Palazzo Corsini, Rome

Not very big. Not well organized. Take a while to figure out what is what. Inscriptions are on the panels somewhere in the room and not next to the painting. Entrance with a booking was a mess, had to wait for half an hour in spite of having a time slot. They do have a reasonable website that discusses the history and the masterpieces. If you're in the neighborhood - go, otherwise not worth a detour.

Today, Palazzo Corsini serves as the prestigious headquarters of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, Italy’s oldest scientific academy, founded in 1603. This institution, dedicated to the advancement of knowledge and culture, perfectly complements the historical and intellectual significance of the palazzo. Over the centuries, it has become a hub for scholarly research, cultural events, and exhibitions, making it a vital part of Rome’s rich heritage.

This is a very nice museum, with a very unique design and architecture. There are plenty of great works of art to see, there are lots of nice, statues, paintings and artifacts. The collection is very well preserved and displayed. The grounds are very well kept and maintained, there’s lots to see and do in and around this area. I really enjoyed my time here and I would definitely recommend checking it out.

A charming small museum with a pleasant atmosphere. Though organization and information about the artworks could be improved, right now I would give 0 to the curators. The museum's historical significance, housed in the Corsini family palace, adds a unique touch.

The National Gallery of Ancient Art (Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica) is held at two historic palaces in Rome. These include the Palazzo Barberini just off Piazza Barberini as well as this museum branch at Palazzo Corsini in Trastevere. Ticket purchase now €15 and includes entrance to both locations within a 20 day period. Opening times are 10am to 7pm daily, closed on Monday at both museum branches as well. The National Gallery collection at Palazzo is centred around the Corsini collection which was donated to the Kingdom of Italy at the time of the State's purchase of the palace. Here you will primarily see artworks from the late-Renaissance up until the late 18th century, artists such as Fra Angelico, Giordano, Murillo, Van Dkyke, Rubens, Reni and Caravaggio are represented within the gallery rooms at Corsini. The palace itself is also impressive. Originally built in the 15th century, it was renovated in the 18th-century by architect Ferdinando Fuga. This is what you see today during visits. Afterwards, you make your way to the Barberini Palace branch if you intend to visit both museum locations on the same day or just continue onward with other intended sightseeing nearby. To be fair, this branch is quicker to visit due to the smaller number of fellow tourist visitors and fewer overall gallery rooms compared to what you see at Palazzo Barberini. However, we have enjoyed the masterpieces there more on the occasions that we have been able to visit both.

This is a 'teaching' museum. If you are an extremely dedicated student of the arts then it's worth a visit. Unlike its sibling museum at the Barberini, the Corsini has not been renovated. The artworks here are crying out to be better presented. There are some 'masterpieces' but they are difficult to view and can not be easily appreciated the way they are displayed.

It’s located by the Tiber and two delightful neighborhoods that are fun to amble through. Go to number 10 and up the stairs for the entrance. The Villa Farnesina is close by so you could easily manage a visit to both in a few hours.

Beautiful palazzo in Trastevere formerly owned by the Corsini family (Pope Clemente XII) featuring an impressive collections of paintings mostly displayed in their original location and in the style of the period. Among the many items on display remarkable are Caravaggio's St. John as well as a carved marble Imperial age throne and a silver cup.
