"When you’re in need of a reliable meal that’ll have you in and out for under $20, keep Pakwan in your back pocket. The counter-service Indian and Pakistani spot in the Tenderloin serves things like chicken tikka masala and a thick, onion-heavy bengan bhartha you should definitely order. The food is solid across the board and always gets the job done. The best part: you won’t have to blow through your weekly grocery budget for a filling meal." - Julia Chen

Google
Great experience. Ayan served us and did a nice job. The portions are nice sized, and we each spent around $20 a dish. The specialty drinks are tasty and strong as well! We came on a Monday evening and were practically the only ones there. Nice location, clean environment, calm and relaxing. I recommend!

So glad to discover the best Indian restaurant in Colorado Springs! From the authentic Punjab dishes to the attentive service and comfortable surroundings, they set a very high bar. The Samosas in a chickpea sauce, Butter Chicken, Biryani and Garlic Naan were 😋 with just the right heat. Can't wait to return for more.

Google
I got the chicken tikka. My wife being vegetarian had multiple option. Aloo tikki, missi roti and the baingan bharta (one of the best I’ve had). Had good small talk with the friendly Punjabi dudes serving and also gave us good suggestions. Finally some good North Indian food.

My husband and I tried this place for the first time on Wednesday. The service was really good as was the atmosphere. The food tasted good but it was too spicy for me. I ordered the mild and my husband the medium. Neither of us could finish our meal because it was simply too spicy. If you like spicy, I would recommend Pakwan. The lasse was delicious! I would highly recommend getting the mango lasse if you come here.

Google
For the same price as a sub from one of the usual places, you could dine in a beautiful space and have a lamb curry. Pakwan is a gem hidden in a strip mall. Its mirrored windows prevent you seeing inside, but once past the door, you’ll be welcomed into a nice space that is tastefully decorated. The food was great, the server was friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Highly recommended.

The food and service were absolutely amazing. The atmosphere made it very easy to relax and read. I asked for a recommendation and it was all fantastic. I ended up with the garlic naan and lamb shish kabob as well as grabbed a pint of Winter Warlock.

Google
Delicious. Every single thing we had was excellent. From the Samosa Chaat, with this garbanzo chili I would eat by the bowl, to the Mixed Tandoori Platter, everything was well seasoned and tasty. Even the drinks were gorgeous. So happy to have a new go-to Indian restaurant.

Google
Great food and excellent service. Huge fan of the Bhindi Masala and Gulab Jamun! We got some food on the house because of a mix-up, but they were very nice and apologetic. We'll be back!

Yelp
We tried this restaurant for the first time today and we really love it. The ambience is warm and welcoming. The staff is nice and attentive. There is a great selection of dishes and beverages on menu. We had the garlic Naan, the Butter Chicken and a vegetarian curry dish, cannot remember the name, but it had cauliflower in it. We will return soon to try other dishes. 5 stars.

Yelp
It used to be good but I wouldnt recommend it to anyone anymore. I always call and order it to go. On my last order, two weeks ago, my wife found a metal brush in her butter chicken. Today when I placed my order over the phone, the person got it wrong. I didnt notice it until I left and came back. They remade the incorrect order, but didnt redo the other half of my order. I waited 20 mins for my food to be remade and was given something extremely hot and then the rest of my order from before which is now cold. How is that acceptable? I love eating cold naan (sarcasm). I wont be going back.

Yelp
Went to Pakwan and was seated immediately with no wait. The place wasn't packed but the atmosphere was great and we loved the booth seating. The food was packed with flavor and spice. We ordered the paneer tikka masala, butter chicken, and garlic naan. I love Indian food and was not disappointed one bit. I'll definitely be back soon to order the same thing.

Yelp
Great location, Great ambience with nice contrast of colors in the restaurant decor, beautiful lamps and nice decent wine selection which they have a display on the wall. I will NOT recommend veg biryani as it was not as it was suppose to be, i feel like it was more looking like veg fried rice types. Went little late with my group of friends still they accomodate us and did not rush us at all. The presentation of the food with the taste is amazing. Must try their malai paneer tikka with malai gravy which comes on the side. One of the best pan ice cream they have. Service was excellent and very friendly. 10times better than other restaurant around there ! Overall we had a great experience.

Ali A.

Yelp
The food is mediocre and overpriced compared to other Indian restaurants. To make matters worse, I found a hair in my Chicken Tikka. When I informed the waiter, they neither replaced the dish nor adjusted the price, which was disappointing.

Serene C.

Yelp
A friend recommended this place so we went to check it out. The food was good and I especially liked the pakoda platter it was very tasty and has good variety. The chicken dish (I can't remember the name) was also flavorful. Overall a decent place but it's short of 5 stars for me as it's good but not spectacular. Service was nice too. Great ambiance.

Yelp
FAMILY OWNED || HIGHLY RECOMMEND If you are in or around Colorado Springs, you should definitely go and try to out this place. They have got the best food in the area. And i would say their food is one of the best i have tried all over the United States. We were skeptical going to this place looking at the pictures online. We were exploring other options but when we chose this place and i am glad we chose this as the food was so so good. Me and my friend were not sure what to order. The server was very young girl and she could not recommend options from the menu as which are most popular dishes. But anyways we ordered Goat Biryani and Afghani Chicken Afghani Chicken - it was super super delicious. It was served with Mint Chutney and butter gravy. Goat Biryani - it was very delicious too. We requested the server to just put in a request to chef to give tender goat pieces and thats what exactly we got. The quantity was a lot for each dish we ordered. Not typical of other places i have tried. They had good decor of the restaurant with some paintings and décor representation India. I highly recommend this place to everyone and i am definitely going to this place again when i am in the area.

Neesha P.

Yelp
The food was phenomenal! I highly recommend the saag paneer and garlic naan. Manchurian was a winner our table. The Pani puri was alright. It's a spacious restaurant with good seating.

Deb G.

Yelp
The BEST Indian food in the Springs (but, please don't tell anyone!). We like to keep those coveted restaurants to ourselves.

Joy S.

Yelp
This place was amazing!! My husband and I are obsessed. The garlic naan is to die for, we get 2 orders everytime & the curries are all great as well. Service is good and it's usually not too busy whenever we do go so we get our food right awa

Alicia W.

Yelp
Have been meaning to try this place for awhile, long overdue. Came for lunch on Saturday, few tables full and the place was clean and delightful. Started with pakoda which were perfect. I could eat these all day every day. Sauce that came with it was amazing. Also ordered the cheese Naan and truffle Naan. Cheese was perfect! I mean, can you go wrong with cheese and bread? No. Truffle one was delish as well. Basically truffle oil and thinly sliced mushrooms. It was perfectly done. Entrees were goat biyirani which my companion loved. Very spicy with huge chucks of meat and a complimenting yogurt sauce. O had the shrimp tandoori which was tandoori oven goodness. If you know, you know. The mint sauce that came with was a perfect balance. The rice was soft, fluffy and separated perfectly. The gravy was also wonderfully delicious. Service was on point, lovely run family place. They care you love their food and I love them for that. Excellent

Kate M.

Yelp
Delicious! Savory and so tasty! Great service and nice decor. Good location. Butter chicken and Naan were perfect.

Sarretta M.

Yelp
We wanted some good Indian food and Pakwan was closer than our "go-to" restaurant, so we headed here for lunch. (They open at 11:30 am, BTW, not noon as the Yelp hours say.) We were greeted and seated immediately by a very friendly, smiling host who was also our server. The decor is lovely, yet understated, with lots of natural light (see pic), and the seating is well spaced and very comfortable. They started by bringing us the menus and a carafe of water and two glasses. The cold water sans ice was very tasty, but I also decided to order a masala chai, served hot and without sugar at my request (I like to add my own sweetener, lol). My husband let me order for us, so I started with Pakodas then ordered Butter Chicken and Bindi Masala for us to share. We also ordered garlic naan and paratha. The chai came out first and was very tasty. Then the Pakodas (veggie clusters fried in chickpea batter) were brought along with a sweet/spicy chutney dipping sauce. They were so tasty, the dipping sauce wasn't really even needed. My husband had never had these before, and definitely loved them! Then the rest of our entrées were bought out (see picture). The Bindi masala and butter chicken were in small serving dishes, and each of us was given a large bowl of fragrant rice. The different breads were in baskets. The garlic naan was especially delicious, being thin and crispy and well seasoned. The paratha was also delicious, but much less seasoned. The butter chicken was some of the best we have ever had. It was a creamy and savory sauce with tender chunks of tandoori chicken; we ended up dipping our Naan into it repeatedly. The Bhindi masala (okra like you've never had it!) was also extremely good, though not as sauced as others I have had. Everything was incredible: food, service, & ambiance! This is now our #1 Indian restaurant in the Springs!

Sachin D.

Yelp
Too good. Food was awesome. Service and ambience is too good. Wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend

Amy G.

Yelp
Everything we've had has been so good!!! Lots of flavor and the dishes taste the way they are supposed to!! Service is great, always helpful and nice. 100 times better than that place outside the Academy (it was super disappointing).

Erik G.

Yelp
We're constantly on the lookout for new and amazing places to eat, and this spot fits that perfectly! We had the samosas and pani puri for appetizers and both were amazing! For our entree we had the butter chicken and the chicken tikka masala and both dishes were delicious and filling! Last but not least the cocktails (lychee martini and pakwans old fashioned) were balanced and on point. I can't recommend this place enough!! We'll be back!

Lorelen N.

Yelp
Pakwan was such a great experience and def spiced up our visit with their dishes. Customer service, Muhammad, and staff were friendly, helped with recommendations and never did I have to ask for anything. They were on top of it. The restaurant gave a traditional yet modern vibe with a touch of class. Enjoy a meal casually or a date night. Good for solo, small or big groups. I hands down recommend Pakwan! Thanks Pakwan Staff

Dingo S.

Yelp
Good food and decent service! We would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone, come on out!

Eric S.

Yelp
Amazing service with food to match. MAK the waiter was so real and kind. Spice management on what we ordered was perfect. Naan bread (garlic Rosemary and cheese) were thin hot and perfect. I'll be back. Baby Spice. LOL.

Becca L.

Yelp
Good food but the prices are really high for the quality of food you receive. Most times we can get a meal each from an entree and have left overs for lunch the next day. But here that's not the case. The tiny amount of rice you are given with the entree is sad. I realize inflation is hard on everyone but when you're paying $20 plus each, at least add an adequate amount of rice. Too bad because the food is pretty tasty but the prices border on ridiculous.

Inne P.

Yelp
The food was delicious!. We ordered the Afghani chicken, fish saag, and lamb masala with garlic and rosemary naan. The atmosphere is laid back. The service was top notch And the bathroom was clean Definitely coming back!

Jay R.

Yelp
Everything was great. Service, food, tea. Ordered the Saag and curry chicken. Amazing flavors. Only complain is the container given to take home food. Have to specifically ask for a bowl type of container or they will give you standard everything will spill container.

Erik G.

Yelp
Best Indian in the Springs! The grilled paneer is fire! Kheer is incredible and I could eat the Naan by itself

Alejandro M.

Yelp
I've been looking for a regular Indian place and can honestly say I think I found it. Conveniently located at Austin bluffs and academy, I was instantly greeted warmly and asked if I was dining in or ordering to go. I was seated immediately and within 5 mins my drink and appetizer order was in. Looking around, I found a beautiful and charming atmosphere with soft Indian music playing in the background. About 10 minutes afterwards, a large bowl of pakoda arrived. It was delicious, crisp, and great with the plum sauce. I then ordered only a garlic naan as I was getting quite full from the appetizer. That arrived about 10 mins later hot and delicious. Would definitely recommend this place.

Cristina C.

Yelp
Best Indian food that I have ever had. Service was appropriately paced...for some that might be slow but for us it was perfect.

Sara S.

Yelp
I've ordered twice from them since they opened, (take out) and the service and food has been beyond above the other places in town. The owner greeted me at the door with my order when I walked in. The food was absolutely amazing flavor, and quality, homemade sauces, I ordered the biryani which was delicious, large portions, had extra veggies. I got at least two extra meals from the leftovers, which still were full of flavor. The Raita is beyond delicious, I also ordered the Masala and naan. I have tried a lot of other places in town, as I've lived here for ten years, from the east coast, and I highly recommend this restaurant above others in town. I do miss the quality and home made food, back east has to offer, but this is an up and coming place that has the things I miss. A must try! Especially for the springs, which is lacking in any good food other than Mexican and chain restaurants.

Sarah B.

Yelp
I'm pretty picky with Indian food, not because I'm a snob or anything, but because I know what I like and I'm absolutely stuck on Chicken Korma. And their chicken korma definitely the best I've had in years!

Bailey L.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Not only was the staff so friendly but the food was incredible. We ordered the garlic naan, butter chicken (hot), and the chicken Kali Mirch Kebab. I loved everything I tried! It was fast service, clean, and perfect for date night. Will become a regular spot for sure!

Isabelle B.

Yelp
We ordered Vegetarian Paneer Tikka Masala and Dal Makhani, each came with a tub of perfectly fluffy rice, also plain naan. Absolutely delicious. The paneer had a bit of mild heat but such a rich delightful flavor. The Dal Makhani was just irresistible. I might never eat anywhere else ever again, it was that good. The naan was perfect. Did I use the word perfect enough times yet? The vegetarian dishes were carefully labeled, with excellent descriptions, which I very much appreciate.

John R.

Yelp
My wife and I thought we would try a new place for lunch. We were impressed. The food was extremely flavorful and everything was properly prepared. The wait staff were friendly. It has a nice ambiance and the place was spotless. We will definitely go back!

Barry B.

Yelp
Great food! Hard to find great food especially in Colorado Springs. Atmosphere, service and quality of the cuisine is excellent!

Lauren C.

Yelp
Would not recommend at all. This is easily the worst Indian food I've had. I genuinely feel like an Amy's frozen butter chicken would be better than what I ordered. 2 stars because the owner did refund some of our meal when we told him we couldn't eat it. Ordered the saag paneer and lamb masala. Do yourself a favor and Sri Ganesh. Indian food is too expensive to have mediocre food.

William T.

Yelp
Excellent food, excellent service. Highly recommend paneer Tikka masala & the samosa's are the best. Nuff' said

Patricia S.

Yelp
The food was outstanding! A little spicy but awesome! I had the chicken traditional curry and my husband had the lamb vindaloo. Both were fabulous. Not only was the food wonderful but everyone there had a great welcoming personality. It started filling up after we came in for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant is very clean.

Ivanov M.

Yelp
I love this restaurant. Ate here one evening when I had just returned from overseas. Loved the food and service so much that I decided to bring my wife here for a date night. Last night we had our date night while our oldest watched the two younger kids. My wife and I absolutely had a wonderful time. She enjoyed her salad tremendously, and I must say the Tabdoori chicken did NOT disappoint either!! The portions are amazing, and you won't leave hungry. We had leftover salad and tandoori chicken that we brought home to the kids to see how they liked the food. They loved it, and this WILL become a family night spot for us as well as a date night spot for my wife and I. The service is friendly, attentive, and not overbearing like a lot of restaurants. The cocktails are so amazing that, while I never typically have more than one cocktail, I had a second. All in all this restaurant reminded me of food I enjoyed when deployed in India...definitely as authentic as you can get. Simply put...I LOVE this restaurant, and it's going to be a regular for us!!

Sherri L.

Yelp
This place is awesome!!! The service was great and the food..... let me say fantastic. So fantastic I went back the next day and got take out for my family to try. Give it a try!!!!

Brenda P.

Yelp
don't know why this place is so hyped. i couldn't even finish my food because the chicken was undercooked raw in the middle

Krista K.

Yelp
I ordered delivery for 7:30pm. They called me at 10pm asking if I was coming for my food. I drove there in a panic to pick up my food and they were closed. Don't offer delivery if you can't provide that service. And no. I'll be disputing the charges to my account.

Drea K.

Yelp
If you love Urban Tandoor you will definitely love this place. Great atmosphere/vibe and the food is DELICIOUS! Can't wait to try more food here! Highly recommend

Sorina V.

Yelp
Never had Indian Food. But Lord this stuff is off the charts!!! Very elegant, fabulous service, friendly, and clean. I met one of the owners Vicki and he was so informative on the food and help me choose my dish. They won me over.

Raj A.

Yelp
Another great visit. Incredible food -- native Indian here...best Indian food anywhere.

Tom S.

Yelp
One of the best Indian restaurants anywhere and I have ate in dozens of Indian restaurants including in India and London. Everything I have had has been great. Highly recommend!

Ishaan R.

Yelp
Service was prompt, professional, yet friendly. Food was much better than what I can cook at home, so I would come back! Ambiance is industrial and it is spaced out inside.

Ryan P.

Yelp
Incredible food, cozy atmosphere, 5-star cuisine!! The appetizers and entrees had wonderful details, tasting notes, and beautiful presentation. I so enjoyed dinner at Pakwan and have not left a restaurant with that much satisfaction in some time. This place is a must-try gem in COS!!

Cecilia G.

Yelp
Very fresh and spicy food. I never eat spicy hot but dang I couldn't stop eating this delicious lunch. I cooled my tastebuds off with the warm soft Naan and perfect fluffy rice. The atmosphere is serene and quiet - and Very clean. Will return :-)

Maya S.

Yelp
Really great restaurant and staff with authentic Indian cuisine! I am pretty basic; mild butter chicken curry w/ cheese naan is my go-to. It was delicious. Will be back regularly (:

Olivia B.

Yelp
Only got takeout so can't speak for the inside itself but large portions and flavorful Indian food! Would go back to try the restaurant in person. Loved the garlic naan!

Gena K.

Yelp
Best Indian in the Springs, amazing flavor and great service! We look forward to going back.

Melina D.

Yelp
Excellent Indian food! I've been here twice now and both times have been wonderful. Love the authentic flavors! I've had the chicken tikka masala, coconut curry, and lamb biryanis, all were absolutely amazing flavor wise. The samosas are to die for, too! I appreciate how you can choose how spicy you want your dish. Full disclosure: the highest level of spice (hot) is very spicy for anyone not used to spicy food. The service is very good, the waiters are very nice and attentive. It's also great how most of the restaurant is comprised of booths rather than tables, making this a great spot for a more intimate, cozy vibe. Overall, I highly recommend Pakwan!
