I haven't been to the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar since the Before Times, and I finally had time to pop in on the last day this year. Over 120 booths were set up with artists displaying their works and wares, including leather bags, hats, textiles, jewelry, fine art, mosaics, candles, and miscellaneous crafts. Everything was pretty high-end, not much under $50, most quite a bit more.
A couple of bars were set up serving specialty mixed drinks ($10 for a small cup) and beer, and a pizza place was in back ($9 for a large slice), with a few picnic tables set up just like at Costco. No one takes cash, cards only, so bring your plastic.
At the center back was the raised stage with rows of chairs set up in front and space at the back to accommodate dancers. Bands play sets at scheduled times starting at lunchtime, then mid afternoon and around supper time. People filled the chairs when we were there, but you can hear the music all over the area, and it makes a pleasant atmosphere.
Parking in their garage was a flat rate of $8 (they do take cash) and entry into the Bazaar was $12 per day. It was easy to purchase tickets online using the QR code posted on a sign by the line, and that kept us from standing in it to buy tickets at the door. They scan the tickets straight from your phone, for the uninitiated. This is the Modern Way at many venues and restaurants, and worth learning.
The room was fairly crowded when we were there on the last Friday of this year's event. They usually have an outdoor vendor section, but it was around 20 degrees outside this year so we didn't think anyone would be braving that.
Palmer has multiple events during the year and is set up well with the adjoining garage. A nice airy, clean venue for events.
