The 22 Best Restaurants in Richmond, BC - Eater

"There are a few fish and chip restaurants on or by the water in Steveston — the historic fishing village that’s part of Richmond — and many consider Pajo’s to be the best. Choose from cod, salmon, and halibut, which come battered, fried, and loaded in large paper cones that conveniently fit into holes on the outdoor tables. Enjoy water views while delighting in fresh fish wrapped in a thin and crisp, tempura-like shell. [$$]" - Jay Friedman

Perfectly cooked fish with a light crispy batter. Fun atmosphere right on the water. Friendly staff and quick service. Expensive but they have bottomless fries and fountain pop. Overall a great experience.

Google
A Famous Fish & Chips Spot at Steveston Wharf Located right in the heart of the touristy Steveston Wharf, this popular fish and chips spot almost always has a lineup — and for good reason. Their menu is simple and focused: classic fish and chips or fish tacos. On busy days, don’t expect extras like shrimp or calamari — they stick to the basics. A cold beer pairs perfectly with the meal, but make sure to bring your own or grab one nearby, as they don’t sell alcohol on-site.

I loved the experience! The atmosphere is super pleasant, and the food truly stands out compared to many restaurants in the area. The flavors are amazing, and the versatility of the menu makes it easy to enjoy your meal even while strolling along the pier — which I found to be a charming touch. Another highlight is the generous portion sizes, plus the free refills on fries, which is a rare and welcome bonus. Overall, my experience was excellent, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

Hands down, the BEST fish and chips I’ve had in Vancouver! Pajo’s is an absolute gem if you’re looking for fresh, crispy seafood with a view. We visited on a sunny afternoon, and everything about the experience was spot on—from the food to the setting. We ordered the halibut and cod fish & chips, red snapper burger, squid tacos, cod taco, and a ginger beer. The batter on the fish was light, crunchy, and perfectly seasoned. The halibut was melt-in-the-mouth good, and the cod was flaky and fresh. The red snapper burger was a surprise favourite—juicy, flavourful, and satisfying. The tacos were loaded and fresh, with a good balance of crunch and tang. But what really makes Pajo’s special is the location. You’re sitting right by the water, seagulls overhead, boats passing by—it’s the perfect Vancouver summer vibe. There’s lots of outdoor seating, and it’s great for families, dates, or even solo foodie trips. Service was quick, staff were friendly, and everything was served hot and fresh. I’d recommend going on a weekday or early lunch if you want to avoid crowds. If you're visiting Vancouver or just haven’t been to Pajo’s yet—go! It’s one of those places that lives up to the hype. Can’t wait to go back and try more from the menu.

Visited Pacos Fish and Chips and decided to try something a little different from the usual seafood—I ordered the burger and bottomless fries. The burger was surprisingly good—juicy, flavorful patty with fresh toppings and a nicely toasted bun. It definitely hit the spot, though not quite gourmet-level, it was solid comfort food. The bottomless fries were the highlight—crispy, hot, and constantly refilled without needing to ask. A big plus for fry lovers! The staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was quick despite a busy crowd. I’d love to come back and try their signature fish and chips next time.

Google
On my quest to find the best fish and chips in town, I came across this spot in Steveston, and it did not disappoint. The fish was fresh and juicy with a perfectly crispy batter, and the chips weren’t soggy at all. I took a full bite of the halibut tacos and they were chef’s kiss. The staff were super friendly when being asked for extra lemon wedges and tartar sauce. I’m literally salivating writing this while looking at the photo. I was surprised to learn they also have locations at YVR Airport and in Port Moody, but I feel like this one’s the best, especially for the seating. Tons of patio space right on the deck, which would be perfect on a sunny summer day. I’ll definitely be back and would totally recommend it!

Had one piece wild cod fish and chips, love the newspaper cone container, tables have holes in them where the cones fit perfectly. French fries delicious, fish was a bit greasy for me. Beautiful waterfront family owned place though since 1986

Google
Pajo’s Fish and Chips – Steveston Wharf Location: Steveston Wharf, Richmond, BC Food Two Halibut Tacos with Fries Pajo’s Fish and Chips, known for its coastal charm, serves up a pair of halibut tacos that ultimately fail to impress. The fish was warm but disappointingly bland, lacking the seasoning and flavor expected from a dish of this caliber. The tacos, despite their appealing presentation, were underwhelming, with no standout ingredients or unique flavors to elevate the experience. The accompanying fries were average at best—crispy but not particularly noteworthy. Rating: 4/10 Zucchini Sticks The zucchini sticks were served warm, with a light crunch, but the dish was marred by a watery dipping sauce that detracted from the overall enjoyment. A more substantial, flavorful sauce could have significantly enhanced the dish, but as it stood, it was simply passable. Rating: 5/10 Ambiance The setting at Steveston Wharf offers a relaxed, open-air experience that stands as one of Pajo’s strengths. Dining on a dock with a view of the water provides a charming atmosphere, perfect for a casual meal. However, the presence of seagulls and other birds is a notable downside, as they can be a nuisance while eating, particularly for those who prefer a more peaceful environment. Rating: 6/10 Price While the location offers a scenic view, the pricing feels somewhat steep for the quality of food provided. Given the unremarkable flavors of the dishes, the prices appear inflated, making the value-for-money aspect less compelling. Service The service, unfortunately, was subpar. While the staff member at the counter was polite and friendly, the experience left much to be desired in terms of attentiveness. When I asked about the Pajo’s chowder, I was informed that it was sold out, despite it being early in the day—raising questions about the restaurant’s stock management. Additionally, after cleaning the bench beside me, the staff member did not check in to see how we were enjoying the food, which felt like a missed opportunity for engagement. Rating: 3/10 Verdict Pajo’s Fish and Chips at Steveston Wharf offers a pleasant location, but the overall dining experience fails to live up to expectations. The food, though decent, lacks flavor and originality, while the service and pricing do not provide the value one might hope for in this type of setting. While the waterfront ambiance may draw some visitors, the overall quality makes it unlikely that I’ll be returning in the near future.

Yelp
Always a great meal at Pajo's Rocky Point in Port Moody. The halibut is so moist and fresh and fantastic french fries. I attended on Saturday, June 22nd. Would absolutely love it if they had scallops. I would be there every weekend. I was served by a very nice young lady names Raf. Thank you Carole Murphy

Yelp
Lovely experience eating on the pier! Would absolutely come back again! There was no line when I ordered, but the wait for the order was longer than expected. Tons of people started queuing up right after I ordered. 5/5 cod, salmon, and halibut -- the tempura style batter is so crisp and the fish is light and flaky. 4.5/5 Bottomless fries - crispy, we went back for seconds!

Yelp
Sad the city cancelled the contract for the Garry pt location. Portions have def gotten à lot smaller. Fish and chips are still one of my favourite in métro van. Bottomless handcut fries. Fast turnover, online ordering. They added some more seating at the top of the wharf and somehow there are less seagulls than usual.

Yelp
Yum! So fun eating fish and chips on the pier. We got two pieces of cod with the bottomless fries for ~$23. A little pricey but the fish was very delicious with a nice crispy light batter. Bottomless fries was nice too - just go up front. You can also ask them for an empty cup for water (there's a fountain) and plates to share. Ketchup is self serve and they give you the tartar sauce and lemons.

Yelp
Wow the line was long but it moved fast! Hard to find a shady spot to eat. They are a great fish n chips place because they have a variety of fish to choose from. We got Salmon, Cod, and Halibut. The salmon was my favorite because it had a sweetness to it. The fries were ok, I recommend just getting the fish. I likes the creativity of their tables with holes and they give you the fish in a cone where the table holds it stable. Their salad was also very tasty and refreshing!

Yelp
Perfect place for a fish and chips spot! Located right on the water along Steveston Wharf, which is still a hub of commercial fishing. All sorts of fried goodies! I went with the Pacific wild cod and halibut. Pieces were not huge but were fried well in a nice crispy batter. Fries themselves were decent but not the highlight here. Food is served in a sort of papery cone for easy holding. The seats around the place come with convenient holes that your cone of fried goodness perfectly fits into for easy eating. Apparently, a fish taco or burger order can come with "bottomless fries" which I did not test. Beware the seagulls here show up in force and can get a bit pushy looking for a free meal!

Yelp
The cod was perfectly done with flaky fish and light batter. The fries were crispy and it was just what we wanted.

Yelp
I have been to Pajo's twice and didn't realize I've actually never posted about it! Summer is always the best time to go anywhere. It's so relaxing to just grab some food from Pajo's and eat near the Steveston harbour. Pajo's is famous for their fish & chips, so we got the halibut and snapper fish & chips. To be very honest, I think their fish & chips is just fine. I do like their thin and crispy batter, but the halibut we got was a bit dry and it doesn't really have a lot of flavour. The snapper actually has more flavour than the halibut, and it was less overcooked. Overall, I do think the fish & chips are okay, I just wouldn't consider coming back for it very often.
google avatar

Jeff R.

Yelp
Really good fish and chips served with a nice tarter sauce. Not greasy and the halibut is fresh and tender and light. Batter is fluffy and so tasty. Fries are crispy. Service was great and they move a lot of customer through quickly. Just be careful walking down the dock plank as it's very steep and rubber sold is definitely a must.

Lilly W.

Yelp
We came for the cod fish and chips which is always on point. The batter is light and fish is so fresh. I would come back again to try other items from the menu. Staff is friendly and service is quick.

Yelp
Our fish and chips at Pajo's were tasty, and I also liked the mushy peas. They get super busy though, so plan to wait in a long line, especially on a sunny day.

Yelp
Went for a bike ride along the dike in Richmond which means a stop at Pajo's on the wharf in Steveston for fish n chips. Came by around 11:30 on the Monday of the long weekend in October. Secured a table which is always a plus as it does get busy with nice weather any weekend around this time. The views are great of the wharf with all the boats...hard to beat on a sunny day. Opted for the 2 piece cod and chips. I did like the presentation of the fish on top of the fries. And love how they still serve the fish and chips in cones which fit nicely into the holes cut in the table. There was no issue with the service. The taste of the cod was good...crisp and not overly greasy. The portion size I believe has decreased since my last visit. And while I did enjoy the fries, I found they were not seasoned or salted in anyway...very bland. It was a positive food experience but more for the destination and views.

Yelp
Terrible chips, good fish. We ordered halibut and it was very flakey and cooked well. Battering was thin, crispy, and not oily tasting. On the Friday that we went, we only had a ten minute wait between ordering and receiving our food. Minus stars for the stale and soggy fries. Honestly some of the worse fries I've ever had. If it weren't for the ketchup and tarter sauce I dunked these fries into, these fries would've gone straight into the trash. There's an option to order just the fish so I strongly recommend doing just that.

Yelp
Got here about 15 minutes before closing, and a good thing I did because at 8 pm, they closed the window and wouldn't take any more customers, even the pleading woman at 8:02 pm! I was rushing to get here from where I was sightseeing, and this remarkable place didn't disappoint!! Though I agree with other reviewers that the size of the fish pieces was a little smaller than I would have expected for the price. I got one piece of snapper with fries. It was a special through tomorrow. Then I got a piece of Halibut to add one. For a tiny piece for $12.50! A nice light batter with good and crispy fries. It was delicious and came out within five minutes of ordering. It is worthwhile to visit this amazing restaurant right on the after. Note, it isn't fancy but it is nice and the food makes it worth it!! Highly recommend

Janelle S.

Yelp
Not worth the price or the wait - the batter on the fish was good. Fries, very average. Woman on the check-out was very pleasant.

Yelp
THE STEVESTON WHARF PAJO'S IS OPEN!!! The Garry Point location is closed. As always, absolute halibut and chips perfection at Pajo's on Steveston Wharf, plus lovely quick service and picnic tables with umbrellas. Visited today with my granddaughter and introduced her to Pajo's halibut, which she'd never had before. She was over the moon (we both were) because the food was so good. Plus, bottomless pop as well as chips?!?!?! Wow! We took the bus out from Kitsilano to visit Steveston and loved everything about the place. Charming shops, charming people working in those shops, and an all-around delightful day. But the highlight was those gorgeous fish and chips at Pajo's. Yes, it's expensive. But that's not Pajo's fault. The price of fish is off the chart. Have you ever tried to buy fresh halibut? It's not something that can grace my table very often! It's a very special treat once in awhile and nobody does it better than Pajo's. Perfection! We give it 11/10!!!

Yelp
A cold and blustery day in Steveston means you need to warm up with some good food. Nothing like having some fresh fish and chips! We had their famous (and ocean-wise) sustainable 3 piece cod with double (maybe triple fried) chips. The batter was light and airy with no hint of grease. The cod was super flaky and loved the tartar sauce they included. The chips were super crunchy and I would have liked them to be more potato-ey if that makes sense. Loved their halibut fish tacos! Beautifully cooked delicate halibut with an amazing slaw. That combo is terrific! Would love to come back on a hot summer day and enjoy eating this on the water!
google avatar

Azadeh S.

Yelp
We were there in the summer for lunch which is not very recommended, they have patio umbrella but it's not flexible which means we seat under the sun without a shade. We had Alaskan wild halibut (2 pc), cod burger, and 2 pacific wild cod & fries (2 pc). I would say, it's not as good as we heard about them, normal fish and chips but pricy! We love seafood especially fish and chips and try so many fish and chips shops/restaurants. if you live nearby it's ok but for us, not worth the trip. Parking was available nearby at lunchtime but in the evening maybe a bit hard as Stevenson is a very popular place.
google avatar

Jacqueline L.

Yelp
So delicious and fresh! We ordered the cod and salmon fish n chips which comes with refillable fries (love it!). I recommend the cod more. Salmon was good but it's drier and flakier than the cod. What surprised me the most was how light the batter is. Everything just tasted so fresh and not greasy at all even though it's fried food. The Pajo's chowder was some of the creamiest chowder I've ever had so highly recommend. My only compliant is it's so small that we devoured it in seconds.

Erik T.

Yelp
Very overpriced for what you get. Can get better in any pub close to you. Size is very small, but if you think "quality over quantity," unfortunately that's not the case here. Tastes pretty good but not worth the price. But kind of a bucket list thing so may as well try it still.
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
I got the fish and chips 2 piece. I thought the fries were not crunchy enough. The fish was a bit too oily for me. The fish was very flaky.
google avatar

Brenda K.

Yelp
I was here for a family lunch on May 2nd, Sunday. Because Pajo's is a famous restaurant, I felt so excited to see if this places was really good. I personally felt there was TOO much hype going on. We ordered the total of 5pcs of Cod and a Chips with a drink. Fish and Chips came out as is without Coleslaw, and the food was disappointing for the price. Cod was tender, but it was NOT crispy. Fries were terrible it was dry and soggy. I could tell the fries weren't cooked well and the tray were SO greasy after finishing our food. Tartar sauce looked like it was a mix of mayo and pickles. Money is better spent elsewhere. I believe Go Fish is SO much better than Pajo's,and would prefer going to GF for Fish and Chips instead.
google avatar

Vector C.

Yelp
Greasy and expensive for what you get... but mainly greasy. The best thing about this place is the location but the food doesn't make up for that.
google avatar

Jadyn N.

Yelp
Pretty good fish and chips. Chips were very crispy and the fish was very tasty, not oily. Really big pieces of fish. All order were made to order. They had a big seating area.
google avatar

Yelp
I can't believe it took me so many years to finally try the fish and chips here. I don't remember having it as a teenager at all. It was usually crowded when we came here or at the other outlets so I never bothered with it. Plus I was not a huge fan of fish and chips so I hardly crave for it. I finally decided to try it as it was empty when I was there. Covid-19 has really reduced visitors in this area. I ordered the cod and chips with mushy peas. The fish was fabulous! Lightly coated and fried to perfection. It was a similar texture to a good tempura batter -- light and crispy and not oily. The fries were similar, crisp edges and soft inside. The service was fantastic too. I was given all the typical condiments -- tartar sauce, vinegar, salt, pepper and ketchup. Now I know why this place is a favorite for many of my friends.
google avatar

Joanna L.

Yelp
Hope I got the right one. I went to the one on the docks of Steveston as it was a takeout window and I was in the area. The service for the cashier wasnt that great, but the person who handed me my food and condiments was nice. I like that they have the option of ordering just fish so I got wild Alaskan halibut. The one piece was plenty for me. The fish was nicely done. Light and not too heavy on the batter. The tartar sauce was good and I enjoyed it. I'd say it is decent and I would go back
google avatar

Gabriel C.

Yelp
Pajo's used to be our go-to spot in Steveston but unfortunately, the quality has gone down while the prices have risen considerably. Since Pajo's seems to employ a lot of high school kids, the food quality is rather inconsistent. You may or may not receive extremely oily food but that depends on whether your meal was prepared by a teenager testing out the fryer on his first week of work. I guess it's still somewhat worth it for a tourist to visit Pajo's since it's uniquely situated on the water and you're able to enjoy your meal on the docks surrounded by boats. Lastly, it is nice that they are 100% Ocean Wise and their tartar sauce is still delicious. Pajo's definitely isn't one of the top food choices in Steveston, but you could just visit for the novelty.
google avatar

Maling S.

Yelp
I had an appointment in Steveston so we decided to head to Pajos's for lunch. Late lunch at Pajo's Fish and Chips at Fisherman's Wharf Steveston location. It rained earlier but it stopped when we arrived to order. We found a dry spot to devour the 3 piece cod with fries and 2 halibut tacos with fries. Very tasty fresh cod and halibut. Rain or shine Pajo's always taste yummy!
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
It has a wide variety of fish and chips and many other food with seafood! It is super amazing! I think so far it is the best in town for fish and chips. It is not that pricey too, and the cod fish is just super amazing. The fries are okay. The tartar sauce is good too! Recommended and would come back again to try other of its food!
google avatar

Renee R.

Yelp
Amazing fish n chips. In fact I want to say the best I've had. It was so good and fresh we all finished it to the last bone or fry I should say. Their tarter sauce was really really good and I LOVE being able to sit down by the docks to eat. The only pit w any fish n chips is how greasy it is. definitely can't eat it alone I felt like maybe my arteries were getting clogged bite by bite :-/

Angie R.

Yelp
GROSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! the fish was sold in wet soggy batter gross. the fried were gross. this place deserves 0ZERO!!!! the old women on the handing out the food was nasty. it cost 60$ for gross ass slop. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!
google avatar

Angela L.

Yelp
Pacific wild cod & fries 1 pc ($12) 2 pc ($15) Signature tartar sauce included! Their cod has a very mild flavor and every bite was soft & tender. The signature tempura batter was fairly oily as expected but it was still crispy adding a good crunch! Even though the fries are bottomless, the first round was already filling for me! I would recommend getting some to-go since you can get your moneys worth. The fish & chips were kinda plain & not salty so dipping them in their signature tartar sauce (or ketchup) is a must! It's slightly pricey but portions are pretty decent. Their prices are going up too. On a Tuesday me and my friend only waited for 10 mins to get the food, very efficient and they provided the utensils we needed! We went to the one at the dock where they have around 5 tables, I think they should have employees cleaning them once in a while.
google avatar

Sara A.

Yelp
The best fish and chips in Steveston. The lineups are usually long but it is worth the wait. They are cod halibut and salmon fish and chips options. The batter is crispy and not overly greasy. The chips are nice but I personally prefer something crispier. The tartar sauce is delicious. The price point is reasonable for the quality that they offer. Lots of seats that a picnic style for families with kids or groups. They are now five locations of this establishment across Richmond
google avatar

Chantel C.

Yelp
Visiting from out of town and stopped here specifically because a friend said it was one of the best fish & chips he had. They didn't disappoint. It's right on the pier so it's all outdoor seating, great view of the boats and the water. No line at all on a Saturday afternoon, it was cold outside (December) but they had small heaters. Ordered the pacific cod and the Alaskan halibut. Food came out quick and was very hot and fresh. The breading was crispy, not too thick, and the fish was soft and flavorful. Fries were standard and abundant. The staff was super friendly and I noticed the girl even spoke different languages and could help out a customer who didn't speak English. I would definitely return if I was in the area again!
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
I like I like What did I get I got the salmon 2 piece and also the cod 2 piece and they all come with bottomless fries! WHAT?! Honestly I don't need the refill on the fries... it was nice marketing ad though... I like the batter mix for this and the fish is nice and soft. Environment This is by the dock. There is only outdoor seating when I went. It was cold on the day I went, the heat could be hotter..... There are a number of seats and low tables... to me it isn't as comfortable to sit and eat. Niceness of the staff The staff was regular. Nothing special about them. I was able to get the order. Dollar I thought it was rather pricey... but then again it is fish.. so acceptable...? Yes? If I am in the area I would.
google avatar

James F.

Yelp
Three of us bicycled to the location. Two orders of Halibut and one order of Cod two piece offerings. Fish was excellent, tasty and cooked to perfection. Fries were a different story. Soggy, greasy and definitely the bottom of the bucket. The fries were mostly broken bits mixed with brunt pieces. Recommend skip the fries.
google avatar

Jonathan W.

Yelp
Ah-maze-ing! I always loved and frequently visited Pajo's when living in the area. On our last return, I knew I had to make a return visit but I was also worried if it was still as good - both in terms of quality and whether my nostalgia may have over hyped it. Well I jumped back in and was pleased to enjoy fish and chips that's still one of my favorite of all-time. In spite of being right on the water, I knew it was unlikely that they picked the fish right off the nearby boats. But with that said, the fish is still far better than virtually any other place I can think about. And what I also remember about Pajo's is their perfect batter which they have perfected in: taste, texture, amount and about everything else - on top of always being perfectly cooked. Throw that in with fresh-cut fries and you have some of the best F&C out there.
google avatar

Long K.

Yelp
3.5 stars: Not the best ever considering our wait on Canada Day, but serviceable enough. Came here as a recommendation and the line was starting on the top dock even before being allowed down to the bottom one only to stand in line and wait more. You get to choose from various fish and chips: cod, salmon, halibut, all at different price premiums. Seasonings and condiments (salt highly recommended) are available after you get your order. The fish pieces could be a bit larger (heard some people complain to the staff) and the fry batter more high quality; dare I say it's borderline soggy. The chips/fries are nothing special. Seating was limited when it was super packed, with tons of table vultures lurking around. The turnover rate for tables to open up was slow (annoying) for such a simple meal. Although there are carved out holes to place your paper cone of food into them.

Kamilla F.

Yelp
Slow slow slow! How slow can you get? There's not even a line up... the workers are so inefficient. By this point I don't even want to eat it anymore!
google avatar

Sheren M.

Yelp
When going to sea side, it's better to go for finding something to eat. Definitely will recommend this fish and chips!!! Freshly make and it's casual to eat it.

Yelp
Apparently I have been a "bad mother" (according to my friends who know this history): my kids had never had traditional fish and chips. And they're 17 and 20. Oh, I've been so remiss, so negligent, to have deprived them from such culinary wonders! Well, no more. Those mortifying days are O-VER. I brought my kids and met my friends here at Pajo's, as my friends raved about the fish and chips here (specifically the halibut). So we ordered the 3-pieces of halibut with bottomless "chips" (i.e., fries). (It cost $22, BTW)l. The kids are still talking about this meal. They say they "died and went to heaven". The halibut was perfectly cooked, dense and yet not heavy, moist and flavorful, and the outer fried coating was crispy and light and not at all greasy in the least. The tartar sauce that came with it was delicious. And the fries were so good that they went back for seconds. I had also ordered a side of cole slaw and, to be honest, this was a big disappointment. It was totally bland and devoid of any flavor or spices. It was in serious need of salt and pepper, at the least. The only subtle hint of flavor came from the raisons in the dish but even they didn't offer a lot. Normally I'd deduct a star for a subpar side dish, but in this case, the fish and chips were SO excellent that this place still rates a solid 5 stars. Planning on bringing my folks here when they visit in October. And we all can't wait!

Yelp
I ordered the 2 piece wild salmon fish and chips. The chips were good and the wild salmon was fabulous, moist and tasty. What I didn't like was the fact that each piece of fish was about 3" long and 2" wide. Each piece of fish was about 2 bites each. For $19.50 I would expect to have more fish than that. Last time I was in Vancouver and visited this restaurant, the pieces were twice as big. I don't think I can justify having wild salmon fish and chips at this place anymore. Many other restaurants that serve wild salmon fish and chips.

Yelp
Great fries and the fried cod had a nice crispy exterior. It gets busy here so be prepared to wait. The service could use some improvement as none of the front line staff were friendly or seemed happy to be there. They could also step out from behind the counter and wipe down the eating areas as none of them looked clean. Thankfully the food makes up for the lack of service and attention to surface cleanliness.

Yelp
Situated in the corner of the Steveston Pier where Pajo's is. The 3 piece fish and chips was about $20 and the seafood chowder was $7. It's a bit more expensive considering the portion size is on the smaller side. The fish batter was crispy but a little too oily and the fries were standard. I surprisingly really liked the chowder as it had a lot of seafood in it. I wish there was more of it. Overall, a nice experience to eat fish and chip by the pier but probably won't do it again as it wasn't worth the price for me.

Yelp
One of the best fish and chips in the city. A gem for the city of Richmond to be sure! They do have tables and settings but they're not much. If it's busy which it almost always is especially if the weather is decent and the sun is out. Then you'll have trouble finding a spot to eat. Now with that being said. This is Steveston we are talking about. You can find a bench and sit and eat basically anywhere. It's a nixe area to walk around as well. Doesn't have to be Pajo's area to sit and have a meal. Service is OK all things considered. The food is really good! Quality fish for sure. Chips are basically fries. So nothing special there. A good place to try for sure. Highly recommended to go and check it out.

Yelp
This place was hard to find, I almost missed it! You have to go down steps by the pier to see it. I got the 2 piece halibut and chips for $15.75, which is kind of pricey. I suggest to skip the fries and just get the fish. PROS Fish is incredibly fresh, totally white and firm friendly staff sustainable fishing CONS The fish pieces are quite small chips were stale.... not crispy personally could have more batter

Yelp
The weather was not so nice when i came..the main reason was actually to go see and take some pictures of cherry blossoms before all the flowers fall on the ground..... I visited the one by the steveston board walk, not busy im the third person to arrived but the problem after i got my ordered the rain fell as in heavy one...this is a small place by the water connected by a short suspended brindge to the board walk...a lot of sea gulls and other birds trying to share with clients foods... No wifi and no public wash room ..its all outside sitting but theres few tables under the roof....,theres big yellow umbrella on the outside sitting but this time the rain was really heavy those umbrella became useless. Service is friendly not bad at all,i had the 2pcs cod then a poutine plus a drink and tip i paid almost $25 not really cheap but still i enjoyed my meal... Free street parking, private lot and validated one...accept cash card and debit, good for kids, family and friends... Ive been here severaltimes and even if its not really cheap i keep coming back maybe its true whats in the logo...the best fish and chips in town.....

Yelp
The location is pretty cool, but it's definitely the worst fish from a fish and chippy that I've had in greater Vancouver. Food was hot and service good but the cod itself was just odd - it was chewy and square under the batter... seemed frozen not fresh to me, which is super strange since they're a fish and chip spot? I'd understand at a chain restaurant. Tartare sauce was pretty rubbish too - like mayo with a couple of pickle chunks. Wouldn't buy again.

Yelp
It's a real busy spot. A very efficient operation. An institution in Steveston B.C. Now the food: All wild caught FRESH not frozen. Cod n chips x 3 pcs. Halibut n chips x 3 pcs. X2 sides of cole slaw. D I Y dining experience: 44 bucks Canadian approx 30usd two persons lunchtime dining "in" which translates ordering at one window. Waiting for your #, to picking up round the corner & carrying from counter to seat yerself table, all whilst helping yerself to condiments including VINEGAR..... a must when the deep fryer is working OVERTIME. Yes.... twas a tad on the GREASY side .... N.B. Staff removed vinegar from my table whilst I wished some more, WITHOUT asking! Minus one star. Cole slaw tasty fresh and a generous serving for 2 bucks each.....didn't want raisins in it....they were mixed in so had to fish em out. Fish was a decent serve. Nice thin batter but happen their oil wasn't quite hot enough? Shouldn't be retaining THAT much oil imho. DATS why vinegar and or lemon juice is importantly part of the experience imho. Lotsa chips. Fresh not frozen. Couldn't wouldn't eat dat many. Suggest one order of chips 2 pax sharing. Order fish separately. 4 stars for value and QUALITY minus the service lapse which spoiled my enjoyment = a strong 3 star review 3.5 if I could

Yelp
Went to Pajos with my son for fish and chips yesterday in Steveston. Ordered the 3 piece halibut and chips. What we got was 4 tiny pieces of fish and pretty stale chips. Spent over $35. and the soft drinks are way overpriced at almost $4.00 each. APPALLED. Disappointed. Never ever going back. You want to rip off tourists go ahead, but locals are not going to be abused by you Pajo. bye bye.
