"Palatino is a great Jamaican spot in a part of Wynwood that doesn’t get a lot of foot traffic, even though it’s one block north from where most people think Wynwood begins. Come here if you want some great jerk chicken, oxtail, roti, and more Jamaican classics, but save it for when you’re not in a big rush. Palatino is a small operation and normally it’s just the very sweet owner taking orders from everyone, so it’s understandable that you might be waiting 20 minutes or more. It’s going to be worth it though - and better than most food you can get in the neighborhood." - Ryan Pfeffer

The jerk chicken was absolutely AMAZING!! The gravy is to die for. The chicken was so tender and the portion is generous. And the owner was so kind I will never forget her. She's so kind and loving. This place deserves more than 5 stars. Much love

Staff was friendly. The food was delicious! My rice & peas just lovely, but the white rice was dry. Very dry! They cook their cabbage just the way I cook mine. It was cold on arrival but it tasted good. I gave four stars because the wait time was too long for food that wasn’t cooked fresh, & I wasn’t offered anything to drink. So I didn’t purchase any beverage. I was also asked a couple times if I was ready to place my order, when clearly I wasn’t ready to order because, I was still discussing what was best to order with the company I was with. Most of all, they didn’t have what I really wanted to eat available. So I settled. Which still turned out okay. But still, I want what I want! AND- Finally, new dishes are needed. I was eating off of a chipped plate. Overall, I would definitely recommend my friends & family to try this authentic Jamaican food spot out. Ooh, my plantains were hot & yummy, too! 😋

Amazing customer service. The only Caribbean restaurant in the area so food sells out quick. When I first arrived at the restaurant there were limited things available to order so I was told to come back. When I finally got back the food was still not ready till another 30 minutes. Because I had to wait such a long time for the food I was offered free bottled water on the house. I ordered oxtail with rice and peas and steamed vegetables. It tasted absolutely amazing and the portion size was great too. I was definitely full after that meal. This restaurant is worth a visit if you’re ever in Wynwood Miami.

Google
My crew and I wanted authentic Jamaican/Caribbean food. We were iffy about the "palatino" in the name just because most Jamaican wants their name 'straight outta Jamaica' but we were NOT disappointed about our decision at all. Best Jamaican food we've ever had, the rice and beans was just perfect and meat seasoned well, smells amazing and taste even better. The portions are huge and prices are very affordable. Thank me now and try it.

We were invited into the restaurant by a non-employee. It was around noon and Nadine (owner) hadn't prepared any of the food for the day, even though we assumed they would be open for lunchtime. We eventually were able to put our order in, and while the food was delivered to our table and Nadine was hospitable, the brown stew chicken was partially undercooked. You can tell she's under-staffed and it affected the quality of the food, not to mention while mutton curry and patties were listed on the menu outside, all she could offer was jerk, stew and chicken curry. Hopefully she can find a helper, as this place sits just off central Wynwood and could attract much more clientele with more consistency.

Yelp
A few coworkers and I decided we wanna Jamaican food so we looked on yelp to help us. We found this restaurant and two of my coworkers went and picked up lunch for the rest of us. It took a long time for the food to be ready. My coworkers were gone a while waiting. We all wanted oxtail but much to our dismay they were running very low on oxtail that day. I decided to get the jerk chicken lunch. The first piece of chicken was perfectly cooked, nice and juicy and spicy with the right amount of Jamaican heat. The second piece, however, had no spice to it whatsoever. It tasted like plain baked chicken to me. The peas and rice were pretty good and I enjoyed the plantains. I feel it was a fair price for the amount of food that I got and considering it's in Wynwood, I am surpised it wasn't more. I'd like to try the oxtail next time, hopefully they have enough.

Yelp
Strong on charm and cozy spot with local art on the walls available for purchase. Super good Jerk chicken and curry. The owners are super sweet. The wider runs the front f the house and the hubby is the chef. They're so friendly and attentive and just want to make sure you're comfortable and enjoying their food and space. Give this fam biz a try.

Yelp
As a Jamaican, Broward raised, Brooklyn made and epicurean I am particular about my island and do not give a 'bly' for underwhelming food. 'In truth and in fact,' this establishment has service issues and does sometimes have inconsistency in preparation. Yet for alI intensive, proximity purposes it is authentic enough, sometimes to a point of comedy (from the delays, food run-outs, forgetfulness, to the peddling of art and other hotep baubles), the food on its off days is palatable and on its best tasty. Prices are reasonable for location on outskirt of Wynwood, lunch discount on certain dishes, vegetarian and vegan options, biggups for the choose two meats option, and the secret star menu item is fresh, live juices (di sour sop nice!), oh and fresh callaloo but with various weekend availability. To date, below North Miami, and east, this is best option 'fi yahd food' between downtown to the beach. During Art Basel, lines around the corner, food sell out, unpredictable open & close times. Independence Day in August they may not be open if on a Monday. They should tighten operations and promote even just a little so more people know about this unbuffed, likkle JA gem. 'Dem have some work fi do.' Net net, still, raise my flag to this true mom & pop, wife & husband owned & ran kitchen spot. #Wynning Orig Post 6/10/17 #dodrinkdine

Yelp
Friendly staff and great food! My girlfriend and I shared the Jerk chicken plate which was very satisfying for us. Also props on the flavor and presentation. We will definitely be back! It's great to find places like these in Wynwood where they make prepare food home cooked style! Just how the neighborhood should be.

Yelp
This is the best meal we had in Miami!!! So so delicious.. do not.. I repeat do not miss it. My friend and I had a hard time leaving the leftovers but had no where to keep them :( saddest day of my life.

Yelp
Visiting from Cali with my dad and we wanted to try something a little more local. This is a small, family owned restaurant. The chef and his wife made us feel very welcomed and were a joy to talk to. We got the goat curry and jerk chicken and both were excellent! Also we could tell the food was fresh and cooked to order. Would highly recommend to friends and visitors who want to have a great meal while enjoying the art from the local artists that's hung all over the restaurant.

Yelp
This is my favorite Jamacian restuarant in Miami. From the street it looks like small place you may just pass by but once you go in you can feel the good vibes. Ms. Nadine with her warm smile greets you. Me and my friend was on vacation in South Beach, looking for a Jamaican resturant and Palatino Jamaican Restuarant came up on Yelp. I ordered Red Snapper dinner andshe order curry shrimp. It took a while to get our meal but very thing was cooked fresh when ordered. While we waited the good reggae music, inspirational quotes and tribute wall to Bob Marley was keeping the vibes irie. Chef Slim brings out our meal and when I saw the Red Snapper I knew he know how to cook. A picture is a thousand words. When you go ask for Black Bean soup and Coco Bread. But the Red Snapper is my favorite. Let them know Regina from Philly sent you.

Yelp
The service was excellent however the jerk chicken was just a bit too hot (spicy hot) for our liking. Perhaps our palates weren't quite ready for the heat in the dish. I enjoy spicy food for the most part however this jerk chicken was so spicy I had a hard time tasting the flavors of the rice and plantains. Jerk chicken has so many different flavors ... and I always appreciate the slight sweetness of the brown sugar and the savory flavor of the garlic ... but I couldn't taste any of those since the chili peppers over powered everything else.

Yelp
I was with a friend of mine in the area and we were both craving jamaican food. We decided to come here and test our luck. The pros: 1) Tender chicken and great king fish 2) Very good hospitality. The owner made me feel extremely comfortable 3) Very cost effective given the area its in Cons: 1) the wait was 30 min even though i had ordered ahead of time. The owner did inform us that her husband makes everything from scratch. 2. The macaroni was extremely oily. I loved the flavor without the extra heart clogging oil. Overall i would recommend this as a restaurant to try. Its a very homely feeling and the staff make you feel welcome.

Yelp
I'd bookmarked this place a few months ago after one of my Yelp friends had written a review. Fast forward, my friend comes to visit and it turns out that after browsing for great Caribbean food in the area, he came across this place and also bookmarked it. Perfect opportunity to get my list of bookmarked places down. My expectations were high and not necessarily met. When we walked in the place felt welcoming and certainly held that island charm. There was Jamaican memorabilia all over the place which made the feel authentic. After going through the menu we'd settled on Oxtails and rice and peas because everything else had practically run out. The food arrived in pretty good timing. The oxtail had good flavor but they weren't hot enough. My rice and peas, tasted as though they'd scraped the bottom of a scorched pot. The meal left me a bit disappointed, but not discouraged. To be fair, we arrived fairly late in the evening, but we still expected to be taken to "Flavortown" after seeing their overall rating and reviews. Our waitress was a very sweet older woman. She made it a point to check in with us from time to time. Well, to be honest, she was checking for my dinner companion (he's a very handsome guy might I add). She was definitely batting eyes. Lol. I want to give this place another chance and I will. I'm hoping for something better.

Yelp
We arrived at 12:00 noon and ordered almost immediately: Curry goat and oxtail. Both came with rice & peas; vegetables (cabbage) and sweet plantains. At the time we ordered, there were no other patrons at the restaurant. Since we were dining-in, we wholly expected fast service since no one else was there at the time. However, folks with To-Go orders started to arrive and their orders were prepared and whisked away. At 12:20, we started looking around and wondering if we'd even get offered a glass of water while we waited for our meals to be served. They saw us looking back toward the kitchen and then asked if we wanted water? Why, yes, and thanks for noticing. At 12:50, our food started to arrive in shifts... Since we had nearly an hour to wait for our food, we started to evaluate the restaurant more critically. The restaurant is definitely in need of a good Spring cleaning. Our table looked like it was only haphazardly wiped down between guests. The placemats, tables, salt/pepper shakers, napkin holders, floors, countertops and coolers all need cleaning TLC. Also, the aromas of curry, jerk and other Jamaican spices were curiously absent when we walked in... Not a good sign! Finally at 12:50: First the oxtail arrived ALONE, then the curry goat (which was cold; had to send it back). Five minutes passed and the bowl of rice & peas arrived with the reheated curry goat. Another five minutes and the bowl of vegetables arrived. Since nothing arrived at the same time, our dining experience was disjointed and clumsy and took way too long. The flavors? Everything was just OK. The cabbage seemed to be the only flavorful and fresh menu item. It almost seemed as if the curry goat and oxtail had been pre-made and came out of the refrigerator to be warmed once we ordered those items. Not very fresh meats in my opinion. Also, the goat was FAR more bony than any other curry goat I've EVER had. Plus it was "curry-light" in flavor. Trust me, I absolutely know and LOVE Jamaican food and have eaten it for years all around the country and around the world. Sadly, this was my worst experience all around; the time it took for the food to arrive, the seeming lack of freshness; the (lack of) flavor of the food; and, the lack of restaurant cleanliness. Note: To the manager's credit, he apologized profusely for the long wait time and the cold curry goat. He indicated that they had some "staffing issues" and it resulted in the dining experience being affected. That was a nice gesture but too little, too late. He also offered a free meal upon our return next time; however, it would've been better to comp part of our meal that day since we hadn't paid yet. Just a thought. Overall: This restaurant truly has great potential but would benefit from a complete overhaul of the menu, staffing and cleanliness.

Yelp
Excellent Caribbean restaurant. I had the oxtail and my mom had the curry goat and both were great. Dishes come with two sides of your choice. Will definitely come back for more

Cesar M.

Yelp
Love the fact that you can taste the authenticity in the food. Oxtail is my favorite dish and Palatino never disappoints.

Chiantae C.

Yelp
Very disappointing. Food was reheated in the microwave, flavorless and absolutely no love was present. In addition the drinks in the cooler were expired and surroundings were unkempt. I will not be going back.

Oyeyimika O.

Yelp
A Jamaican restaurant that runs out of top sellers middle of business hours is nothing more than a bad joke that's just not funny. Gotta do better Palatino

Dice G.

Yelp
Place smells nasty inside in also had to wait like 40mins for food then they didn't have anything to put my fish in so he sent the lady next door to get a foil pan which she comes out the store with nothing covering it etc but just to much to write... rate 1-10 Absolutely 0‼

Yelp
Strike one: Ordered a meal via UberEats. The restaurant was out of an item and the food was not ready, making delivery almost 30 minutes past quoted time. Strike two: Tried ordering again via UberEats. The restaurant called and said they were out of an item and asked to replace it with another. A second item I ordered was sold out (mac & cheese) and instead of notifying me, it was arbitrarily replaced with an item I am allergic to (plantains). Delivery was also very late again, due to my order not being ready. Strike three: I went to the restaurant on a Tuesday afternoon, during advertised business hours to discuss my concerns. The restaurant was CLOSED DURING BUSINESS HOURS! Three strikes, you're out. Never ordering from here again.

Jacquekeia J.

Yelp
The food here is amazing. I had curry goat and my husband had oxtails. Very nice lady that works there.

Danea C.

Yelp
So disappointing. After reading the reviews I just knew I was in for a treat but my meal was far from it. Either I caught them on a bad day or there are 50+ people writing reviews who've never had actual great Jamaican food before. I was most looking forward to the mac & cheese since that was a popular topic of discussion. When I heard the person taking my order say they had one more mac I thought it was my lucky day. There's no way what I got is what everyone was calling amazing and it was obvious they served me whatever scraps of noodles and cheese were left in the pan. The main entree portion of my delivery container had the rice in it rather than my entree, the stew chicken. Decent chicken but again far from the best I've ever had and more expensive to boot. The only redeemer was the beef patty which tasted like all other beef patties and was still nice and hot. So I basically ended up paying $18 for a beef patty and a ton of rice with a little bit of chicken. Won't be going back to try any other dishes unless someone else plans on paying for it.

Shesasheen J.

Yelp
This is by far the worst curry chicken I have ever had. The Curry Chicken was over cooked and under seasoned.

Christina L.

Yelp
Omggggg yesss. Absolutely amazing food. And their patties are heavenly! But what's also super heavenly is the owner! Nadine is so sweet and will go above and beyond to make sure you're happy. @Nadine, We're happy and can't wait to order again.

Alex C.

Yelp
Came into town, with a bachelor who had spent some time in Jamaica. He insisted on having Jamaican food as part of his party. So we obliged. This place was really cool, great food and friendly service. Hole in the wall feel, with Nadine who is a highly decorated member of the community and environmentalist. You can look at pictures to see but everything was great. I had the curry coat, loved it. She gave s a huge rice and beans for the table. Oxtail looked amazing too. Always conflicted to recommend a good mom and pops because I want it for myself, but that wouldn't be fair. Try it out.

Ramona P.

Yelp
I love Caribbean food!!!! When I visit Miami, this is my go to restaurant for good Caribbean food. If you aren't paying attention, you would definitely walk right pass as I have done many of times..lol. The jerk chicken is very delicious. I've also had this mango juice that was really good. I'm still anticipating on trying the mac n' cheese...they are always out or in the process of making it when I come. I've heard it is really good. The wait time is quite long, but it is definitely worth it, especially with the great customer service that they give.

Sequoia B.

Yelp
Went sign said opened people going in and out she told me she was closed. No good customer service and if you are taking personal orders don't open your door and say open

Anjali R.

Yelp
Excellent service and pretty good Jamaican food. The owner, Nadine, started this business a few years ago and you can tell that she really enjoys what she does. She is incredibly friendly and will often sit down and chat while the food is being prepared. We've ordered the jerk chicken, jerk pork and and Oxtail on various different visits. Everything is delicious. The jerk chicken is a little different from what I'm used to-- they use more of a moist gravy instead of a dry rub. The jerk pork is bursting with flavor ( definitely a must-try) and the oxtail is my favorite here. The portions are large, so you'll most likely have enough for leftovers. For sides, try the steamed vegetables and the Mac and cheese. Both very yummy!

pauldine f.

Yelp
This place should shut down. I have given it a chance at least 7 times and they've only gotten my order correct once. I am now telling everyone to go to another place. Owners have no respect for its delivery customers. Their delivery people don't show up. Orders are poorly packaged. Now I ordered and waited 1.5 hours. I call to see what is going on. They say the delivery guy didn't come but the food is ready. So you mean ... you let my meal go to waste instead of asking someone or Uber my meal 15 mins away. Pick up? Why would i have asked for delivery if I could pick up at the moment? No care in the world. Things must be so great that losing customers are not a problem. Never again. If you are hungry and want something that looks fresh and well packaged? Go elsewhere

Helen D.

Yelp
Let's start off with the service was great! She did such a wonderful job and was such a sweet lady =) We ordered the meat combo (Jerk chicken and oxtail), rice and beans, calallo (not sure if that is how you spell it), and plantains. Everything was so good and flavorful. We definitely would come back when we are in Miami again. We were told the bottle of water they served are shipped in from Jamaica. She talked about the water like it would be the best water you ever had. I didn't really believe her until I tried it. I just can't explain the taste/feeling what you drink the water. You just have to try it to believe it. We had bottled water we got from a grocery store. It was definitely a difference.

Kristal P.

Yelp
The food was Beyond amazing!! Best Jamaican food I've ever had!!! They were also very hospitable & family owned!

Jorge G.

Yelp
Good food, takes a long time though, more than 20min minimum. Asked for food that was ready to serve/ready to go, still took over 20min, left without food after payinglast time due to long wait while on my lunch break.

Jonathon H.

Yelp
We decided to eat at Palantino on the recommendation of our AirBNB Host in Miami. It was his family's restaurant so we decided to support him and the fact that it was a local culinary establishment that we don;t really have around us in my part of Houston. The owners were really nice, we were treated like family. The food was amazing. We had the Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat, white rice with black beans, the fried plantains, and the mac & cheese. Let me say, I'm not a fan of fried plantains but these wear the best fried plantains I've ever had I couldn't stop eating them. The jerk chicken was nice and spicy, the curry goat was nice and sweet, the beans and rice changed my friends life, he will never eat beans and rice separately again. The mac and cheese... I've had all kinds of mac and cheeses from places such as Jus' Mac where they have mac and cheese that comes in every flavor under the rainbow, I've had mac and cheese at almost every restaurant that I've been to that serves it... This is hands down one of the most flavorful mac and cheeses I've had. It was nice and spicy, had a nice crispy layer of (some people think this is gross but I like it) over cooked cheese on the top, and it was made with the big shell pasta. I would have given 5 stars, but they were out of a couple of things we wanted, the primary being the Jamaican patties, but don't let that deter you from eating here everything is great here.

Shae M.

Yelp
Hard time location g the place, but only because I'm not familiar with miami. My husband, I and my best friend was craving Jami can food and we stumbled across this little place. Upon arrival it was empty except for Nadine the owner. Don't let that stop you. We dined in and order their fresh fruit smoothies which were delicious. My husband who is jamaican order the oxtails, I ordered jerk chicken and my friend ordered curry chicken. I must say we were all very surprised. Everything was delicious. My husband practically inhaled his food. Definitely give this place a try!

Yelp
I came here on Saturday night with some out of town friends. They wanted to check out the Wynwood Walls, and we all agreed that a Jamaican meal beforehand sounded interesting. The restaurant is small but brightly lit and the walls are covered with art and inspirational sayings. We were seated immediately and brought waters and menus. The server asked if we had been here before and when we said no, she said to just ask her if we had any questions about the menu. We decided to share a bunch of items - coconut shrimp starter, jerk chicken (on the suggestion of the server), the curry goat and the kingfish. She gave us a double order of the coconut shrimp since it was our first time trying it and I have to say.... heaven! The shrimp were fried perfectly and the coconut coating had a lovely, subtle flavor. The food arrived next and everyone really enjoyed it. She brought the jerk sauce for the chicken on the side, which was prudent as it was fairly spicy. The goat was very tender with a delicate curry flavor. I had never had kingfish before - it is a white fish but very steak-y - almost like a swordfish. It was cooked perfectly and came with sauteed peppers and onions. The food came with plaintains and red beans and rice. The prices were extremely reasonable for large portions of delicious food. A few negative things to point out: They were out of a few menu items, and the server wasn't sure about others (for example, she didn't know what was inside the dumplings). Two people in our party ordered salads with their meals instead of plantains and the salads never came. Waters were not refilled, even though we asked. There is still signage on the door and in the menu about there being ice cream, but they are swapping out ice cream for beer and wine (which I think is a bonus, actually). I really wish Yelp had the ability to give half stars because Palatino was a perfect 3.5. I am rounding up because I believe the missteps are due to newness and understaffing more than a lack of interest by the staff. The chef came out to see how we liked the food and apologized for the slow service as she was the only one manning the kitchen. The server thanked us for coming and when she said she hoped to see us again, it seemed like she genuinely meant it. Stop by when you're not in a rush and enjoy the irie!

Veronica M.

Yelp
The food was the best I had while in Miami. They serve authentic Jamaican food. I had a curry chicken dinner with rice and beans and cabbage. I also had a slice of rum cake and believe me it was moist and good. I finished it in the car and had to go back for a 2nd slice. The location was about 30 mins from Lincoln ave but it was worth getting out. The location was not in the best part of town but we got our meals to go. I will definitely go back. Just to add to the good food, the hospitality was great!!!They treated us like we were long time friends ( nothing like what we experienced at other places in Mia).

Mylani W.

Yelp
This has to be one of my new favorite Jamaican restaurants in Miami. Not only was the food fresh, it had amazing flavor, great portions and the people who work there are amazing! You can definitely tell this is a family owned restaurant where they care about their guests satisfaction while making amazing food to keep their guests happy. Will definitely be coming back ! One love

Yelp
Let me start off this review by thanking the Yelper who recommended this place, Terry L. Thank you for bringing such a delicious restaurant to my attention! Tucked in a small Wynwood strip mall, across from a boys' school is Palatino, a hole in the wall. Though Terry has advised that parking may be tricky, on this Saturday afternoon, we had no trouble finding parking. Palatino is a small, cozy restaurant. If you're expecting fancy, this isn't it, but you'd be foolish to judge a book by its cover. As soon as my friend and I entered, we were greeted by a young girl and given a menu. We sat down at a table and admired the art. They had some pretty, colorful pieces, for sale. We both ordered the jerk chicken, with different sides. I ordered the Kallaloo and side salad with my jerk chicken. The food came out, and it looked so delicious, and homemade, like something my mom would serve me. Sometimes, so much effort is put into presentations that the food just comes out with an impersonal, cold touch. Two drumsticks, a quarter and the Kallaloo were on the dish, along with a golden spicy juice emanating from the baked chicken. The golden chicken was simply delicious. Finally, a place that uses hot pepper but does not overwhelm the food with hotness. There were scotch bonnet seeds put under the chicken's skin to give it a delicate spiciness. It was tender and juicy, and not heavy. The Kallaloo was delicious, I had never had that before. Kallaloo is made with amaranth and chopped peppers, and resembles collard greens. The only thing I was not too fond of was the salad dressing. They gave you a small pack of balsamic vinegar, like they would at a fast food restaurant. I would have preferred either a homemade dressing, or for the dressing to come in a carafe, just to make it seem less commercialized. The owner assured us that the food is authentic, and I confirmed with Terry that it is. She was very attentive, constantly asking us if we liked our food. She even asked if we liked avocado and before I knew it, two slices of avocado were on our table. It was ripe, just right. For dessert, she suggested her homemade carrot cake, so we took her up on it. It was delicious, she's quite the pastry chef too! She asked us to please come again, and considering the amazing food, I think we will be back -- soon!

Terry L.

Yelp
I's a FAN folks (YUPPPP)! This is a nice little restaurant sitting in the heart of Wynwood! Today is my second time being able to experience such great cuisine but before I get to the food I want to commend there service. On both occasions I was immediately greeted at the door, educated about the menu and had the liberty to engage with the owner. Everyone seems friendly and will apologize for any delay regarding the food coming out. The restaurant has 4 tables and 2 high top tables with each table having 4 seats so the restaurant is pretty intimate. Depending on where you choose to seat you can see the cook(s) in the kitchen doing their magic. I have had the liberty of trying the following... Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas - Baked chicken flavored wonderfully with spices. The sauce from the jerk chicken taste so good with the rice! Escovitch Fried Snapper - Let me tell YOU, this does not disappoint, the snapper is large in size and had a lot of meat! It was fried to perfection and the onions and peppers with the sauce over it takes the dish to another level - love it! All food is made to order! They do deliver within the area. There is a TV to watch and nice island music in the background! You must come check this place out and hey you'll probably see me!

Yelp
Food was delicious. No pressure to get in and get out. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and the owner was there alone. She was sweet and helpful. We ordered the goat curry and jerk chicken and it was amazing! We got a coke from the convenient store next door and enjoyed our food in a relaxed atmosphere that felt like hanging out in a dormitory day room.

Yelp
So the guys at work have a tradition called Jamaican Friday, which basically consists of eating Jamaican food every pay day. We've been on the lookout for a new Jamaican spot & I think I've found it! Sadly, it's a bit too far for us to go for lunch break, but the good news is that Palatino delivers, not only to our office, but also to my house! Yikes! Danger! Extremely dangerous, because Palatino is serving up some completely legit Jamaican food. We shared the combo platter, so we could try two different meats. We ordered the curry chicken (Yes! More please!) and the Jerk Pork. Omg! The pork!! Growing up in GA, I'm a huge fan of anything pork. Now add a homemade Jamaican jerk and I'm basically in love. Palatino served up a generous portion of meats with two huge sides. Of course we had to get some rice & beans. Since there was nothing but rave reviews of the Mac & Cheese, we pretty much had to get that as well. It did not disappoint. In fact this may be some of the best damn Mac & Chee I've ever put in my mouth. Yes, this is coming from a Southern girl raised on buttery-cheesy sides! It was baked in casserole form, but so moist and cheesy and packed full of flavor. Now y'all see the danger in discovering Palatino's delivery range includes work and home! Theoretically, I could live of off their menu... Just sayin'. It's possible. Next time you're in Wynwood, skip the typical played-out dinner spots and get you some of this real down home cooking.

Yelp
This is a great experience and wonderful place starting with first the ambiance and the pleasurable staff. Now it's definitely your down home type of establishment, which I find to be the BEST kind of places to eat! Now I ordered the oxtails, Mac-cheese, and peas and rice, I was afraid because we came so late that most times you know the food isn't as fresh, but here it was still fresh and delicious. My first time there and I will be going back

Yelp
Ridiculously delicious! From the jerk chicken, to the curry goat, to the brown chicken stew, the calaloo, cabbage, and even the conch fritters... everything is full of flavor, fresh, and only makes you want to eat more. The staff is really sweet and very attentive as well. The only warning I have is: look at what you're eating... I got excited last night and ate almost an entire scotch bonnet that was in my food not seeing it. Haha. It was a surprise, I love hot, it was hoooooooooooooootttttttttttttt. Now that I know, I'll be searching for those little buggers to eat more!

Yelp
Everything we ordered was great! I love the feel of this restaurant; the walls are covered with work from local artists and the woman who took our order was so sweet and welcoming. But most importantly the food was amazing!

Yelp
Excellent food and wonderful service, she talked to us and was kind and pleasant! I loved my food especially the cabbage and mac and Cheese! Everyone ordered rice so we got the bowl in the center. Great for sharing and the prices are quite reasonable. Our waitress even gave us the WiFi password!!! Great experience! Great Food!

Yelp
Guess you have to go before 3pm. They didn't have much of anything including drinks. I ordered rice and peas, curry goat with plantains. I got my food and half of it was cold. How does that even happen? Ended up throwing away the cold parts bc I was so upset. Who wants to eat cold curry goat? The food was flavorful though. Please don't order any plantains if you're West Indian bc you'll know it's not legit. It was tough and wasn't pleasing to eat. Don't know who was in the back frying but they clearly aren't West Indian.

Yelp
I love to support a mom and pop bhsiness especially my island folks...it hurts me to have to put them on blast but...I'm Jamaican born and raised...and I do not endorse this restaurant. I think a lot of ppl slap the name Jamaican on restaurants (especially ppl.from other caribbean nations like Bahamaian, Haitian...etc) because they married a Jamaican or something....the food is subpar...It should be name Palatino Caribbean because the cook is not Jamaican... We tasted the food and being Jamaican...it was an instant no. We had high hopes. ppl need to stop lying to attract "white" americans who dont know the difference. Giving Jamaican food a bad name...especially since it is the only one in Miamo. sorry not sorry. They need to go back to the drawing board and HIRE A REAL JAMAICAN CHEF.

Yelp
So, I am highly upset. My coworker and I placed an order online at 11:50am for pick up and selected a 12:50pm pick up. He arrived at the restaurant and they told him that the food was not yet ready. My job is located on Brickell Avenue which they do not usually deliver to. However, because the food was not ready, they told him that they would deliver the food to our office and it would be here is 45 minutes to an hour. It's now over 2.5 hours since the order was initially placed and I have yet to get the food. We tried on numerous occasions to reach them via phone and it goes directly to voicemail. We left several messages and no call back. This is ridiculous. The food came and here is my food based review: We ordered a salad, a TING, 2 orders of jerk chicken, 1 curry chicken and home fries. We did not receive the salad and TING that we paid for. The Jerk chicken had no jerk/spice whatsoever---it tasted bland...no jerk sauce, nothing. I am Jamaican - born and raised and I was very disappointed in this jerk. Even my co worker who is not Jamaican was disappointed in that jerk chicken as well. He liked the mac & cheese tho.

Yelp
The worst Jamaican food and one of the worst meals I ever had and i've had a few bad plates We were refunded our entire bill after arguing for a while The jerk was all oil, no jerk seasoning and tasted like old bbq sauce Mac n Cheese was like spagetti and tomato sauce i kid you not I feel bad continuing but the Curry was more Seth than Steph The rice was hard, like they scraped the pot to give us final portion, so bad No Mon

Yelp
AmazInnnnnngggggg!!! A hidden gem in miami. Right next to wynwood but the feel of what wynwood use to feel like before it became all touristy. A true miami experience. The owner is a sweet lady who makes you feel at home when you step in. I actually went there to pick a package from a UPS checkpoint after amazon couldn't deliver it to my home, sigh. I was really annoyed but this turned out to be a blessing. Initially I was really intrigued by all the art hung up on the walls and the homey feel of the restaurant. I told the owner that I would be back Saturday to try their jerk chicken. I went back today and it was such an amazing experience. Everyone is so nice and welcoming, I feel like I'm not in the states anymore but in the Caribbean (we basically are tho) the food was amazing we had chicken curry and curry goat and it was great. They come with a side of rice & beans and plantains or side salad. The meat was seasoned to perfection, and you can tell it was simmered in the curry stew for a while. If you don't want extra peppers on food let them know because Jamaicans love peppers but without them the curry is not spicy. They sell beer and soft drinks. For lunchtime she had a weekday special for 6.50 and I think weekend dinner is about $12 if I did the math right. It's around that. Again the service is so amazing, the feel of this small restaurant is so cozy. I can't help but feel overwhelming joy. It's like the owner invited you to her own house and treats you like a family member. Also there's a painter, walter, outside who paints landscapes and is so sweet. He has his art on display and paints in front of the restaurant for everyone to see. I couldn't say any more better things about this place, amazing feel, amazing service, amazing food! Good thing I live close to this place because they just earned themselves a new regular. I apologize for the bad photo of food, I'm your typical millennial who takes photos of their food but forgot all about my phones existence after I took a bite of that GOAT

Yelp
I love finding hidden gems and this is definitely one of them! Food is delicious, service is great and the place is really cute! If you're looking for an authentic Jamaican meal I totally recommend Palatino! I had the brown stew chicken with Mac and cheese and peas and rice. The serving is huge and the food was amazing. My friend had the jerk pork which was a little spicy but deliciously seasoned. The callaloo, spinach prepared "Jamaican" style was great too. I will definitely be back to try some of their other dishes!

Yelp
I placed an order for delivery at 2:11pm for curry goat, coco bread, ting and three cookies. After back and forth and being told it would take longer than expected I said I would wait. The wait went from 30 min to 3 hours in total to receive my order. I received it at 5pm. The order arrives and it's the smallest amount of curry goat I've seen and a bunch of rice and veggies, they ran out of ting and told me two hours after the fact and replaced it with two teas and only two cookies. Never again.
