The 12 Best Wine Bars In Buenos Aires 2024

"Palermo is packed with wine bars, and new ones seem to crop up every week. But Pain et Vin is a standout. It’s been around for more than 10 years, and as the name suggests, it’s run by a baker-sommelier couple. This is the perfect sunny, airy space to rest while enjoying a tasting flight, cheese plate, and some fantastic sourdough after a long day browsing contemporary art at the MALBA or a stroll through the Recoleta Cemetery. It opens at 4pm, so it’s also an ideal spot to pregame your Don Julio steakhouse dinner with a glass of rosé (just note it’s closed Mondays and Tuesdays). If you’re looking to get a crash course in the history of Argentine wine—while sampling the best each region has to offer—contact them on Instagram to book a private tasting for your group (available in English or Spanish)." - annie bacher

"Wines by the Glass in Palermo Soho With a smart and simple chalkboard menu of cheese plates, salads, sandwiches made with homemade bread, good coffee, and Argentinian wines by the glass, Pain et Vin is a lovely venue for lunch or an afternoon glass of Malbec rosado. The Palermo Soho eatery doubles as a tasting space and shop: look for Friday evening events open to the public, or stop by to choose from the excellent selection of boutique wines to take on a picnic to the park."

Was looking for a non touristy wine bar that could help me learn about Argentina wines and this place was amazing. The owner explained each one and the history behind the maker. I was looking for full bodied super dry and each one of these was exactly that. It wasn’t the standard wine tasting nor flight. They curated the selection based on the experience I was looking for. Did 6 wines and some small plates, all amazing.

Google
This wine shop is truly a hidden gem 🍷 We were very confused thinking you needed a reservation, and almost didn't visit because of this. The website says there are tastings at 4:30pm and 6pm, but I promise you - just show up during there open hours and they'll accommodate you. They are so nice!! We tried our best to say hello and communicate in Spanish before asking if they spoke English, and to our relief they did! They are very passionate about the wine industry in Argentina and we learned so much while tasting several wines. The tasting itself is 4 wines with local cheeses, bread and olive oil to accompany it. However, I'm fairly certain we tasted closer to 6 or 7!

Google
Great atmosphere with a large selection of wine bottles. You can either buy a bottle to go or drink it there. If you choose to drink in-house, there is a slightly higher price. The staff is very nice, attentive, and able to make wine recommendations as needed. Credit cards are accepted.

Google
We stumbled upon a true gem of a wine bar in Buenos Aires, and it was an absolutely delightful experience, largely thanks to the incredible service provided by April. From the moment we walked in, April greeted us with a warm, genuine smile that instantly made us feel welcome. Her knowledge of the wine list was truly impressive – she didn't just rattle off names, but instead took the time to understand our preferences and offered thoughtful recommendations that perfectly hit the mark. We were looking for something local, and her suggestion of a Tannat from a lesser-known boutique vineyard was an absolute revelation. April was attentive without being intrusive, always appearing just when we needed her, whether it was to top off our glasses or to answer our questions about the region's winemaking history. She struck the perfect balance between professional and friendly, making us feel like valued guests rather than just customers. The atmosphere of the bar was cozy and inviting, but it was April's exceptional service that truly elevated our evening from a good night out to a truly memorable one.

Google
Really great spot for wine and small plates! They always have different wine bottles open for you to try a different glass of wine, and will also recommend different ones based on what you’re eating. The cauliflower is a must try! Duck confit was lovely and the sweetbreads were good but a little salty. Super cute spot that I will return to! Free wifi and indoor and outdoor seating available!

Google
Lovely people! Lovely place!! They have great wines and knowledge!! Area is so beautiful and the owner was so kind! She even gifted me the frozen bag they have for their wines which was such an amazing idea to have your wine cooled!! Thank you so much!! 😊 loved that place!! ❤️

Google
Favorite wine bar in BA. Amazing staff that go above and beyond to get you a good wine. They popped a bottle that was not even « by the glass » just because they wanted us to have it. Natural and low intervention wines mostly. And pricing very good 6k for a glass.

Google
One of the best spots we went to in Palermo. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and picked out 5 great wines for us to try in a mini tasting based on our own tastes. 10/10 experience. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Yelp
Great food, great wine. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. We're visiting Argentina for a couple weeks and this was the best meal we had.

Yelp
Lovely wine bar with simple yet delicious tapas. The service is friendly and knowledgeable about all kinds of local wine. The vibe is cozy and romantic but not too dark. They have indoor seating and an interior patio as well as a few tables out front. I highly recommend the Brussel sprouts with chorizo.

Yelp
During my last visit to BA, I decided to do a wine tasting at Pain et Vin. Emailed in advance and made a reservation for the same day. They were super responsive. The tasting was amazing for the simple fact that it was more like a wine class than a tasting that we are used to in the US. Gabriela (the wine somm) explained the various wine regions in Argentina besides the popular Mendoza. Equipped with maps of the different wine regions, Gabriela explains why different grapes thrive in different areas of Argentina. I am a bit of a wine geek, so I was loving all the wine facts. The tasting itself consisted of four wines which spanned a diverse range of grapes from different parts of Argentina. From the native Torrontes to Pinot Noir to Malbec to Cabernet Franc, it is a wonderful tour of the wine diversity of Argentina. The wine tasting/class also includes homemade bread and a cheese spread to pair with the delicious wines. All in all, it was one of the best wine tastings I have done in any country. Special shout out to Gabriela for such great service. If you do a tasting, be sure to ask for her. Que viva Argentina!

Yelp
This was an unplanned stop on our first day in Argentina and possibly one of the highlights! As we were heading to Mendoza wine country a few days later, this was a great place for an intro into Argentine wine. Also, a really fun group of folks from around the world! Pain et Vin are great hosts!

Yelp
The couple that runs this wine shop is very knowledgeable, as is the employee that helped us with our tasting. We had 8 different, delicious wines, accompanied by great olive and fantastic cheese. Is this too many superlatives? Maybe, but we really enjoyed the place and wish there were something like it nearby home.

Yelp
Wine here. Dine here. Never leave here. Pain et Vin is amazing. The owner is very friendly and speaks flawless English. She is also very knowledgable about wine. Pain et Vin was recommended to us by our hotel, Glu Boutique Hotel, and we wined here and dined here twice. My chicken guacamole sandwich was amazing and I loved every wine I tasted. This place is such a gem and a piece of tranquility in the bustling city. I can only hope they open a shop in Seattle so I continue wining and dining at Pain et Vin.

Yelp
I wasn't going to have time to go to Mendoza on this trip, but I wanted a unique wine experience. Pain et Vin delivered. I also wanted to try wines that I couldn't buy in the US. I reserved a wine tasting, and it ended up being just me. The first wine was selected, but the rest would be chosen as we talked, learned more about what I like, what I was smelling and tasting - it was an incredible experience. The shop smells amazing as the sour dough is made in house and the cheese pairings could not have been more perfect - tasting how they changed the wine and having the opportunity to learn about how to best pair what I was drinking made for an incredible first night. I also bought a lot of wine - they packed it up (twice, long story) and helped me figure out how easily it would be to get the wine to my next destination rather than shipping back to the US, saving me a few hundred dollars. I can't thank Pain et Vin enough for the perfect first night in Buenos Aires, and I can't recommend this place enough.

Yelp
Fantastic environment and staff - had 2 wine tastings and asked for them to be different. We were allowed to give specific preferences. Spent an hour sipping and enjoying. Very cute place if you are already checking out Palermo!

Yelp
Amazing place. We booked a wine tasting in advance and Gabriela was our sommelier. She was very knowledgeable about wine in general, and the wines of Argentina in particular. We tried 6 different wines, including excellent Malbec but also varieties from Salta and Patagonia. All were unique and lovely. We also had great bread and a cheese board which paired nicely with the wines. We left with 2 bottles to take home! It looks like they serve great lunches here as well.

Yelp
A fantastic place to relax and have a few glasses of wine! My wife and I have visited twice on our trip and will definitely be going back. On our first visit we each ordered a tasting flight. Eleonora expertly described each wine and the growing regions in perfect English. The tastings were served with a basket of fresh bread accompanied by some delicious olive oil. On our second visit we skipped straight to full glasses. We tried a red and a rose, both delicious. Eleonora was again a gracious host. The space is calm, with nice music and fast wifi. Perfect for relaxing after a day of wandering around Palermo and a great spot for a pre-diner drink.

Yelp
Great selection of Wines and Paul the house Sommelier Knows his Job at perfection. They bake their own bread too and the sándwiches are delicious. Great place to chill with a glas of wine and a bite any Day and time.

Yelp
Lovely little café in Palermo on a quiet street with trees and the bike lane out front. I know this as a lunch spot with fresh and tasty salads as well as sandwiches. Delis are hard to come by in BA but Pan gets the salad and sandwich game down right using ingredients and combinations that make me not miss home at all. I'll have to try the wines as this is supposedly the key of their proposal. Other things to note are the high ceilinged dinning room with a big long high top table great for groups or wine tastings. Speaking of wine tastings I don't think they do events but they should!

Yelp
Such tasty wines. Great value for money and service. Wish it were open all night! We had a tasting flight which surprised us by coming with a plate of cheeses and some breads. If you're in town, this intimate setting will put you at ease.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this placed, great wine selection, including "Orange wine" and really friendly owners, highly recommended.

Yelp
Fantastic find on Gorriti! We stumbled on this place last December after shopping at a custom menswear shop. They offered wine tasting, excellent lattes and we didn't feel right leaving without a taste from the bakery so we grabbed some sourdough before departure. Can't wait to make it back to this spot when we are back in buenos aires!

Yelp
Outstanding! Great atmosphere, great service, impressive wine selection. Small place with only 4 or 5 small tables and a bar. Get one of their cheese platters - cheeses are average but the bread - baked in-house - is phenomenal. Chill with a glass of wine and recharge before resuming your exploration of this great city.

Yelp
Perfect place to taste and learn about Wine. Excellent bread, freshly made snacks. A must

Yelp
Luckily came here on a food tour by the awesome food writer pickupthefork.com and is now in my top 3 experiences this trip to BA. This luxurious concept - house made authentic bread + cheese + curated wines is made all the more fun by owner/operator Eleanora. She's a straight forward, kick ass, wine ninja and this place will make you fall in love with all things wine in Argentina. Do not miss this spot!!

Yelp
I keep coming back to this place and I can't get enough. Very chilled and calm. Good prices, knowledgeable staff, solid selection and cozy patio. The only thing I don't understand about this place is why it's not packed everyday.

Yelp
Fantastic staff who helped me pick out wines for gifts. Spoke English and was super knowledgeable. Overall a great place to chat about wine with people who are passionate about it.

Yelp
Excellent wines, great bread, served by super friendly and welcoming owners. Very chill place to hang out, or just pop in for a quick glass and pick up a bottle. Have made new friends at this place too

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place while visiting a friend. Amazing food, reasonable prices, and generous service.

Yelp
she dragged a chalkboard size menu of the day toward us which might be the tradition of the place but didn't help making my already aging eyes feel any better. she offered some salads some sandwiches and mentioned wines served by the glass, red, white, rose, promo (cheaper) and 'especial' (not as cheap as promo). her wine description helped us know that rose is reddish, sauvignon blanc is fruitier than chardonnay and that wines from chile are more expensive than local wines. and that's how it ended, with a not too appetizing salad, salty, the staff staring at us without much to do or say and two glasses of wine i don't remember much about. two stars*.

Yelp
really enjoyed this place such knowledgeable and friendly people serving excellent food and wine
