Paisanos Pizza & Pasta

Food is good but service is the worst. I waited in line to ask for a table for three to be told I can sit anywhere I want. We sat outdoors. Twenty minutes later nobody showed up to take an order. We decided to move inside then to see if waitress would pay more attention. After another ten minutes with nobody showing up, I went to the cash register and ask. The guy told me the waitress was so busy than I can order the food at the register. They had only one waitress for the whole restaurant running from one side to other. I placed the order: a salad, pasta and two slices of pizza. At no moment I had any interaction at all with the waitress. I was told the food would be ready in 15 minutes. They served the salad first. Abour 5 minutes later they served the pizza. 40 minutes later I was still waiting for the slices. I went to the cash register and told the guy I was missing the pizza. He asked me again what slices? I told him again. 20 minutes later I get up again and asked him how much time for the slices? He asked what slices? I told him I ordered an hour ago two slices of pizza. He completely forgot about it! He placed the order "again" and the pizza guy put two slices to warm up. Two minutes later I got the slices. Very bad services and very rude waitress. He moved our table without asking for permission to make room for another table. He tood the order for that table and never asked us about what to order even we sat before that table. Also I never got a receipt of my purchase.

This is hands down one of our favorite pizza places. They offer slices and cold beer. Located in Hermosa you can sit outside and enjoy the sunset. If you're in the area I highly recommend popping in for a slice court order I had and get a full Pizza 🍕.

Came for a couple slices of pizza on a Saturday,good selection overall to choose from. Greeted by amicable staff, quick service. Appreciate that they ask what you want while waiting in line so they can cook/heat it up while waiting to pay. Ambiance is good, isn't too loud inside and seating outside was also available. Size of the slices are big, enough to feed one person, and the white chicken and BBQ chicken wee tasty. Dough was cooked well, crunchy but soft. Price per slice is very reasonable. Lot and Street parking all around.

My families favorite pizza place. Kids love this pizza. We love the atmosphere and the pizza too. We visit from San Diego and look forward to pizza here year round. It's just great to hang, chill and pizza. Staff is great people. Artie Bucco approves.

East Coast vibe pizzaria with amazing pizza of course and much more Italian fast food. Pasta, hot sandwiches, etc. It's bit crowded but most people are friendly. If you need a spot they will quickly move over to make space or give you space. Take out is your choice buy try it hot. It's definitely an experience. Plus it takes 20-30 min for your fresh pizza anyway. By the time your pizza is out you'll probably have a seat available.

Authentic. The reheated pizza slices are popular because it's fast and re-toasts nicely. However, I just discovered the calzones and I am hooked. Very reasonable prices and absolutely delicious. Be prepared to wait because they are made to order and cook, so it was 30+ minutes but worth it. Can't wait to go back!

We come yearly to Hermosa Beach and Paisanos is always a must stop for us. Their pizza is amazing. Slices are huge and the dough is fantastic. I had the white slice. My husband tried the eggplant parmesan sandwich which was also delicious. Highly recommend if you are looking for a good NY slice in Hermosa Beach! Outdoor seating is wonderful!

Excellent service without any BS. Relaxing atmosphere with a great mix of music playing. Plus they know me and my sons by name! Their chicken parm dinner is the business! Breading on the chicken isn't too thick, browned perfectly. That sauce! Bright with the right amount of acidity, plenty of garlic, fresh basil, chunks of tomato and onion-sop it all up with the legit garlic bread. Figgetaboutit Try pizza bianco with tons of fresh ricotta cheese and garlicky sautéed spinach-I top it with some oregano, crushed red pepper and parmesan then crush it. They also have tasty meatballs, great salads and legit buffalo wings and a good selection of beers. I love this place!

This place is awesome. It's an old-school New York slice joint (you can get full pizzas too). The sausage has fennel in it, which is pretty rare these days (and tasty, too). This is a counter-service, seated-serving style place if you want to eat in. Cousin Enzo has his real estate ad on the napkin dispenser, promising that, if you buy a house from him, he'll serve up a year of free Paisano's cheese pizza pies. The pizza is delicious. It's served on one of those elevated tray things, which goes well with the red and white checkered tablecloths. Try a 14" custom build with a garden salad and a friend. You won't regret it.

Wandering around Hermosa Beach, we had a hankering for Pizza. Practically across from the parking lot, we found Paisano's. We were warmly greeted and given a menu for takeout. Advised it would take about 20 minutes for a cheese pie, we sat to wait. There was a flat screen tv, but we used our cells to catch up with the news. 20 minutes later, the pizza was ready. At our hotel, we devoured our slices. Pretty good pizza. My favorite was the crust. But it was tasty overall . My hubby liked the pizza too. So give it a try and see if you agree. We're glad we did.

Classic New York style pizza right by the beach! My friends and I were in the area recently and wanted a quick bite to eat when they recommended we come here. Fantastic pizza, we chose to just grab a few slices rather than a whole pizza and loved how many options there were to choose from. I stuck with the classic cheese slice and thought it was amazing, it's hard to mess up! My friends opted for the baked ziti, white, and pepperoni slices and everyone loved them! The pizza crust is nice and crispy, and they're ready pretty quick. Loved that there was both indoor and outdoor seating.

My kids like it here, especially the lasagna. I thought it was okay. Got a pepperoni pizza and it was a 8/10, wasn't as amazing as my kids told me it was. Lol. Their mozzarella sticks were a 10/10 We did have to wait almost 30minutes, they did advise us of this because of the lasagna. They have seating outside which is great and plenty of seating inside. Customer service was great too. 10/10 Only giving it 4 stars because there were flies inside and there was sausage and pizzas uncovered and the workers weren't even noticing.

For as many years as I have been coming to Hermosa I always stop by here for late night pizza. It is one of those spots you can count on when you are out and want something quick. The pizza usually hits the spot and they have plenty of options which is why it has always been a go to. The reason I am giving it three stars instead of five is because a lot of the slices are reheated unless you order a whole pizza fresh. On top of that sometimes there are crazies hanging around and the younger staff will avoid customers by talking to them instead of focusing on the people inside. The pizza is good but those things do take away from the experience. They have both inside and outside seat so the ambience is depended on where you sit.

Another trip back, another dinner. Best pizza in the South Bay hands down. Best NY pizza from a NY girl...crisp slightly burned crust, right amount of oil, cheese and sauce. Perfection!!!

Saw the sign out front that says New York style pizza and I wanted to try. Relatively small pizza shop, one side where you walk in and order and the other side there's indoor seating with some dining tables. As soon as you walk in their pizza selections are on display, which I think is really nice so you know what you're ordering instead of only looking at the menu. Line moved pretty quick, and they're quick with taking our orders. They heat up your pizza slice from the ones on display. I had the White Chicken Pizza and the first bite was hands down delicious. Had some ricotta cheese for the white base with chicken, roasted tomato, and red onions--all on top of a thin New York style crust--perfect combo. Their pizza slices are all just short of $5 as of June 2025. I'd come back to try their other flavors. (9/10)

Oh my GOD the baked ziti slice of pizza...why wasn't I introduced to this before! When we arrived, it was verrrry packed inside but there was available seating outdoors which was great. The service was also impeccable considering the crowd. I will 100% be back for this and to try all the other options here!

Went here after a late night Charger game from out of town and it was the best pizza we had in so long!!! It was such a delight after being so tired from the game! The location is killer too! just a 2 minute walk to the beach!

Walked in to an array of pizzas on display. We ordered a meatball sub, slice of pepperoni pizza, and a salad with blue cheese salad dressing. A grumpy server came out with our salad which was good but we didn't get blue cheese dressing and when i asked for another salad dressing he walked away and came back with something. No smile, no warmth just plopped out plates down! The ambiance is very typical New York pizza style ambiance. Not impressed with the food much less the service!

We went here after swimming all day in the ocean and it really hit the spot. We got a large pepperoni pizza and a pasta to share. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. We will be coming here every time we visit the beach.

This pizza place had good New York Style Pizza- available to be purchase by slice and by pie with the option of other kinds of dishes. I like that they stay open late- definitely the perfect spot to go after going out to the bars on Hermosa Beach Pier! It wasn't a 5 star for me just because my baked ziti slice of pizza was super burnt. The guys working were super nice and warmed up another slice for me for free but that was just alittle disappointing. Overall I think this pizza shop had great service I just feel the crust on even the non-burnt slice was just alittle too hard for my liking. But if you are a thin New York style lover- this may be your place!

Hands down, best pizza you will ever have! I've enjoyed it sober, drunk, and now with my kiddo and it never disappoints! I love that I get to experience this place through all seasons of my life and even most now with my kiddo. Son rated it by hugging it while eating and saying "mommy I love pizza" Service is quick. Food is fresh! Ambiance gives you a vibe of walking through the streets of New York and enjoying a small mom and pop pizzaeria. LOVE IT!

I used to love thier pizzas. I had been a customer for over 20 years now and would get pizza here at least once a month. However, the last few orders here had really been a great disappointment. I thought I got them on a bad day. So I ordered again. And again. 3 times in a row, they skimped on the cheese!!! You are now eating 2 inches of crust with tomato sauce and receding cheese. SADLY, your 16" pizza has been reduced to a 14" pizza. On our most recent visit, we decided to dine in. $60 later; ordering a 16" veggie pizza, tiramisu, pana cota, and drinks, my son wanted a slice of pepperoni pizza instead. So my 9 yr old son walked up and ordered his pizza. He waited so patiently for his pizza, but the pizza guy passed up on his pizza letting it sit out and didn't hand it to him. He never called my son's name. He ignored him after taking his money. He never called my son's name. So I walked up to ask for my son's pizza and what's with the hold up? The pizza guy was rude to me also. He said to my son, "You should speak up! The pizza has been sitting here!" So he took the old pizza that was sitting out and "reheated" it. He then gave my son a burned slice of pizza. My kid was so hungry, he quickly took the slice of pizza to his seat. But it was BURNT!!! That was not okay by mommy standards so I took the slice of pizza back to pizza guy behind the counter and asked him give my son a fresh slice of pizza and one that is "NOT BURNT." My son did eventually get his slice of pepperoni pizza but overall, this place isn't what it used to be. Both their service and pizza are in dire need of quality assurance/control. On a positive note, their tiramisu and pana cotta were delicious. But it's not enough for us to return to Paisanos. After all these years, I will be looking for a new spot for my pizza indulgence! They really should treat children better.

Great stop for a slice and a beer after a long day, or night, of fun. The service is quick and friendly, plenty of seating in the restaurant and outside areas also. Definitely worth a try!

Paisanos was okay. People come here for slices of pizza and a beer all the time. We had a somewhat large group so we ordered full-sized pizzas, and they were pretty mediocre, even fresh out of the pizza oven. The dough is not particularly flavorful and the toppings were okay. The biggest upside is that it's walking distance to the beach, off Pier Ave next to all the retailers. And there's a patio that's dog-friendly and great for people watching. Come for the sunshine, not for the pizza.

Super angry- walked in, placed my order for a 14" pie to go- came back in 15 minutes and was given the only small pie in the oven- got home, Its the wrong pizza- and to make it worse, the crust is like leather- I phoned in so that the next person didnt get the wrong pie also, the guy on the phone was great, understanding and apologetic, but I would have been better off getting a pizza from ANY PLACE ELSE including one of the gross chains- Not the first time Paisanos has screwed me, because they just dont seem to give a shit anymore- bad dough, and my order wasnt even made- A crappy end to a strenuous day

Paisano's in Sherman Oaks has by far the best pizza I have ever eaten!I have made my own pizza and eaten many pizzas and this is the real deal and authentic Italy at its best! The crust is outstanding and the sauce (gravy) is better than my grandmother ever made. It was not salty or over spiced. Visually each pizza was a work of art to look at. I thought to myself this place should be named Picasso's. Paisanos is my new favorite pizza restaurant! I will visit it every time I come to Sherman Oaks.

Being from New York State, where we like to think we have the best pizza in the country, living in LA for half a century has been like living in a "pizza desert;" with very few exceptions, the pizza is consistently disappointing. But Paisano's pizza was like a breath of fresh air! When they claim they have New York style pizza, they're not kidding! It was thin crust, with 3 sizes available (14", 16" and 18"), though they also have some deep dish available for those who like it thicker! And there are always about a half dozen varieties available by the slice, and the slices are HUGE! We also split an antipasto salad, which was not only delicious, but also enough for 3 or 4 people! They're also open very late several nights, which is a real plus! It's a family-owned operation, run by Dino, and his brother and dad. Service is fast, friendly and efficient! This is my new go-to pizzeria and Italian restaurant when in the South Bay. (I sure wish we had something like Paisano's across town in Pasadena! The taste, texture, consistency and the way the sauce, dough, cheese and toppings come together is CLASSIC NY!

1) There are times when you have to prepare/cook/serve food. 2) There are other times when you have to clean up with mops/brooms/brushes/rags/liquid & powdered cleansers. 3) There are other times when you cannot avoid sneezing or wiping your face. Does every Paisanos employee wash their hands thoroughly (easily viewable by customers) when they transition from #2 or #3 to #1? No. Does every Paisanos employee wear a hat (or some kind of head-covering that keeps hair from getting into/onto the food)? No. Just because an eatery has it's walls adorned with photos of Sinatra or Brooklyn circa 1948 doesn't excuse them from following this hygiene protocol. Bathroom smelled unpleasant and the smell was not from me and not from any liquid or solid excreta from a prior guest.

I would say if you are buzzed and have lost much of your tastebuds then this place could work. Place seems to do most of their business on dried out looking pies in the window case. At first the reheated crispy crust works for the first 1-2 bites off the tip of the pizza after that it gets dried out and chewy. I've tried 4-5 different slices over time at around $5 a slice and we can just do better. Maybe a fresh pie would be better but slices are better at Pedones in Redondo or riviera pizza in Redondo plus about a third less. Don't like wasting a meal so won't be coming back here. Too many better pizzas for less out there.

I got here just before closing because I was really hungry. Despite arriving with only thirty minutes to spare, the staff was welcoming, and the pizza was fantastic. I'll be sure to come back the next time I'm in town.

The Cheese bread has the best cheese pull ever! The hot wings are so juicy and meaty! This place is great for a late night soak up, or after the comedy show. The pizza is so cheesy and not too much sauce. The white chicken pizza is good, but nothing too special. The service is alright, but they did forget our cheesy bread and we had to go back.

Decent pizza spot for late night after the bars! The prices are also affordable and there is a small seating area indoor along with a patio outside portion. I wouldn't come here though any other time for pizza besides late night as it's just okay.

Ordered the Paisano slice and they served me a cold slice. After taking a bite, I explained this to the cashier and the guy with the arm tattoos was extremely rude. He instantly stated it's a health code violation to reheat the pizza and to stop giving him attitude. I never asked to reheat the slice, I actually wanted a refund. Worst service ever. Threw the pizza away and did not receive a refund.

Biggest sandwich I've ever had and they had a New York Dolls poster on the wall what's not to love

Every other weekend my son and I pick a spot to try a slice of pizza. This weekend was Paisanos. It was almost $13 for two slices and one bottle of water. The man taking orders was not the least bit friendly or inviting and treated myself and other customers like we were annoyances. The pizza- you could taste that it had been sitting out for a while and it was also a little over cooked during the reheating process. Flavor was not bad but it was very bland. The seating outside was very nice and it had a great vibe. I would go back, but only if I'm in the area. I would not go out of my way for it.

The customer service was amazing. I love the staff here, they seem like family and treat the customers like family. The pizza slice was very big and filled me up well for my work shift. I ordered a pastrami slice and this unique flavor was almost like a flatbread rather than a pizza. I think that the ratio of toppings, dough, and sauce was good for how big the slice was. The restaurant itself is a little noisy but everyone looks like they were having a good time in Hermosa Beach.

What's not to love about a big slice of New York style pizza, soda, salad or pasta and chill laid back place that's been here since before we started visiting in 2002. The employees are no nonsense but not in a bad way, it's busy and they are keeping up with the high demand, alway helpful, kind and they are always hustling to make sure everyone is getting taken care of and their order as the line gets long but moves fast. We have always loved coming here whenever we visit Hermosa and now our two boys look forward to it too. Can't go wrong and we all LOVE Paisanos! Looking forward to our next visit next year.

Folks... if you have not got the picture as of yet, I am a Pizza FREAK. Raised on OG Italian Pizza. Now, I'm not an Expect per se, but I absolutely know which Pizza Shops I'm gonna visit again. And today I have found another Unicorn here in Los Angeles!!!! Hermosa Beach to be exact. Paisano's is a M$&@+*^#£ No Joke Pizza Joint. Wow. I walked in on a Sunday Morning, 11:30ish and these People were ready to Rock! Super F'ing Clean. Great Service. Sidewalk eating option. Checkered red & white tablecloths with the menu under plexiglass (OG), Heating Lamps, Umbrellas, and what looks like an old school relative of the family making sure the outside area is top notch. Folks it's No Joke Here. Well worth the trip! I may take home a Pie!!! So Gooooood.

Amazing food and service. White chicken pizza and the wings are bomb! I recommend. I knew the food was going to be delicious when the person attending us had an accent.

It's a good place to buy pizza by the slice after a long day on the sand. Great flavor and not too saucy. We love their classic New York style cheese. Been going here since I was a kid.

So nobody was friendly when me and my friend came in today and we frequent Pizano's quite a bit usually Dino is there and Savannah made a very very good pizza but the first pizza we got was no good. It didn't have any taste to it. it was honestly horrible. There wasn't enough cheese on it and then the people in there were not friendly. They weren't welcoming. It's just they weren't. They weren't friendly customer service and we're used to Dino and Savannah, but Savannah made it up to us and came to us and asked us if we wanted her to make another pizza and she made a great pizza but the first pizza was horrible. That's all I can say and people need to be a little bit more friendly when you walk into an establishment.

Always on point, Fast and Friendly service and Amazing Pizza. They stay packed almost all day long and never slack on quality. Please make sure you bring your Family here for a Slice or Four.

This New York style pizza place sells pizza by the slice or whole pizzas and has a wonderful outdoor seating area with peekaboo ocean views. They also have a wonderful, helpful service and a variety of different pizzas available. The pizza is delicious and there's nothing like eating outside in this fun, walkable part of Hermosa Beach. With the outdoor areas available this place is both dog friendly and kid friendly. We ordered the whiey pizza, the pepperoni pizza and the antipasto salad and they were all just great. We will put this place on favorite places list.

As mentioned in previous reviews, I love finding pizza spots whenever I'm traveling especially, single sliced pizza's because I am able to try more than one kind. I was happy to have found this spot although the parking was really bad I can't use that against them. Just plan to visit during the week day or come early, get some parking, have a few drinks and finish your night with some pizza from here. The guys who helped me was very cool, I asked for extra crispy and they made it happen! Got the baked ziti and cheese pizza both were absolutely delightful! Outdoor patio - Dog Friendly

Classic late night pizza spot just steps from Hermosa Pier. Went back for the first time in years and the white pizza was still good. Shout out to the staff, owner, and management for running a great spot for decades.

The best NY-style pizza according to my cousin! And i have to agree. We parked in the area across the street. Seems to be a lot of parking available unless it's an evening. I've been two days in a row due to my cousin's cravings LOL. We always get the large NY style crust with pepp and sausage. Delicious! They make the pies to order so it comes out hot! And the service is very fast when they're not busy. A few tables inside and outside. There's also a TV if you want to catch the game.

Not new to this, I'm true to this. Been coming here since I was young. It has been the centerpiece of a dear family tradition: riding bikes down the strand and ending with Paisano's. It's even inspired many summer playlists. Anyways, I love Paisano's so much. The girls that get it, get it. Growing up, I was a sausage pizza by the slice sort of gal. However, I'm now vegan. Years ago I was crushed thinking I'd never be able to eat Paisano's ever again. Wrong! They have vegan cheese and they make me a delicious veggie pizza every single time. Great people, love the owner!

We went there for a quick afternoon bite to eat. We were able to get pizza by the slice. We got the veggie and sausage pepperoni and both were really good. Nice big pieces. We ate at the outdoor patio on a nice warm day. Prices were good. Very good option for a quick bite near Hermosa beach

Efficient, delicious. and service with a smile. I came early, So they got my order out early... so fast. All 6 of us loved the pepperoni pizza and slices of the meatball hero. Yum!!!
