The 33 Best Restaurants in Bogotá, Colombia | Eater

"It’s impressive that this fine dining institution has been in business for more than 60 years, but more remarkable is how the classic Spanish restaurant has maintained its excellent standards for food and service over its long life. Start with a few tapas from the bar menu and move on to the cochinillo (suckling pig), paella, or lamb chops. The formal dining room attracts the city’s elite, everyone from politicians to celebrities." - Liliana López Sorzano

My uncle used to eat here all the time, decades ago. He felt at home and appreciated that rare possibility of being fed even better than at home. This restaurant has a rich history and it still definitely lives up to it. All the food is excellent, but this time, we focused on tapas… I probably tried 7 of them and they were all as good as you’d find at the most respected spots in Madrid. The restaurant itself is designed in a classical style that is timeless. Upstairs they have a separate, more private bar. There is also a very quaint outdoor sitting area. Servers are true professionals. This is easily a top-5 restaurant in Colombia for locals and for visitors in the know.

The food was delicious. Traditional ambiance, very attentive service, if you order paella you need to take into account 40-60min for preparation. Croqueta de jamon can be improved ;-) everything else was great!

Best authentic Spanish restaurant in Colombia in my opinion. From the service to the menu of appetizers and main dishes to desserts or the wine or drink selections, everything is first class. One of my favorite appetizers from Spainish restaurants is Boqueones ( fresh anchovies in olive oil and vinegar and garlic ) , this restaurant had them served absolutely delicately and served as delicious as the ones you get in Madrid . We also had the garlic mushrooms and then the Chetaubriabd steak whicb was absolutely cooked to perfection . Wife had the veal Milanese and asparagus soup which was delicious. We had Spanish red wine and it was delicious. The place has a classy vibe with indoor and outdoor seating . Elegant , professional and courteous. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant has a great bar and seating area that does not encroach on the dining area . Highly recommended.

I wasn’t sure at first but the quality of the food was insane. The oxtail was amazing, the service is attentive but you are paying technically American prices so it’s pricier than most regular Colombian restaurants. I will definitely be back!

The food was good but not amazing. The tapas were quite good. We had the chipirones, the pulpo a la gallega and the croquetas. The croquetas and the chipirones were incredible. The pulpo was chewy and not very good. The arroz caldoso de pato was very bad. We had to give it back. The waiters were excellent, friendly and helped us get a taxi afterwards. The place was nice. Not very good for children.
