No Arizona day trip list is complete without a stroll along Prescott’s storied Whiskey Row, home to a collection of lively, independently owned saloons, galleries, and boutiques set in preserved 19th-century buildings. Fodor’s Travel and local outlets like Phoenix New Times consistently recommend this spot for its mix of Old West charm and modern creativity. Don’t miss Matt’s Saloon and the Palace Restaurant & Saloon—both locally run icons dating back to the late 1800s. Live music, friendly locals, and a welcoming atmosphere make this downtown strip an engaging stop for history buffs and casual wanderers alike.

It's like an anchor establishment on whiskey row. The dining room has been beautifully restored, and houses a great deal of interesting memorabilia. There are numerous dining areas including a large outdoor space for live music, presumably. Our food came out quickly and hot! The Gila grilled chicken salad was generously covered with chicken, onion, tomato, croutons and cheese. Bunkhouse beans were loaded with bacon, cheese and pico. Our fish was perfectly cooked, crispy, flavorful, and non fishy, they're accompanied by fries which I wouldn't have minded subbing if any were available. The restrooms are clean and modern. We'll definitely go back when we're in the area.

Fun atmosphere with good food. We all had the beast burgers and one was a bit overcooked (well instead of medium) but tasty. The old fashioned was great. The service was extremely fast.

Walked in thinking we'd have a beer and check the tourist box for visiting the oldest bar in Arizona. WOW, were we wrong. We had some very tasty food (brussel sprouts and pulled pork sandwich). Plus, the service was amazing. Kudos to the entire service team, but especially to Nick! Looking forward to our next visit!

I had lunch with my son and hubby at The Palace, which I found while walking around Whiskey Row in Prescott. It was a historic building, and the interior was like a museum. Each server wears a costume and good service. We sat at the back table, and I looked around the exhibits in the palace. We ordered Ponderosa prime dip w onion rings, half sandwich and soup combo, and Caballero chicken. 2 glass of palace red beers. All foods are good taste and like palace red beers. I recommend this place when you visit Prescott.

The food was not that great. It was hit or miss depending on what you order. My wife's filet mignon was ordered medium well it was quite pink when it came back and the taste was not what you'd expect. Her Caesar salad and the beans that came with my Caballero Chicken were overly salted. The complimentary bread that came with the meal was hard. On the good side my chicken and wild rice was very tasty and delicious. We heard so much about the Pakace Saloon that we wanted to eat a good meal here. There are better options in town. Best to eat elsewhere and come to the Pakace for drinks and tour the place. Service from hostess and waitresses was excellent.

Stopped by to grab a drink at this historic bar in Prescott. You have to experience this ambiance if you love history and old bars. Reconstructed in1901, it houses the 4 part carved bar, old ice box and safe where the pit master oversaw the gambling tables. Bartender, Nick and the sheriff were ready with drinks and history. An experience of its own not to be missed.

A must-visit if you’re in Prescott. Large, historic, entertaining, FUN. Wait staff is humorously dressed in late 1800s garb. Maitre’d is dressed in an 1800s sheriff costume replete with a Colt 45 and ammo belt. Ice cold beers. Excellent small plates if you’re there as we were in between lunch and dinner and only looking for a small bite. Great prices.

I love taking my visitors to Prescott and popping into The Palace for a bite to eat. Always a fun time! My friend enjoyed her fried chicken sandwich, the other friend her French dip and I had the Reuben. The staff dress in period clothing so that makes it a cool little visit as well.
