It’s one of my favourite places in Paris. Mission Impossible was filmed here, Emily in Paris, many other popular movies as well. It has very nice atmosphere and architecture. I really enjoy being here while drinking a cup of coffee or reading a book.

One of my favorite places in Paris! Located right in the center of the city, the Palais Royal Garden is a peaceful and beautifully maintained spot. Surrounded by charming arcades and elegant boutiques like Gerelley. It is perfect for a relaxing walk or quiet break. A must-visit to truly experience the beauty and atmosphere of Paris.

Google
This place is truly extraordinary – it’s a must-visit. Everywhere you look, there are stunning flowers in full bloom, and I couldn’t help but spend ages admiring their beauty. The vibrant colors and fragrance made the experience even more magical.

Google
Such stunning gardens, funnily enough peaceful even though in the centre of Paris. I love to enjoy a stroll and a coffee by the fountain on a sunny day! I wish we had more of these in Paris

Google
Beautiful, cozy park in the heart of Paris. Feels very secluded, away from busy streets and it’s a nice place to rest and enjoy both garden feels and Parisian architecture. I advise to avoid lunch time as everyone goes there at this time and it gets very crowded with no place to sit. It’s right next to Colonnes de Buren, which is a fantastic installation, definitely worth checking out when in Paris!

Google
What a glorious place to spend a sunny afternoon people watching and wandering along the colonnades and through the gardens of this wonderful space. There are some very informative signs explaining how this was originally a cardinals palace and how it evolved. The contemporary columns and spheres fountains are juxtaposed against the ornate stonework and sit well with it. A popular place in Paris and rightly so.

Google
A quaint little garden/park in Paris. Takes about 5-10 minutes to walk around the park. Plenty of shade and the walk around the park can be done mostly in the shade. Plenty of benches and chairs to sit on and relax. A few statues and a fountain to visit as well.

Nestled in the heart of Paris, just a short walk from the Louvre, the Jardin du Palais Royal is a serene escape from the city's bustling streets. This elegant garden, enclosed within the historic Palais Royal complex, offers a perfect blend of nature, art, and history. Unlike the crowded Tuileries or Luxembourg Gardens, Jardin du Palais Royal remains a quiet retreat. Whether you're admiring the architecture, relaxing on a bench, or exploring the nearby Comédie-Française theater, this hidden gem offers a taste of Parisian elegance.

Yelp

Yelp
It's funny because we had stumbled across this place just walking around. Super nice to pass the day or share some pastries with friends/family. Lovely gardens and plenty of space to explore. Nice fountains to check out too with chairs around to sit and people watch. Photo opportunities are a plenty. Daniel Buren's striped columns are especially popular. Varying in size, people can climb on top and take photos. Just be careful and try not to lose balance!

Yelp
It's just impossible to see everything and unfortunately, this lovely place was seen only as a nighttime walk by! Another vast connected network of massive gardens, benches, bochee ball courts,tree-lined paths, etc. As I walked through a lot of these magnificent places I could see why Paris in the Spring is such a "Thing". It must be magnificent strolling through here when the temperature is perfect and everything blooming. I get the same feeling as when I walk through Central Park in NYC. Alone and peaceful if you want it or walk a short distance and boom, Civilization. I hope to explore these great parks in-depth when I return.

Yelp
If you have some time after visiting the Louvre, this is a great spot to visit. It's smaller than the Tuileries Garden but has chairs and a fountain you can relax next to and read a book. It's free to visit which is a plus!

Yelp
Les Jardins du Palais Royal is located beside/walking distance from the Louvre museum. It is a beautiful park but of course not as grand as the Tuileries Garden. It is no doubt a great place to sit and relax There are plenty of chairs around the fountains. It is connected to the Palais Royal open square.

Yelp
I stumbled on the garden when leaving the Louvre. Perfectly lined center with trees. Funky public art. Perfect for a selfie or a full on photo shoot -- I saw two while I was there....1 couple felt like a wedding announcement and the other seemed for Parisian fashion model. A group of men played Bocce ball or the Parisian equivalent. It was a gray day and the trees were bald but it's a nice place to walk around, have a seat or just kill some time.

Yelp
The Palais-Royal is a former royal palace located in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, France. The screened entrance court faces the Place du Palais-Royal, opposite the Louvre. Originally called the Palais-Cardinal, it was built for Cardinal Richelieu from about 1633 to 1639 by the architect Jacques Lemercier. Richelieu bequeathed it to Louis XIII, and Louis XIV gave it to his younger brother, Philippe I, Duke of Orléans. Philippe and the succeeding dukes of Orléans made such extensive alterations over the years, almost nothing remains of Lemercier's original design. The Palais-Royal now serves as the seat of the Ministry of Culture, the Conseil d'État and the Constitutional Council. The central Palais-Royal Garden (Jardin du Palais-Royal) serves as a public park, and the arcade houses shops.

Yelp
Grab a delicious almond croissant or a ham sandwich from a patisserie or boulangerie nearby and head over here at the Les Jardins du Palais Royal. Sit in one of the benches under the arcade of trees and start enjoying your meal. Have wine with you? No problem. Just make sure you have wine glasses with you. You don't really need to have a garden of your own in Paris when you have gardens like this everywhere in Paris. There are lots of benches and chairs around in these parks to park yourself and get comfortable. If you're not up for a picnic, how about lunch at one of cafés in the galleries surrounding the gardens? There are also full service cafés here with a view of the garden that serve food and wine. And if you'd rather shop than eat, there are also high end boutiques selling clothes, jewelry, perfumes, skin care items, shoes, and etc.... We were on our way to lunch at Le Grand Colbert just outside this park on rue Vivienne, so we explored this garden before heading to lunch. We sat down after taking pictures and watched elegantly as well as casually dressed Parisians walk briskly through the park. If you're in this area of Paris, and need a quiet place to rest your feet, this park is a perfect stop!

Yelp
One of many beautiful gardens in the heart of Paris. We walked through on our way to the Musee d'Orsay. The trees hadn't bloomed yet but I think I prefer them this way. The huge fountain in the middle has chairs surrounding it, so we took a moment to sit with our coffees and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Yelp
One of the nicest gardens in Paris or anywhere. It's cloistered and secluded, never crowded and surrounded by the most wonderful shops, galleries and small eateries. I go here every time I visit.

Yelp
Les Jardins du Palais Royal (I feel so french typing that) is a beautifully hidden gem in the city of love. Paris has many (and I do mean many) well-known landmarks and historic sites. Les Jardins requires a bit of research for the average American tourist, and is definitely worth it. After a whirlwind trip at the Louvre I decided to finally see Les Jardins. It was truly beautiful. With the combination of the outdoor theater and the expertly maintained grounds this is a must see while in Paris.

Yelp
So beautiful and so relaxing. Huge garden with little boats for the kids to play in the pond with. So many fountains and statues.

Yelp
Great spot to walk around, enjoy the weather and enjoy the architecture. I would recommend getting some deserts and a coffee and relaxing by the water fountain.

Yelp
You can spend an entire day here and not see every garden and enjoy the awesome benches under the trees here. Phenomenal walk from The Louvre towards the Pont Alexander III Bridge. Start off early at The Louvre. Spend the afternoon in the Park, enjoy a picnic, or two, it's that big. Theres even several open air restaurants if you're packing light. Then, spen the afternoon stroll at Pont Alexander III Bridge. Finished off with a nice stroll towards The Eiffel Tower in time to see the Lights sparkle at the bottom of the hour. Tada....... Perfect day spent in Paris.

Yelp
Small rectangle if green alongside if Louvre is an oasis of serenity and beauty in design. I do not know what I love the most - the shadow of perfectly trimmed trees in side alleys, perfectly straight in geometrical lines, or the modern sculptures and designs scattered around the park, or fountain and little chairs.. Or the calm of all the above. Truth be told, I love all of it... It was (and still is) my favorite place in City of Lights to walk and listen to the wind playing with leaves, to collect my thoughts after hectic day and to exhale. Just a note: café on the corner of the park near Louvre serves divine croissants.

Yelp
The Stories We Could Tell The park itself is beautiful, but the stories about what happened here are most exciting. I leave it to the reader to learn more...

Yelp
The first sunny days of late winter/early spring are a life send to all Parisians. Just one afternoon of brilliant sun is paypack for the seemingly endless gray, wet and cold of the previous months. While there are many places to take in some much-needed vitamin D around town, as soon as the sun peaks out I head for the Palais Royal gardens. Surrounded by buildings on all four sides, the park is hidden from view. Once you walk inside, it's as if your eyes have been dipped in golden gorgeousness. The light in the park is particularly amazing, and there are many places to enjoy it. You can either pull up a chair around the central fountain and sit there reading for hours; snag a seat on one of the many shaded benches; hang out in one of the kiddie areas and watch the impeccably dressed Parisian tots play; or just sit against one of the walls along the perimeter of the park to take the whole scene in. While there are many restaurants surrounding the garden, it's best to bring in lunch and set up an impromptu picnic (I especially recommend grabbing a take-away bento from Juji-ya http://www.yelp.fr/biz/juji-ya-paris). And if you've got a little money to burn, there are dozens of fab shops under the covered walkways making the Palais Royale a one-stop-five-star experience.

Yelp
This is absolutely my favorite place on earth. Nothing makes me happier than that gravel crunching under my feet as I hurry over to nab one of those outrageously comfortable green metal chairs. Once I've got the chair, all that's left to do is sit back, crack the spine on my book or notebook, and then completely ignore it in favor of soaking in all that symmetry, harmony, and people watching. Do yourself a favor: grab something from a bakery on your way in. Try to eat it and see how many pigeons come calling. Enjoy every last bite while the pigeons look on dejectedly. Another thing to do: take all your little, worthless coins, and see how many of them you can land on top of the sunken Buren column. Make it a competition, if you're with friends. For every coin you land, they have to buy you a scoop of ice cream, and vice versa. One more thing: if you have children, let them jump from column to column. Let them play in the sandbox. If they bury a toy in the sand and then can't find it, come back and check for it again some other time. Keep coming back and keep checking. Once twenty years have passed, you've probably checked enough. (It should be obvious by now that I'm speaking from personal experience. The main beauty of the Palais Royal is that there are as many ways to do it as there are people who go there. When you leave, you'll leave with a fine coat of gravel dust on your shoes. I've packed many a dirty shoe in my time, and when I opened my suitcase again at the other end of my travels, it was always with a grin on my face.)

Yelp
The palais was under restoration but it was still a wonderful place to walk around. There were many interesting stores in the surrounding area and an art installation which was outside the cultural office.

Yelp
The ideal oasis to rest your weary legs away from the throngs and masses. Hidden behind some government buildings, you'll find some delightful gardens with a splendid fountain and the ubiquitous green seats for lazing on. Surrounded by posh boutiques and restaurants, these gardens somehow retain their peacefulness, even in the height of the tourist season on a weekend, mostly because the bus tours don't come here and the tourists can't find it. Worth a visit, without a doubt. Bring a packed lunch and relax.

Yelp
After you're done with the Louvre, come here for a much needed stress relief. If there's a bench available, take a seat and relax. There are also vendors around selling inexpensive snacks and sandwiches for a picnic. Worth a stop over.

Yelp
Les Jardins du Palais Royal is on the very bottom of any list of "things to see" while in Paris. Honestly, you can just get away with browsing the user images on Yelp because this place doesn't have much to offer it's visitors outside of a sidewalk for a stroll off the busy streets. If you want to feel really Parisian, you can wander through the gardens looking smartly dressed and sophisticated. Perhaps even park your seat on a bench to watch others troll by. Unfortunately for me, there are too many amazing places to eat and too many museums to see in Paris to really enjoy the gardens like most people seem to. Perhaps I was rushed, or really just didn't appreciate the lines of trees and benches. You decide!

Randy S.

Yelp
More local Parisians here than tourists. It has all the elements of a great park: history, chairs under rows of shady trees, a large fountain, benches amid blooming flowers. Location, location, location. The No Worries Paris guidebook help me find this quiet place to renew and reflect.

Yelp
My most favourite garden in Paris - smaller, not so full of tourists and most of all, it houses some of the fashion houses such as marc jacob, it is tranquil and is a little paradise amongst the area where everyone's rushing to the Louvre.... definitely worth a visit

D W.

Yelp
It's taken me 3 trips to Paris to discover this gem. Peaceful. Tranquil. And when you see mostly Parisians and their families relaxing by the fountain or walking the shops that surround the courtyard, you know you've done well. The garden captures the atmosphere of a relaxed Paris.
