We have been coming to The Painted Pony for years, and we always have a wonderful time! The owners are kind, gracious, and very personable. The experience is always fun for the adults and the children as well.

Very cute farm with extremely awesome owners! Perfect field trip place and they were very organized! They have some really big pigs and the kids got to feed them apples from the orchard. The pumpkin patch was the perfect size and had a great selection of pie sized pumpkins.

Wonderful experience here at the Painted Pony. We tried plenty of appetizers, the tomato salad, brie, onion soup, and truffle ruffles that were ALL excellent. Every entree ordered was phenomenal, steaks, pork chops, lamb chop, and stuffed pepper. Our waiter Bryce was amazing, so attentive, patient and provided great service from beginning to end. Finished the night off with key lime pie compliments of server suggestion. Can’t explain how well Bryce treated us! Traveled from Florida and would happily recommend to anyone in Utah or in Florida. Amazing!

We had a lovely Fieldtrip yesterday at the Painted Pony! The hosts graciously share their property with one group at a time. We were able to hold baby chicks, bunnies, feed all their animals and pick an apple and a pumpkin. It was a great experience!

Me and my friend stop near by this place because we saw beautiful tree and hay bales to make a picture there . The same time we stop, someone’s car stops and people there ask us if we have appointment with painted pony. We didn’t know that we need appointment and decided to ask if we can make a picture there . The owner came from the house and start taking unpleasant with us . That’s a private property and we can’t stay here and it is his tree and we can’t make pictures there and didn’t offer to make an appointment other day because Sunday was day off . He threaten that people here have guns and we should be very careful. He scared us ! We even didn’t make anything , just stop by and ask for permission to make a photo under the tree. He didn’t allow us to do it and said that if we will try he will call sheriff. I would never go there again just because I am scared of this person. We didn’t do any photos . As soon we arrive neighbor tell us that we need to ask permission and the first thing we made is ask permission to make a picture under the tree . if you have cameras you need to check them . It doesn’t seems as a friendly farm. We came with good intentions and feel very frustrated afterwards. I don’t usually made bad reviews but this situation makes me feel really bad .

Went here on a Halloween/Fall field trip with my child's school. Loved the animals and the pumpkin patch. Tons of great photo opportunities set up around the farm.

Yelp
Easy to miss from the road. But super cool! Very sunny, not a lot of shade, bring a hat and water!

Yelp
The owner was rude . He charged $5 for a small pumpkin. Is not worth it . It was bad . Don't go unless you want to be insulted . Please don't .

Yelp
I cannot say enough about this amazing, family run educational farm. Our family visited for the first time today for apple picking (by appointment only, so make sure to contact them to schedule your visit). We were greeted by the owners and hosts, Pam and Steve and they immediately made us feel like family. We got to interact with their baby chicks and bunnies and then walked through their beautiful apple orchard and picked our own apples. The kids loved giving some of the apples to their ponies. We also got to visit their hens, sheep, goats, and momma pig and her piglets. The best part of our visit was the wonderful hospitality of this lovely couple. Looking forward to visiting again! Thank you so much for the lovely day and memories! Not sure who had a better time, the adults or the kids.

Yelp
Just wrapped up a week at Farm Camp. My kids LOVED it! Songs, swimming, farm animals, and the most kind, fun, and welcoming hosts you could imagine. My sister recommended it to me because her son loved it so much 18 years ago... and they are still going strong. My friend actually called me to thank me for the recommendation after day 2 of camp, because her daughter couldn't stop talking about how much she loved it. We will definitely be going back next summer!

Yelp
I have visited the Painted Pony farm on several occasions - Pam and Steve invite me out once or twice a year when they have Girl Scout troops coming to see their animals and farm. I come out as an unpaid guest lecturer to compliment the farm visit and help the Girl Scouts earn a badge for learning about wildlife. The Painted Pony is a full time, fully operational EDUCATIONAL farm. Their focus is on teaching kids the ins and outs of farm life and the daily care and life of the farm animals. It is a real farm and the farm animals have real fates. When I was there last weekend they were selling a bunch of piglets. Maybe for breeding/stud or maybe to grow up to be food. They stress the fact that they're a real farm and not a petting zoo or other "entertainment" animal operation. Pam and Steve (who run the farm) are both really nice and friendly people. They are really good with kids and with their animals (of course) and it's always a pleasure to visit them.

Yelp
Great experience for smaller aged children. The farm isn't too big, which is actually a big plus for littler ones. Very achievable area to cover and time to expect little ones to attend and behave. Holding baby chickens and getting to feed a nursing goat while it was milked were highlights for my little girl. As well as getting a tour of the apple picking orchard that will be ready for fall. Farmer Pam and Steve were wonderful as well. They were patient with groups of children, and their passion for the education of young children was evident.

Yelp
The Painted Pony is a great place to take your kids for camp. Not only do you get to rest easy knowing that your children are in great hands with the Colvard family, but they get to spend their days learning about farm animals in beautiful and scenic Santa Paula. The Colvards are so knowledgeable about handling many small children as they have worked for many many years at local elementary schools. I highly recommend the Painted Pony as a destination for your children's summer camp.

Yelp
Field trip. Just okay. Even my grandson (in first grade) was disappointed. I guess we were expecting more. The owners are lovely people. Nice presentation but on a whole it just didn't cut it. The really negative was their restroom option. All they had was one outhouse. Ok.... But when the toilet is almost full and and the roll of toilet paper isn't attached to the holder......it's just not acceptable when you have 25+ children that may need to use the restroom. Next was the station to wash their hands after feeding the goats. Was again a little bothered. All they had were bins full of soapy water to wash their hands in. Just didn't seem too sanitary. If your school is planning to have a field trip to the Painted Pony I would call ahead to see what their facilities are like.

Yelp
This is our second year attending this beautiful farm. My daughter absolutely loves it here! The owners are friendly and organized. They provide a safe and loving environment for the kids. Not only is it a farm but they educate the kids, do arts and crafts, make food, sing, swim in the pool, have a student store, etc.

Yelp
The schedule moved fast and they owners are compassionate, patient and were exceptional with the group of children who came from Ventura County Christian School's K4 to 4th grades. They were able to pick an apple from the orchard, see the animals, and pick a pumpkin. Nothing scary anywhere around. Great fieldtrip with exceptional views.

Yelp
This review is about their reservation and cancellation process for summer camp. I registered my son for a 1 week camp and approximately 3 weeks later we had to cancel due to a change in plans. I called and left 2 voicemails so that I could speak to someone in person and then resorted to emailing because I never got a return phone call. I did, however, get a refund for my registration MINUS A $50 CANCELLATION FEE via email notice. Now, this week in which my son was registered has a WAITING LIST (so obviously, they are not losing money) AND my cancellation notice was 8 WEEKS IN ADVANCE AND I cannot find a cancellation policy posted anywhere on their website. I am irritated and disappointed to say the least. I understand they have probably been burned before by late cancellations and therefore the $50 fee. However, I would ask that they realize things happen and plans change and to not penalize people who are trying to do the right thing and give ample notice. Despite the good reviews, I will not be booking with this camp in the future.

Yelp
We sent our 5 year old son to Farm Camp this summer. It was hands-down one of the best weeks of our entire summer!! He went to camp over 3 weeks ago, and is STILL asking when he can go back! Pam and Steve are exceptional and treat the kids like they are family! The grounds are so well kept, it even inspired us to get chickens and start a little pumpkin patch! I look forward to a lot more time spent at the Painted Pony Farm!

Yelp
Pam & Farmer Steve are AMAZING, they truly care about the children and treat them as their own. I learned a lot about the farm while I was there, knowledge that I will carry on and pass off to someone else. Great job guys keep it up
