What a GREAT experience. We came in the night before to get a table, and it was PACKED. Unfortunately we couldn’t get a table, but they made sure to make a reservation for us for the next day. So MAKE SURE YOU RESERVE A TABLE. Otherwise you won’t get in. The food was amazing, and our server was so friendly and great! The whole evening there was live jazz. They were 6 people playing the whole night, and ended up playing with guys from Sweden and Germany was well, because of the French Quarter Festival. There is a $10 fee per person for the music, but worth every penny. 10/10. I would recommend this to anyone visiting New Orleans

Google
The music and singing was nice. The jazz live performance is a great element. The food was ok nothing impressive, the caprese salad was shockingly disappointing. The service was good. Not a place that I would go to again.

Had the best time with my Mom! Tonight they had 7 of the best Jazz musicians in The French Quarter on stage. I did the math and they had over 455 years of talent on stage. We will definitely be back for the wonderful food and music! Was very nice to meet Richard on Bass.

Google
A lively vibe with jazz, quality food n good drinks. The Friday night band with Kevin Louis is worth making a visit! The sweet owner dances as the band plays....I love her energy!

Google
This experience was the best I had in New Orleans. The atmosphere and aesthetic was relaxing and amazing. The best food we had on our entire trip. The music was phenomenal along with the wait staff. If you’re looking for a Resturant with live music for the whole family highly recommend. This is great for the feel of New Orleans jazz music and food. If I could give it more stars I would. I will be sure to let anyone I know that comes to New Orleans to come this place.

Google
Such a one of a kind gem of New Orleans. Visiting Palm court is like stepping back in time with the greatest jazz music in the city.

Google
Delicious food and had a really nice jazz band. Definitely recommend.

Google
Excellent ambiance, excellent musicians we had a very good experience. The restaurant was a bit pricy but the food was excellent. I had the filet mignon and it was perfectly cooked … the service could be improved ….

Yelp
Palm Court Jazz Cafe will close permanently after the last show on June 2nd, 2024. I've loved the Palm Court since the 90's. I'm no regular, but I go when I want to reminisce about New Orleans' past, or to get people hooked on the City. Palm Court opening so soon after Katrina hit made me imagine it would always be there. I can't imagine it being gone for good.

Yelp
I'm always looking for great Jazz places to direct my friends who visit New Orleans. After Preservation Hall, this would be my next choice. Located in the French Quarter, this is a very nice Jazz cafe. A $10 cover charge and reservations are required. They have a full dinner menu and a full bar. The Jazz Band is a house band of excellent local musicians ... even some recent graduates of the NO School for the Arts Tables for two and accommodations for larger groups. Wait staff is attentive and friendly. Palm Court is a pleasant break from the seedier Bourbon Street establishments. If you're looking for a more upscale and family friendly experience, this is your place!

Yelp
A great experience listening to live jazz while eating dinner. The atmosphere was relaxed and jazz musicians were talented. Got the Creole pasta which was delicious and filling. They are generous with their portions. Our friends got the steak. For a cover charge $10 and price of dinner, this was a great experience. The staff were nice and the jazz ensemble played some classic songs.

Sha S.

Yelp
One of the best jazz clubs in the French Quarter. The cover charge is only $10 which directly goes to the band. Please make sure to ask the waiters if photography is allowed the day you go because some bands do not like that. We happened to come across a band that did not mind photography, which was awesome as I got to take some great pictures and videos of the music and ambience that night. Our waiter, John, was the sweetest guy ever. He was so attentive. I asked for a side of mashed potatoes without even knowing if it was available, and he did whatever he could do to get me that. The food is really good. I got the creole pasta and my boyfriend got a crab cake. Both were delicious, except my pasta was immensely oily. My only thing was that there weren't many options in the dinner menu. Finally, we got the chocolate mousse. Based on the size and the bitterness, it definitely wasn't worth $10 but all in all a great night and me and my boyfriend definitely enjoyed this place. The neighborhood is slightly sketchy at night and it is a long walk from Bourbon Street, but definitely recommend this joint.

Yelp
What a fun night filled with amazing drinks, tasty food and awesome music. It is like a jazz superclub. A little pricey, but worth it. Started with cocktails and the cajun martini was unique and I enjoyed it ... dirty martini with spice & pickled green bean. The fried oysters were perfect! My bf had creole beef and said it was full of flavor. I had crawfish in a spicy cream sauce, just right rice and broccoli. We passed on dessert. The staff is wonderful. The music is quintessential Nola jazz. Make a reservation ... treat yo self ... enjoy!!

Yelp
Music: 5 stars Food: 3 stars or less The menu is quite limited, prices fairly high, which I wouldn't mind if the food was good. Unfortunately, last time I went with a group of friends, most of us were disappointed with our plates. I ordered the crab cake and was a little surprised to see something like a tennis ball on my plate. While the taste wasn't bad, it didn't have any of the crispiness you get with a flatter shape. They also were out of one of the three desserts on the menu, no bread pudding that night (just ice cream or chocolate mousse). My friend's salad was so sad looking, I felt bad for her. A big disappointment for the food, but the music is still great.

Yelp
We went on 3/8 to enjoy some jazz and eat some good food, but only half became true. We were a party of 4, but this is only my take. Don't get me wrong the jazz was AMAZING!!! But the service, food, and overall experience was terrible. We arrived at 7:20 and were sat with Robert as our server. When I say this man needs to find a new profession, I mean it. He was rude not even just little rude I mean he literally acted like us being there was inconvenient and an irritant. We saw him a total of maybe 8 times in the 2ish hours we were there. We asked about vegetarian options and he seemed genuinely irritated and bothered that we were even asking. We asked a question about the potato cakes and he responded like we were just supposed to know what it was. The appetizer that we ended up ordering (tomato, mozzarella, and basil) was fine but the caprese salad I make at home is just as good. Bread was brought out but the butter was served rock solid and the bread tasted like they got a French baguette from Walmart, didn't heat it, cut it up, and put it in a basket. During this time drinks were empty at multiple points, and we saw Robert look at us, and walk away at least four times. As we were waiting we saw the other waiter/waitress running around being highly attentive to their tables. After an hour and a half our food finally came. I can speak for my food when I say, Popeyes red beans and rice is 100x better and half the price. The beans tasted like they were dumped from a can with a little extra spice and the rice was like microwaveable rice. The chicken was okay, but not high quality in the slightest. The chocolate mousse tasted store bought and low quality. When we complained the claim was it was busy that night, but there were no tables turning over and the restaurant wasn't full. With 20% automatic added gratuity, Robert had the audacity after the worst service ever to ask for an additional tip. After a 300 tab and a terrible night, the moral of this story is go to Popeyes, get chicken and red beans and rice. The jazz is the only redeeming factor in this situation.

Yelp
We had such an amazing night here! This place is quintessential New Orleans Jazz, and if you want a relaxing evening of wonderful music to accompany a fabulous dinner, this is exactly what you're looking for. We saw Mark Braud and his band here on a Sunday evening, and they were simply wonderful! They all clearly enjoy performing, and every one of them is immensely talented and yet down to earth. They put on a superb show that made our night. Not to be outdone however, the kitchen here works miracles. My partner had an absolutely perfect plate of Cajun creole pasta, with just the right amount of everything. When we ordered, I told our server that I was having a hard time choosing between the chicken and the pork chop, and she steered me to the pork - I'm so grateful she did! The pork chop was perfectly cooked and super juicy, and the white wine and mushroom sauce it was served with was absolutely to die for. My partners favorite dish is Cajun Creole pasta, and when he tried the pork chop, he almost wished he'd ordered it instead! Our server and the other wait staff were all friendly and helpful, and were nearby anytime we needed anything, and kept our drinks coming through the evening. Nina, the lovely owner of the Palm Court, was the perfect host, checking in with everyone and getting them involved, playing MC with the mic in between sets, and dancing around and generally enjoying herself with everyone. This lady is a gem! The atmosphere here is exactly what we wanted from our visit. Thank you all for a wonderful New Orleans experience. We'll be back with friends and family on our next visit!

Richard S.

Yelp
go for the jazz, always a great traditional band to watch the food isn't a reason to go and like most music venue the drinks are over price and poorly made cocktails. so best to call brand straight

Perla N.

Yelp
A wonderful 2nd dinner here. Wonderful traditional jazz band played. Our kids loved their filet mignon and devoured it. I had the seafood and it was excellent. And our waitress was very friendly and responsive. Only the Chicken Clemenceau was off - they should have used chicken breast. Spacious and elegant setting.

Tori T.

Yelp
The café is a welcomed calm in the middle of the busy French Quarter. It's beautiful and exactly what you would expect a jazz cafe to be. The band was incredible. The owner, Nina, was incredibly kind and accommodating letting my teenage sons come and hear the wonderful music from the band be introduced to what New Orleans jazz is about. This was an unforgettable experience and I would love to go back.

Michael K.

Yelp
Jazz band and vocalist were amazing! The seafood pasta was also. Nina is a treasure. One of our most memorable NOLA moments. The restaurant decor helps the overall atmosphere.

Judy H.

Yelp
We had a wonderful birthday dinner at Palm Court tonight. Good food and good music. Great place for a wonderful evening. Jazz musicians are great. Lots of history in this French Quarter music and dinner venue. Warm and friendly. If you have kids and want them to hear some good jazz. This is a place you can take them.

Ashley L.

Yelp
The jazz band and the atmosphere was so French quarter New Orleans and I was so pleased that I could enjoy it as a local, as this is no tourist trap. The live band was as best as jazz bands come and the lead singer interacted with us while we enjoyed our food. A couple on a date even got up in front the stage and slow danced, and they got right in to the lighthearted spirit in this place. We had a large party of ten and they were able to accommodate us right at our reservation time. The service was top notch. Try that appetizer sampler; it's worth it!

Lesley.Athena S.

Yelp
Great music and food. Wait staff very nice. Overall a 5 star evening. Jazz player I recognized from preservation hall! Same guy!

Felix P.

Yelp
Great food and good equity. This place is very jazzy and live music enjoyed the desert is good.

Reggie H.

Yelp
Great music, great food and wonderful service. Music is performed by some of the best musicians in the world playing Traditional New Orleans Jazz.

Vic M.

Yelp
Gumbo tasted good however very small cup as well as a bit too liquidy. Tropical salad was excellent $18) Crawfish Nasua was very good ($24) Basic small salad $6 was tasty. The sauce for their bread pudding was amazing. Caution: on your meal invoice you'll be charged $5 per person for music. Nice atmosphere. If you like jazz this is a great place to have dinner.

Minerva Aniana D.

Yelp
We called to make the reservation for 10 people and they were very accommodating. We got there at opening 7PM and our table was ready. I was excited about all the GF options in the menu and they did not disappoint. I had the flash fried crispy crawfish tails and a tomatoe onion & olive salad w fresh basil. Both dishes were tasty but very small. I would have also liked a better presentation since the place gives such an awesome stylish vibe. My husband ordered the crawfish pie which he loved. All my friends finish everything on their plates. Everything was delicious. Everyone was friendly and the music was right on point. It was classic New Orleans jazz which we enjoyed dancing. So much fun!!! The only bummer was the music cover of $5 per person even though you are having dinner there. I don't understand it. I think it would be different if you were going in for just the music. But hey! The place is so fun I guess its worth it. Our bill came to about $450 for 10 people which comes to $45 per person. We will probably go back when friends come to visit.

Yelp
Our evening here for jazz, drinks and dessert was the highlight of our trip. Went on a Wednesday night when Lars Edegran and band were performing. It was truly magical..., massive storm outside, the smell of the bread pudding baking in the kitchen, and such amazing music. Even my teens were moved by the experience and wanted to ho back the next night.

Yelp
I can not recommend booking an event here! I have an email from them CONFIRMING a hold on the venue for our wedding date. Happy to share the email. Just send me a private message. I know I was looking for feed back/reviews when booking this venue for a private event so I felt it my duty to post this review. I asked a clarifying question, told them my menu selection (which happened to be the lower priced option), about moving the start time up and was preparing our "save the date cards." Although we had a hold, they didn't reply for 48 hours. I figured they were busy with Mardi Gras time and President's day weekend so I didn't think much of it. Then I receive and email stating the venue wasn't available anymore because they gave the date to someone else. Very heartbroken since this event was my wedding and they really did screw us over! I passed on other venues, which are now also booked, because I had written confirmations from them that the space was being held for us as long as we submitted our deposit by a certain deadline, which we were in the process of doing. Our uncle frequents this place and highly recommended it. Very sad that they would be so disorganized to book two events over each other. I'm also not sure they didn't drop us because they booked someone who offered to buy the more expensive buy-out option. I would never trust them if they say the spot is reserved for you. If this is how they treat you, maybe we dodged a bullet but not having our wedding there. Just horrible ethics in my opinion.

Yelp
This establishment was by far the worst experience in Nola. Service: 0/5 had to wait about 5 minutes to even get acknowledged at the door, even though the restaurant was essentially empty. The waiter was not attentive at all. I had to ask for bread for the table because our salads came before the bread. The waiter did not even bother to ask if something was wrong with our food (party of 4- we only ate the broccoli off of our plate). We had to pour the bottle of wine we purchased ourselves. "Casual elegant" (as noted on the menu) is definitely not appropriate. Atmosphere: 0/5 There is no atmosphere. Music: 2/5 The band, although a house band, was mostly out of tune. The sound system was not appropriate for the space. They did not need microphones. The only reason why they get 2 and not 0 because I enjoyed the voice of the gentleman who sang. Food: 0/5 This was the most appalling meal I have had in years. The tomato salad with olives and "fresh basil" was 6 slices of tomatoes (yea I counted), a few strips of onions, 5 olives, and haphazardly included basil debris. I could not even touch my Jambalaya. It tasted like burnt rice cooked in a tire of a pickup truck while driving across the country. I GUESS the sausage was tolerable, and I couldn't even bring myself to try the shrimp. I was told that the creole beef was "the spiciest meal on their menu" but obviously the Jambalaya was much more spicy. I tried the said creole beef ... it should have been called "non-spicy Indian beef Masala". Wine: 5/5 The wine was good- because it was bottled and purchased from another establishment and was not tampered with by this glorious place. Moral of the story is, $200 later, four people are leaving incredibly famished with scratched up ear drums.

Yelp
Great spot if you are looking for amazing jazz! After strolling some streets and realizing that there is nothing but dirty bars with some live music and occasionally jazz here and there, we accidentally stumbled upon this spot after almost loosing all hope of getting a legitimate jazz experience in NOLA. This place started its jazz band at 7:30, perfect dinner time and does a full menu service while you enjoy the performance! Food: was so so- they can definitely up their game to match the great music experience. The bread and the wine glasses could do some major work to make it fit the environment.. I got the fish of the day and the rest of my family got steaks and gumbo! Overall not bad! Go and make reservations for 7:30 if you want good live music for several hours!

Jonathan G.

Yelp
I took my wife and kids here this evening. Great food. John our server was a great guy. Everyone looked after us and our kids. Great food. Great place and the music. Oh. The music. What more can I say. What a fabulous band. So great to be able to bring the kids to see such high quality music, performed by such talented musicians. Thanks to everyone. We will see you when we are back In New Orleans. Great place.

Dennis W.

Yelp
The food and jazz here deserve 5 stars on their own, but the portion size and service brought this review down a notch. It seemed many of the patrons in the front of the cafe were there just for drinks and the jazz. Cool. There were plenty of spots in the back of the cafe for us to eat, imbibe and soak up the tunes. At first impression, our waiter was a nice guy and consistent with keeping on top of our drinks. As the meal went on, that started to change a bit. We ordered a few appetizers to share, and thankfully it was a few. The portions on the apps were very small for $9 a pop. The upside is that they were actually quite tasty, so why not indulge a bit. For the main course, I ordered the Chicken Clemenceau. It was two small chicken breasts, not trimmed of fat (ugh, connective tissue!) and served with a mix of potatoes, mushrooms, and peas in a light sauce. After trimming the meat, I was ultimately happy with the flavors. As I mentioned, the dwindling service standard began after our meals were delivered. We had to ask for refills on water, and saw the server less and less. Eventually, once we were all finished eating, he came around again and asked if we wanted dessert. We declined. He said he would bring the check. We asked for the check to be split and were given attitude about it. He went off and returned a few minutes later with a dollar amount on a server ticket. Just a dollar amount. I laughed thinking it was a joke, but sadly it was not. We told him we would need an itemized bill for work and he said he'd take care of it. He brought us copies of the original ticket he wrote out. Joy. In addition to the meal, there is a cover per person for the live jazz. For two people to eat, have an appetizer, one drink a piece, and an entree you should expect to drop a crisp Benjamin on the bill. That's all I got to say about that.

K R.

Yelp
This place has it all. Atmosphere, great music and really good food. It was the perfect dinner/music night... just what NOLA is all about

Lorie O.

Yelp
Excellent jazz! New Orleans, Swing, Rag...they've got it all! Come on over! Awesome stuff!

Karen S.

Yelp
We went to the Palm Court Jazz Cafe on a tip from a coworker. He is very knowledgeable about jazz and has seen a lot of the greats that are still around. The Palm Court did not disappoint. The music is great and the band was enthusiastic. They obviously love what they do. We made a reservation for a Saturday night and although the place was busy, not all the tables were full. The food is very good, but not great. We started with the Palm Court Appetizer plate, which included ginger shrimp, fried oysters, and tiny crab claws. It was good, but a little pricey. For entrees, we jambalaya. It was good, but I have had better. For desert, we had the bread pudding, which was very satisfying. There is better food to be found in New Orleans. Just remember, you are going there for the music. It's New Orleans and the music is the best. It's a more old-fashioned jazz. The musicians were talented. We had the opportunity to see Lionel Ferbos with the Palm Court Jazz Band. He is a New Orleans legend at 100 years old. He sang and played the coronet. The rest of the band was made up of local musicians, each with their own band, and very talented. The service was great, as well. Our waitress was charming and explained the menu to us. The hostess really got the crowd going with her dancing and clapping. She is an older woman, but had a lot of moves. She got a lot of the patrons up dancing, as well. It seemed like the crowd consisted of a lot of locals, as many seemed to know each other. It was just a great evening. The band played three sets starting at 7:30 and ending at 10:30. It was a wonderful evening. We had so much fun! The next evening, we were in the area so we stopped in for a couple drinks after dinner hoping to get a table. A couple had just left and we got their table right next to the stage. It was a different group of musicians, but they were very good, as well. Clearly, Fridays and Saturdays are the bigger crowds, but Sunday was great, too. On Sunday, the hostess announced that everyone had to dance, so we did. This place is a must when in New Orleans.

Sarah D.

Yelp
We had a great cozy table in the window and just beside the piano. Music was AMAZING! It was PACKED and therefore I believe our waiter forgot about us. Overall I would recommend for the experience and the music, the food was ok. We had the sampler appetizer and some gumbo, both of which I would recommend.

Marian H.

Yelp
It is apparent to us that New Orleans is in transition. Never mind Bourbon street for Jazz. Frencmanstreet Area is the happening area. Tonight we wer across the street on Decatur but this place is coming up. Different bands each night but I'll bet the are all great. Who wouldn't want a great meal and drinks while listening to 5 piece band. Food was really delicious. Even though they had lots of local food choices we opted for the simple broiled pork chop. It took a while to pre pare but was well worth the wait. Salads were great. No fancy bar drinks but lots of drink and wine choices. Thouroghly enjoyed ou evening

Mitch T.

Yelp
We only went in to have drinks and watch the live music. I don't have much to go on here but I can say, the place is dated! Living off the hay days for sure. We had an app, it was ok. All the food we saw around us looked like something you would get years ago. What ever meat served with a perfect scoop of starch and steamed broccoli next to that. We have better sides and plating skills at home.

The M.

Yelp
The music was SPECTACULAR!! And the food?? AMAZING!! Yes they charge a cover charge. But the place is clean, just older just like the rest of NOLA. No smoking here either. Fantastic night of incredible soul filling music and tasty food!

Beverly E.

Yelp
Experience: 5 stars Food: 3.5 stars Service: 5 stars friendly, attentive, and always made eye contact to see if there was anything we needed. This is such a cute sophisticated family owned restaurant. The live jazz band was awesome, and each musician had their moment throughout the night to really shine in their performance. We ordered: - Chicken gumbo. Sadly this wasn't memorable. It was OK. - Crawfish entouette: It had lots of crawfish unpeeled and doused in a not too creamy sauce. It's really good but super filling! It also came with rice pilaf which was just OK too.. - Fish with coconut curry sauce: This was my husbands FAVORITE meal in all of NOLA! It's sweet but not overly sweet and just right. - Bread pudding: It had a lot going on and we felt it was too sugary - would've liked it to be a little simpler.. Our waitress was the best! She was attentive yet didn't rush us out as got to enjoy the jazz band for hours (there's a $5 fee per person that's added to your bill that goes towards the band)! If there were a place like this at home, I'd be a regular!

Leba T.

Yelp
An interesting place with good music and food. During my visit I had the Red Snapper and tried few bites of the ribeye. Both were tasty so i believe it's worth the visit. The service was ok but it looked like they can do better if they add one more help. Atmosphere wise, the L shaped seating allows to have good convo while enjoying some great jazz music. Note there is a $5 per person music charge as posted at the entrance.

Roland R.

Yelp
Great place to see live jazz music. The night we were there they had an old school band playing some swanky jazz! Love how the owner of the place, an older lady, goes around to check on the patrons. The crowd is on the older side (like grandma & grandpa old) but they still get down. Feel free to get up and dance with the hip senior citizens. Food is average at best so don't come here for the food. Come for the music and cheap drinks. Good place to avoid the madness at Frenchman Street, which is jazz central and very crowded. Definitely wouldn't mind going back.....to take the elderlies!

Jennifer U.

Yelp
My friend and I happened to walk by and heard the live band. We had just walked down from the ever so lively Bourbon street and wanted a quieter atmosphere for dinner and found this lovely place. Dinner, drinks, the atmosphere was all good

Laura H.

Yelp
The best jazz club in the world -- really. Yes, that seems over the top but it really isn't. The Palm Court has wonderful food and great service but what makes it special is the music. Every night is a one of a kind experience with traditional New Orleans jazz. I find myself grinning from ear to ear and I'm convinced that despite eating all the rich food I'm actually losing weight because I can't help but bounce and dance and in my seat (and on the floor) because the music is so good and so happy. What more could you want? No two nights are the same and the musicians are top notch. We come to New Orleans often and do go to other clubs as well but this is the one we keep coming back to, over and over.

Diana K.

Yelp
I have been sitting here for 20mins deciding if this deserves 3 or 4 stars - nothing actually WRONG with this place and the live music really was very very good but the food so-so and ambience left something to be desired... Location is slightly out of the way (away from the popular, Jazz-heavy Frenchman Street) which may have been the reason it was a bit empty - to their credit it did not dishearten the musicians (trad Jazz, eight piece band, Sachmo style) who I thoroughly enjoyed. Menu was fish heavy (fine by me) but when our food arrived it wasn't really up to par (I had ordered oysters...which turned out to be battered...my 'healthy' option went out the window) and was on the expensive side vs. comparable venues we had visited. Service was good and very friendly, the vibe is upscale but dress code on the more casual side (would say smart sneakers are ok, hoodie probably not ok). I would come here again (for the music + food combo in a venue that isn't rammed) but would be more selective and inquisitive about my food order.

Kathleen W.

Yelp
We were looking for dinner and music and had the pleasure of meeting owner Lena outside chatting with the band on break. She personally directed us to the hostess, then made sure we were seated with a good view of the amazing talent. She and our great server made sure we had an excellent experience. The trumpet player posed with us and we didn't want to leave. Amazing fried oysters and gumbo! Prices are on the high side - 3 dinners, salads and 2 decent bottles of wine with tip $240. Overall wonderful experience not to be missed!

Lou T.

Yelp
I love the jazz music by Lars Edegran & Topsy Chapman w/ Palm Court Jazz Band. Their food is excellent, don't know why people said the food isn't that great from Yelp. I see the food is great, very tasty and better than most places. Would come back for cajon seafood. Excellent service also.

Sarah D.

Yelp
Great music and drinks. Arrived too late for dinner so can't comment on the food but the band was so good we stayed until they closed. Drink were excellent - gin tonic & hurricane.

Yelp
Wow! Great music! We came on a Saturday night around 10pm. We had already eaten dinner so we went to the bar to listen to get drinks and listen to live music. A guy at the bar told us that this is the best place to listen to dixie jazz...He had visited from the OC, but fell in love with New Orleans and never went back. The restaurant wasn't very busy so we got to sit down at a table with our drinks. The music was lively and fun. I never knew the clarinet could sound so good. The old man who sang was also so cute. There is a little dance floor if you care to dance. We got a hurricane and a gin martini for a total of $12. Cheap drinks! The place also doesn't charge cover, but you can leave a tip for the band.

Yelp
Let me make this very clear: This is a Jazz joint that also happens to serve some pretty decent food. The meal certainly won't be disappointing but, it's not going to make any memories, either. The cocktails were quite good and I enjoyed their rendition of a Pimms Cup. Did I mention the Jazz is really, really good? We walked through the Quarter for several evenings and didn't find any music as good as it was here. This is exactly the kind of Jazz that people visit New Orleans to listen to.

Yelp
How is it possible that I am the 1st to review Palm Court? What is the world coming to... This is THE place to see traditional jazz in a comfortable setting. I mean I love Preservation and all, but it's hot & you have to stand to see anything. Palm Court is much more civilized. It's the sort of place you can imagine in a 1940s movie. Must admit I've never eaten here only listened to music & had cocktails.

Yelp
The food was HORRIBLE from the appetizer to the salad to the entree. And this was true for all four of us!! $200 down the drain, which probably would've tasted better than their food. As a side note, we also paid $5 per person for a cover charge.

Yelp
Wanted a dinner location for a large group with a wide variety of ages and tastes, all from out of town. Decided, with some reservation, on the Palm Court because of Yelp reviews, and they take reservations online. At the last minute our group grew from 15 to 25... The owner and hostess were incredibly responsive and eager to accommodate. Especially with such a large group, the service was wonderful. The food was good, ambiance lovely, and the jazz (house band) was excellent! Here, you felt like family. Also, although the music was phenomenal- you could still talk (and hear) those people at your table.

Yelp
This was an experience. I went alone, no reservations, they sat me down front near the stage. I had the seafood alfredo and it was delicious. Get plenty of bread to sop up the sauce. What a treat. Nice glass of wine. The band is terrific - every one a master and talent oooooozing out of their collective vibe. The trumpet player is a character - very friendly. He looks about 55, from England, and when he got talking and said he'd been in New Orleans for decades, I wondered aloud if he'd moved when he was a child? Nope. When he was in his twenties. Must be the water, the music, the food...something. And then he played. Amazing. The topper had to be the owner, a nice, little older lady, dancing her ASS off late until the night. She sat a nice Turkish doctor with me, so I learned about the art of urology in the Middle East during band breaks. I really don't think you can top that kind of evening.

Yelp
Palm Court is a solid place to see music - especially folks like Lionel Ferbos, Tim Laughlin, etc. who work better in an environment such as this which is more focused on the music and limits ambient noise. In terms of food, Palm Court is average at best - the shrimp potato cake appetizer was cooked well but didn't have much shrimp and was lacking in flavor overall. The Creole Beef Indienne entree was decent with some nice spice however the Creole Pasta was exceedingly oily and just not very appetizing. On the good side, food was reasonably priced. In terms of the wine list it was just okay, as were the drinks which were nothing to write home about - definitely nothing spectacular in either area. Overall, I will return for music and a drink at some point but definitely not dinner. For anyone writing that this is the best food they had in NOLA I'm sorry to hear it because the kitchen just isn't great and that probably says more about other mediocrity in the French Quarter than Palm Court being great. It's a big space which is nice for groups though and the music is always entertaining - please also be aware that you'll have a $5 per person "cover charge" added to your bill which goes directly to the musicians.

Yelp
I took my parents to New Orleans and really wanted them to experience a little Jazz culture. They aren't bar people and standing in line for over an hour for Preservation Hall was out of the question due to health concerns with my mom. After doing a little bit of research I decided on Palm Court Jazz Cafe. Old school jazz and a nice dinner sounded like a perfect combination. We easily made reservations online and when we showed up 1/2 hour early they still easily seated us without a fuss ( even though we offered to wait). Our waitress was knowledgable and helpful but a little too curt for my taste. The food was mediocre and didn't stand out. If I was rating this solely on food it would be 3 stars. The show was outstanding and the reason I will be back every time I visit this city. We were never made to feel rushed to eat or hurry out the door even when they had a line out the door of people who hadn't made reservations. The band seemed like they were having an amazing time and kept everyone entertained. This is a great place to come as a couple or with a family. You won't be disappointed with the show !

Yelp
What a great place to have dinner for our first night in New Orleans. LIVE Jazz music put us in a soulful mood while we enjoyed our dinner Sesame Shrimp: 3 stars portion was very disappointing but it was flavorful I had the special of the night which was some kind of fish with coconut sauce over it....DEEELICCIOUSSSSS. The coconut was not overwhelming at all, just the right amount of sweetness. I love anything coconuty so I was very happy. 4.75 stars =D There was a drunk old lady trying to dance (by herself)...YOU GO GIRL. Ok, kinda ruined the mood but was kinda funny to watch. Note: $10 was added to our bill, probably $5/person? Which was totally worth it for the amazing live musicians.
