Google
Terrific small-town market, we stocked up for our Airbnb here. Lots of local and fresh products, cheese, produce, California wine and beer , and more!

Joel Stains

Google
Their gelato soft server is one of the best I’ve had. It’s fresh, delicious, and I’ll keep coming back whenever we drive by!

Google
When we visit Point Reyes we stop here to get snacks, sandwiches and buffalo milk ice cream. We live this place. The ice cream is DELICIOUS. Very creamy and rich. When we visited in May the deli was closed. A bit disappointed but hope it comes back bigger. Market is also really nice with many choices. They also gave a good selection of wine.

Google
On a weekend ride we stopped at this little market to grab a light lunch. Sandwiches were great. We will be back.

Google
I've tried two different vegetarian bowls prepared by their deli in the back, the Mediterranean, and also the one with sweet potato, and they were excellent. I can also highly recommend the galette in the photo. It's sweet and probably has added sugar, but very tasty. I took it out of its container and warmed it slightly in a microwave.

Google
I love this small market with a great wine and spirits section. Everything in the store is very high-quality. You can find almost anything here. The one bummer was at checkout on Sunday morning, June 1. Totally unfriendly and ungrateful cashier. Who’s in charge of this? Someone needs to work in a different department. And Wow! A “Tinned Fish” section like I have never seen before!

Google
I would assume this is the largest grocery store in all of West Marin if you’re not counting Fairfax as part of West Marin and Palace Market indeed has just about everything you could want from a major super market, lots of well known brands but plenty of smaller local and independent brands. And of course the delicious soft serve ice cream, soup and sandwiches made to order in the back! Very kind and helpful staff

Missy Herguth

Google
Nice local grocery store. Pretty much the only one in the area. A bit pricey but that isn't really unexpected for this location. They had everything we needed. The sandwiches are good 😊. I hear they have amazing buffalo milk ice cream but we haven't tried it yet.

Yelp
Have you ever seen someone stopping the car just for soft serve cone? I have a lot of childhood memories with soft serve swirl cones. When driving back to SFO after visiting Point Reyes station, I've noticed a lot of people walking out with soft serve cones. I immediately parked the car and checked out this place. I haven't spent a lot of time to see what's really going inside palace market because I was very much on the mission to gulping down this cone. Lol. Aisles looked like a grocery store, but if you go to extreme end of store you can order coffee/ice cream/sandwich etc., I ended up getting a chocolate cone and a chocolate-vanilla cone. It was thick, creamy and delicious.

Yelp
I go here on a very, very regular basis and they've recently put a self-serve kiosk with a screen at the back... the coffee is delicious and reasonably priced and that is something I appreciate so very much I really really really do. I want them to make the screen say coffee because it only says espresso and then you have to find the drip regular coffee (which simply offends my sense of organization, ). I also object the fact that you cannot pay in cash (if you're an adult) for an ice cream. Honestly honestly its political cash really has to be preserved. I practically live at this place so I must adore it!

Yelp
This is a great market. It's well curated, with so many beautiful items. I wanted to buy all the things and all the food. Head towards the back of the market and try the soft serve. It's a buffalo milk gelato and it's just delicious.

Yelp
Had a beach day at North Beach and we were craving some post beach sweetness and this market popped up! It was a super cute market, looks like they had everything you'll need but we went straight to get their soft serve ice cream! It was so goood and creamy! I actually got the affogato and oh my lord. . . best affogato ever! The espresso wasn't bitter and the soft serve just goes so well with it! They came out lesst than five minutes after ordering! 10/10! Someone will have to tell me if they've tried the clam chowder there!

Yelp
Everything at Point Reyes Station was closed since it was past 5pm and we were really craving a sweet treat before we headed back home. We saw people leaving the store with ice cream and decided to go check it out. What a perfect idea! They have soft serve ice cream in a cup or cone, and chocolate or vanilla or swirl flavors! You can also add free sprinkles on top! It looks small but it's a very generous amount and was so delicious and creamy, so perfect. The staff were also really friendly and sweet and brought them out quickly even though it was quite crowded! The market itself is huge and has lots of things to browse besides just groceries. Staff there are also super friendly! Very nice little store!

Yelp
The buffalo milk soft serve gelato is easily the best soft serve I've ever had. Definitely worth a stop.
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
This place is quite literally a palace! It's a spendy gourmet food market sure, but the selection here is impeccable. We even found cheeses were less expensive here than at the cheese makers and farms we visited (we did our price comparison same day.) A very nice selection of produce, local flowers, cheese and meats, an international selection of canned fish and dry pasta, a good wine and respectable liquor section, bath and body items, and even local water buffalo soft serve is on offer here. An all around a nice option should you need to shop for fancy groceries on the coast!
google avatar

Kevin G.

Yelp
The store is nice and the deli is clean. Their sandwiches are just okay. I'd give it a 3 star.
google avatar

Yelp
Palace Market I had the water buffalo gelato swirl in a cup (5), and it was absolutely amazing. The texture was velvety smooth, and the flavor was rich without being too heavy. It was my first time trying gelato made from water buffalo milk, and it completely blew me away! Definitely one of the better gelatos I've had! Wonder what else is out there
google avatar

Ngoc My H.

Yelp
This is a quaint little market with plenty of cheese, wine, and essentials in the heart of Point Reyes Station. The star here is water buffalo gelato soft serve! The soft serve is AMAZINGLY SMOOTH AND RICH! It's like biting into a creamy cloud. I recommend getting the swirl which is vanilla and chocolate on the cone!
google avatar

Yelp
I enjoy exploring the local market when visiting a small town. Pricey for what I'm used to, but it was fun to go up & down the aisle. Clean & easy to navigate. In their deli area they sell water buffalo soft serve ice cream in vanilla and chocolate.
google avatar

Kay O.

Yelp
This was my first time ever seeing this particular marketplace, and it was rather cute and local with all its little pop-ups of local vendors!! I'm always a fan of buying from mom and pop shops, so the fact that this particular marketplace had a number of local vendors made me feel quite locally comfortable! I have a number of food, allergies, and I rather eat gluten-free, then feel overly indulged with wheat and this particular grocery store had a number of gluten-free and allergy, friendly items and local vendors that supported all of our food allergies. I also love the fact they had a deli and espresso bar , their own checkout system!! The store was honestly so cute my in-laws and I walked up and down each aisle just to see what they had!!!M I will definitely go back!!

Yelp
Back again for the buffalo soft serve and it was great. They did move the machine to the back of the store in the deli section and you order via a tablet now. But the folks were very friendly and we got our ice cream quickly.

Yelp
A cool place to get some groceries and sandwiches. Day trip in the area for some r&r and saw this place. I needed drinks to bring with and a sandwich. Not cheap but they have a variety of specialty products. The sandwich I got was premade but it wasn't bad at all. Service at the register was great. This place is a good spot in the area.
google avatar

Mona L.

Yelp
I'm really happy we found this grocery store that has a deli in the back. The vegetarian sandwich was delicious and a good portion. The soft serve was amazing and the sprinkles are free! Also, the grocery store has a lot of organic and healthy options. They were friendly, but there's not much seating so you have to find a place to sit down and eat your food

Yelp
Went to this place after hiking visiting Point Reyes Lighthouse. Was looking for a quick bite when I saw this roasted chicken. Why is it so expensive???? I saw roasted chicken from Costco for $4.99, the most expensive I've seen was about $8.99 from another store in the Bay Area. I could not believe when I saw this price. Is this really an organic free range chicken where it is roaming around in a big farmland?? I did not end up buying this, for those who did, I hope it really tasted good and it was worth the price.
google avatar

Tommy C.

Yelp
Great affordable sandwiches. I like their made to order sandwiches. Easy to use kiosk. Definitely recommended.
google avatar

Helen V.

Yelp
The ice cream was super creamy and delicious. For $3, this was a good amount of ice they gave. The store is filled with different things to look at and was fun to explore.

Yelp
I just love this store !!! I always seek it out out the way up the cost from Southern California . Love the wide variety of cheeses and salami! Great service and friendly & knowledgeable people . We will return .

Yelp
I have visited the Palace Market several times in the past week and was impressed by the general high quality, as would be expected in West Marin. However the sky-high prices kept my purchases to a minimum. A bottle of wine STARTS at $22, and the dry goods are at least double the price found in Novato or Petaluma. And the checker with the three-tone hair and TEN facial piercings certainly deflated my appetite. Personal appearance aside, she was rude to me and several other customers. Management needs to wake up and direct this woman to stocking shelves, not shocking customers.
google avatar

Jackie R.

Yelp
Got 2 breakfast burritos only choice was vegetarian and chorizo got 1 of each. Chorizo was disappointing greasy and the veggie one had way too much black beans. The eggs had no flavor was like eating powder eggs.
google avatar

Madhuri K.

Yelp
Only had chocolate buffalo ice cream today but better prices than other areas. They seem to have higher quality options.
google avatar

Olivia L.

Yelp
Came for one thing and one thing only. Buffalo milk soft serve. Honestly couldn't tell the difference between milk choices but it's a really creamy and rich soft serve! Should try if you're in the area. Probably better than most ice cream shops nearby.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing! Best soft serve in the world. The preprepared ruben was amazing. High quality ingredients all around. Lovely service. Very nice interior. Cute town.

Yelp
I've found the hidden gem of Point Reyes Station: BUFFALO MILK SOFT SERVE. A single lick blew my mind - Surprisingly thick, creamy, and rich. It beats any other cow-based soft serve I've ever had! Flavors included vanilla, chocolate, and strawberries & cream. I wish buffalo milk soft serve was more common everywhere!! It's a unique sweet treat that will shock you and 100% leave you satisfied, yet wanting more! How to find the buffalo milk soft serve: Visit Palace Market. Request and pay at the front registers. Take the receipt to the back where the meats are located. Give the receipt to the worker and nab the goody! Palace Market is a bright and busy grocery store with super friendly staff. The only turnoff was the lack of hygiene. Our sick cashier kept wiping her runny nose and handled transactions without gloves or mask. The worker in the back at the deli and soft serve machine handled food with her bare hands. Note that the ice cream cones don't have a paper wrap, so maybe consider the cup over the cone.

Yelp
If you are picnicking or hiking in the Pt Reyes and Tomales Bay Area, Palace Market is the place to stop and pick up goodies for your venture.. since cowgirl creamery closed its retail store, the Palace market is your one stop shop. Upon entering you will realize the local grocery is super friendly and that Whole Foods and Trader Joe's would die to to feel this organic and homespun. You will pass by the organic greens, and the healthy matchas, dog treats and fuel drinks all the way to the back to the deli for some pre-made sandwiches. The Highway 1 Hammy is my favorite with Brie and Apples and Ham. Also picked up some homemade bread and Toma cheese for some sandwiches during the week. Of course the thing you can't miss is their Buffalo Milk Gelato. get a swirl in a cup from the back deli counter. It doesn't melt as fast as normal soft serve so you can easily enjoy it and savor the pace of this wonderful community.
google avatar

Dawn L.

Yelp
Really clean and has everything you could possibly wish for on a day or night! I love this place! Very robust selection of fruits and vegetables! The staff is nice and some of them are country loud, which I love!!!
google avatar

Yelp
5/5 Buffalo Milk Ice Cream So creamy and unlike any other milk based ice cream I've ever had. Reminds me of ice cream from Japan! If I'm ever back in the area I will stop again 5/5 Service Ladies in the deli counter were so friendly and accommodating. We needed to heat up some milk we just bought from the store and they were kind enough to do so.

Yelp
Super fun market with all kinds of interesting items! Go to the back of the store for the buffalo soft serve which is so delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
We stopped in this cute supermarket for their buffalo milk soft serve, and it was the perfect treat to cap off our lunch over at Side Street Kitchen. The buffalo milk soft serve is served at the back of the supermarket at the deli, but you order it at the front of the supermarket at one of the checkout counters. You can choose between a small or large and a cup or cone, and we went for a large cup for less mess. Once we got our receipt from the checkout counter, we went to the deli and waited patiently for someone to get us our soft serve. The only flavors they have are vanilla and chocolate, so we decided to go for the swirl (vanilla + chocolate). The soft serve itself was delicious and very creamy, and I definitely liked the vanilla a bit more than the chocolate. You get a lot of bang for your buck here in terms of the quantity of soft serve, and we realized that we should have just ordered a small to share. Nonetheless, a delectable dessert and great to try if you're in the area!

Yelp
This review is for their buffalo soft serve! I love soft serve and I was very intrigued by buffalo milk. It was perfect after a wonderful day at point reyes national seashore. The soft serve is so creamy! They have vanilla, chocolate and swirl flavors. You pay at the front cashier first and bring your receipt to the back butchery.

Yelp
Tried Buffalo soft serve ice cream with Olive oil and sea salt !! Was the best ice cream I ever tasted .. Also tried affogato which was mind blowing
google avatar

Evon T.

Yelp
Cute little market in Point Reyes. Their soft serve ice cream was great, very simple flavors but the buffalo milk made amazing ice cream. It was very creamy, not too sweet. Vanilla is my favorite, I ended up getting 2nd cup of ice cream Good price $4.5/small cup Service was fast and friendly. Absolutely a must try when you're around the area
google avatar

Joey W.

Yelp
Walked by and saw the sign for Buffalo Milk Gelato. You have to order it at the front and then go to the deli to pick it up which wasn't clear until you get to the deli. I got a small cup of vanilla Buffalo Milk Gelato ($4.50). It was very rich and creamy. It had the consistency of soft serve so surprised it's gelato. I also was expecting the buffalo milk to come through more but it was extremely subtle. At $4.50, I'd come back for it again.

Yelp
I lived in West marin for three years and this was the market I went to. I love the fact that they had a lot of quality ingredients with a lot of local foods featured. Weekends can be busy and point race station with tourist stopping by on their way to Tomales bay. I no longer live in West Marin but I still try to visit this market whenever I am in the area and if you didn't know, be sure to get a scoop of buffalo milk ice cream
google avatar

Carolyn P.

Yelp
Grocery store with an amazing deli and buffalo milk soft serve machine! This store can get pretty crowded so be prepared to navigate through crowds of people. You can get prepared sandwiches at the deli or create your own on a piece of paper. For $10, the sandwich was filling and delicious. They also made it within 5-10min. In the same area is the buffalo milk soft serve. It is the creamiest soft serve I've ever had! You need to order your soft serve at the check out line and come back to the deli and show your receipt. They have cake cones, waffle cones or cups. Overall this store has unique items - similar to a Whole Foods, but the locals say it's better. Would love to come back for more soft serve!

Stephen C.

Yelp
Love this place. Amazing service and healthy selections! One of my favorite places to visit and purchase great food for snacks and to take home.
google avatar

Randy M.

Yelp
Premium grocery store. I stumbled across its buffalo milk soft serve. I opted for the small swirl (chocolate/vanilla) cone for $3.50. Pay at the register first, then show your receipt at the cheese deli counter. Very tasty. The store clerk says that it's from a local dairy, and this soft serve has less lactose.
google avatar

Howard B.

Yelp
This little market in point Reyes is charming and has all of the things you might need to fulfill your culinary needs while visiting this lovely area. The local cheese selection is stellar, the wines are a bit pricey but there are many local wines to choose from. The butcher section is amazing with many select choices of beef, pork, poultry and seafood - including local oysters. If you find yourself walking around point Reyes station, wander into the palace market and look around - you will be glad you did.
google avatar

Nadia I.

Yelp
My review is completely based on the Buffalo soft serve. Yes, this market has a lot of lovely cheeses and jams and other local items but the Buffalo soft serve is to die for. Please do yourself a favor and get some ASAP. Only once have I driven this far just for the soft serve and the machine was down, now I call ahead just in case. Every other time it has been a dream come true. You must pay for the soft serve in advance and present the receipt at the deli to get your soft serve. It's super easy to pay at the self checkout if the other lines are long, instructions and the "produce code" for the soft serve are posted next to the self check out register. Yesterday they had Salted Carmel and Vanilla, I recommend getting the swirl so you can have both!!
google avatar

Max B.

Yelp
This is a fun place with just about everything someone vacationing (as we were) and cooking their own food might want. I'm not sure this is what I'd call an 'everyday' supermarket but that's part of what makes this place special. We found everything the four of us wanted for a special meal. And extras too. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
google avatar

Aileen M.

Yelp
*Covid-19 review* Speciality grocery store at Point Reyes Station with a deli in the back and aisles filled with ... surprise: specialty items that are expectedly higher priced. It was nice to see such a good variety of items and I did purchase a fancy jar of jam. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, only one member of the family was permitted to be inside. While they didn't have anyone at the door enforcing the policy, I found it be a bit much as there were well over 15 people crowded at the deli - which was counter-productive to the policy against families entering. It wasn't my cup of tea but more power to those who like the policy.
google avatar

Leah S.

Yelp
Buffalo milk soft serve. Oh my gosh yes. Seriously, what else do you even need to know about?!? Well, since I'm here, I'll tell you the whole scoop: Awesome. Yes, they are pricey, but hey, it's point reyes. Essentially everything has to be shipped in, so you're going to end up feeling that in the prices. That said, they have a ton of specialty grocery items, and a gourmet home chef could get lost in here. We did have some conflict with their covid precautions- now I'm definitely in support of limiting number and ensuring wearing masks and using sanitizer, but they wouldn't let anyone with more than one person in their party enter. Only one spokesperson from any family, couple, or group. Well what are you going to do, just not have buffalo milk soft serve?!? I think not. We decided to comply. The soft serve was a decadent dream of a bowl of awesomeness, and was worth every calorie and every penny. I thought for sure the chocolate was king but hubby valiantly defended his luscious cloud of vanilla as the reigning champion, so I guess we both win! I will definitely be back when I'm in the area even for the extra precautions and higher than otherwise prices.

Yelp
On the way to Point Reyes Lighthouse and stopped by this little market to pick up some sandwiches, drinks and snacks. They have a little bit of everything from pre-made foods, sandwich counter, dairy, dried goods, bakery, etc. It's clean and easy to navigate. I purchased 2 sandwiches, orange creme sodas, chip and Cici lemon cookies! Great for our adventure on the coast. The only thing this market doesn't have is a restroom for it's customers. I ended up going across the street to the public restroom in the park. So a restroom would be nice. :) Parking can get crowded esp around 11am when I arrived.

Yelp
This place is salvation for the unwary who stay in the area without making dinner reservations. We made the mistake of relying on the Yelp-posted hours for an unclaimed restaurant in a rural area (bad idea). The restaurants that were actually open didn't have outdoor seating, so we bought little heat-and-eat dinners from the deli (our hotel room had an oven). The enchiladas and ravioli were merely good. The brisket and polenta was the best brisket I have ever tasted, and I'm regretting not buying a couple on our way out of town. So rich and succulent, but the meat still dominates the BBQ flavor. Truly astounding. The store also had a gourmet selection of basically everything else, and is open until 9 pm, a life-saver in a remote area where even the pizza joint stops at 7.

Yelp
This review is strictly for the soft serve found inside this market: Have you heard of soft serve made from Buffalo milk?! Because I have never until a good friend of mine recommended it to me. So of course, I had to try it! First, they only have vanilla and chocolate. You have a choice of either one or a mix of both. Second, they offer small and large. Third, you order at the cash register up front and show the meat department (yes it's located in the meat area lol) your receipt, then boom... tell them your flavors, and you'll soft serve will be served! I ordered a large thinking my boyf would enjoy it as much as me but that wasn't the case; which was okay- more for me! Well, the large soft serve was actually bigger than I expected! Due to COVID rules, no tasting flavors and no more cones. They really fill up your cup! Then cover it with a lid. I know the meat area may have sounded a bit ehhh but don't worry, everything was clean and your soft serve will not taste like meat. The soft serve was super soft, super creamy!!!! I felt like I was eating a cloud! You can definitely taste the difference from this and your usual soft serve. It's way softer but hold the same consistency as ice cream/ typical soft serve. At first, I didn't taste the vanilla but after a few bites of just vanilla- wow! Tasted sweet! Loved it more than the chocolate tbh. Overall, whenever I'm in the Point Reyes area and craving a dessert, I am for sure coming back for more Buffalo milk soft serve! Be adventurous with your taste buds and try it out!
google avatar

Bernadette Y.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place while driving up the coast and although I didn't partake in their very popular soft serve, it looked tasty. I was looking for a decently priced snack, and had their deli wings. They turned out to be pretty good and the guy at the cashier wished me a great day, and rest of the year, which I thought was kind of him. Also had a chocolate chip cookie which was delicious.
google avatar

Shivani B.

Yelp
4.5* This market is absolutely amazing. You can buy groceries/snacks etc in the front side and they have everything you could need! The store has a food section at the back where you can get a hot sandwich made or get a pre-made one to go! Always delicious ans fresh, I tend to usually get the tuna or egg salad. Before covid you could get any sandwich combo ( meat, veggie, etc) made by choice with breads, topping etc of your liking. Cant wait for that to be back! We usually drive up to Point Reyes station and always stop at this place to get snacks and drinks before we make our way to the beach. This place is located at the heart of the main street and I highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
I still stop by for their hidden posole in my original review. If you haven't tried it yet, you're missing out. I'm here to also add their CLAM CHOWDER to the list! Great balance of not too thick and not too watery. Ratio of clams to diced potatoes are spot on. Seasoned well and again, great on a cold day or anytime actually. Add a piece of French bread and you're set!
