Just got back from 3 days in Florence, staying at Palazzo Vecchietti. The location is perfectly located in the historic center, with less than a 10-15 minute walk to major attractions like Santa Maria Del Fiore, Uffizi Gallery, and Ponte Vecchio. The room was a wonderful mix of modern aesthetic and functionality while maintaining its architectural roots as the Vecchietti family "home." All this is very nice, of course. However the staff of Palazzo Vecchietti was the real star of the vacation. Keep in mind that this is a very small boutique hotel as opposed to the large hotel chains with a large staff. With our frequent comings and goings at all hours, we invariably saw the same individuals who greeted us at the foyer, booked us restaurant reservations, arranged Valentine's Day roses and chocolates, booked transportation, prepared our morning cappuccinos, turn down service with hot tea waiting for us after a long day of walking...the list goes on. Yet it was always the same core group of highly trained, gracious individuals that may our stay the reason why we will be absolutely returning. Bravo, Palazzo Vecchietti!
