Edit: it has reopened after being bought by Bukhara and everything that made it endearing has disappeared. Now bored servers serve mediocre food. Below is what it used to be...
One of the best South Asian places in the city. Pakistanis and Indian natives, both will appreciate how delicious, spicy and flavorful the food is. After years of living in New York away from India, finally finding this place was a god sent! A near home cooked feel with a very friendly staff. The lunch specials are great value for money- for under $10 you can get any meat (lamb or fish is my favorite), two vegetables and rice or freshly made naan! That's the main selling point for me- fresh! Most expensive Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi restaurants in the city catering to spice-intolerant westerners have nothing on this little gem.
