NYC Restaurant Openings, June 2024 - Eater NY

"A multi-level complex by Latin music veterans is coming to Times Square. It begins with Palma Verde, now open, and evoking the feeling of a “weekend nightclub,” followed by Circo Restaurant, a “theatrical” dining experience, and a ground-floor Broadway Pizza & Bites, to follow next week." - Emma Orlow

My cousin had her 50th birthday party here at the 4th floor party space. The place is beautiful. Max and (I forget the other guy’s name, he was the manager the night of the party) were great. The light and sound systems are fantastic. There’s ample dance floor space and views of Times Square. What I didn’t like was that the staff weren’t proactive enough in clearing the previous party at EXACTLY 10pm knowing we only had 1 hour to decorate. I also disliked that they didn’t clean the floors and tables from the previous party. I was putting table centerpieces and cloths on sticky tables. I was putting the “red carpet” on a sticky floor. Lastly, the door staff were rude to several guests. Regardless, we had a nice time.

We visited Palma Verde between the Christmas and New Years holiday - which is prime time for the Times Square neighborhood. Friday night, 6pm and the place was about half full. Let me first say that while the place is aesthetically beautiful, it was eerily quiet. The vibe was very weird. The music was so low, it felt like people were scared to talk. It was the oddest thing. Anyways, it took about 15-20 minutes to get water. We finally ordered our drinks and that took awhile too. Food came shortly after. Once the drinks and the food came, I have to say that everything was DELICIOUS. The tuna nachos were so good we ordered another one. We also had the chicken lollipops and chicken under a brick. Small portions but very good. Based on the slow service and weird atmosphere, I don’t think I’ll go back.

I came in here by complete accident, my 10yo read a sign outside that kids eat free and dragged me in here. Glad she did, they had great service, amazing food portions & tasty drinks. Miguel was an absolute delight. Check them out.

I went for a pre-show Happy hour on a weekday. It was very empty but the bartender was friendly and the food and cocktails were good. It was actually really difficult to find the restaurant because it's upstairs from a different one.

Fabulous atmosphere and delicious food! The decor transport you with their tropical vibes. Had the passion fruit margarita which was amazing and the tuna tacos were scrumptious. Don’t forget to save room for churros!

This was truly an amazing experience! We came here to celebrate our 25th Anniversary and had an amazing time! Steeley was the most attentive and professional server we have ever encountered! Her dinner recommendations were excellent and the attention to detail was next level! I highly recommend this restaurant! Come and have a blast!

Had brunch here with a coworker last week. New space and still putting the finishing touches on, but the service was very friendly and attentive, and the food was really good. We shared the grilled watermelon salad, which was delicious, and my coworker said that her avocado toast was particularly tasty, especially the tomatoes. I had the ceviche which was a delightful contrast of flavors! We liked the open airy atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
Kids eat FREE at Palma Verde, the tropical oasis in Times Square! With a menu from Celebrity Chef, menu is American dishes with a Latin twist in a fun, beachy atmosphere--no passport needed! The giant mozzarella stick is EVERYTHING! Crispy, fun, and ridiculously delicious. And the salmoom with fried rice? A total game changer! Best deals! Kids 10 & under eat FREE with any adult entree or two apps! Plus, $9 handcrafted cocktails during Happy Hour (4-7pm).

Yelp
Visited there with a group of people, ambiance was good. It is Dry January and they didn't have many non alcoholic options which would be great for those people that do not drink. It so happened that the bartender made a somewhat lemonade... Their beer selection was also lacking considering this place is in Times Square. Food was decent, loved the guacamoles... and service was also okay.

Yelp
The passion fruit margarita very weak could barely taste the liquor. Way to much margarita mix. I had the chicken lollipops for a appetizer not impressed the chicken was chewy and topped with way to much out the bottle bbq sauce. For the main course I have the Cancun salmon with fried rice. Not bad at all seasoned well I would rate it a 6 out of 10. The service was good nice waitress she was friendly, with a nice attitude the ambiance was really nice beautiful scenery. Overall not worth the 200 bucks for 2 people

Yelp
Went on a Friday during the holidays I guess since it was pretty empty during the holidays there was a reason for this. The food was mediocre left feeling hungry and had to chase my waiter down for my bill after he dissappeared on us. Worst of all my 15 Year old daughter left her coach bag sitting on the hostess counter to look at the menu and walked away and i "guess" the hostess didn't notice the bag still sitting there. Needless to say it was stolen. So I would def not recommend this place to anyone. Much better choices in NY.

Yelp
To say it plainly, Palma Verde is too good for Times Square. But if you work in the area or must have food that's good, next level good, Palma Verde is a must! First the space is gorgeous, relaxed vibe with top notch service but not in your face annoying. I've been a few times and the food is consistently delicious. The menu is familiar American brunch, lunch and dinner favorites but next level on flavor. Chef Ricardo Cardona is genius as far as I'm concerned! Must haves -- house made cereal with giant marshmallows, egg and cheese sandwich, BLT, caramelized tres onion soup, warm ensalada de pulpo (octopus), buffalo chicken tenders, grilled branzino, rotisserie chicken.
