We visited the Palace of Parliament in Romania and booked our tickets in advance online with an English speaking guide. We were very happy with the whole experience from start to finish. The guided tour lasted around one hour, and our guide was excellent. She explained the history of the building and described each room in detail, covering both the architectural design and the historical significance. The building itself is absolutely stunning and incredibly beautiful.
A few important things to know before visiting: this is still an active political building, so there are strict rules that must be followed, especially regarding what you can and cannot photograph or film. You must bring your passport for entry, and you cannot visit without a guide, it’s not possible to walk around on your own.
Security is similar to airport security, so any liquids over 100ml will be confiscated. Don’t bother bringing water, as you will have to throw it away. There are vending machines inside where you can buy water or coffee if needed.
Also, keep in mind there is a lot of walking and quite a few stairs, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared.
Overall, it’s absolutely worth it!
