Mohammed is great! Got a complex piece framed that was a delicate fabric from India. He did a high quality job for a reasonable rate compared to other places in nyc.

We just had a lovely oil painting framed here. They were helpful and friendly, and made some good suggestions for framing choices to compliment the painting. It turned out just beautiful! The price was reasonable. We felt that the work was very professional good quality work with all the details taken care of. We will return here again...

Very beautiful shop. The owner was very helpful and appreciates return business. I originally bought a photo and frame from the location and went back months later to purchase a matching set. I also needed to switch out the original frame and the owner did that for free as a courtesy. Highly recommend. I'll be going back in the future.

I called here for a frame job for my boss, he gave me a quote right away, very sweet and fast on the phone. I called a few other places to get quotes and Paintbox was the fastest ad cheapest. I came in the very same day, figured it all out and he stuck to his original quote. Very sweet and personal interaction. I will definitely be going back. Most reasonable prices for good quality. Lovely place!

Walked in to their new store on Spring Street the other day and met Matthew, one of the owners. I came back a few hours later to work with him and Hash (other owner) and they walked me through, step by step on 5 pieces to frame and prices were good and their expertise and opinions and knowledge of NYC galleries was really helpful.

I got five medium, sized prints framed there. They were friendly and offered me a good price for all five. It took two days to get them back. When I went to pick them up it was raining and one of the employees there waited with me in the rain until I got a cab and helped me load them in the car.

I have nothing but great things to say about Paintbox Soho! These guys take framing very seriously and don't go overboard with the pricing. I had 3 canvases to re-stretch and frame so I brought them in. The two gentlemen working there were friendly, helpful, and very professional. They didn't push me to go beyond my budget and the paintings came out looking amazing! I will definitely be coming back here and highly recommend them to anyone looking for framing.

Great experience! I got these 2 papers framed. They have tons of framing options to choose from and finished the frames quickly in about 2 weeks. I will definitely go back there next time I need something framed!

Amazing job done by Freddy! Great customer service and I felt like I left my print in Good hands. He even knew who the photographer was and said he'd framed a lot of these! The process was easy and he helped me choose what I wanted and explained the difference between UV coverage/not, etc. I have never framed anything before but I was glad to be taken care of :) thank you Freddy!!

Overpriced - the guy tries to rip you off. You have to barter with him. They also said they weren't accepting the Yelp deal that was offered.

The owner made bad recommendations and told me the price would be $350 regardless of choosing from frames that ranged in price. He wanted me to put a plain white mat on a print that was on offwhite paper. Disappointed in end result because he recommended 2" mat all around and it should have been 3". It looks stupid and it makes me sick to think I spent so much money on something that was not done right. I put it in a closet. I wanted to support a local small business owner. I miss A.I. Friedman's on 18th street. They always did a beautiful job and were kind and professional. I'd recommend shopping around. I won't go back here.

I've never gotten anything framed in the city before, so I don't really have any base of comparison. Matthew and Hashmat seem very knowledgable and were very friendly. They gave advice on what frame would look best, noted to leave a small border (as to not lose the rough edges or artist signature), and negotiated a price. From what I understand, custom framing will always be expensive, but these guys gave me a great discount with a yelp log in. I had to call them after 2 weeks to find out whether my paintings were done, but they looked beautiful when I picked them up! My advice: these guys definitely know their stuff, and they can do a good job, but take your art into a few different shops to find someone you personally trust and gives you a price you can live with.

I had three prints to frame, one very large (60 x 44). I was concerned about pricing and called various framing shops in Manhattan - and PaintBox Soho had such a good offer ($350) that everyone else told me to just go there! To boot, the service was professional, turnaround was as quick as 2 days for three images, and he wrapped it up very nicely for us to take home. The place to go everyone!

I've worked with Hashmat twice now to frame two block prints. The first one was the first piece of serious art I'd ever gotten framed. I felt like a real adult when I left the store with my beautiful new piece. Hashmat is extremely patient; I'm an indecisive creature. He has great taste and learns how to read yours to make the best suggestions possible. He takes no offense when you decide, after 45 minutes of hemming and hawing, not to take his suggestion. The first print I got framed started to come out of the mat a bit - I took it back to him and he immediately fixed it at no charge. It's been perfect ever since. Highly recommend!

The owner / manager of this shop is slightly clueless when it comes to design and customer service. He showed us frames for our paintings that were not at all what we described and frankly looked awful. We finally found something we liked. When I went to pick it up, one of the pictures was totally crooked on the mat. He agreed it was crooked and dismissed it. He didn't offer to fix it and when I came home my mom said "how could they let that out of the shop". I came back to the shop and he was very patronizing and did not apologize, calling me ma'am multiple times. This is not a professional framing shop. If you'd like your $500 to go somewhere, go somewhere else.

I bought a deal for a credit at the store. It was a seamless process though i felt a bit rushed, be it the size of the store and array of choices, or who knows what. I was told it would be finished in a week and would receive a call. 1.5 weeks later i called and was told i'd be called back to confirm. No one called. So i called again, very rude gentleman who didn't speak english clearly and when i asked him to repeat himself was mad i couldn't understand him. The product is good. nothing special bc i didn't get to choose a ton of the stuff. i just said yea i guess matte it without being shown matte's... yea it's good. very pretty frame. Maybe i should've been more pushy to see more options though to give this is a 4/5 star.

I've been to Painbox SoHo on two occasions and was blown away each time. My first visit I needed two huge frames replicated to look similar to a frame done the previous year. With only photos and measurements that I had sent over email, Matt was able to create a stunning matching frame (similar matte size, frame size/wood, etc.). I was impressed at how well it was done, especially with the small amount of information I provided and my tight deadline. The frame from last year is now hanging beautifully next to these new frames without looking out of place at all. To top it all off, Matt also printed the graphic for me at a reasonable price which came out very crisp and beautiful. The quality was definitely just as impressive as the frame work. The second time I stopped by Paintbox SoHo was to drop off a small watercolor that I wanted framed as a gift. This time, I wasn't sure how I wanted the frame to look at all; I was unsure of color, size, glass, etc. but Matt was very helpful in explaining all of the options and laying them out visually for me. He offered a lot of great, honest suggestions and reasonable prices for them. I have yet to pick up this piece, but I'm looking forward seeing it. All in all, I definitely recommend Paintbox SoHo and will be a return customer for all of my printing/framing needs.

My wife and I had about eight pieces of canvas art printed with Paintbox. They did an excellent job, especially with the quality! Price, process and timeline were very clear upfront. Since we didn't know how canvas art should be printed, they advised. We are very happy with the work and will be doing future projects with them. 5 stars!!!!!

NO NO NO NO NO!!!! TRASH SERVICE! Their product quality and price might be ok, but COSTUMER SERVICE IS AWFUL!! The guy (very poor english) wanted me to leave my USB drive in store (who doeas that??) to get the photograph files and refused to login to the computer and drop them there because he "didn't have the password". I finally got him calling his coworker to get the password and then, when I payed with a check, he didn't want to take it because the number 800 looked like 80 (it was written eight hundred dollars, though). Also, I was there the day before and the guy told me the service would take up to three days. Today, he told me one week!! I wanted to leave the place and find somewhere else, but since I needed the service as soon as possible, I payed and hoped for the best. Today, they just called me and told me they actually don't take checks (so why did the guy take mine at fisrt place??) Now I'll have to go back there to get my money and find somewhere else (more professional, please!) I'm more than glad for not taking their service anymore, though. PAINTBOX SOHO NEVER AGAIN! TRASH!

After searching for a good printing place near home I found paint box on yelp and made the trip all the way from queens bc they were willing to help me print on a super short notice. Matthew was super friendly and got all my prints ready in just 3 hours! Will definitely use them again.

AMAZE: I was walking down the street in SoHo and noticed this custom frame shop had opened next to Snack where I was headed for food. I had to get a photo framed the same day and didn't anticipate that a frame shop in Soho would have the following attributes: FAST AFFORDABLE FAST LOOKS GREAT FAST I was convinced I would have to mount my image on foam core and call it the day, but I got a custom black wood frame (24 x 26) including matting in 3 hours. Yup. Turns out they have a variety of frames in stock and if you choose one of those, you can get the job done. Was around $100!! Looked amazing. I included a photo in my original check-in. Going back to frame 3 more. Stoked.

Tanner at the PaintBox was fantastic! They gave me a quote the same day I requested and did a great job with my frame. I would happily go back.

Over the last several months I've had Matt prepare 4 items for me, 2 court admission certificates and 2 concert posters. The items came back beautiful and Matt is a true professional. This sort of framing is "cheap" nowhere, but the quality is impeccable and worth the price. Highly recommended. Check out the photos.

I stumbled upon this place because I thought that it was a place where I could print a word document. Boy was I wrong! Mathew was so nice about it and let me print out the pages that I needed before going to an interview. The establishment was cute and filled with beautiful pictures on the wall! Give it a try!

Awesome service. Very competent and fast. Was willing to work with my small budget! I wanted a super basic frame for a poster that had glass on both sides and he was very accommodating!

When my daughter was born I bought some Sharon Montrose animal prints for her nursery wall. I decided to get the prints matted and framed and went to Paintbox Soho - I wanted something high quality but not unaffordable. Hashmat, the owner of Paintbox Soho, and one of his employees, Matthew, helped me pick out a frame and matte that were high quality but within my price range. I was very pleased with the three framed pieces and went back to have some photos framed of my daughter with her dad for his parents as Christmas presents. I highly recommend this place - Hashmat and Matthew are both incredibly nice and helpful - it feels like a local neighborhood place - and they work with your needs for a quick turnaround. Another plus for me was that they were able to print out the photos before framing so I didn't have to go to a separate store for printing before hand.

Paintbox Soho is the ONLY frame shop worth going to in Manhattan. I'm obsessed with their quality of work, spot-on framing/matting recommendations, and speedy execution. It's worth going to these guys if you have artwork you care about and want it to look awesome on your walls.

I entered Paintbox with a very special print, but no idea what I wanted. Hashmat provided amazing service in my initial consultation, suggesting a beautiful and perfect framing option for my art. Their highly professional, personalized service was only enhanced by delivering earlier than expected and offering a first time customer discount. Highly recommend - I will be using Paintbox for all of my framing needs.

The guy who took my order was very rude and yelled at me when I asked why my order is not ready. I ordered 2 photographs of my father who died and I needed them for the funeral. I was supposed to fly abroad the same day for his funeral. I ordered them on Wednesday and the guy told me to pick up on a Saturday. I came at 2pm on a Saturday and the photographs were not ready. I think this is unacceptable as he did not specify the time at what I should have come. He told me come back in one hour. I paid them upfront something like 250 dollars. Very disrespectful, poor service.

This is only my second review on yelp because I'm hardly placed in a position to review someone's service. And so after Hashmat worked with me as well as he did yesterday I figured I put up a posting. I called him early in the day to let him know I'd be coming in later that night. I explained that I was working on a tight budget and was short on time. He gave me a rough estimate over the phone for the simplest way to frame four 16" x 24" photographs and told me he would be able to have them ready in three days. I had gone to two framers in Queens, NY and called a few I found on Yelp for some quotes. After explaining I was on a budget and what I'd like the work to look like (2-1/2" matt all round with a black frame) they all quoted me between $120-150 a piece. Hashmat at Paintbox suggested I'd use metal frames instead of wooden ones. He worked with my budget and agreed to make them for $75/each. He also offered to use wooden frames for $100/ea, cheaper than any of the other quotes I received. I also found a groupon voucher which he allowed me to redeem the same day. I haven't received my framed work yet but the work hanging in the shop is evidence that the staff knows what they're doing.

Highly recommend. I am pretty price sensitive and time sensitive and after looking around a number of other framing stores downtown found that this place had best prices and quick turnaround. Was surprised given the location. I've done 5 big paintings so far and will be happy to come back for more. I usually do pretty basic framing and canvasing but they've got all the fancy frames as well. Also Hashmat, who owns/runs the store is lovely and an extra plus!

I needed to get a digital print framed for my brother's birthday and decided to check out Paintbox as I happen to live in the neighborhood. I shopped around for prices and the quote I received from Paintbox was quite competitive. The employees are welcoming and gracious, and Hashmat helped me with picking out the proper frame (settled on a white shadowbox frame). The framing was done in a timely fashion and the outcome was beautiful! Would definitely recommend them, great guys, great work!

Great price, great service. They quoted me about 20% less than three other local framing stores. They had an awesome barn wood frame that no other store had, turned it around in a day, great work. The prices here are very competitive compared to others downtown, highly recommend.

Highly recommended for all your framing needs. I needed a custom frame made the same day, and after trying three other shops, Paintbox was the only one able to get my request done in the time frame I required. Not only was the job done quickly, it was done extremely well. I will certainly be a repeat customer.

I chose this framing shop based upon the good reviews and the reviews saying it was "Affordable". I arrived with my (admittedly large) 27x41 original film poster and had a quick frame and mat consultation. The shop is teeny tiny,it's really hard to even move around, so I did not really feel like I could pick out a frame at leisure. Thus I just agreed to the first thing I was shown, which was fine until we got to the price. Ouch 444.00 for a basic wood frame and a single mat- and this includes the 20% Yelp discount. Thank god for the discount. It was my own fault I did not shop around for pricing information, so I agreed to the price and 10 days later I was told my item was ready. It was a good job- I have no complaints about the workmanship, but I would not say it was 5 star worthy. I just don't find 500+ that affordable. I know framing is expensive and I am just kicking myself for not shopping around a bit more.

Paint Box Soho saved my life!!! They were extremely professional, well educated on various ways to matt and position the pictures, and worked with a tight time frame (no pun intended). I highly recommend them.

We had the idea to get some photos printed and get them framed in a collage type setting, so we went to the store to run through the ideas we had on what size photos would be appropriate. They were definitely helpful, and even said that it would be better if they did the printing - and that the printing is basically part of the process so it would be more price efficient. I thought they did a great job on the framing and matting, its definitely top notch. But the printing quality is not that great, a lot of the photos came out darker than they should have, and I know its not the photo because some of these photos we had printed off shutterfly in little 3"x5" and they came out much more vibrant and life like (and shutterfly is just middle of the road quality). If I could do it again, I would print the photos myself and then bring them in.

Hassan and his team did an amazing job with two paintings -- one that I waited nearly 8 years to get framed. Once he understood what we were looking for, he was able to find a product that fit our parameters and budget. Would highly recommend.

Matthew is super responsive, attentive and knowledgeable! I emailed him two images that I wanted to enlarge and he helped me figure out how big we could go without sacrificing resolution. He then provided test prints them so I could see exactly how they would look before I committed which was great because there was a small version and a full-size cropped version. Also, he helped me select the right museum quality frames both of which were affordably-priced even before the discount. I can't wait to see the final framed prints!

First rate in every way. I had three pieces to frame, and Matthew gave me his full attention, really taking his time making sure we got them all right. No pressure, no up-selling, no nonsense. I was told the pieces would come back in a week to ten days -- and got the call the NEXT DAY that they were already finished. (Not saying that will be the case for everyone, but still... so excellent.) With the 25% Yelp check-in discount for first timers, it's a great value too. Oh, and the pictures were PERFECT.

I'm a professional photographer. I've had Matt and Hashmat make up traditionally framed pictures and stretched canvases and they've all come out great. I'm currently having some face mounted plexi work made up and I'm sure that will be great too.

I went to paintbox last week to print and frame a picture for a birthday gift. They have a nice collection of frames here and Matthew helped me pick a perfect wooden frame for my photograph. I picked up the framed picture two hours later and it was great! It was a very fast and easy process thanks to Matthew!

Is it me or is there something just fishy about this beautiful little find of mine! I'm an avid collector of new aged movie prints( not expensive but kool) and will become more pricey, hopefully lol. The beauty of Yelp is, its either a Warner or a supporter! This is a case of at your own risk. Live a block away and figured I might stop by a few weeks ago to gauge my inner wants of proximity and quality wall coverings( framing my loved ones). I happened upon a lovely young gent! As perturbed as I was in realizing how tiny this space was, I was even more so terrified by his lack of knowledge in what means to be archival. Asking what kind of materials they used and how they would frame my pieces. Oh sure, the often thrown words of 'acid free' and museum quality were used in this place too! But thankfully, after years of going to wrong framers and then finding out when it was too late, finally finding a place in Chelsea. I have a much better understanding of all these terms. Even more so about the process. Which I'm afraid this place doesn't know or is trying to play itself off as one. I also realized from our extensive yet short discussion that they don't frame on site unless its small from what I gather! I was very excited to maybe use these folks but to my dismay, a red flag for me! They are relatively inexpensive though! 'Relative' to their quality

I had a great experience here. Matt has a very smart eye and immediately had a great recommendation of how to frame some prints that I brought in. He also understood what I was looking for and worked with me to find the right set of colors. I'm really pleased with the work (quick turnaround too) and will definitely be back.

This is how you do business. Kindness, craft, attention to detail. Really do spectacular work and care about their customers desires and parameters while offering unique creative insight to guide the process. They even threw in a free shadow box treatment on one of my pieces. Definitely recommend.

This is my go-to place if I want something framed. Their selection is beautiful and their staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Matt helped me pick a beautiful wood that complimented my piece of art beautifully and was able to complete my custom frame very quickly. I felt like I had an excellent, personal experience. Will definitely be going back the next time I need something framed!

Nice job. Matthew is great and accommodating and has good advice. I will go back but only if I had a firm appointment with Matthew. Actually I had one with Matthew but he wasn't there when I got there and therefore I got stuck with the other guy, the same guy that the others complained about. I was told that Matthew was working in a different store that day. Ultimately I insisted that he call Matthew and I waited for him to come to the store where we were waiting. I went through a lot of trouble to bring in my large painting and didn't want to just take another taxi home and start all over. So one star deducted for missing my appointment and leaving me with the other guy.
