Good food and good service. Kelly was very good at taking care of us. Reasonably priced menu items. The nachos were delicious, as were the pizzas. We will be back.

Palmer house gives a cheers vibe. You never know who you’re gonna see or what’s gonna be the highlight of the day 🤣 I love this place. The staff is always pretty nice. The food is mid but okay for bar food. The wings are always a good go to. But my family always says the ribs are where it’s at.

If you're looking for a great local dive bar, this is your spot. The staff is friendly, the vibe is chill, and the food is solid. My husband and I usually get either the patty melt, cod dinner, queso dip, or their wings (they're huge!) and it's always piping hot and delicious. This is our favorite spot for sure.

While in town for business, my husband and I stopped in here for a Friday fish fry, but ended up getting a build your own pizza because they were all sold out of fish by 7:00. We sat at the sunken bar, which has a duct taped rail and torn leather seats. It's obvious this well-worn place is well loved by the locals, as it filled up pretty quickly after dinner. Our bartender was friendly, service was fairly quick, and our food came out hot. This place is nothing fancy, but it's fine for a beer and quick bite!

I highly recommend the Cod Dinner. The crisp and flavor of the fish batter was delicious. The portons were large for the price. The service was fast. The vibe was laid back and friendly. I'll be back when the next fish and chips craving hits!

Food is very good! They are busy for a reason during dinner. If you have the pleasure of having Jodi or Rachel working, they are both 100%! on top of everything! The dj on Thursday night... he always makes sure you get to hear or sing your request! (They have karaoke during cold seasons) I've been here about 10+ times and I always have fun! Wings were probably the best I’ve had. I would have given 5 stars but my Bottled Beer Wasn’t very cold at all. Huge disappointment, I could only stand the one.

Nothing fancy, but "OH, the food, the drinks and the service are terrific!" Simply amazing wait staff...never seen anything like it! Fish and chips (try the tots instead of French fries) are to die for. Love this neighborhood hangout with old or new friends. Love it! Can't wait to come back!

Needed to grab a bit to eat before at event later in the evening and this hit the spot. Settled for a couple tequila sprites and some chicken fingers. The ranch was yummy for any of you ranch snobs out there. The bar tender was friendly and prompt. It was the odd between lunch and dinner time, but it had a good handful of people in the bar. There are several tv if you are out and want to catch a game. It definitely has the late and night kinda vibe with a dance floor, light setup and little dj spot.

This was our first time visiting the Palmer House. My wife and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Brent was a great host welcoming us into the bar and making food recommendations. The Palmer House had the feel of a Florida ocean side bar. Great atmosphere and this will become our go to place to chill.

The parking lot was a little confusing but they have a side lot as well that doesn't look attached but this place is easy to find. They have an outdoor patio which is nice it was just a little too windy to sit outside but it would be nice to sit outside one time. The inside is very big and they have a pool table, keno machine, a DJ booth and a dance floor. There wasn't a lot of people here however the NFL Draft is here in Detroit right now so I'm sure everyone is down there because that attendance was 700,000 people I can only imagine at least 150,000 were from Michigan but it was a little quiet which is nice cause I'm not really into crowded environments as much as I used to be. We ordered drinks and food, I ordered hand cut fries, the Black & Bleu Burger with extra jalapeños and we shared Queso Con Carne. The hand cut fries were just okay, they seemed a little soggy didn't have much crunch to them at all. I have had a lot better. The Queso Con Carne was actually really delicious, it tasted like Hamburger helper cheese which I am not saying that as a bad thing because I love the cheese in HH, it was thick, gooey and delicious! I loved it. Then next came out my Black & Bleu burger, I always order my meats rare and this rare burger was really good, I also added jalapeños on it for an extra 25 cents. I also had Onion Rings ordered with it and they were really good, they weren't greasy like most Onion Rings usually are and they actually had crunch in the inside and soft on the outside, it was just perfect. All the food was really good, we wanted to try their pizzas but they were all out of the flatbread and pizza dough so maybe we will try again next time.

Great service and terrific food! Definitely try the hand cut fries! Pizza is homemade as well. A must stop if you are in the area. Good place to watch the college world series with alltgeir TVs.

This is a hidden gem as others have noted. They have a decent menu selection. Plenty of TV's to watch your favorite sports team on and music to keep you happy. They have a decent sized dance floor and a corner for their DJ. Want to play pool? They have a table too. Pretty big area outside to eat as well. It was pretty toasty today so I chose to eat in their spacious indoor.

Excellent place for fish and the place to come for fish on Friday! I love their tartar sauce! I highly recommend the Palmer House for fish! It definitely is the place to come!

Just had the blackened blackbird chicken sandwich and totally loved the thing! A new high in bar chicken sandwiches. A rare steak in a sea of bar burger makers! It's a blackened chix sand with bacon, cheddar, onion straws and a delightful jalapeño tomato jam that takes the sand up yet another level. There are so many other great food options available here but hit this chicken masterpiece soon. Great staff, excellent chefs and a great time awaits you at Palmer House Bar and Grill!

This is a good hangout if you live in the area. We stumbled on it while looking at houses. We just had beers and some mozzarella sticks. They have a decent selection of beers on draft and the sticks were quite good. Pools is free on Sundays, which was fun. The bartender was friendly, but she was alone, which meant service was a bit slow. There is a dance floor, so I assume they have dancing on some nights. I'd stop in again when I am in the area.

Great local dive bar vibes, with clean and welcoming atmosphere, great liquor selection, and super decent prices. Free pool on Tuesdays and great service. Definitely recommend.

Rebbecca and Dave have turned this place into a neighborhood gem! They have great food, a decadent selection of drinks and a decent selection of craft beers. They also have many events benefiting local businesses in need of assistance, and we love they give back to the community they do business in! We also love they let our Pup on the patio. He's now part of their family too!!

This place is a hidden gem with a massive patio. And they have umbrellas on wheels. Shout out to Connie the bartender for great service. Palmer House Bar & Grill was opened 2015 and is run by David and Rebecca Newby. Palmer House is tucked behind the old Eloise Psychiatric Hospital and the current Walter Reuther Psychiatric. Every other Wednesday they have live acoustic guitar on the patio from 6pm-9pm. Every Friday-Saturday they have a DJ from 9pm-2am. Definitely try: Half slab of ribs with tater tots (delicious and wow the tater tots are good too) Tater tots are amazing Philly Cheesesteak (chopped ribeye covered w/ mushrooms, onions, peppers, swiss cheese; so good) Black and Bleu Burger Our only suggestion for improvement: the Bloody Mary's need better higher quality olives that are pitted.

A nice little corner bar, good beer and pizza. Staff was really nice as well. Very nice stage area which I would thoroughly enjoy performing some karaoke on. One of the regulars informed me they are no longer doing karaoke at this time.

This place has gone downhill so much in the last 6 months. Two waitresses, always out of it like they are drunk/on drugs . Drink order wrong, food order wrong, slow service, waited an hour for our tab after we finished eating. Gave it quite a few chances and no improvement.

Palmer house has the best food in Westland! They make their own sauces, they hand bread their chicken tenders. They make a chicken BLT that is off the hook!

Very clean, great food, affordable for anyone and comfortable atmosphere. I've only been for lunch, but it's always exactly what you expect if not more. For a well visited bar it is very clean- it doesn't stink like old beer or dirty fryers. They usually have drink specials for $7 and shot specials for $5 or so. It's quick to get your food and they have a lotto machine for keno etc. there is a big dance floor and dj booth so I'm sure it goes down in there on the weekends. The regulars sitting at the bar helped the waitress with a few things (she was opening by herself) which I though was very sweet and just kind of showed that they do good business. Not anything crazy as far as liquor goes, so don't go expecting a fru fru fancy. Chicken tendies and nacho tots are a must!

I have been here multiple times and yet to have a bad experience. The pizza, cajun garlic parm wings, caesar salad, cheesesticks, everything I have eaten has been delicious. You get a free keno ticket when you order a large draft beer, and they have daily specials that you can find on their Facebook page. To top it all off, this place is so cheap! They have outdoor seating and allow dogs out there which is always a bonus.

This place is a great place to come and have a beer or order food " pizza is fantastic" the Waitress was Phenomenal. If you want to come and enjoy yourself, this is the place to come!

The food was great however it took almost 2 hours to receive it. They ended up giving us a free round because of the wait time. The waitress was very apologetic. I think they must have just been short staffed in the kitchen. Cute place and seemed like a nice place to hang out. They were really busy and seemed like a lot of locals were there. I would definitely go again.

Found this hole in the wall because it allowed dogs on the patio and I am very happy we came across it. The hand battered chicken wings are so fresh and their Cajun Parmesan sauce is amazing. We also got a pizza which was very good and a salad that was a generous size. It's a small dive bar but the food is VERY good and reasonably priced, I will definitely the back

We were there for My Trivia Live semi finals and I was very impressed. There seemed to be only one waitress and she was fantastic! And the food was really good. I will be back with or without The Trivia gang!

Neighborhood bar with good food and selection of beers on tap. Fast friendly service. Have had the Italian flatbread and bbq burger and all very tasty. Nice crowd for Lions game and ALL screens were on the game so didn't need to jockey around for all to see.

Whoever is bartending Saturday afternoon needs an attitude adjustment Yelling and talking down to customers is not the way to act. This long time favorite of ours is now at the bottom of our list. Rebecca you find better ' The food is ways consistently great'.

We just landed and needed to find a place to eat that was also well rated. Glad we checked yelp and found this place. I was pretty apprehensive because this was a bit out of the way and from the outside not exactly what my pretentious ass was used to. Josh was a super friendly server - it was clear the place was understaffed but we were never under served. He gave us lots of suggestions and everything was perfect. The food hit the spot - nachos, wings, pizza, TVs everywhere playing any game you could think of. What more could you want? Wish we had more room to try more food. Next time!

4 stars for the food. On Saturday 5/15/21 my fiance and I decided to stop into Palmer House for a beer and bite to eat. I must admit as someone who eats out at least 7 times a week, I have never been treated so rudely by a waitress. Her attitude at yelling at us when we tried to play Keno because we didn't see the sign on a 5X5 card was totally uncalled for. Is this the normal for this establishment? Based on the food, I would consider returning, based on the service and the nasty waitress they will never see our faces again.

The best asset this place has is it's staff. They are very nice people, and eager to assist you. We didn't get a lot of food, but what we had was pretty good. The drinks were spot on and great. The atmosphere is your typical bar/club type.

Great food. Do people even know how great the food is here? Probably not. It's an excellent bar; great beer, good drinks, but we know that already. Always great service. But, you guys, THE FOOD. Ribs are amazing. Patty melt was wonderful. I've had the wings, all the chicken sandwiches, like, I'm so happy I now live so close by.

The food itself was great, I ordered a zesty barbecue burger with fries. It was great! However, I don't feel welcome here. When my husband and I pulled up, there were dozens of empty, unsmiling stares - not sure from patrons or staff - we're Black, by the way. Solved that problem by ordering carryout instead. Not super motivated to come back. I see another customer wrote a similar review, and I'm sorry that this is a developing reputation for a restaurant in my neighborhood (I literally live a block north of here). Maybe work on this bit, I definitely believe it would encourage new clientele. Other than that, the food is great, and the drinks can't be beat.

Came here with a group of co workers recently. We were only in town for one night. The waitress at our hotel restaurant recommended the place and we are all glad she did! This place is great for a casual night out with room to dance and a pool table. The drinks kept coming, the bartenders were very attentive! Corn hole outside, it seemed like a local crowd, which was awesome. The owners were both there ensuring everything was going smoothly, they were both super nice and welcoming! Oh yeah! And there's Keno and some other lottery type stuff (I'm not an expert on that.) If we are ever in town again I'm sure we will be back!!!! :) thanks Palmer house!

Last night was my first attempt at Palmer House. Waited over 30 minutes for our food and then, after asking, was told the cook (apparently the only cook) had a family emergency. (We overheard he actually quit.) Not sure how long we would have had to sit there before they would have told us. The response on FB about the incident was a bunch of excuses and no real sincere apology. In fact, was told to go to Applebee's or Chili's. It's sad when a locally owed and operated business treats customers in that way. In the future, I will not go to Applebee's or Chili's but rather another local business. Maybe one that actually cares how their customers feel and are treated.

Nice place, great waitress. Went there on a football game Sunday, TV's were too loud for the size of bldg...had the Chicken Pizza, very good n loved the crust, nicer if crust was flavored. For my first time there, I enjoyed myself with my best girlfriend from Monroe. The cheese sticks were big n good too.

I Absolutely Love This Bar!!! They have the coolest wait staff and bartenders.. I always order the Chicken Bacon Ranch flat bread and fries with a Long Island ... free pool on Mondays... And Ladies, YES!! The bathroom is always CLEAN

Every night there's a special. Some of the specials are ribs , chicken parmigiana, fish. Never had a bad experience. Enjoy the atmosphere and the friendly staff. Keep it up!

I love this bar. The service is consistently awesome and the food is great. Shout out to our weekend server who runs this place like a well oiled machine. I understand that many are frustrated with covid restrictions but can we please stop taking it out on our hard working neighbors? The negative posts on here related to staying out of a clearly marked area are uncalled for. Stop by, you won't be disappointed!!

I live nearby and was frequenting this bar often during football season. I arrived 10 before the Lions game started and wanted to order wings. They are supposed to be $.0.50 on Sunday. I ordered my pitcher of beer, sat in front of the big screen and then told wings are $0.50 when the game starts. What? It's obvious I was there for the game. Wings take 15 minutes to make. You couldn't sell me wings for $0.50? I thought I would try again this afternoon for the playoffs... Half way into the game I wanted to order wings. Was told it would take 45 minutes because they had to make pizza dough. What the heck. Apparently this place doesn't want my money. This is my last time here. Moral... Don't go to eat food. It is homemade but they certainly do not know how to service customers wanting to order food. NOT a service oriented bar.

The food and service is always good. Bothersome that they charge you for every side of sauce, including the sauce they spin the wings in.

My husband and I have brought quite a few different family members here. They have really good bar food , and a pretty extensive menu. Their lunch specials are a great deal and they have different sliders every week. So far I haven't tried a slider there that I did not like! The chicken ranch flatbread is quite large and very filling, that's what my husband usually orders. The bartender slash waiter is quick, attentive, and great at what he does. There's a lot of seating and it's never overly packed.

Last night 7/28/17 had excellent fish n chips! $9 for 3 large pieces of fish, fries, hush puppies and cole slaw. Good quality food. Tasted great. Service is top notch. 2 weeks ago I stopped in and had sliders and potato cups. Basically potato skins that are loaded like a cup with cheese and bacon. That time, good food and fresh. The ground beef in the sliders was great. Give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

Homecooked specials daily and a decent selection of craft beer. A laid-back environment with down to earth staff. We love this place. Great service, great food.
