The service here is absolutely incredible. Both Frankie and a woman (I forget her name) are always extremely helpful, don’t make you feel rushed, and the finished product is always perfect! Oh - and you’ll have a great conversation with them while you’re in there too! I’ll definitely be a lifelong customer.

I have been going to Paintbox NoLita for the last few years, and have had 4 separate pieces framed. I don’t write reviews often but I want to commend their services. Every time their work is top notch (most pieces I’m framing are fine art prints or paintings), and they always handle them with care. The museum glass option is a must for me, and their pricing on it is good. I know I can go to them for high quality work, and pay fair prices. I have to give them credit: as recently a lenticular I had framed by them slipped inside the frame and was crooked. I called them up and they told me to bring it in and they would fix it. I didn’t even have a receipt as it had been over a year, but they took the piece and fixed it within 2 days - no charge. This is the customer service I appreciate, and will continue to give them my business and recommend them to others.

I came here to get two matching prints framed. I was so disappointed I paid $327 for these. When I arrived, there was metal hardware (for hanging) very visibly jutting out from the sides. One of the pieces stuck out so much, it looked like they tried to break some of it off leaving a sharp piece of metal still sticking out. I raised the concern and was told the frame was too skinny. I was so disappointed because I had been open to all of the woman's suggestions and she did not inform me. I wanted to pay the difference for the right frame, but the gentleman wanted to charge me for the entire order again because he said the old frame would have to be discarded. He refused to fix it unless I paid $150 more per frame. Meanwhile, another employee found other hardware. This would make the frame no longer sit flush, but I felt I had no choice but to compromise. When I got home, I had a sinking feeling that the mat was uneven. I pulled out my measuring tape and the mat is indeed uneven. Both pictures had more mat on the right side than on the left. Update: The original woman from Paintbox reached out to me and offered to redo the frames. She was very understanding and truly went above and beyond, offering to pick up and deliver the frames as well as offering the larger frame free of charge. I chose to go back to the store so there wouldn’t be any miscommunication. Once at the store, the woman was nowhere to be found, and I dealt with more bad behavior from the gentleman. He was condescending and insistent that it was impossible that the mat was uneven even though they were in front of him and he could see/measure it for himself. When I went to pick up the final frames, there was a tear on the back of one that wasn’t there from the first job. He quipped back, “Of course that wasn’t there before, I had to redo these.” When I asked if it could be fixed, he said no one is going to see it anyway. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing and that had been the theme from the start. He would give excuses and argue with you on why something couldn’t be fixed, unable to accept responsibility for his actions or do his job. The interaction was so strained and difficult, I eventually donated the $300 framed art pieces because I thought of this unfortunate encounter every time I looked at them. He was unprofessional and complained about other customers, and I did not receive the wider frame the woman promised.

Paintbox was able to print and frame an extremely oversized photograph. The black and white photo quality is very crisp and clear considering the scale of it. The framing job is outstanding as well. Freddy in particular was very helpful from start to finish. He even helped my husband carry the enormous, heavy picture home several blocks when we realized it didn't fit in our SUV! We will definitely be returning to Paintbox in the near future to have some art framed.

So grateful for this neighborhood frame store, that recommended my husband and I to frame our ketubah in a museum glass. I was very cautious about where to leave my handmade ketubah delivered from Israel to any frame store, but after all, they were very trustworthy. Ask for Freddy who did such an amazing job with handling our request. We could not be happier! Many thanks!!!

On the somewhat positive side, you can have a nicely done frame at PaintPox NoLita, provided you’re willing to pay hundreds of dollars more that other similar shops. On the really negative side, should you have some repair to do later, they’ll charge you MORE than the original price, even if almost everything is intact, including the backs and the the museum glass. Cherry on the cake, they may tell you have no choice except having it repaired at a real framing shop! So, for once, I can’t wait to get this neighborhood place replaced by yet another clothes or boba tea store. There are enough decent framing options in NYC…

Freddie was really great with giving us advice on how to frame our pieces, while still being considerate of our budget. The first time we came here we had absolutely no idea about what we wanted to do with something we had commissioned and Freddie came to the rescue. We've gotten numerous compliments on how beautiful it turned out so whenever we need something framed we choose to go here because we trust them to do a wonderful job.

If you want an art store that will handle your art as their own this is the place. Freddy was very honest and upfront and truly cared about the art. They are prized processions and he truly understands that. I explained my situation and he did everything he could and went out of his way to help. Support this place as they are the gems of NYC

Love the job that was done for my artwork! The staff was super friendly and patient and really worked with me. They were so passionate about making my canvas look the best and the turn around time was pretty fast. I'm very happy with the outcome.

Let me start by saying they did a great job. The items I brought by to be framed look perfect, and they also replaced a wire on a canvas for me, free of charge. While I was deciding on frames, they were also helpful in trying to help me be price conscious. Unfortunately it was still really expensive, and that's why I've gone 3-stars. I had a thin, very basic metal frame (they did say wood would be cheaper), so it's hard to see how the value is there for what I paid.

Any store can do frames...but when you go to a place and the gentleman working there has an attitude every time you engage, it makes the experience a horrible one. This company, as the gentleman says he is only an employee, needs major work on their customer service. I constantly buy art that needs framing and no matter how good of a job they do ID never come back to deal with the store's employees. They need major work. To top things off. The timing says 4-5 for pick up. I arrive 4:10. My stuff is in store and the guy is eating after the store was open for business. Asks me to come back 30 min later for the frames. He is an absolute joke and unfortunately makes the store be one as well.

Really poor customer service. To be clear, the framing was decent but I had ordered a different frame and the representative tried to deny that I had. I clearly wanted an all gold frame (the specific reason I went to Paintbox Nolita) and they put a gold and black frame on. He had called me after I visited the store to drop off my painting to say that the gold frame would take especially long to arrive because it needed to be ordered. I said that's fine; I'm in no rush since what I want is specifically an all gold frame. The representative made no effort to rectify the situation. And more appalling was the disrespectful tone, denial and the accusation of me of not saying something different. I was remarkably consistent from the start: all I want is an all gold frame. My first visit, he had said the all gold frame is more expensive. Now he's saying this gold/black one is more expensive so was not willing to make any price concessions. Really disappointed in this establishment.

I recently got a canvas print framed here. Everything done included framing, artwork set on a foam board, with a glass at the front and wire hanger at the back. The work was professional and great quality. I was satisfied. The only reason why I didn't give Five stars was because I paid $185 excluding tax, and I also received a quote for the same service from another business for $90. I chose this place because it was more convenient as I didn't have time to go with the cheaper option. That being said I would probably go somewhere else next time if I'm getting a better price. This area is known for having overpriced goods & services so it was expected. So great place with great work if you can afford it! And definitely one of the better price options in that area! But there definitely places in any of the other 5 boroughs with even lower prices.

I had initially posted a review that didn't paint PaintBox NoLita very favorably based on two pieces of artwork that I had had framed at PaintBox. The owner immediately reached out and let me know that the work that was done didn't live up to his expectations. He offered to pick up the artwork, fix the problems with the frames and return them to me. That's exactly what he did. I'm very happy with the job he did and extremely pleased with the owner's response and customer service.

Freddie is patient, he will talk you through it all if you are a first timer and make suggestions. When I got my framed work back I did not get to check it and then saw that one was chipped and one was crooked when I got home. Freddie was nice enough to fix it for me. Thank you!

Hashmet is really awesome and I owe him a huge thank you for his customer service and amazing job framing my vintage Hermes scarf! I was obviously very nervous to get this framed as I have heard horror stories of framers ruining fine silk scarves if they do not know how to properly float them (requires sewing into the mat... Very complicated I had no idea)! After reading all the amazing yelp reviews I went in for a consultation. I was on a pretty tight budget for this and hashmet was so kind- i was going to chose a black frame because it was cheaper and he gave me the gold that I liked more for that same price!! It came out incredible and for an incredible price. Thank you!

Ordered a $350 Italian custom frame. I picked it up all properly packed in a bubble wrap. When I unwrapped it at my place, it was chipped in 2 places. I called the store. They declined to pick it up and redo it or to send me a new frame and requested I bring it back / pick up In person

The guy that works here Pat is a great guy and super helpful. He does a wide variety things like printing and framing along with many sizes, from as small as a picture frame for the desk to a canvas size for your room, along with many different sizes. I've had him do 4 pieces so far and he does it exactly how you want it but gives his recommendation as well. He has and will have me and my roommates business... Bottom line: Go here

I'm really surprised at all the positive reviews this place has. I had three posters framed here and found them to be extremely expensive for an average quality product. I had initially wanted six posters framed and was helped by a young helpful sales guy. He had great suggestions on borders and frames but his designs were over $300 each for a single poster. I kept trying to tell him that I wanted something very basic but he wasn't great at helping me bring down my total cost. I finally ended up getting three posters framed under the assumption that I was going to get great quality frames at the prices I was paying. Sadly that was not the case at all. It's exactly the same look as what I could have had done at my local framer for 30% of the cost.

Customer service was great. When I first walked in a man came over to help me and was really attentive. I was deciding between to colors for the frame and he was helpful and told me to call if I changed my mind. He also suggested getting the UV glass at an additional cost. The next day, after consulting friends and a designer. I went back and changed the order. I switched the frame color, took off the UV glass (I was told it was unnecessary), and used the Yelp coupon. The woman I worked with was so nice and friendly. Re did the order with no complaints or attitude. I had a large print and for the cheapest frame (plus 25% off coupon and tax) it totaled to $248. It was expensive but apparently that's the going rate. Would recommend and also will come back if I need something framed again.

I emailed 2 digital prints, to be printed and framed, in some mix up they weren't ready for pick up, when I arrived, BUT!!!!! everyone at paintbox went above and beyond to make sure I got my product on time, the printing and framing was excellent and they personally delivered on time. Freddie was incredibly helpful in helping me pick the perfect frame within my budget and I could not be happier with how nicely it turned out! He was extremely knowledgable and helped guide me into picking a frame that truly accentuated the piece. The originally time estimate I was given was 7-10 days but I got a call 2 days later that my piece was ready. I will definitely be returning for all of my future framing needs!

They did an amazing job framing my acrylic art piece. The owner advised on the area that should be framed and it came out beautifully, maintaining the integrity and texture of the painting. The frame itself was perfect for highlighting the work, and the staff was very attentive to my requests. It took less than a week to complete the framing. Highly recommend!

I've lived in the neighborhood for a while and frequently pass by this shop. I never thought to go in but I was looking to have a few posters framed and I stopped in and met with Patrick and Chad. They were extremely helpful and friendly. They showed me a number of different options for frames and mats. Honestly, these are two great guys. The prices are very reasonable as well and they have great art for sale done by neighborhood artists. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product and using them again in the future.

I get a lot of framing done for client gifts and have had trouble finding a spot in the city that charges a fair price yet does a truly professional job. Until the Paintbox in Nolita! Not only do they have wonderful pricing but you can also count on quick turnover, an extremely helpful staff, and a consistently gorgeous product that is worthy of anyone's wall. Highly recommend, I'm a repeat costumer and will continue to be!

I am extremely satisfied with the service and the 4 frames. Taner was extremely helpful guiding me on how to frame my photos and my grandfather's drawings. I was a bit undeceive and took about an hour to decide what I wanted, but Taner was very patient and help me decide. I will definitively be coming back to frame my other photos. The hay a great selection of frames of every material, color and size. He was also very helpful and gave a discount. I will recommend this business to anyone.

Freddy is amazing! He took the time to walk me through all of my options, glass types, frames, mats. I was framing two big posters and a tiny photo. He helped me customize the look of each one. This was my first framing experience and I'll definitely be back-- quick, knowledgeable, great experience all around.

Just picked up my picture which I had framed at Paintbox Nolita and I am very happy with the finished product! They were super helpful and initially said 7-10 days for the framing but called me after 3 days saying it was all finished. I will definitely return next time I have something I need framing!

Had a great experience framing an older poster here. Hashmat, the owner, was quick to reply to my quote request and very open to my suggestions about framing, etc. The finished piece turned out great! Will absolutely come back to have more work done.

I had a great experience working with Hashmat (the owner) and Hassan at Paintbox Nolita. They were both very cordial and polite and we thoroughly reviewed my options when I brought my project to them for printing and framing. Even when we had a bit of a mixup in sizing my two large prints, they were willing to work with me to get things done correctly. On top of the exceptional service, the pricing was very reasonable. All-in-all, it was a great experience, and I look forward to working with these guys again.
