Yelp
The Palm Room on Las Olas was opened in March of 2023 by David Cardaci and his wife Vanessa who took inspiration from the boutique hotel bars they had visited in Monaco and the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles. They own the Knallhart Management Group which also operates Rhythm & Vine, Roxanne's Liquor Bar and Kitchen, The Angeles, Florida House, Harrell's, Holly Blue, The Wilder, and the Whole Enchilada Ft. Lauderdale, Oakland Park, Plantation, Winter Garden, South as well as the Winter Garden Hotel. I had previously been to Holly Blue in a restored historic church in Flagler village in Ft. Lauderdale and a Yelp event at the Wilder on Broward Blvd. in downtown Ft. Lauderdale and loved both.
The Palm Room was designed to be a sports oriented cocktail bar. Inside are leather seats, high tops and a large bar against the back wall. There is a corner for a DJ booth for music on the weekends. The walls are covered with tropical graphics of palm leaves and monkeys. The bar is broken up in to three areas, the Alligator Alley, Let's Flamingle, and Local's Hangout areas. I read that they serve pizza but on the night I visited I only saw drinks, no food.
I had always wanted to check out the Palm Room so I wandered in during the Christmas on Las Olas Festival. I was hopping they had transformed it into a. Christmas pop up bar. I think it is the perfect space for that but they had minimal Christmas decorations. They did however have several holiday themed South Pile cocktails for $13 which included Fizz the Season, Santiki Claus, and Frozen Coquito along with $9 shots of Cotton Headed Ninny Muggin.
I really wanted the Frozen Coquito but I was informed they were out. I settled on the Santiki Claus made with spiced pear, tequila, pomegranate, lime, pineapple, Tiki Bitters, and cinnamon. It was a strong fruity drink but it would have been better if they sprang for some Christmas cocktail glassware. The presentation was kind of plain for a holiday themed drink. A Yelp check in netted me 25 percent off so that was nice. I might pop in for a drink again but I'm still on the hunt for a really over the top Christmas drink in a fun holiday pop up Christmas bar in Broward.
