HUGE. Additionally, all the dishes came out smoking hot!!! The service was very nice. When the server placed the sweet and sour pork on the table, one piece fell on the table. He said sorry and got us another small bowl with a few more pieces of sweet and sour pork even though none of us complained. My favorite dish out of all of them was the stir fried jajangmyeon. I was at first hesitant because I'm not a big bean fan, but there was no earthiness and grunge to the dish unlike other bean dishes. There's a yummy smoky flavor and the veggies really absorb the flavor. The octopus and shrimp are tender and don't add a fishy flavor to the dish. The noodles are nicely chewy and were honestly perfect to me. All the other dishes were very good! Some notes I had were that I thought the sweet and sour pork was a little chewy, but the sauce that it came with was very yummy and not watery. The jjampong has a little bit of fishy flavor from the clams which isn't what I like, but the rest of the party did like it. The chili shrimp were huge and I liked the breading they used. Overall fantastic and would come again

Yelp
5 stars for the food. Hadn't gotten the chance to dine in, ordered for pick up. But yoooo, solid, solid food. The order: Sweet and sour pork $15.95: Crispy, crispy pork that wasn't tough, and this perfect sauce that has the same consistency as thick teriyaki sauce. The sauce had such a nice balance. I love ordering tangsuyuk and this plate hits. Jajangmyeon $10.95: Damn, what a good price point. It was such a nice comfort meal. I can only imagine how it is over rice. Nice chewy noodles and a sauce that wasn't bland. Stir-Fried jajangmyeon $19.95: larger portion than the regular jajangmyeon, of course and just a treat to eat. It tasted extra savory. The parking is limited, so be prepared for that. I ordered online or over the phone, I can't remember which. When I went in on a late weekday afternoon, it was PACKED and busy; walked in n out for my pick up. The seating inside seemed kind of slightly small compared to some other Korean restaurants, but I think it was a perfect size to not be overwhelmed and people keep coming all day anyway. Check out this place for sure, and check out their website for a detailed menu. I can't wait to go back to dine in and try their jajang rice and jjamppong.

Yelp
Delicious korean noodles, and inexpensive Jjangmyean, Jjampong, and stirfried noodles, service was fast and the food was delicious. The spot looks like a mom and pop store with homemade offerings,
google avatar

Yelp
Good noodles but must eat while hot. Cons of this particular location is that it's so small and cramped, seating was not comfortable for our party of 6. It's also always a wait when we come, and parking is HARD! I enjoyed it but I'd probably go for one of the less popular locations next time I.e. San Carlos - maybe not 100% as good but good enough.
google avatar

Rosanna L.

Yelp
I can't believe I never reviewed this place! I always go here when I'm in the area after appointments. I always get the black bean noodles and the crispy pork so delicious!!! Order online it saves time! The parking lot can be crowded but if you are just picking up food it'll be ok! Inside of the restaurant is ok for dining in.
google avatar

Lisa N.

Yelp
My brother showed me this place and it has easily become one of my top places to eat. I got the stir fried jajangmyeon while my brother always gets the regular version. The sauce is savory and packed with flavor. The dish has plenty of seafood; the portions are more than generous and I had leftovers for lunch the next day. Skip the mandu and get the sweet and sour fried pork instead!
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
This time I ordered take out and got their Large Jjampong and their Large Jajangmyeon. For two people it's a big potion size with leftovers. The Jjampong wasn't too spicy but had a stronger seafood taste. The Jajangmyeon was fine, on the sweeter side to other ones I've had. Since I got this delivered, the noodles and the sauce/soup were separate which was nice. Overall, good meal.
google avatar

Caroline L.

Yelp
A staple jiajiangmian place here. The "wok hei" is good here and the noodles are tasty. Also the prices are great for the Bay Area. A bang for your buck place on top of being delicious. The wait can't be long but they try to seat you pretty quickly. Once you order the food comes out pretty fast. The place is clean and efficient. One downfall for the place is parking. You may not be able to park on the front lot and may have to circle around for parking.
google avatar

Julianna E.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon with a friend. Although there was a short wait, it went by quickly. Once we were seated, our food arrived quickly after ordering. We ended up ordering the Tangsuyuk and the stir-fried noodles with shrimp. The Tangsuyuk was perfectly fried, and the sweet sauce on the side went nicely with the fried pork. The noodles were chewy and flavorful, and the shrimp in it was delicious. The inside of the restaurant was also nice and vibrant! Overall, the staff were friendly, service was quick, and everything tasted really great. I would highly recommend, especially if you're in the mood for noodles and fried pork!

Yelp
Basically, there's two places I recommend Jajangmyeon in the South Bay: This place, and Beijing Restaurant in Santa Clara. I used to come here after work several years ago, and during a time where they had a different name? Not sure if they got bought out or just renamed. Apparently this is a well known chain, and the owner/CEO was featured in some Korean Netflix culinary show? If you never had Jajangmyeon, it's black bean noodles. The black bean sauce is very savory, doesn't really taste much like black beans in the traditional/western style use of black beans. Their noodles are great. I have a feeling it's a nice mixture of egg/flour/tapioca starch because it's firm but still bouncy chewy as well. The restaurant setting is nice, menu is simplistic, and service is great. Overall the food is really good, noodles are al dente/QQ, but negative stars because there was some charcoal sendiment left in the food and the parking situation massively sucks. You may as well skip trying to find parking in the parking lot and go right to the residential area next door instead.

Yelp
Nothing special about the location or interior, but it's clean, the servers are attentive, and it's delicious. I walked in pretty close to when they opened on a Wednesday afternoon, and when I left there was a line to be seated. I got the Jjajangmyeon, and it was much more delicious than the version at the Dali City location. I'd be a regular if this was in San Francisco.

Yelp
Tried the Jiangjiangmen and it was really good! The noodles were cooked just right, with a great texture, and the sauce had a really nice balance, not too salty, not too oily, just flavorful. We also tried the sweet and sour pork. The flavor of the sauce was great, but the fry on the pork could've been better. It did reheat in the air fryer really well though. We got everything to go and they packed everything really well. I like that they separated the sauce and noodles/fried pork. I'd definitely go back to try more of their noodle dishes!

Yelp
Paik's Black Bean noodles are delicious and they come out in an instant! My girlfriend introduced me to this joint and it was great. Their menu consists of Korean-Chinese dishes such as jjampong and jjajangmyeon. I had the spicy jjajangmyeon for $14 and a single serving can feed two. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the sauce itself was perfectly balanced, there were jalapeños but they proved to be subtle, although the meat portions were definitely lacking.

Yelp
Just Noodling Around One of 29 US locations** for famed Korean chef and entrepreneur Jong-Won Paik that's been in business for nearly ten years (ca. 2016). I first visited back in 2017, and was impressed but haven't returned since, as most restaurants get lost in the shuffle once I've visited them once. It wasn't until we recently watched the Korean cooking competition "Culinary Class Wars" (Netflix), where Chef Paik served as a judge, that my desire to visit Chef Paik's restaurant was renewed, as I didn't really know much about him on my first visit. The Good: *Menu had expanded since my first visit, but not by much. They still keep it pretty simple, which is a bonus in my book. *Complimentary pickled Daikon radish were delicious. They're probably not for everyone, but if you like funky, sweet pickled things then they'll be your jam. *The Jajangmyeon (noodles w/ fermented black bean sauce w/ pork & veggies) is probably our favorite dish here, as we ordered it on both our visits. It starts out a little funky but it's definitely one of those dishes that the more you eat, the more you want. *Prices are fantastic, as the large Jajangmyeon was $15 and plenty of food for two people. *Chili Shrimp were tasty and had a nice sweet-chili sauce that could've used more heat imo. Otherwise, they were quite tasty. *The Tangsuyuk (sweet & sour pork), which we ordered on our first visit, was delicious and seemed like a very popular dish at neighboring tables. The crisp rice flour coating is pretty phenomenal, if memory serves. *Service was friendly and fast The Meh: *Fried dumplings were a touch dry for my liking and needed a sauce. *Stir-fried Noodle dish was a bit too fishy for my son's liking, and I have to say I kinda agreed. It must be the type/brand of oyster sauce they use that's just a bit too heavy-handed with the funk. *As usual, we're always the only non-Asians at these places. Kinda sad that so many people are missing out on great food because it's "different." ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Ugly: *Parking is real mayhem if you arrive around the busy periods. They have a shared lot with several other businesses, including a laundromat, which claims several spots for their customers only. The surrounding neighbor lots have signs specifically forbidding Paik's customer parking, so you can take your chances there. There is some street parking, which is how we lucked out. Conclusion: Good Korean-Chinese food with speedy service and a great price point. **There's eight more slated to me opened this year (2025), including one in South SJ!

Yelp
my favorite place for jajangmyeon!! you gotta get the tangsuyuk and jjamppong too. the stir fried jajangmyeon is also really good. i prefer that when in big groups because its a larger portion too. the line gets pretty long during the lunch/dinner rush so come early if you can. the parking lot is small so can be hard to find parking. we usually find street parking nearby. service is usually pretty good, they're quick and efficient so that the next table can be sat. i also like that if you have leftovers, they'll box it up for you.

Yelp
I've been to Paik's Noodle a few times and I noticed that the taste of the jajangmyeon can vary. Sometimes it's a bit bland and watery but other times it has a perfect balance of flavor in the sauce. This time, it was average. Not the worst nor the best that I've had. This location is definitely better than the Dublin location though. I also miss the cucumbers. They used to give cucumbers instead of peas. Parking in this plaza is also not the best. There's limited parking due to the laundromat next door, but you can park on the street.

Yelp
I love this place. It's been a while since I last ate here because it's a little out of the way for me but the food is always excellent. The service is also top notch, so efficient and polite. My go-to will also be the Jaengban-Jjajang. It's soo good! Highly recommend but it is a bit spicy. It used to be a lot more spicy but I think they toned it down in recent years. The only bad thing about this place is the parking. We used to be able to park in the back area but now there are signs that say "No parking for Paik's customers." Luckily, when I went, there weren't too many people and I was able to get a parking spot. Most people order to-go because of the limited parking so just wait a bit and someone will leave. Three cars left right after I parked my car in the only available spot I saw. There was a paper waitlist at the entrance and they call out your name when your table is ready. I only had to wait 10 minutes for a party of 3 on Saturday evening around 6:30pm. If you haven't tried this place, it's a worth a visit.

Yelp
Blazing fast service, great taste, cheap prices, large portions. Lot to like about this place. The wait wasn't even that bad either -- there were only two small parties ahead of us and we were seated within 5 minutes. Love this place for a nice quick and hearty bowl of noodles! Pickled radish is provided at the table and is a great palate cleanser afterward since some of the dishes can be a bit on the oily side.

Yelp
Yuuuumm was craving some Korean Chinese after watching my fav mukbanger eat this so needed to come here for dinner! There was pleasantly no wait around 7:20pm Wed but when we finished a line formed and the place was packed. Ordered the jjajang & tang su yuk to share with the small soup of Jjangpong. I love that the have the small bowl bc the actual noodle soup is too much for me. The jjajang was delicious and fresh, the pork tang su yuk came out so quickly with it and all just fried hot and fresh. I love the sauce with all the veggies inside. The soup is nice and spicy and adds good kick and flavor. Service was so quick and ample napkins and surprisingly our bill was $35 which is very good these days with inflated restaurant prices. Really enjoyed our meal and will def be back soon.

Yelp
Probably like a lot of other people, we saw Chef Paik on Netflix and then had to try this spot. Honestly, it's really good for a casual chain spot. We're not super educated or familiar with these Korean dishes, so not a lot to compare to. But we tried the signature dish Jajangmyeon with extra pork. We attempted to order the spicy version, and the server warned us that it is VERY spicy (even for Koreans, and even if you love spicy food). So he offered to bring the spices on the side and we're glad he did- because it was REALLY spicy. But I liked it and added some to the dish...but would recommend this option if you aren't familiar with it. Noodles were great texture, pork was tender, and the sauce was delicious. Very rich and large portion size- you can def share. We also tried the chili shrimp which were good but not as flavorful as the noodles. Def will be back.

Yelp
Really nice food here. The stir-fried jjajangmyeon was especially good, super flavorful with a nice amount of shrimp. It had that deep, savory flavor I love and the noodles were cooked just right. The fried dumplings were solid too. Crispy on the outside and juicy inside, definitely a good choice to start with. I wasn't the biggest fan of the sweet and sour pork. The texture was great and it stayed crispy, but I didn't really care for the sauce. Just a personal preference, though, if you like that style, it might still be worth trying.

Yelp
Located on El Camino, parking spaces are limited and difficult to find. The interior has plenty of seating. During peak hours, you can most definitely expect a wait. Jajangmyeon (5/5): so delicious. The noodles had the perfect texture. They were chewy but also not too firm or soft. The flavor was impeccable. Food came shockingly quickly. Tap to pay is accepted. Overall, Paik's Noodle is an awesome place for some delicious korean noodles. I would come back.

Yelp
It tastes so good (although I never been to Korean but my friend do, she also likes it)
