Everyone was very friendly and extremely helpful, my wife and I went here on a date not knowing you needed a reservation but luckily they had room from us! They have a ton of options of pottery you can paint and a very reasonable price. They give very clear instructions on how to make sure your colors pop after firing, they also have stencils for all different designs you are looking for 10/10 definitely coming back!

Friendly staff. Environment is relaxed if you catch their quieter hours. I find this little cafe to be a lot of fun and calming at the same time. I bought their clay to create my own pieces and then return to glaze/color. However, they have so many premade cute ceramic cups, plates, bowls, decors, and etc. for you to paint til your heart content.

Stopped by this charming ceramic house for a quick cup of coffee and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The mocha coffee was outstanding, offering a perfect blend of rich flavor and aroma. What truly sets this place apart is the unique opportunity for customers to buy and paint ceramics. It was delightful to see people of all ages thoroughly enjoying this creative activity. The atmosphere is welcoming and inspiring, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing afternoon. I'm already planning to bring my kids along next time for this wholesome and enjoyable activity, all while savoring their delicious coffee. Highly recommend for a unique and memorable experience!

Brought my friend here for her birthday to paint some pieces. They were out of a lot of the smaller more simple pieces we were both looking forward to paint. Also, we are both new to this experience and were not greeted nor shown the process so had to ask a lot of questions and were often lost which took away from the experience.

GREAT EXPERIENCE! The staff was amazing and the drinks are good. The atmosphere was good and they have a great variety or paints. Looking forward to see how ours turn out.

Visited the first time with my dad and was very happy with it! My dad and I use to go to these types of places when I was growing up so it was so nice to find a place to redo those memories again! I can agree it is a little pricey for it but they have a great variety of items to paint. It was so hard to choose! We went on a Tuesday since it had 1/2 off studio fees. It did get crowded pretty quickly and we went in at open, but it wasn't so crowded that we couldn't navigate. We did make a reservation which made it easier. The coffee was okay. Had nice consistency and temperature but I wasnt too much of a fan of the flavor but I'll give their other options a try next time. The employees were nice and helped when I had questions. We enjoyed our time and I loved how our pieces turned out. Said 7-10 days average for our items to be glazed and they were done in 4 days! Definitely can't wait to go back with more of my family and friends! Thank you for giving me another great memory!

Google
A cute and cozy place to go with friends!! The prices for the ceramics aren’t bad and the workers are friendly. They have a wide variety of pieces that you could paint and good selection of glaze.

We have been going to PG&F for Christmas time for years, have done a number of birthdays there as well. We have also done some of the summer camps and single day events. Which is just to say... There are lots of things you can do here. Painting, by itself, is more than worth the fee. Relaxing and enjoyable, without getting anything out of it. Then your get to keep the stuff you painted, and no matter what your skill level, having something that you created feels good. The staff is super nice and helpful, never had a bad experience. Do yourself a favor and stop by sometime, you don't be sorry.

Yelp
I've been in several times, so this review is a collection of my experiences. This shop is more a 'help yourself' type of atmosphere where you check in at the front, pick out your paints/ pieces, sit down, paint, then check back in at the front to pay. They say they will notify you in 2-3 weeks when the pieces are done, but more than likely you will have to call and ask for an update. The last time I stopped in (after calling to check if my pieces were ready- they were) my ceramics were misplaced and I was told I would get a call to notify me when they were found. I never received a call so I had to call back in -again- to which I explained the situation and after a brief hold on the phone they told me that my piece was at the very front and waiting for me. The person on the phone was not apologetic towards the situation in the slightest bit, and it feels like a trend that the customer service is lacking throughout my visits to Paint Glaze & Fire. They have some cute pieces but I think pricing is on the higher side when you take in to account the painting fees. However, I would probably feel better paying this if I felt valued as a customer. While I've chosen to give them another shot in the past, this past time will more than likely be my last.

Yelp
We had great time painting. It was never getting a call to pick up my grandkids mugs. That cost $100. When we called they couldn't find them. Went there lady was unprofessional will never go back. We will go to the other places available.

Delaney E.

Yelp
loved painting, super fun!! we went on a Tuesday night. I wish I knew her name but the brown haired girl is super sweet, the blonde girl in spandex is rude and unprofessional. if you go talk to the girl with brown hair!!!!

Yelp
Great place for date night, family night, or any excuses to hang out. We didn't try the beverages but I am sure it's tasty. Lots of pottery to pick from, my son truly enjoy the experience. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
After having a bad experience yesterday at a ceramic and paint place at 95th/Nall we went to this place instead, and despite being very busy they were friendly, welcoming, made room for us to paint. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Check to see if they moved. I did my dog's footprint which we use as a coaster. I suggest not using black lettering but rather make an abstract design.

Yelp
We tried to walk in on Saturday afternoon to paint, but they told us we had to make a reservation. So we made a reservation for Sunday the next day. We showed up to paint at our reservation time & none of the staff members explained the process or how to get started. So, I got all the supplies for my kids to get started. The paper to paint on, paint colors, aprons, etc. I was frustrated that we had to make a reservation for zero customer service. Many paints were out, so I had to refill them for my kids. The young staff was rude and dismissive when we asked questions. I tried to use a coupon, but the staff member checking me out acted like I was putting her out. My total bill was around $130. Which I felt was incredibly expensive. Our reservation was made for an hour before closing, and no one told me the closing hours the day before on Saturday when they rudely told me it was reservation only (though they had empty tables & staff members painting). So not only were we rushed, but our paint was dripping from being rushed to finish and leave. It was a horrible experience. I will NOT recommend nor be back.

Yelp
The staff was so helpful! We called and made a reservation, they walked us through everything and were so welcoming. They sanitized the tables in between reservations and everyone had masks on too! It's a great affordable, socially distant way to create!

Yelp
This place is very cool. It is crazy busy so be sure to make reservations. They offer season items, household decor as well as useful items. I went for a pitcher that I wanted to use as a vase . The appointments are normally an hour or two but mine took me 4 hours to paint!!! Be careful with your ambitions, painting glaze is much more challenging than using paints. I'm not much of a painter and as long as you stick to basic designs, piece should turn up good. The turn back time is usually 10-14 days due to holiday time but I received mine within a week. Happy surprise. The staff are super sweet girls willing to help and comfort you along the way. They have a coffee shop, personally I thought the coffee was disgusting. Their smoothies on the other hand were great, fresh made no additives or preservatives. All organic, all delicious. I wish they had more options for vases or household goods, I thought the selection was limited. It is expensive but you're paying for the experience, which I guarantee will be a memorable one. I wasn't a fan of how many kid parties were there. The place isn't big and with space and seating neighbors limited, the noise was constant. I was afraid someone would bump into me and brake my piece. If you are interested in doing glass, you have to book an appointment specifically for that. They don't do walking for glass as it is more complex than clay. Overall, I would go again now that I know these things and better plan it. I want to try my luck with the glass. Maybe avoid going on Saturday afternoon during holiday season.

Yelp
the drinks were amazing and the pottery was very fun to paint and the employees were very nice highly recommended.

Yelp
Grab a cup of coffee and a piece of pottery and let the good times roll! Great little place to meet a friend for a few hours and let the creative juices out. If you've never done something like this make sure to plan to spend a few hours here. The helpful staff will guide you through everything you'll need to know so you can transform a piece of plain pottery into something you'll cherish for years. Luckily for me they also know just how to guide and inspire me to create something that doesn't look like a 5 year old made it (no offense to 5 year olds!!) During my last visit a group of girls (aged about 9/10) arrived for a birthday party. The staff had set up a nice table and laid out the pottery that had been pre-selected, it all looked great and all the girls got the attention they needed. I was surprised to see they were doing a glass fusion craft, I'll have to try that some time too! Also stopping by was a van full of seniors from a local senior citizen home. They all painted mugs and I was quite happy to see that from the young to the young-at-heart everyone was having a good time. Before long we were all up and wandering around looking at each others work and making new friends. Quite the social scene! A week or so later you'll get a call to come and pick up your "fired and glazed" piece, all shiny and in its final form. The unveiling is really fun. Everything looks so pastel when you paint it and then once fired the colors turn out to be so vivid. Truly a lot of fun.

Yelp
We decided to give this place a try during our last visit to the KC area. We are so glad we did because we ABSOLUTELY loved this place! They have both pottery and glass fusion. I chose to do pottery and my husband chose to do glass fusion. In terms of pottery, they have SO many items to choose from. When I visited this place yesterday, they even had a section just for Christmas items. They also have many useful household items that you can decorate. I chose to do a spoon rest for my kitchen. The price was pretty reasonable at $22. There is also a studio fee of $8, but that fee is good for the whole day, which is nice. They have tons of colors to choose from for your pottery and the staff are really friendly and sweet. For glass fusion, they didn't have as big of a selection in terms of pieces, but they do have tons of glass shards and beads to help you decorate your piece. This is the second time my husband has done glass fusion and we found the prices here pretty reasonable. My husband made a 12 x 5 inch piece for $35. The glass fusion does not include a studio fee, which was really nice. We also really appreciated that the staff took the time to show him how to cut glass pieces for his decorative piece. In addition to both the pottery and glass fusion, they also serve smoothies and coffee (both iced and hot), which is fantastic. I would highly recommend the iced mocha. If you check-in on yelp, you get a free drink (up to $4). We definitely took advantage of this deal, along with the military discount they offer. Finally, your glass and pottery are ready for pick-up 10-14 days later. In sum, a great way to spend a few hours. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE this place! It's so fun and relaxing to come in a paint. A nice refreshing thing to do that doesn't involve your phone the firing wait time isn't long (about a week in a half) and the products come out so great! The price isn't too bad either. It is in a great, convenient location too.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my experience here! There are a lot of options for pottery pieces and paints. They did a good job of pointing out all the different supplies and checking on us throughout the afternoon. I highly recommend making reservations, they were quite busy. It took us several hours, but other people were in and out in 45 minutes. It all depends on what you paint, and how detailed you want to be. It is a little pricey, but it's a lovey way to spend an afternoon. I am super excited to pick up my mug in a couple weeks! Also. One poor kid threw up during our visit. The staff handled it very professionally and had it cleaned up ASAP. Another kid accidentally knocked a piece of pottery off a shelf, and the manager was very nice and understanding. I overheard the mom offering to pay, but the manager told her not to worry about it. They do cater to adults, and I saw several other couples there. But, it is also a popular place for kiddos with their parents. This is not a problem, just something to be aware of going in.

Yelp
really cute place! the ladies working were nice & it was a fun experience. i've been to a different pottery place in wichita and wasn't sure how similar this place was to it. we didn't get a whole lot of instruction and was just kind of winging it. price wasn't too bad but just wish we had more instructions and kind of a run down of what all to do and what all could be done.

Carlos D.

Yelp
Fun place for the kids. Friendly staff. Prices (all in) to paint an item are $18 and up. Took about 1.5 hours. You get your painted item back in a week or so after your visit as it is put in a kiln and coated.

Yelp
I really enjoyed Paint Glaze & Fire. You select your ceramic then sit down to paint. After you are done, they will fire your piece and you can pick it up within about a week. There is a painting fee plus you pay for whichever piece you select. What makes Paint Glaze & Fire different from other pottery painting places we've been to is that it is also a coffee house. These two activities go together surprisingly well and makes this an excellent spot to go for a date night. For us, this is a bit of an expensive date night, but we'll definitely be back to do it again!

Yelp
This place is AMAZING! I just finished painting the CUTEST fairy on a unicorn to give to my niece for her birthday. The staff are so kind and all around wonderful. They explain the whole process to you and can suggest which type of paint will work best for your piece (i.e. paints that will help bring out the texture of a piece, etc.) They have a really large selection of (VERY reasonably priced) ceramic pieces pieces to choose from. Including banks, figurines, plates, bowls, mugs, and (as this is January) discounted Christmas items. They even have glass night-lights you can make, and other glass-fusion type pieces. If you know how to work with clay, they can sell you some clay and you can make your own piece (however they do not TEACH you how to do this, so don't expect that). But if you know how to work with clay, it would be a really cool option for a one-of-a-kind piece. (You MAY need to call ahead for this option, but I am not sure.) There are some staff-painted pieces around the store, that can help to inspire you. And to top it all off....they have a "cafe" where they can make both hot and cold drinks (i.e. coffee drinks, teas, Italian sodas, etc) I recommend the Turner Iced Coffee! I can not say enough good things about this place. Hands down my favorite discovery in KC, in a while. Already planning my next visit! Thank you, Paint Glaze & Fire for existing, and being my new favorite place. :-)

Yelp
This is a great place for an arts and crafts activity with family or friends. I recently went with a couple of friends. I painted a mug, Tracy painted a bowl, and Casey painted a dog dish. Every one of us will use the final products in our day to day lives. I'm looking forward to using my mug at work. Another great thing is that they have coffee and tea available so you can drink it while you work. Tips: You have to leave your mug there so it can be fired and glazed, so don't expect to take home the finished product the day you go in. Also, get there at least 1 1/2 hours before closing so you have plenty of time to pick out your piece, paint it, and enjoy a coffee drink.

Yelp
PRICEY!! I am surprised no one else has commented on the cost. We even went on half priced studio night. A simple coffee mug was $23! Plates were upwards $50. For a $23 coffee mug, it better be filled with a lb of Starbucks coffee and chocolate. This is in addition to the studio fees and then they want tip (for what, I am not sure). Staff was fine. It's a nice idea and they had lots of pieces to choose from but we won't be going back as its totally cost prohibitive.

Yelp
Looking for something to do on a school holiday and I came cross Paint, Glaze and Fire. We made a reservation for 10:00; highly recommend that you make a reservation. The little studio/coffee café is small but very nice. The staff is friendly and once we had our table they explained the rules. Basically pick out your pottery and paint it anything you want. There are so many choices of colors, stencils, paint pens, stamps and brushes. We all picked out one item each. My little one had so much fun he went for a second art project. We had a blast painting and being creative. We will pick up our final art project in about a week after the shop kiln dries them, we cannot wait. Only down side is the location. I wish there was something up north like this. OP is not my cup of tea.

Yelp
I had a nice time with some loved ones here. The ceramics selection was fairly wide, and the supplies to paint them were very plentiful even on a busy day. We didnt make an appointment, but there were enough tables for our group and the endless droves of adults and children who were holding their events. The friendly staff did a great job with all the issues that crop up when young painters at work.
google avatar

Evander K.

Yelp
Owner was rude, dismissive, pretentious and unwilling to listen. Staff was polite. Prices are twice what would be fair. I'm glad I didn't waste much time here.

Yelp
I visited before Christmas and painted a few ornaments. I wish they had a few more color choices, but the tool options are nice. The experience can be costly, so check for deal nights on their Facebook page.

Yelp
Love this place! We had our own girls night out with my daughter and son's girlfriend and we couldn't have had a better time! With so many projects to chose from, we each had a hard time deciding what to paint. It was well staffed for such a busy night and all of the workers went above and beyond answering our questions, providing suggestions and giving ideas on what would work best even though it was a full house. The drinks there are also REALLY good. Very cool to be able to get such good coffees and smoothies while we painted -- I don't think drinks are available at similar places around town. We had such a good time that we were shocked at how fast the time flew by. Even though it was getting close to closing time, the staff did not rush us and was very accommodating as we finished. Walking out, the girls gushed about how much fun it was and already talking about what to paint next.

Yelp
We went to their Family Night which includes session fee, a pizza, and drinks. We had such a good time! The session take about 2 hours and the pieces of pottery can be expensive but worth it for such a different night out with the kids. Will defiantly make this a yearly date night! Staff was super helpful and nice as well!

Amy O.

Yelp
I had trouble scheduling my daughter's birthday online, so I called on a Saturday afternoon and I could tell they were swamped, but Nicole never rushed me or made me feel like I was an inconvenience! She was patient and courteous and made sure to get all my information. I went by and confirmed today and picked up our invitations and Lilley was really helpful and kind as well. I was also pleased to find out they have a fantastic coffee bar with vegan options!! We can't wait for our party next weekend and may have to make this a regular stop!!

Mister K.

Yelp
Brought my son here to make something for his mom. We told the employee we had never done this before. She explained the process and left us to ourselves. It's a small store that's tucked in a little corner of a strip mall so it's not the easiest to find. They serve various drinks and snacks which are about the same price as other coffee shops (so a little on the pricier side than I prefer). The concept is nice and kids and adults will probably enjoy it. My main complaint is that they weren't all that helpful. Again, we had never done this before so telling us to pick an item and paints and have fun wasn't exactly helpful. I had to ask where the paints were, which paintbrushes we could use, if there was a cup of water to use for brushes, etc. Some direction and hints would've been nice, that's all. My son had fun once he got going. That's what really counts.

Yelp
My daughter loves going to Paint Glaze & Fire. So many projects to choose from. It is fun and relaxing to do ceramics. Great place to go to make personal gifts for people you care about. Just wish it didn't take a week for your piece to be ready. Will be back!

Yelp
I got a Sweet Jack deal a LONG time ago and finally remembered it and used it. I've never done anything like this so I'm pretty sure I looked like a deer in headlights or a lost puppy. The place was a little hard to find as the lighted sign doesn't have their name. Once inside, there were a few people painting and the staff was helping them. After about 10 min or so, we had someone come over, explain to pick out a piece and sit and someone would help us. We did just that and waited. After awhile, we had a lady come explain how it works and let us go. We had a blast painting and it was kinda weird using paint that you can't really see what you are doing (ceramic paint). We got a hot chocolate (and even though they messed it up, it was still good). We took a little longer than expected (about an hour and 20 min) so we were pretty rushed at the end since they were closing. However, we flew and got our pieces done. It took a week and a day to get fired, but we went and picked them up and they looked awesome (after having to wait awhile for someone to help me as well). If it wasn't a super awesome place, I'd be more harsh on the rating because of the staff and wait time, but...I still love it. I've already told a ton of people about it and am ready to go back...and will know what to do and expect next time.

Angela S.

Yelp
We took a drive down to visit the "Ceramic Cafe", as this is also called, at Paint, Glaze, & Fire. It seemed a little overwhelming at first, but the staff was used to all kinds of questions and they were good about answering and then moving along so they were not in our way. Their directions were simple and easy to remember. The "art studio" feel encouraged you to get right in there and go at it; and, It smelled delicious with the coffee brewing in the background! I noticed there was WiFi, and other snack bar choices as well. It was an enjoyable experience with many wonderful items to choose from and make, including glass melting - ranging from small and inexpensive trinkets to intricate vases, cookie jars, and urns. My son is already deciding what he wants to pick on our next visit, and we plan to bring Grandma, too. I had as much fun making my own creation as my son.

Yelp
I liked this place a lot. You can go choose greenware and paint and glaze it yourself then they fire it for you and you go back to pick up a really cool one-of-a-kind piece that YOU did. This was THE PERFECT place to take my little people to make the coolest gifts for the adults on their lists. I think it was 80 to 100 bucks for a large coffee mug, a large cupcake-shaped storage container-lid combo, a medium sized heart-shaped storage container-lid comb and two little bird curios. Might sound high, and I guess it's relative, but I think it was worth it. The little ones LOVED painting them and the adults LOVED receiving them as gifts. What more do you want?? The inside of the shop is pretty crowded in term of space to maneuver but it was pretty packed with people too. They do have tables outside to sit at and do your things which is what we opted to do. It was fun. Go try it.

Yelp
I took my Red Hat Chapter to here. We had a great time. We each chose a cup or a piece of pottery and the nice ladies showed us the things to use and how to go about making a pattern if we wanted. Then they let us order out for and had tea and coffee to drink too. I went back when they called and picked all the things up and it was packed up safely. My ladies had a good time and we have a nice memory. I use my coffee cup all the time.

S A.

Yelp
This place was amazing! I went with my girlfriend over the Christmas break and we had a blast. Wonderful staff, clean for a art studio, fun, and great drinks. Love it. Can't wait to come back when I visit, have to complete the bowl set!

Yelp
Three date nights, three projects and always a great time. My wife and I went on a Friday (ladies night) and other than one father/daughter date night couple, it was estrogen rich and a wonderful time as my wife and I painted a piggy bank for our daughters upcoming birthday. Create lasting memories as each time you use the item (we have soup bowls, fruit bowls and now a piggy bank) you have a wonderful memory too. Great staff that knows their stuff and can give you ideas to use. Plan a date or group activity there today and you will be glad you did. Great coffee to go along with your event.

Yelp
My family was visiting Kansas City and Paint Glaze & Fire was the perfect activity... plenty of pieces and art supplies to choose from for our creations. They served up one of the tastiest espressos that i've had in the KC area. Plus the staff was friendly and helpful
