Food was very good , servers were efficient and friendly, we will go there again and try some more things on the menu

This place has been a favorite for my son and I for the past year. However two times now the food and service have not been great. Both times we had to ask after 30 minutes for our drinks. My food came to the table with the chicken cold. When I told the sever he argued with me saying “how can it be cold”. Instead of saying let me fix this for you. Mind you he wasn’t even our server. We had to track him down because our server never checked on us. We are so sad but will not be back. Twice now and nothing done to make it right. Get some decent help in there!! Marco is hands down the best and very classy. Both times he wasn’t there. Bummer. At least his amazing service makes up for stuff like food issues. Although food and service were great with him.

Incredible service with authentic Italian dishes. I shared the prosciutto appetizer with my eight year old daughter, who until now ate store-bought prosciutto. She actually noticed it was better, and commented on how the tomatoes and cucumber and fresh mozzarella made the perfect bite. My chicken piccata was the best I've had outside of Italy. Her Bolognese was fantastic, and she ate so much she regretted it! Service was excellent; friendly staff, great starter bread, and an overall atmosphere as completely casual with elevated food and service!

The hubby and I stopped in for a spontaneous date night and was pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing and exceeded our expectations. We got the classics, chicken Alfredo and spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. Most importantly the service was impeccable! Our waiter Marcos took care of us from the beginning to the end. Pulled out our chairs, had perfect timing for the next course, and was courteous and knowledgeable making our experience top notch. This is definitely a gem where the locals eat.

The food is decent but have to be careful when ordering because they use an overabundance of onion. Like half of the pasta sauce is onions. I ask for no onions if possible on my order. If not possible I order something else. The service is outstanding. Quick and with a smile. Atmosphere is definitely lacking. Wish this place were not in a strip mall right next to a gas station and the decor could use some refreshing.

It's great we tried this. I love the gnocchi in florentine sauce. 🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍

First time here, and we will DEFINITELY be back! The marinara on the pizza, and ravioli, was great!

Ordered to go and I have never done this for Palermo'. It did not disappoint the food was excellent the service superior. Portions were enough for lunch the next day! I have been looking for a great food experience and Palermo's satisfied that for me! You already know I'll will go back!

If you like Venticello's in Benicia you'll like Palmeros as well. They're sister restaurants! I think of Venticello's as the older sister. A bit more refined. Palmeros is more casual and fun. The younger sis. A lot of their menu items are the same. So if you live closer to Palmeros and don't want to deal with downtown Benicia parking or driving as far it's a great option to consider. Of the menu items that differ Palmeros offers pizza and calzones. They also do not offer some of the more high end Venticello's dishes like the steak. Palmeros does not offer brunch. I like that Palmeros has a special menu. We tried the butternut squash ravioli from there. Delicious! The dessert menu is the same and even the bread and accompanying dip was probably the same. Service was prompt and friendly! The location is a lot more casual. You're in the same plaza as a gas station. So it's a more low key meal. The only negative I have is I noticed the front door was opened the entire time. I can see us coming back here for a quality Italian dinner!

This is our favorite Italian place in the area. Last 2 times I've asked Chef to go off menu. I've gotten Calamari steak on linguine but with the wine sauce they use for White Clams. So good. Food is always excellent. Love the dipping gravy for the bread. The house salad dressing is delicious. Tonight we had a fantastic server, Chris. He was very attentive, pleasant and efficient. Both my wife and I enjoyed his service and personality. Good job Chris!

Our new neighborhood favorite! This place is just a stones throw from our house! don't know why we forgot about it but we found ourselves here for dinner on a Sunday evening. Everything was delicious, Service was awesome and the prices are not bad! Dinner for 3 one glass of wine, one dessert all for about $100 Tuesday night there is no corkage fee! I'll have to remember that! That is a plus

This is strictly take out. Ordered a $27 seafood pasta dish. It was not only small but the Alfredo was a watered down cream sauce. The 2 scallops were probably the best part of the dish. Because of the bland cream sauce the bell peppers took over the whole dish. So disappointed. I get more seafood from PHO and cheaper. Come on guys. You used to be good. The service from the girl at the front was nice. But I requested butter would she humbly obliged and then totally forgot. I knew I should have checked the order but the bag was tied and a tight knot and didn't have time to work on it since it was so hot outside. I'm sorry guys but Zio Freados and Bambinos got you beat.

Our favorite restaurant by far! Excellent food, cozy atmosphere, and fantastic service! We highly recommend Palermo's!

We love Palermo's for take out. Just had the Chicken Saltimboca and Gnocchi dinners. Absolutely delicious! Salads were great too with creamy Italian dressing.

It was a Friday night, so we made a reservation at 6:30p for 5 people. We showed up a few minutes early and saw they had sat a walk in party of 5 at the table we had a reservation for and the restaurant was now full. The hostess said a table would be available in a "few minutes." 40 minutes later we were sat and ordered our food. The food took at least 30 minutes to come out after being ordered. When the food arrived it was delicious. However, there was no attempt to correct the reservation snafu other than a "we are really sorry."

Delicious Shrimp Rosoto cooked perfectly , French Onion soup lacking onions , Chicken Parmigiana to die for , Dessert Tiramusu & Homemade Gelato not to disappoint

Hidden gem. Excellent food and great service. Casual strip mall location but a great place to have wonderful Italian cuisine and a very reasonable price. The pesto shrimp was delicious and serving size enough to take some home. All entrees include soup or salad. I would highly recommend this restaurant for your causal Italian date night. I think they even have one night, maybe Tuesdays, with no corkage fee (check with them to make sure).

We were here for my birthday dinner and have been quite happy. Tonight was horrible. I had the French onion soup, John had the minestrone. Both were very thin broths; there were no onions inf the onion soup, just 2 slices of bread and a little cheese; the minestrone had few vegetables. Certainly not worth $7 each. We got meatballs for the dogs; John had the bolognese, again subpar. Had to ask for bread. The only high point was the chocolate soufflés, with sides of gelato. If this had been our first visit, we wouldn't be back. In fact, we're considering not returning. We were both extremely disappointed. Maybe Tuesday night isn't a good night to have a birthday dinner.

Went here with my husband and friends for my birthday dinner. No one was disappointed. I expected good food, but it's some of the best restaurant food I've had in ages.

Our favorite place to go! Been going for 20 years and food is consistently great! Wide variety and yummy desserts too.

Well it's been a bit since I've eaten here... I'm not sure why! I'm reluctant to give them 5 stars for selfish reasons, because something's you just want kept a secret! Love this place. To be transparent I'm from Chicago, and ate homemade Italian cuisine my whole life! So I'm picky... This place is great! Would pass my Grandmothers test! The chicken piccata was 6 stars out of 5. I seen another dozen items I now want to try... Only small thing is that every Italian place should have Red wine vinegar and oil dressing! It's easy to make... stores forever and helps balance a heavenly meal! Very very good food and very reasonable prices! The wait staff did a really good job! Don't pass by this place without giving it a try!

Service was good and immediately brought water & bread after I sat down. Ordered minestrone soup which I would give a 6 due to absence of pasta in soup. Main course was Chicken Cacciatore which was very good give it a 9. Also had Italian soda- raspberry which was perfect and was able to take to go since I rarely drink beverages while eating. Real "down home" style for someone who lived in Vicenza for a while, definitely will return. Thank you Palermo!

We showed up at 12:25. Waited for restaurant to open. We left at 12:40 as the restaurant was dark and no one there. Bad Business!!!

Our almost weekly visit!! Food is great and consistent. Service is sporadic ( usually one server). Tried most everything, except for pizza.

Lovely place!! Love love love the food, and pricepoint. But they need to hire more ppl bc it ie really slow i feel. And i havent been there in about a year but theres always just one person working and i would love to see at least 2 servers, then maybe a busboy on top of that. But you take the good with the bad. The food is amazing. I always enjoy the place.

It looks like a strip mall restaurant where you might not expect much, but the food was great! The fresh from the oven bread, with their seasoned oil was lovely. I ordered the white clam pasta. It was one of the best linguine & clams I've ever had. Not only were there about a dozen clams in their shells, but there were lots of chopped clams in the sauce. They have a really nice beer & wine selection but the spirits are extremely limited. One of the other diners I was with ordered a tequila sunrise. It looked good.

** LATE REVIEW ** Hubby and I had a gift card and came here for dinner back in January 2022. We had not been here in ages so it's nice to see that they are still thriving. Our server was nice and always checked on us throughout our meal. Hubby ordered the Carbonara with Caesar salad and I got the Pasta Alaina with house salad w/ Italian vinaigrette dressing. Our server brought us bread service and always ensured our drinks were topped off. Our salad were brought out pretty quickly and we both enjoyed them. Our main entrees were generous portions and it was ok. We ended up being most of our food home because we filled up on the bread and salad.

I'm sitting in Palermos as I write this review, and I was just thinking how sad I'd be if this place ever closed... This is easily our favorite restaurant in Benicia/Vallejo. It took me about 8 years of living down the street before I ever tried it because of the location. Do not let it's location next to the Chevron station deter you! This is a hidden gem! The best thing we've found on the menu is the Cheese Ravioli, and my wife and I get it pretty much every time. Whenever we have out of town guests we bring them here and force them to get the raviolis as well. I know it sounds boring, but it's really all about the sauce. They call it a zesty creamy marinara... which is totally playing it down. It's the most flavorful sauce I've ever had! Also, the service is always great (Shout out to Tony, who knows what we are ordering as soon as we walk in the door and remembers that we are going to wipe out his Parmesan cheese supply!)

The restaurant is a little small however their long list of menu options more than makes up for the size of the place in my opinion! I actually like the small space since it feels cozy and has a really authentic vibe much like small restaurants in Europe. Their food is great and the servings are big. We got the frutti di mare and Napa salad and both were really satisfying. Our servers were equally amazing and helpful! I would love to come back here and try out their other options. Really amazing Italian restaurant outside downtown Benicia.

Love this local gem! Service and food are great with some wine selections that are not available in local stores! I am a lover of eggplant parmigiana and they make me very happy! But to top that off, they have jambalaya and because I would never have expected that, I had to order it! That is the dish that made me come back over and over!

Wow!!! What a hidden gem!! Strip mall surprise! Our friends took us to their new favorite local Italian place and we were impressed! Homemade minestrone soup was perfection! The Salad Special was mixed greens with blue cheese, apple and pear slices, candied walnuts ... it was so good I didn't need the dressing which I think was a tomato vinaigrette. The grilled shrimp was perfect! So good! Chicken cacciatore, risotto with shrimp and the ravioli filled with ricotta.... we also ordered a house salad and a Caesar salad...our party of four were 100% satisfied with the meal! We look forward to returning again and trying the pizzas!

This is a go-to for after 4:30 Italian dinner needs. For a small restaurant, it packs a powerful flavor punch. Great variety of Italian dishes, a decent wine list, and dessert options.

We ordered take out for a family dinner on Father's Day from Palermos. We are new to Vallejo & are still learning about the area restaurants. Our neighbors recommended Palermo's for good Italian food. They were so right! We ordered 6 different entries. Everyone found their dinners tasty. I had the Aglio Pomodoro with angel hair instead of linguine. The person taking my order easily substituted my noodle choice. She also told me that they were busy and gave me a time that I could pick up our order. I found this VERY helpful & was pleased to find the food ready & waiting for me when I arrived. Palermo's didn't disappoint for our family Father's Day celebration & the moms didn't need to cook! Everyone wins!

So this is our favorite Italian spot and we've been coming here for years. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, especially since it's right next to a gas station. It's intimate aka small, but has a backroom which we've reserved when we had larger groups. Crazy thing is that 99% of the time, this place has been sooooo good. But of course, now that we're yelping, the food wasn't up to par this last visit. I was planning on giving them a 5, but will have to give a 4 for now. When we eat here again, I'll bump it back to a 5, if the food meets our expectations! With the exception of tonight, here's our ratings: Eggplant appetizer -5/5 Bolognese -5/5 Carbonara 5/5

~HIDDEN GEM~ This place is an absolute hidden gem! I grew up in Vallejo and have not been here yet! It was my first time going for my dads birthday, and we are a party of 7. We were able to sit inside and there was one other couple sitting at a table nearby. Inside is pretty small but we were able to fit comfortably. We ordered a bottle of wine and I ordered the gnocchi. I got a side salad with Italian dressing. And I tried some of the ministrone soup. Oh my everything was delicious! The gnocchi was so good I got so full! Every dish that was brought out looked amazing. It was pretty quick service for a party of 7. Our server was very nice and friendly. Yes I know the location is not ideal, but who cares it's all about the quality of the food and the exceptional service. I will def come back here when I'm in town visiting my family!

My all time favorite in Benicia. Walked in to pick up take out tonight. It smelled so delicious. Garlic filled the air. Omg. We got 3 entrees. Pasta Amelia. White clam pasta and Gnocci in marinara sauce. Lots of yummy French bread and Minestrone soup. Oh and a wonderful bottle of Chianti.

This is my favorite Italian food in Benicia. Almost every time the food is a home run. I usually get the pasta Gabriella and it's never let me down. This last Friday wife got the Dijon chicken and daughter ate the Gnocchi. All had delicious flavors. It really was amazing. The only minuses we're the time it took for our dinners and desserts to arrive after ordering. Seemed slightly short staffed because all the employees were hustling their butts off. The location is less than appealing with the outside dining just a few yards from the gas stations gas pumps located immediately next door. Inside dining is cozy (small) but it has a nice enough atmosphere. Over all - Food 5/5 stars Service 4/5 Location/visual appeal 3/4 Average 4

Ordered their pizza special (3 item large 'za with salad) for pick-up, arrived there 30 minutes later as told to a packed restaurant filled with seemingly happy diners. Pizza/salad was ready and got it from friendly staff person, though price (even with tax included) was some 4 dollars more than advertised on website. "Large" pizza looked more like a medium size but was tasty enough and came with extra sauce and cheese, and the large salad was good..but the pizza had this weird too-thin cracker style crust which was not as before and not so great. I think next time we'll try someplace else for pizza.

Came here early today for dinner. Waiters were very friendly and quick. At my table we had pizzas and various pastas. Everyone enjoyed their food. Tuesdays have no corkage fees. Great food.

After moving out of the area, I hadn't been here in a few years. My 2nd mom and I went early on a Friday to avoid having to wait. There were diners at three of their tables. However, after ordering, it was a little over an hour before we received our entrées. In addition, after one employee walked back and forth twice, I had to ask for more water (my glass was empty and sitting at the edge of the table). The server never checked up on us, and I had to ask a different server for the bill. Customer service is apparently a thing of the past. And this is a very small restaurant! The food was good but not worth the frustration.

Love this place! The food is delicious and the chef is amazing. Every dish is spectacular. The best Caesar salad with housemaid croutons ever. The bread is perfect with the dipping sauce. I always get the Daniella, love the shrimp the sausage and the chicken mixed with the delightful sauce. My husband loves the Gabriella. They have a nice wine selection. We usually get a Chianti. To finish it off their gelato is the best I've ever had. If we could eat there every night we would.

What a great Italian restaurant There is a family feel to the place. Food has been delicious every time we have eaten there. Bread BasketMy only negative comment is the service is slow. However, the wait staff is always very nice. We always have a glass of wine with the yummy bread they serve. Pizza is fabulous. We order pizza as takeout. I would definitely suggest going there if you like Italian food and pizza.

There thin crust pizza, delicious, phenomenal, the gooiest cheese and the freshest ingredients, I dream of there pizza in my sleep. If it was possible it is a 10/10!

Consistently good! Staff is always friendly and fun. I can honestly say I have never had a bad dish here. This has been a favorite hidden gem for years! Some of our favs! Chicken Pesto, Margarita Pizza and the Chocolate Soufflé with salted Carmel gelato (it's an upgrade from vanilla)

Finally tried this place. We went to olive garden, one hour wait for 2 !! parked and were seated immediately, free bread and water came out. We ordered appetizer cheese pizza, soup, salad, and shared meat red sauce bolognaise spaghetti. The soup was really good and it was a tomato bisque it tasted more chunky and less creamy which i liked. Salads were ok, and the pasta was delicious. great!!

Loved the Napa Salad with salmon. It was such a big meal (came with soup) that I am eating the rest for lunch the next day and even great the next day! :) The service and ambience are great inside.

Well. This place deserves 5 stars because of the food flavor. There is a lack of good restaurants in Benicia this place deserves credit. We ate outside and the only dig is that the car wash driers were quite loud. Other than that. Service was good .Omar was cool. The food was quite tasty. Ordered the classic Saltimbocca. Ordered a Steak calzone. Classic minestrone. O really pretty good. Keep it up folks.

I really like the seafood pizza. It was the only place who made this wonderful pizza. However, I had one last week and the dough was terrible. They change the dough used in their pizza. I hope they go back to the old recipe. Please, please, please.

Another first! Wow! Not disappointed! A friend recommended this to me and we had to try it. So glad we did. Dinner was awesome and the service was good. I would recommend this to everyone if you are ever in the mood for Italian! Small place but well with coming. glad we did. The waiter was pretty dam good as well.
