Palais Faraj Suite & Spa (Morocco, ) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Set on a hillside above and overlooking the medina, Palais Faraj is no ordinary hotel — the word “palais” here is not aspirational but frankly descriptive. Built in the 19th century, during the period when Fes was Morocco’s capital, Bensouda Palace was the hub of a network of riads belonging to a prominent local family. Now, under its new name, Palais Faraj has been transformed by its new owners into one of the city’s most luxurious lodgings." - Tablet Hotels

Palais Faraj Suites | Best places to stay in Fes

"Built in the early 20th century, this glorious bourgeoisie palace is a cultural, historic and architectural gem. Decorated throughout in traditional Moorish style with zelliges (mosaics), zouaks (paintings on wood) and stuccos, it’s a showcase of Morocco’s famed artisan craftsmanship. Berber carpets and old photos of Fez’s medina evoke an atmosphere of authentic Arab-Andalusian tradition. " - Matthew Roach

We had a truly unforgettable stay at Palais Faraj! From the moment we arrived, Madiha and Oumnia gave us the warmest welcome. Their kindness and professionalism stood out. they were always available, attentive, and very helpful with anything we needed, even until the day we checked out.|Our room was absolutely beautiful . spacious, clean, and full of charm, with a stunning view over the Medina. Every detail was thoughtfully prepared, making our stay extra comfortable.|The restaurant was also a highlight. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the service was impeccable. We especially enjoyed the Moroccan dishes . full of flavor and prepared with care.|Thank you again to the entire team, especially Madiha and Oumnia, for making our experience so special. We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend Palais Faraj to anyone visiting Fez

Absolutely amazing, truly a masterpiece! Honestly, without exaggeration, this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. We booked a standard room and they upgraded us to a luxury suite. The hotel itself feels like a museum — you could spend half a day just enjoying and admiring all the beautiful details. This is the kind of hotel I wouldn’t mind paying $1000 a night for. The staff are super friendly, awesome, and everything about the place is just great. The only issue is that they should improve the service of the dark-skinned waitress in the restaurant

A storied hotel with historic decor and beautiful common areas, almost museum like, located high with lovely views. My room on an upper floor on the central courtyard had a bedroom, sitting room and 1.5 baths. I’m a 6’6” and found the rooms to be cramped and was often ducking for chandeliers and doorways, claustrophobia inducing at times. The furnishing was old and tired and the rooms need an upgrade to match the common areas. The restaurant was okay and the breakfast average.

I was here back in 2024 and we had a terrible experience. We booked a tour guide through the hotel, and the guy turned out to be a scammer. He took us through winding streets of fes theough alleyways and back doors, evebtually taking us through a dark tunnel to a carpet place. There they took is to the roof, gave us damn TEA and we got swept up in an apparently typical carpet scam, where they throw carpets down saying, you like this rug? and you get confused, all the while they ask you if you want "tea? Tea?? TEA???" And we ended up with like 9 rugs... 9 rugs??? Wth am I supposed to do with nin rugs for a 2 bedroom apartment? He then took us through more alleyways, likely to get us confused as to the location of the rug place, we took an "uber" at my expense (it wasnt an uber) to, let me remind you, hotel sanctioned tour guide's, favorite restaurant and paid for his food Well I dont get lost easy. The next day I figured out the location of the carpet place, and barged into the store and was able to get a refund This all with the assistance of this hotel, maybe they should check who their allowong as guides, unless the hotel takes a cut of the scam Room was inward facing, and was dark as a result. Restaurant at the roof was good woth a beautiful view of the old city and staff there were friendlu, food was good. But no Im never coming back again and dont advise others to do so either. And now I hate Tea!

Stunning property right outside the Medina. It looks and feels like an old castle. We stayed in the Ambassador Suite which had a living room, two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The pool area is very clean and the water temperature was just right. Their food is top-notch. Highly recommend if you are visiting Fes.

We were excited to try this as was highly recommended. Upon check in, was shown several rooms. The room set up is awkwardly configured. Small tv only in living room and not in bedroom. ||No service by pool. Had to call if we needed anything. Spa was under renovation and wasn’t told this before we booked. ||Breakfast was decent but fruit wasn’t replaced. Service was fair. ||Beware that they do allow smoking inside the bar area. ||They were good with booking restaurants and getting us a guide and driver for the day. ||We wouldn’t stay here again as it isn’t luxury.

Based on its trip advisor we walked to this hotel, it was late morning and we intended to have coffee, drinks and maybe an early lunch. We arrived in blazing sun and were met by a rude, unprofessional and unpleasant security guard who simply told us that we were unwelcome unless we had a reservation. Two reasonably well dressed tourists. Avoid !!
