"Small in size but high in style, Paine Field features sleek midcentury modern design elements, natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows, Italian marble check-in desks, plush seats, and a Bose sound system. It recently started welcoming commercial flights."

Airports (and Terminals) You'll Actually Want to Spend Time in

Google
Amazing airport for plane watching. From rows of Boeing 777-X and KC-46 sitting on the tarmac due to certification issues to brand new Boeing 787s returning from test flights, this is the place to experience widebody galore. The occasional small private planes add a sense of contrast in a field of massive twin aisle beasts. Pretty cool place overall.

Google
Paine Field is hands down the best way to fly! The experience feels like flying private—no long lines, no stress, just a smooth and relaxing start to vacation. We flew nonstop to Las Vegas, and while it was a bit pricier than SeaTac, skipping the long drive, parking hassle, and crowded terminals made it absolutely worth it. Plus, being able to enjoy a drink at the gate was a great bonus. Highly recommend!

Google
My favorite airport - hands down. Limited flights means near zero delays. I save at least 2 hours compared to the commute and delays of SeaTac. I hope they keep it small. The inside aesthetic feels welcoming and modern.

Google
Such a great airport to fly out of. Quick check-in and security. The bar and lounge are second to none. The entire place is a lounge. Constantly adding new destinations. The best way to avoid the hassle and pain that is SeaTac. 2 breezeway gate terminals and 1 tarmac walk-on gate terminal. Great parking directly attached to the airport much cheaper than SeaTac. It is worth the slightly higher ticket prices for what feels like luxury airport experience. ✈🛫

Google
One of the best regional airport terminals I have ever been to, the check in and security was a breeze. The bar has a great selection of libations, and the waiting area but the gates is cozy and the chairs are comfy. Great place to fly in and out of without the hassle that SEATAC gives you!

Google
Absolutely the nicest airport I've ever been to!! Denver has some nice features, but Paine Field is amazing. The seats all have outlets and charging stations, there are two lovely restaurants, including a Beecher's (yum!), and the atmosphere is very upscale. Fireplaces, comfortable seating, and even lovely single stall gender neutral restrooms that are clean and modern. Love it and think I'll be flying out of here as often as i can!

Google
Lovely experience at community day. Everyone was so wonderful. So many informative stalls. Free glider plane rides for children. Hangar was very nice. Gift shop was expensive though .

I used to love Paine field for all the reasons in other people’s reviews. It’s great if everything goes according to plan. However if there are even small problems, your flight could be cancelled and you may find yourself stranded with no good options. I had this experience - my flight was cancelled after 3hr of delays. Alaska agents at Paine couldn’t get me on another flight until 1 day after I needed to be at my destination. I ended up taking a very expensive Lyft to Seatac and flying a different airline that could actually get me to my destination. SeaTac is big and noisy but at least there are lots of airplanes and crew there, and that gives options in case anything goes wrong. At Paine if the smallest thing goes wrong you are out of luck. I also lost a significant amount of trust after it was revealed one of their pilots had been taking hallucinogenic mushrooms and nearly crashed a plane from Paine to SF due to a mental breakdown - look it up if you don’t know the story. That kind of stuff only happens at little airports. Air travel is too risky and expensive to leave t plans in the hands of a small outfit like Paine. My advice is just fly SeaTac

Yelp
Small airport. Less people. Easy parking. Very clean. There is a cute little Cafe' that offers bakery items, hot or cold sandwiches, nuts, hard boiled eggs, chips, beverages etc. Next to that is Caffe Vita. It's wide open with plenty of seating. I love flying out of here!

Tonto N.

Yelp
Fly in here on a regular basis. Too bad they have limited flights and United airlines no longer services this airport. Excellent facility, clean, polite staff, good security. Parking is very tight and pricey Very clean facility. Shuttle lot has heated waiting room. Loophole is to not rent cars in Everett to save some money ( you can thank me later). Good food services. One coffee shop, comfortable terminal. Love the fake fireplaces. Wonderful cozy airport. Two rental car places nearby but I recommend traveling with Lyft to save money. Hilton nearby. Flights after 10pm have limited services ( no shuttle, no rental cars). Try it you'll like it!!!!!!

Yelp
Imagine an entire airport that feels like an airport lounge. Paine Field is truly the heaven of airports, when it works out. Flights here can be more expensive than into SEA, but sometimes you will get lucky and find a cheaper deal. There are also limited locations, but I find it easy to get to and from California from here. The whole thing is so new and modern and built for comfort. The bathrooms are glowing, spacious, and clean and the staff is very kind. You are limited with food options and airlines, but the overall experience is so comfortable that I hardly notice a lack. Sometimes, the difference in money spent for flights cancels out with the easy and relatively inexpensive parking options around Paine. If I could, timing and price wise, I would always fly out of Paine.

Yelp
Nice convenient airport if you are staying in the northern Seattle area and have a flight that can depart from it. Generally you will pay a premium for flying in and out of here but if your final destination is the cosmopolitan high streets of Mukilteo the convenience is more than worth it. The terminal itself is still relatively new. It's really small don't expect a bunch of shopping and lounges. Instead, it's chill, clean and surprisingly well considered in its aesthetics. Recommended!

Yelp
First time at this airport and I was pretty impressed. Parking: two choices of either $24 a day for economy parking which is a lot that's a little further than the premium parking which is $34 a day. When we came on a Friday morning, there was plenty of parking and no need to reserve ahead of time. The economy parking was only a five minute walk to the door. Terminals: they're only three terminals here so it's a very small airport. It looked like they mainly or maybe only had Alaska flights out. I think the only downside of this airport is my flight had been rescheduled multiple times here and I think that's unusual for Alaska. So I'm thinking that because it's a smaller airport maybe the flights are less scheduled and things happen more often to make things Become rescheduled. Lounge area: the reason everyone thinks this is a premium airport is because the entire terminal is what you would expect a fancy club lounge to look like- it's quite beautiful. There is leather backed seats, facing the window, she seats in the middle, and restaurants lining one side of The terminal. It was quiet and calm and the decor added to the atmosphere so it just felt very "premium "and "upscale." Overall, I definitely would come back here and fly out here if I have an available flight. It is much calmer and less crazy than SEA.

Yelp
Predatory parking fees. Two nights at the Discount Parking cost $72.00 Holy rip off.

Vicki B.

Yelp
This is the most civilized airport! We're in Marysville. My sister lives in San Diego and flew up to visit; there are non-stops to PAE. We thought that was a good enough reason (no driving down to SeaTac). But there's so much more. We drove around to the front and it's just... a door. No "building for departures". We parked to look up when the flight would come in and a nice officer knocked on the window. He asked, "Are you waiting for someone coming in from San Diego? They've just landed, they'll be out soon. I can't let you park here. But, do you see that building over there with the neon sign? That's parking lot P2. Pull into there to park. The first hour is free". So we did. Then we walked back to the nice calm warm building with soft lighting and waited by the nice calm baggage carousel for the passengers to arrive. And the first hour of parking was free.

Yelp
I absolutely love the airport in Everett! It's such a quick and easy experience flying in and out of here. The smaller size means less time spent navigating through crowds or waiting in long lines, which makes for a much more relaxed start or end to my travels. The convenience and efficiency are unbeatable. I genuinely look forward to the addition of more destinations in the future because I'd choose Everett over SeaTac any day. If you're looking for an stress-free flying experience, this airport is the way to go!

Yelp
Avoid SeaTac if your travel allows for it. This Airport is a classy, cozy Pacific Northwest gem.

Gail F.

Yelp
PAE is a great alternative to SEA without the convenience of the light rail connection to Seattle. I would fly out of PAE again. The security line moves reasonably quickly and the baggage service is reasonably staffed to meet demand at peak times. The lounge/bar area is chic and very well lit! My only concerns are 1. There are no lounges, and the food options in the terminal are limited. 2. Seating and room to queue for the gate is limited, and each gate area can be cramped during boarding.

Genevieve T.

Yelp
This place is a GEM! We flew in & out over Christmas and it was the absolute best experience! The bartender, Lauren, is a font of information. She made us some amazing bloody Mary's on New Year's Eve kicking off our travel. She knew a ton about the history & we felt like locals by the time our flight boarded. Apparently the owner, Brett, encourages people to chat with one another so there are zero tv's! And he's right, everyone talked to each other. The check-in & TSA were all of 10 minutes. It was like we flew on a PJ! Plenty of seating with plug-ins everywhere! We were left wondering how we could fly in & out of there ALWAYS! Thanks!

Yelp
Flying through Paine is always a treat. If you are traveling from the north end, its definitely worth the extra fare to avoid commuting to Sea-Tac. There aren't too many direct flights from PAE, and mostly Westcoast and desert south destinations (CA, AZ, NV, ID) with one AK direct, predominantly Alaska Airlines. TSA is a delight compared to Sea-Tac as well. TSA Pre-Check line but no Clear (honestly, not needed). Get there early enough to enjoy, a crafted cocktail, Cafe Vita coffee, or Beecher's artisenal meals and snacks. You'll definitely feel like you're traveling boutique Airport or private jet terminal with only 4 gates total throughout the whole airport. Bathrooms do not give a public restroom vibe at all, from the black tile interior to the single orchid decor. Parking is a breeze, the lots are so close! For 2 night 3 full day parking it was $102. Pick up and drop off is also stress free. I can't sing Paine's praises enough!

Latifa S.

Yelp
Easy peasy!! This is the cutest and smallest little airport. I totally love and dig it. Such a fun and small airport. So easy to fly in and out of. I mean what's not to like besides the point that they don't have many flights. Coming here is a breeze. Parking is paid lot but plenty enough. You don't need to struggle for most things you do at SEA including traffic. Obviously it's Alaska airline when you come here to fly but it's also a great airline so it's a win. Food options are a little limited but they do have a lounge. And the views of many seaplanes flying in and out is great too. I enjoy my flights from here!! Such a bonus in current extra stressful travel times.

Adri R.

Yelp
Becoming 1 of my favorite airport to fly in and out of. Security is quick and easy. They only gave 4 gates. An only fly to 9 different west coast locations. The airport is always clean. Staff is always friendly. The seating area feels like a lounge in downtown Bellevue.

Jennifer J.

Yelp
Imagine, if you will, arriving at the airport an hour before your flight, parking mere steps from the terminal, and sitting in front of a fireplace at your flight's gate just 8 minutes after leaving your car. This, my friends, is not a fantasy enjoyed by some wealthy person flying on their private jet. This is the reality of flying out of PAE. Add to that the terrific bar featuring Beecher's cheese products (and a darn fine bloody mary) and this elevated airport experience gets even better. With its subdued colors, leather furnishings, and mellow vibe it's more like flying out of your own comfy living room, than a major metropolitan airport. But PAE does have a few drawbacks which are going to keep it at 4 stars for moi: 1) The parking situation is annoying...and expensive. You can pay $30/day to park in the very attractive close-to-the-terminal spots. Or $20/day to park a little farther away in the "budget" area. Other than that, there are NO options as you would find at a larger airport. For whatever reason, independent parking operations have not yet started near PAE and this keeps prices high since the airport itself has a monopoly on parking. 2) While the food at the bar/Beecher's is delish, it's all served warm so it's inconvenient to take your leftovers on the plane. Or, for that matter, to even order a to-go sandwich for your flight. Would be nice if they had some grab-and-go options other than a few (expensive) options at the "Beechers store" in front of gate 1. 3) There just aren't a lot of flights out of PAE. So chances are you'll have to change planes, especially if you're flying across the country. Even though flights out of PAE tend to cost a little more, I'm willing to pay the premium NOT to have to drive to Sea Tac. Sadly, even with a premium it's not always possible/realistic to fly out of PAE. For my upcoming trip to the East coast I'll be flying out of SEA (and am already dreading the drama of it). If you can find the right flight, and don't mind paying the parking premium, PAE is a winner for flying out of the Seattle area. Just remember to pack your own sandwich.

Angeline C.

Yelp
Been wanting to fly out of Everett for awhile now and finally got to experience it. Wow! What a beautiful airport and so chic! Has a lounge feel with the modern decor, fireplace on, dim lighting & slick furniture. I will be booking more flights out of PAE for sure!

H. H.

Yelp
Terminal is nice and comfortable with quick security lines. However, food options inside the terminal are horrible - the only place to get food is a cheese store! No options for regular sodas or snacks anywhere - only over-priced artisanal sodas and weird cheese-centric snacks.

Jeremy S.

Yelp
I wish I could take all of my flights out of Paine Field. TSA is virtually no line, the inside is all clean and new, and everything is just so easy. It sure beats Seatac and that busy, crowded, lame airport. I almost think a layover might be worth it if I got to leave from here. Use this airport whenever you can!

Trista H.

Yelp
Our first time flying out of PAE. PAE is in our backyard almost at a 10 minute drive. We paid extra money for our tickets to depart and arrive to/from WA/CA. We arrived 2-hours early as standard. We waited 1.25 hours just in the check-in line. A considerable amount of people in the exact same line ended up missing their flight due to "short-staffing". Due to short-staffing, our return flight from CA was re-scheduled to SeaTac. We each received an Alaska airline $25 credit for the inconvenience; however, the credit did nothing to lessen our frustration. PAE does not have the same updated security technology that CA airport does which meant that all electronics had to be removed from all bags. Another irritating non-valuable time-wasting process to get through. Once we passed through all security we were able to find a couple seats at the Upper Case lounge; an extension of Beecher's. We had a couple (our flight ended up delayed 45 minutes) Spicy Bloody Mary's for $14. The Beecher's Cheese Stick helped absorb the shock of the drink price. My wife and dad had a couple Red Beers with Rainier for $9 each. It would be helpful if the Beecher's café listed the prices on their products. Staff was busy so it was impossible to ask pricing questions. Annoying. While waiting for our delayed flight, my wife and I shared a Cheese Stick for $1.99 and a small Mac & Cheese for $7.99. Overall, PAE is convenient for us due to the location. Food and drink prices are costly. PAE lacks last minute gift shops.

MariaElena S.

Yelp
Everything is amazing here!!! I absolutely will fly from Paine field from now on!!! I wish the cost of parking would be better but I will take it to vet driving to Seattle and paying for that nightmare.

Thao N.

Yelp
Wow, this is like a hidden gem, it's a nice ass airport that is very easy to get in and out of. Like, I could have called an Uber by the time I landed and get to the ride share area before they even get there, really quick and straight forward walk. It's a small airport, down side is that there's very limited flights that will go by this airport in Everett. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)

Andrew M.

Yelp
I love this place for the same reasons the other 100 people gave this airport 5 stars. For starters very easy to navigate, you're either gate 1 or gate 2. Pretty simple, right? Staff is friendly which is very rare at an airport. TSA was much more willing to help and not scream bloody murder like Orlando or Kennedy airport. The things that hurt this place aren't enough to take stars away. Things to eat are super limited and bathrooms are much more limited, no biggie. I had such a hard time believing people gave this place bad reviews that I went and found some and they all talk about parking issues. I don't know what's changed, but I do know my 4 days of parking was less than half is what people a year ago claim to paid. So I assume it's better now.

Nellie C.

Yelp
Such a convenient little baby airport! It's very easy to maneuver through and more convenient than Sea-Tac, but at the same time, it lacks many things too. They don't open until 5am, so if your flight is like at 6~something, don't have a heart attack, like me, and that you won't make your flight on time. It's not like the plane is gonna arrive at some darkened airport! Lol (It's very reminiscent of the Kansas City Airport, pre-construction.) They have great vintage aviation style decor, only 1 little shop/eatery, lots of places to sit, once you've checked in and unisex bathrooms. Overall, it's really cozy and convenient, if you're in the north end.

J M.

Yelp
Flew to Vegas Monday April 1, arrived around 4:30pm and there was literally no one in line at TSA so I breezed right through. That's a first. So yeah, I'm giving this five stars. Some people like to complain about expensive parking, I hired an SUV from NG Towncar for $96 each way including tip (I live in Shoreline) instead of paying the $30 a day or whatever for my 7 day trip. The only thing that would've made my experience better was if I chartered a private jet (PJ Not in the budget) instead of flying meh Alaska. But I will recommend the pretzel sliders if you're going first class. If you use the app, ignore the boarding notification because they actually won't start until about 20 to 25 minutes after you get it.

Sean H.

Yelp
I'm impressed with the improvements made to the gate area, check in and baggage claim Alaska airlines appears to have made. Restrooms are pleasantly manual wheelchair accessible, as well as the ADA accessible restroom. Also, so much less stressful getting to, getting around and leaving Everett airport vs SeaTac... One snack bar on the other side of security, but some vending machines in ground transportation lobby.

Peter F.

Yelp
An all out assault on humans who can't eat dairy. Zero of the breakfast menu items at this airport's only low end Wisconsin cheese wannabe cafe can be made without cheese. You can ask them to scrape it off but they laugh and shame you and you have to wait 10 minutes longer. What kind of airport doesn't offer non-dairy menu items in 2024? Even Wichita airport has modern and healthy food options. "Paine Field, we welcome you back to the 1950s!" Also this airport doesn't have enough seats. Good luck sitting together if your party size is more than two

Gayl B.

Yelp
What a different experience for an airport. This almost feels private. The waiting area by the gate is so warm and inviting. Bathrooms are single stall. You also get to see the new Boeing planes waiting to be unwrapped. This airport has some major advantages over SEA if your travels take you north of Seattle!! Convenient without the mass of people. Rental cars are not on site. You take a shuttle. Uber/Lyft service the area, too.

Emily H.

Yelp
I'm kicking myself for not flying out of Paine sooner. The airport is so nice, it sort of feels like a boutique hotel rather than an airport. Also, this could be a coincidence, but everyone interacted with (employees, flight crew, even passengers) was SO nice. I swear everyone was in a great mood. I can see why, I mean look at this place! How could you not be happy?! So far, it only services Cali, AZ, Portland, Spokane, and Reno but I am definitely going to choose Paine over SeaTac whenever possible. I personally flew from seattle to Spokane and while I didn't notice a big difference in price, adding Paine to my search gave more flight options and I was able to find a better departure time than what SeaTac offered. Some logistics: there's a parking lot out front which is believe is $30/day. It's not that big though so plan accordingly. There's only one baggage carousel (that I saw) and departures/arrivals are right next to each other.

Richard N.

Yelp
Great airport for regional travel. Their new flights to Honolulu are incredibly convenient!

Mircea M.

Yelp
Beautiful Airport easy access no traffic. Why should I go Seattle when I have this opportunity.

Tanis L.

Yelp
Living in the City of Shoreline, just north of Seattle, we have two main airports to choose from, Paine Field and SeaTac. Paine Field does not have quite the spread in flight offerings as SeaTac and the food options by the gates are fewer. The fewer offerings tend to correlate with less heavy traffic within the airport on the whole. Makes traveling through here less of a hassle than at SeaTac. However, the airport is easy to access, closer to our house, especially in heavy traffic, and has an overall cozy ambiance. Great airport to catch a flight to a destination not too far away.

Kari M.

Yelp
What an absolute treat for us! We were booked out of SeaTac but the flight was cancelled. Alaska put us on an outgoing flight out of Paine field and wow, it was spectacular! It will be our go for airport for flights up and down the west coast!! Cannot say enough about it-list sitting abs watching the planes come abs go was a treat in itself. Gas fireplace in the lounge area and safari chairs facing the large windows to watch the planes was a great way to begin our vacation. There is a Beechers cafe, grilled breakfast sandwiches, heated pastries and a wonderful latte stand. There is also a large bar, and water bottle filling station.

Rachel H.

Yelp
Okay this was a haul to get to, and you have to aim for a flight not at peak commute hours, but what a great small airport experience if you do! Paine Field is a good alternative to the crunch at SeaTac. The decor is like a Starbucks Reserve, full of dark woods, leather chairs and fireplaces. Fancy! One thing is that seating here can be limited, or was when we arrived, so if you hit peak commute hours you may be relegated to a game of musical chairs, till you find your spot. They have a Beecher's Food store with yummy cheese. In all, impressed. Super swanky small airport. It can be very expensive (double the cost) to get a rental car here, compared to SeaTac, so that may offset the cost savings, but I did note our airfare was lower here, from the Bay Area, than a flight to SeaTac.

Sara S.

Yelp
Although there are no lounges this whole airport is basically like a lounge. All the interior is new and TSA is faster compared to SeaTac. Checking a bag is also much quicker at this airport. The bathrooms are private and (very nice), and they have a Beechers Cheese I adore. All in all I prefer this airport and try to fly out of this one when I can.

Christine M.

Yelp
this is the very best airport!!! so nice to NOT have to deal with I5 and Seattle! the employees are happier and the facility is clean! love the security tight!

Big Andy K.

Yelp
I have flown into PAE a number of times from Anchorage. I am visiting relatives in Lynnwood. Far better than flying into Seatac. A very well organized and well run airport. Luggage is starting to come out to the baggage area as I enter the area. Getting on and off of the airport property is easy, no time at all. I fly Alaska airlines which I love, and the agents are always fantastic just like Paine Field!

Britt B.

Yelp
Smooooooooooth flying out of here. Recent trip to Santa Ana, we flew in and out of here and it was a dream compared to SeaTac. There's one Alaska and one United counter, a small cafe that serves Beecher's items, sandwiches, soup, salad and espresso. Just a few places to sit and eat, but sufficient. Beyond security (no lines) is another similar cafe, and plenty of seating with a lodge kind of feel. You can walk through the front door and be on your flight in 20 minutes. No need to arrive 2 hours early anymore. The only downfall is that flight times are pretty limited. So, if you are hoping to depart or arrive at a certain time, you may need to switch planes in Seattle or just go to SeaTac after all. The BEST part is that if you have kids or are a big kid yourself, you can walk up to the fence outside and actually watch the planes take off and land right next to wear the planes taxi up to the gate. Super cool experience all the way around!

Julie S.

Yelp
This is my new favorite airport, and I will always fly out of here now over SeaTac whenever possible! It's super cute, little, and everything feels kinda retro but also really new. The TSA line was crazy short when we were there; only one family ahead of us! It was just so refreshing compared to the chaos of SeaTac- not crowded, individual & private bathrooms, and the wonderful Upper Case Bar to sit at and have drinks with yummy Beecher's food. It was the most painless airport experience I have ever had, and takes you back to when airline travel was fun! I can't wait to fly out of here again!

Fen F.

Yelp
We live 15 minutes from PAE so this airport is ideal for our frequent travel to Las Vegas and Orange County. There is never a line at this small quaint airport. The interior decor is welcoming and tastefully done. There is a full bar and Beecher's Handmade Cheese for food and coffee. Each bathroom has its own sink. The staff are friendly. I would not hesitate to pay extra to fly out of PAE instead of SEA. The only drawback is the limited flights. Otherwise, I highly recommend checking it out.

Erin H.

Yelp
Got to PAE at 9am for a flight that boarded at 10 and departed at 10:40am Pros: - the jazzy, lounge music is very calming - customer service is friendly and doesn't seemed stressed - there was no line for TSA (when I went I was the only one!) -waiting chairs are comfier -waiting areas have phone USB ports and outlets -great views of planes taking off Cons: -my flight didn't board until 10:20am -only one bar/not many food options -limited parking (but I parked at my friends house nearby anyways) -you have to walk out to the plane which would be more unpleasant in bad weather -arrival and departure drop off is in the same small area which could be an issue when more people start flying here

Bob L.

Yelp
2nd time flying in and out of Paine Field, really nice airport, friendly clean and just the best airport I have ever flown into or out of! Alaska I guess is the lone airlines now, WE do hope that a couple of things will change and grown here are our requests: 1. More flights and times for Alaska flying in and out of Paine what we do hope will soon happen is that Alaska will get to fly into Ontario CA (ONT airport) there are NO flights out of ONT to Paine Non-stop as we speak, not a non-stop flight so SNA Airport is so congested and the 91 freeway is horrible to get to Santa Ana. 2. Paine needs to have a rental car area most airports do, so for good growth of Paine, let's get this going, let's do it!! I couldn't find a place in the airport that sells magazines, etc. the coffee bar and small deli is nice has fresh sandwiches, juices etc. Overall, the airport is really one-of-a-kind airport! Every employee is helpful!! We will only fly into this airport don't like SEA-TAC just to busy!! So the best in growth to you Alaska Air!

Chenda N.

Yelp
Excellent airport, clean, friendly, quiet, stress free, and very convenient. Intimate and almost like your very own private airport. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Loved every part if it. We Ubered in and it was so easy to get in and out. Cafe Vira cafe and Beechers Cafe inside. Each chair has plug ins and there is a fully stocked beautiful bar and lounge with fireplace.

Doris W.

Yelp
Paine Field opened to the public recently, so far I think only Alaska and United fly out of here and to limited cities (mainly CA, Vegas, and Phoenix), but I fly to California all the time, so I was so excited to fly out of here last week! We flew PAE to LAX, which was like maybe $20 more to fly out of PAE vs SeaTac? This airport is only 5 miles from our house, so of course I am going to spend $20 more to fly outta here! Pros: - they only have 2 gates, so we showed up 1 hr 15 min before our flight and were at our gate within 15 min - Arrivals and Departures is all the same - Alaska Airlines flies out of here( my fave airline as of right now) - Beecher's Store inside of the gates - beautiful modern facilities - small airport Cons: - limited restrooms - I read overnight parking was a prob, we took a Lyft from Lynnwood. We couldn't seem to book an Uber to this airport - we had Lyft pick up, but the rideshare pickup area is kinda confusing, you walk out of the airport towards the ground transportation signs, but it leads you nowhere/in a circle Really more pros than cons and I will def be flying out of here more often if i can!

Karl K.

Yelp
Yes, Paine Field is a viable option for business and pleasure. We love this upscale community terminal. Alaska Air and United has enough cities covered that it has become our first choice for travel. We are just a 15 minutes east of the airport, fortunately, not in the flight path. Some grumble that flights are more expensive; however, this is a review about Paine Field not airline pricing policies. Do yourself a favor, look at Paine Field next time you book your flight. you will love the non-exist lines, the close proximity of your car, and the short walk to your flight (about 100 ft).

Yelp
I enjoy flying in and out of a smaller airport. The worse things about Payne Field is the TSA. They seem to always power trip at this location. The airport is quick and parking is easy. It beats driving to SeaTac. Has a bar and a place to get food as well. It's new, which makes it nicer.

Yelp
Small airport but very nice and of course new. There are outlets everywhere near the seats to charge your electronics. Very comfortable seating that I wouldn't mind being here early to relax in. Some seats face the windows for a nice view of the airport strip. Right now it's not too busy because flights aren't fully booked yet. I got here 30 minutes before my flight and walked straight to the TSA line and was done in a few minutes. That was a great experience not having to wait. This is a perfect location if you're visiting the area because you can avoid SeaTac and its crowds.

Yelp
PARKING. Its a problem here. We got a low airfare thru Alaska with their inaugural fare offer; and i thought, cool, a shorter drive to PAE and small airport will make this a breeze. The PAE website regarding parking is a, well, piece of doo-doo. Just says they have an economy lot. No info on size, availability, etc. And $20/day, really high (goes up from there). Not until I read Yelp reviews complaining about ALL lots being packed did I find needed info - I cant 'plan' to park here. So, having to revert to Uber or Shuttle Express, which is going to add $140 to the cost - eliminating all time and $$ savings. And no, I'm not bothering family or friends to drive us. The waiting area is very nice - an array of tables and chairs, most with convenient USB outlets, and a big viewing window. No food options I could see. Due to small size, security was quick, and baggage claim a snap. Gonna keep going to Sea-Tac from now on until they resolve the parking issue, i'm sure entrepreneurs are busy setting up 3rd party spaces/services to do this.

Yelp
All in all, a great airport experience! I live in nearby Lynnwood so the 10 minute traffic-free drive was pleasurable, compared to the congestion filled 30 mile trip to and from SeaTac at peak traffic times. That dreadful afternoon return trip can easily take 90 minutes of stop and go. Limited and expensive parking is the biggest issue here at Paine Field as there are no off site lots to supplement and compete with the on airport lots. I hitched a ride with a neighbor who works at nearby Boeing. He dropped me off and I actually enjoyed the 10 minute $20 Uber ride home. (Unsure why there were so many extra charges on a $13 base fare). This airport is very compact, clean and well thought out. There isn't a separate line for TSA precheck however, there was no line at all. The blue precheck card given you by the agent exempts you from the standard remove all procedures. There are 4 gates. Some of the flights do board outside while others offer the protection of jetways. There is plenty of comfortable seating that include USB ports and electrical outlets! I am looking forward to additional Alaska Airlines destinations and strongly suggest Boise & Dallas. Adding DFW would open most of the US to this great airport! I looked at going through PDX to fly to Boise next month and it was $125 higher than the direct flight out of SeaTac. This unfortunate disparity means I will have to be selective when I use Paine Field.
